Comfort Suites Reviews

The hotel was especially cheap because it wasn’t on international drive, but this wasn’t a problem because taxi fares are low. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms very comfortable, and I was surprised at the quality of the swimming pool at such a low price.... more

Not as bad as what others have said...
from Chrisypoo
My stay was from 3-27-05 to 4-1-05...I had booked and paid for my room prior to reading the reviews, so I was a little apprehensive about staying here. The room itself was fine...a bit bigger than a regular double room because of the sofa/sitting area. Having a microwave and frig was very handy. The bathroom didn't have a separate vanity area, but the bathroom itself was huge with a ton of counter space. The pool was very nice, as was the landscaping. My only complaint with the outside of the building is that the wind had blown a bunch of trash around from the dumpsters and it was still there (parking lot, grass, plants, etc.) 2 days later. The breakfast was good, especially the waffles. One previous reviewer complained that it was in a desolate area...it was definately off by itself, but I think compared to the fiasco of trying to drive along International Drive (which we did one night), and God forbid turn off anywhere, it's an advantage. If you go south on Turkey Lake, it turns into another road and there was tons of restaraunts that way. Getting to Sea World and Disney was extremeley easy as Turkey Lake is very close and there's no traffic. To Sea World parking lot only took 10 minutes, driving back from Epcot only took 20 minutes from getting in the car to getting inside the room. I didn't have any plumbing problems, did see an ant in the bathroom, but I was on the ground floor so I just attributed it to walking in with it. The desk staff did there job...weren't overly polite or friendly, except for the young man who was checking out guests early morning April 1...he was great, the other workers should take a lesson from him. Also, for those people with children (like myself) their cable system for the tv offers only has 15 channels and NO children's programming at all. I was amazed that in practically the family vacation capital of the country, there were no channels for kids. The closest we got was sometimes a kid's movie was playing on HBO in the morning.
Avoid this hotel
from Geffect
This hotel had so many flaws that it was commical. Our room had a leaky facet, a running toilet, malfunctioned TV and faulty lights. The room had a musky smell. We found the filter in the air-conditioner had molds on it. The elevator was very dirty. The whole place looked unclean. The sheets were not changed daily. The receptionist at the front desk was rude and unhelpful. ....... So don't go there. Avoid this hotel!
Great value for money
from UkDebbie39
We stayed at the Comfort Suites over Xmas/New Year 2004/5. For the price we think we had great value for money, we were looking at staying somewhere where all five of us could sleep in one room, have a shower, store cases, etc - just the basics really - we wanted to save our money for entertainment and nice food/souvenirs - rather than use it on luxury accommodation. We didn't expect too much. We had read reviews on here prior to our holiday, but have to say that our hotel room was clean, well serviced by the maids, and had all facilities which were advertised and all in good working order - no complaints there. The included breakfast buffet was good - a bit more fruit would have been nice - the waffle making machines went down well. The pool and bar were lovely. However, one bag of souvenirs went missing during our stay - we are not talking of mega expensive things, but small items with more of a sentimental value - when we asked the maids about it - they pleaded that they could not speak English and couldn't understand, so watch your possessions - keep an eye on souvenirs and don't leave valuables lying around. We would stay here again, but would obviously be more careful with belongings. I would also like to add that as long as you have a hire car, this hotel is a perfect location for Disney - no more than 15 minutes drive to entrance, Universal 10 minutes drive to entrance and 5 mins from International Drive/Seaworld.
If you don't like plumbing, ironing or service this hotel is for you!
from Dr_Stager
Sink, toilet and shower all had drainage, leak or other plumbing problems. There was no TV remote or iron in the room. It took over an hour for an iron to be brought to the room. The ironing board is a dirty little wooden board that refuses to stand up. The linens are of the foam quality. I too was made to pay the $2.50 daily fee for the inexplicable use of what looks like a WW II era safe. I wonder why they are so proud to have safes in each room? There is free Wi-Fi (a great thing), but the TV gets only a few channels - most of which were running infomercials - and with crummy reception. The room is standard motel-size, but with a couch. I guess the definition of "suite" has been redefined.
Very disappointing
from A TripAdvisor Member
A relative and I stayed at this hotel in September 2004, very disappointed. We were told it was walking distance to shops etc. Not one store was near us you have to get a taxi just to buy some milk, this works out between 10$ and 20$ a time! There is a small basic store on site which is a little pricey. The staff were nice enough though one receptionist had a little attitude problem that had to be adjusted. The builidng is very dated. The rooms had a moley smell and there were little ants everywhere. The sheets looked a bit dodgy even when they had been changed. The bathrooms were clean enough but our ceiling fell in because of damp so we had to chnage rooms. The pool looked ok but didnt go in. You dont get a lie in as every morning workmen were on site drilling and banging. The maids were quite rude and would actually barge into your room even if you had a do not disturb sign outside!! All in all not good value for money, no where near attractions if you don not have a hire car, I wouldnt stay here again!
stay somewhere else
from Jaxgirl
I have stayed here in the past and had no problems but I'm not sure if it is management or the hotel is just going downhill. Stayed 2 nights, 11/25/04 and 11/26/04. Reserved king NS room, checked in at 3:15 pm and no rooms available. Said come back in 2 hrs. We did. We got room 208. Menu of Tiki Bar on pillows so picked it up and noticed there were brown ants, dead and live, under the sheets and the pillows. The fridge had a variety of dead bugs in it. Jonathan of the front desk came up and called housekeeping to change the sheets. I told him I wasn't staying in that room. He then gave me room 210. We walked in together and I pulled back the pillows and there were fleas jumping up at us. He said they do allow pets but the "pet rooms" are on the other side of the courtyard. We ended up with room 211. Room ok. When we got back from Sea World the next day, our room was cleaned and bed made but no towels or cups. I went down to the front desk and while I was standing waiting for my towels, two other rooms on the same floor had called and said they didn't have towels either. We paid $69 w/AAA discount and it is $79 a night w/o discount. Not worth it. Cable/satellite not good reception, in room movies did not work. "Soundproof" rooms, not true. Could hear the man's phone conversation in room 212. Good points - shower always had hot water and the bed was comfortable. There is an in-room safe but we did not use it. We will not be staying here again.

We stayed 3 nights Oct. 7-10, the hotel is at best average. The room was clean but had a really bad musky smell, the mini frig will hold drinks and thats about it. The pool area is very nice, the tiki bar is convinent but pricey. The breakfast in the lobby is alright is you want waffles, if you're just a small eater you'll love it, not a good start if you're planning a long day at the parks. This hotel is perfect if you're just wanting a place to sleep, it is very close to Seaworld and Disney ask the front desk for the back entrance.
Worst hotel ever
from ClaudiaH
I feel obliged to post this review so that no one else has to go through my experience during their vacations. I read some bad reviews of this hotel and I thought they were only bad chance. The web page of this hotel described a well implemeted hotel and showed some attractive pictures of it too. However, when I got there I was extremely disappointed. First, the hotel was nothing but close to the International Drive, it was on the isolated side of it if you want to put some way, no tourists around except the ones lodging at the hotel. Second, I was informed that I had to make a payment per night of approx US$ 2.50 in addition to the rates at which I had reserved my room. And then, the whole hotel was dirty, the elevator, the rooms. My room, in addition to the musty odor, lodged the biggest coachroach I have ever seen in my life and other smaller ones too (thanks God I only spotted them on my last day at this place). I really did not want to ruin my vacation by complaining about this with the management of this hotel but I can certainly advise others who are looking for an OK hotel, clean enough, located near the international drive, and paying a fair price, not to choose this one. You can get a much better hotel at the same price.
Nightmare in Orlando
from A TripAdvisor Member
My mother reserved 4 rooms in may for July 29 - Aug. 2, to treat her kids and grandchildren to a vacation at Walt Disney. My mother is in a wheelchair and specifically reserved a handicapped room. When we arrived, her room wasn't available for 3 days. She actually fell down in the bathroom because the handicap arrangement was sadly lacking. The management made promises each day that her room would be available tomarrow. Her kids had to move her into different accomadations 3 nights in a row. The rooms were filthy, smelled like mold, tiles in the bathroom were falling off and the fans in 3 of the 4 bathrooms didn't work. Cleaning staff stole money from my room. The breakfast was so full of people that you were shoulder to shoulder and waited in line an hour to get through and get seated at a table. We were very disappointed with our stay here and my mother was literally in tears because her dream of bringing her family to a nice hotel near Walt Disney World to relax and have fun was utterly distroyed. We will never come back here again.

We stayed at the Comfort Suite Hotel for 6 nights. This place was lovely. Do barter with them We got it for £39.79 per night. The rooms were lovely. Very very clean, very big, a large king size bed. Lovely bathroom with bath and shower. Even a safe in your room, which... more
