I’ve been to Lion Noir in Pila for a number of years now, we always visit in the February holidays, we have always had a fabulous time with the hotel offering an amazing and comfortable stay with very helpful and friendly staff giving a wonderful experience.
The hotel is suited to all types of guests including families and couples, the food has never let us down, with a 4 course meal every night. All rooms are clean and tidy giving a warm feel to help settle in.
I would definitely recommend Lion Noir to everybody, they give a holiday like no other.

Very pretty little hotel, food was fantastic with a 4 course meal every night, very friendly family owned hotel.
The rooms were cleaned every day and were very spacious considering we had 2 children sharing with us.
The hotel has recently been refurbished (apart from the pool area which could do with updating). But who needs a pool when you have a sauna to chill out in.
Pila itself is a purpose built resort and consequently some of the buildings look like chunks of concrete i.e. hotel Pila 2000.
Skiing in Pila is fantastic even though 2 of the lifts were closed all week but it had been snowing for 2 days so what more can you expect. The one thing that did surprise us was the fact that the slopes were EMPTY considering we had a dump of snow, but it did get very busy at the weekend with locals from the valley below.
The only thing to consider when staying at the hotel Lion Noir and you are making your own way there is finding the hotel (you have to drive across the main Piste next to the main cable car to reach the hotel!).
Over all a fantastic and very friendly family run hotel A++
