No charm but nice pool with waterslide
from A TripAdvisor Member
The room had dirty windows. Pool was unheated for 3 days out 6 days. Suite-type room size was good. Could use more landscaping.
Beware: Bait and switch
from World_TravelerJapan
The ads seem great, but they do not live up to the expectations. The pool is the shining point. If you want to spend countless days at the pool consider this hotel. Otherwise, read on. Rooms are suites, but are small and the shower curtains are moldy. The included breakfast is not offered unless you ask at the front desk, and it's on the reservation. The web site lies, stating "free buffet breakfast". No more buffett, unless you pay an additional 5$ per person (4 years old and up). You get a voucher for their "continental on the go" which is a pastry, coffee, 1 piece of fruit, 4 ounces of juice and yogurt. Front desk personnel are not very helpful, and sometimes rude. At $100 or more, not worth it. If you're paying $50, then it's OK. If you can afford it, stay at a Disney resort or a big property. I wish we did.
Fantastic Holtel - well recommended
from Irish-Tink
We stayed at the Caribe Royale for 18 nights in August and had a fantastic time. The hotel was clean and spacious and the staff were very friendly. The pool was a big hit with our children (5 and 6) and we ALL enjoyed playing on the waterslide. There was always a memeber of the pool staff at the top of the slide making sure guests used it safely and on quite a few occasions I saw the pool manager stoping children from running to the slide. The kiddies pool was in a seperate gated area and has fountains and water spouts in it, there was also a small playground. This area never seemed busy. There were always plenty of sun beds and free pool towles. The seperate bedroom in our suite was really useful as the kids could chill out watching telly in one room and mom and dad could chill out watching telly in the other room. There was a fridge and microwave as well as a coffee machine for which we got free coffee each day. The rooms were always kept very clean and if we saw the houskeeping manager she would always check if everything was OK with our rooms. We received a complentary breakfast voucher with our booking for which you could get a continental breakfast or a hot breakfast in the "take away" resturant - or for a small extra charge you could have a buffet breakfast in the main resturant. We mainly ate outside the hotel but on a couple of occasions we got chicken from the take out resturant and it was good value and nice. There seemed to be lots of mainenance staff and they had their own security staff around the place and everyone was always polite. We have stayed in quite a few other hotels in the Orlando area and for my money this was by far the nicest one. I would highly recommend it and we will be going back again next year.
Nice hotel, but....
from bec060874
Stayed here for a conference in August--this hotel was an overflow location for the Marriott World Center (conference was actually held there). The hotel itself is nice and the room was large, but I had some big problems with the restaurants. The first night we were there, we ate dinner at 9PM at the Tropicale. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and yet it still took over an hour to get our food (which was a salad, soup and an appetizer). We did get a free dessert coupon for our wait. The second night, again at about 9PM, we went to eat at the Tropicale and were told the wait was 45 minutes for a table. I looked around the restaurant and about half the tables were empty and nobody was waiting. The hostess never apologized for the wait or offered alternatives. So, we went back to the room to get room service. After dialing several different times and letting the phone ring for a minute each time, someone finally answered and informed me that the wait time would be at least an hour and ten minutes. So, we went back to the main reception building and got some food from the cafe...it was okay, but it had clearly been sitting there for awhile. When I checked out of the cafe, I asked for a receipt so I could expense my meal and was told I couldn't get a receipt. The girl hardly spoke any English--she kept telling me it would show up on my final bill. I told her I needed an actual receipt (like everyone else at the hotel had been providing to me at each meal), but she refused, saying I "hadn't paid for it yet because I was charging it to my room" and therefore couldn't have a receipt. ????? If my credit card is on file and I charge something to my room, it's been paid for and I am entitled to a receipt. My last issue is the "late check-out." I asked if I could get a late check-out as the conference runs all day and was told that I had until 2PM or I'd be charged half a day's rate, even if nobody needed my room. I've stayed at a lot of hotels and the majority of them are more than willing to accommodate a late check-out if available. I was hoping to check out at 4 or 5PM. Overall, the hotel was nice and the pool was nice, but the restaurant debacles were enough to turn me off to returning to this hotel again. Had the servers been at all apologetic, I may have been more understanding.
Good Fun!

From the moment we checked in, we knew we were in for a treat! The front desk staff was friendly and informative. We were in awe over the enormous size of the lobby which seemed to carry you along seemlessly to different sections of the hotel. The gift shop was VERY impressive for a hotel. Just about every amenity you could imagine (and couldn't) was available. Our two children (8 & 10) needed oxygen after having their breath taken away by the sight of THE POOL! Oh my! You are automatically drawn to the exceptional waterfall at center (pool) stage coupled with a nice-sized waterslide. A virtual oasis of fun and relaxation all neatly framed by gently swaying palm trees, an abundance of lounge chairs, and attentive staff! It was nice for my wife and I to be able to unwind (after Disney!) at the pool-side bar with a Calypso Colada-a worthy frozen treat suggested by our friendly bartender, while the kids splased and laughed under the pool waterfall! Ok, `nuff said said about the pool:) Our room (one room villa) was as expected with comfortable beds and lots to watch on TV. Given all the theme parks we visited, we hardly spent much time there. We did have difficulty getting through to room service on several occasions. We did call the manager who quickly apologized and took our order! I suggest the Caribe Club sandwich-VERY tasty. The cleaning staff's service was at times inconsistent. We left our room service dishes outside our door one night and finally took them back in the next afternoon when we got tired of looking (and tripping) at them. I would have liked to have seen more complimentary services. It seemed you had to pay for quite a bit from your morning cup of coffee and refills to pool noodles! A free continental breakfast (which was discontinued) would have DEFINATELY been nice. It's nice to be able to wake up, grab breakfast and hit the parks. However, we had to look outside of the hotel as their restaurant buffet was overpriced for what you got-which probably explained why it was empty quite a bit. The hotel had a nice contingent of security guards which added a nice layer of safety to the visit. However, keep an eye on the young ones, as this monstrous pool is without lifeguards! Overall we thouroughly enjoyed our visit to Caribe Royal which was close to everything. As part of our package it was a satisfactory value; however, you'll find you have to pay for a lot of the little extras. Great family friendly atmosphere with a cool game room too! We'd go back!
Not so great
from A TripAdvisor Member
Pool not clean, food in hotel restaurants well below par and extremely overpriced! Kids running in halls late at night, collicky baby crying another night, little rest and relaxation as a result. Also room too close to elevators (ding ding all night). Extra charge for room safe.Don't buy tickets to attractions from hotel personnel. They put pressure on you to go to stupid time share seminars to get a discount on tickets for what you really want to do.Very hard sell.
Best hotel for the money in Orlando
from A TripAdvisor Member
This is our favorite hotel in the Orlando area. We've stayed at a number of other hotels in the area, but this hotel is by far the best buy. It isn't on Disney property, but is within 5 minutes. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, and the nicest feature is that every room is a suite with a separate room with a television, couch, etc. So, mom and dad could spend less money on hotel accomodations and still have a little privacy. The pool area is the best by far of any we've seen in Orlando. It's large, and our kids happily spent two days playing in the pool (complete with waterfall and waterslide) versus going to the theme parks. We have also stayed in a Villa (in addition to the suites), and these are lovely, large, well-furnished, include a well-equipped full kitchen, and are quite a good value. They also include a washer/dryer (very nice).
Great stay!!!

After researching several hotels on the internet, we decided to give The Royale Caribe a try. We were not disappointed. Our family was very pleased in the villa that we had. We were upgraded to the villa and it was awesome. Everything that you could need was there. The staff was very polite and helpfull. The property was very clean and my kids just loved the waterslide. The pool and jacuzzi was a nice touch to a long day at the park. Very convenient to all the theme parks. Just a couple of miles down the road and your there. If your hesitant about staying here, take my advise and give this hotel a chance. You wont be disappointed.
Caribe Royale great room setup
from loulan
We enjoyed the Caribe Royale for its room setup. With my two teenagers they both have their own ideas of what to watch on tv and how late to stay up so it was great having a separate room with a sofa bed and tv. This stopped all disagreements. It was great having the refrigerator as well. We had Easter Buffet at the hotel and it was fantastic. My only disappointment was the pool. It was smaller then I thought, it was very crowded, the slide was really only for young kids and the water was a bit clowdy. But that wouldn't stop me from staying here again.
Disappointed

Spend a little more money and stay on Disney property. This hotel needs some improvements. The walls are thin so get ready to hear noise from the hallways and the floor above you. The rooms are big enough but it is hard to get a good nights sleep. We had problems checking in and out. Although check in time is 3:00 we waited with 2 tired children in the lobby until 4:00 for our room to be ready. There are kids everywhere at all hours. The pool closes at 10:30 but their were kids in it well into the night. This noise is easily heard if you have a room facing the pool I wish I had ready some honest reviews before booking here. The pool area isn't anywhere as big as it appears in the pictures online and it was FULL of people the entire time we were there. It is not as close to Disney as they would like you to believe. Next time we will stay back at a Disney World Resort.

The rooms here are actually suites, so you get a "living room" area with a pull-ou bed and a bedroom. I thought they ours was very spacious, always kept clean. There was no window for the living room area, where I was sleeping, but it didn't bother me. There was a really... more
