A+ experience, October 9-13
Just wanted to write to say that after a lot of negative reviews we very pleased with our stay at this hotel. I am wondering if maybe some of the buildings are redone and some aren't. We had two connecting poolview rooms in building six and they were brand new. The bathrooms were sparkling and the beds were great. The only complaint that I have is that there were not always towels at the pool, other than that, it was fabulous. We have stayed all over in Orlando and my kids loved this place. We have even stayed at the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary Resorts as well as Hard Rock in a suite and were just as pleased with this place. The pool and grounds are lovely. You can email me any questions. We would gladly stay here again. It was such a deal and the location was very convenient!
eh...so-so
We stayed at this hotel October 4th through the 11th. They lost our original reservation when we arrived, so we didn't get the rooms we requested until the next morning. They did comp the temporary room. The rooms themselves were bigger than I had thought...the bathrooms were smaller. Some stains on the carpet (actually the carpet throughout the hotel needs to be replaced). The bathrooms were clean and the room service was great. The food was good, but pricey - I would recommend getting a short term subscription to entertainment.com for the Orlando area -- you can print out buy one get one free coupons for Cafe in the Court. The kids room had a moldy smell and the chairs looked dusty, but it's actually the velvet type fabric they have on them. They need to upgrade security in the parking lot -- the gate was down for two nights while we were there. Overall - This probabaly wouldn't be my first choice for another stay. But, it wasn't horrible ... just slightly above average.
Good Pool - Rest Bad
The only good thing about this hotel is the pool and grounds. Nice waterfall, slide & two hot tubs. Open until midnight. The rooms are way too small - especially the bathroom. Half of the front desk people are rude and the other half have no idea what they are doing. The restaurants are way too expensive. $8.00 for Burger & Fries at cafe in Lobby. Pizza Hut was reasonalbly priced $8.00 for medium 1 topping pizza - but took forever for them to make - over 30 minutes. Cafe in the Court $50.00 for breakfast for 4 adults and$90.00 for dinner for 4 adults. They also add a automatic 15% gratuity to the bill. Drinks at the pool bar & sports bar were also pricey. No vending machines - except soda. Minibars in rooms but also way overpriced. Playground is old & needs to be redone. Phone charges, internet fees, & in-room movies overpriced. Won't stay again. Would rather take my chances with Priceline next time. Then at least all the bad things are a little more bearable b/c you only paid half the price!
A horrible choice
This hotel was disgusting. The rooms and hallways smell moldy, we had bugs crawling on our bathroom sink, 1 bath towel, and dust an inch thick on the chairs. The website states "newly renovated" I don't believe it for a minute! This place looked thirty years old! The grounds were filthy too. No heated pool. Food --edible.
Great Place to Stay!
We stayed at the Radisson Resort Parkway in April, 2003. We had a pool view room. The room was larger than expected and the bathroom was huge. Our only setback was that they lost our reservations. But when we got there they upgraded our room to the pool view due to the inconvenience. Fast check-in. Nice lobby. Great restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel.
We were very pleased with our pick of this hotel! April 2003
After navigating the web for months, we finally decided to stay at the Radisson Parkway. There are so many hotels you can really go crazy picking the right one. After reading all the wonderful reviews we opted for this hotel as there were 2 families traveling. We got a great rate with with the hotel directly via the internet. I believe it was about $87.00 which included a buffet breakfast for 2 plus children under 10 ate free. I had 3 children under 10 so we really saved alot. The breakfast was very good and had a little of everything. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, ceral, biscuits and gravy. You can also request toast. There is also an omelett station and everything is freshly made. Juices and coffee/milk. Note: I didn't know that our tip was already included at breakfast, but there were several waiters that were great with their service so we would leave them extra. They also have a small pizza hut with a small dinner combined. Kids under 10 can eat free at the dinner only with an adult purchase. We also ate dinner at the restaurant. It was very nice and we had the fish and chicken and the kids ate free off the kids menu. I must say just because the kids eat free this doesn't mean that the adult food is always good or acceptable, but I have to say that everything in all the restaurants/food court was very good. I am a very picky person and am not afraid to voice my opinion to management. I can't belive it myself, but I had not one complaint to voice. Well the rooms were just like the pictures on the internet. They were small, but our room was very clean and decorative. Everything was in working condition. My children just wanted to be at the pool. They have two pools. They have a kiddle pool (small). The big pool has a slide and is not heated. They have another pool which is smaller and is heated. The landscape is beautiful and is wonderful to take your pictures. The lobby is also very nice and big especially if you have to wait. We arrived early and check in I believe was at 3:00 p.m., but we arrived at about 9:30 a.m. and asked for early check in if at all possible. They said please check back in about 2 hours and will see what we can do. Well we had our rooms at 11:30 a.m. We were very happy as we had traveled red eye and with the time change needed to get some sleep. We stayed for 8 nights during April 2003 (spring break) not too crowded. We also asked for a late check out and asked for 1:30 p.m. as check out is at 11:00 a.m. They said no problem. The only thing that can be improved is the shuttle bus to the theme parks. Everyone crowds in and some people have to stand because the bus can get really full. Also the bus takes you to the location where you need to take another bus to Blizzard Beach, Animal Kingdom, etc. So with small children I was not pleased with this and for Universal Parks there is only one bus leaving at 8:00 a.m. this was way too early for me. So we ended renting a minivan with my sister and went halfers on it. After that we were coming and going everywhere and it was much easier for us. Around the corner there is a little shopping area and they have really good reastaurants. I don't remember all the names but, we ate at the fish restaurant and the Italian restaurant and the other one that is like a Benihana with teppan tables. I recommend all 3 they were great. They also had a steak and chinese that we did not try out. If you want to do a little walking there is a Nike Outlet and some other stores and a Wendys a little further out. We would walk after our dinner as there were 8 of us and felt pretty safe. Yes we plan on going again. Yes, we would definitely stay here again. Remember if you treat the personnel with respect and a good attitude well they will do the same to you.
Bad
very bad the rooms had a bad odor, bar to expensive and bad location
Highly recommended.
Very nice hotel. Though it has 1000 rooms, it doesn't feel that big. Terrific pools -- kids loved the slide and waterfall. Could have used more lighting at the parking lot and pool at night, but otherwise fine. Looked like the best place on 192. I would stay there again.
less than expected
although the pool and service was great, the beds felt like i was sleeping on a boulder!!!!!!!
Nice amenities, very pleased
Wow...after reading Michele's review i'm really quite shocked. We stayed there 5/31 - 6/2 and we had a lovely room - 1406 - with a pool view. The room was spotless and we even walked in when the maid was changing our sheets. The lobby and pool areas are beautiful and the breakfast buffet which was part of our room package was excellent. Sorry you had a bad time, did you ask to change rooms?
