We really didnt know what to expect from the hotel but were more than pleasantly surprised. The location was excellent and gave us the best of both worlds, peaceful when needed but not far from all the attractions. The food at the hotel was of very good quality and... more

When we arrived, we were checked in without delay and given a map directing us to our room. Room seemed clean and tidy if a little cramped in the bathroom. Biggest drawback is the fact that you need the lights on even during the day because the curtains have to remain shut... more

This was our first time at the Quality Inn Plaza. It wasn't our first choice as we had really wanted a more central location on I-Drive, but as it's only a few dollars for a week's I-Ride trolley pass this wasn't really a problem. This is a fairly standard 3 star American... more

Just very dissapointed, I agree with the hotel being very handy for all parks, but that is about all that is good about it. I am by no means a snob, but this hotel was very dirty, at night time the beds felt damp, no doubt because of the lack off air. You could not open... more

No Quality
Dirty, smelly hotel. We stayed three nights in April 03 I reserved this hotel from Expedia. Web picture is clean and nice. But our room is dirty smelly old one. All blankets ripped off edge area and bed cover is dirty and smell bad. Dirty carpet and very small bathroom. Funiture is like 60 or 70's style old out dated. But I saw some rooms already renovated like web pictures. But most rooms NOT!!! If you have luck may be you get that room. But good location and plenty of parking space. No Quality Inn Thank you
woth the money - maybe??
Difficult one this, I'm just back and paid £22 a night for a week for me and my partner, you get you what you pay for springs to mind.Luckily managed to avoid the rooms next to the helicopter landing pad and the Interstate. Rooms pretty basic and not that clean, our fridge and TV were on their last legs also. However if all you need is somewhere liveable for you and your family to crash after a day at the parks it is good value. Thye povide free bus and good advice for Universal (excellent), but you have to pay for Disney bus ($14 e.a.) which drops off and picks up at all four parks and around 6 hotels (1 1\2 hours to get back from Magic Kingdom!!). The hotel doesnt sell disney tickets, instead will try to sell you a marriot membership deal in exchange for cheap tickets. Don't touch the buffet breakfast, absolute crap, but excellent multi-plex Cinema across the road in Pointe Orlando which is half the price of the in room movies.
Good Hotel
Don't be turned off by bad reviews of this hotel. I was a little leery about booking at the Quality Inn Plaza after reading some of the reviews but I went ahead and booked anyway and I was glad I did. This is a fine hotel -- the rooms are clean, hotel personnel is very attentive and helpful; they have shuttles going to both Universal and CityWalk. The location is great -- right next door there's a Houlihan's, Pizza Hut and a Sizzler. 'Would highly recommend the Sizzler! Had the breakfast buffet in the hotel and it was good, but I think cheaper at the Sizzler. No, it's not the Ritz and you don't get chocolate on your pillows but for money it's well worth it.
Mold Mold Mold
Never again. Condition of bathroom was a serious health hazard to my children. Mold growing on ceilings, floors, walls etc.. Could be a great hotel with proper management, maintenance and a cleaning crew which in no way is there at this property.
Great place to stay
Stayed in the Quality Inn Plaza in September 2002. Had a great time. The hotel is perfect - near shopping, restaurants, in a very good location in International Drive. The I-Ride Trolley drops you off right outside and picks u up directly across the road. The rooms were cleaned every day without fail, and very early, which was sometimes even a nuisance if we wanted a lie-in! But being Orlando we were up early most mornings. The lite-bite was very convenient for snacks, lovely gift shop, nice food in the sports bar. Didn't eat in the buffet restaurant - went to the Ponderosa instead! The pools were lovely and the area around them kept very clean. Our room was facing over the interstate, not directly, but there was some noise, but we got used to this so it wasn't a permanent problem. The room was very clean, with REALLY comfortable beds, perfect after a day walking around the parks. It had a microwave and fridge and the TV channels were excellent. The hotel has a free shuttle to the Universal and Sea World parks, and a bus to Disney stops at certain times in the day which I think costs $11 return, tickets are available at the hotel. All in all, I would definitely reccomend a stay here - very good value, clean and convenient. One thing about Orlando - don't eat in Burger King International Drive! It gave me very bad food poisoning!!
Avoid this place at all costs
We have just returned from a 2 week vacation to Orlando, unfortunately I made the mistake of booking the Quality Inn Plaza. We only stayed there the first night because it was late and were too tired to find another hotel. The room was dirty, bathroom dirty, beds disgusting. Anyone who rates this hotel highly has never stayed at a decent clean hotel. We moved to the Wyndham Resort the next morning and had a great holiday from then on.. take my advice you will regret booking the Quality Inn Plaza
Wish I Had Read Trip Advisor
I really wish I had read some of the reviews on Trip Advisor "before" I made my reservations at this hotel. The Quality Inn Plaza does have very inexpensive rooms and you do usually get what you pay for. I should have known. My stay was in June 2003. The room was average--bedding was a little below average. The blanket on my bed was really sad--very worn. The room was on the backside of building B--right next to the interstate. It was extremely noisey. I would compare the sound to a thunderous waterfall. My daughter heard the noise on the phone when I called home! That's how loud it was. She said it sounded like an airport when the planes were taking off. I tend to agree. It was also right next to a helicopter tour that took off every 5 minutes! The pool near our room was packed with kids. Very loud! Some of the desk clerks were not very friendly. Others were nice. It was very hot and uncomfortable in the lobby, gift shop and especially the restaurant. My biggest complaint was with the restaurant. We did file a complaint with the hotel about the food on the breakfast buffet. We ate there 2 mornings as we didn't feel up to walking to another restaurant in the smothering heat. Trolleys were not reliable. Bought a 5 day pass for $5 but only caught a trolley 3 times. They were always full and the wait was way too long. Should have walked somewhere for breakfast that second day. Day one the biscuits were very dry and hard. The bacon was limp and under cooked. Had to pick around to find pieces that I thought would be safe to eat. Before we were finished eating the bus boy started cleaning the table! He raked the scraps left on my plate into another plate right in front of me--before he removed it from the table. He then proceeded to clean the table with a wet cloth. And my friend across the table was still eating! The second day was worse. Same dry hard biscuits and the sausage was white on one side and burnt on the other. I was afraid to eat it. Fearing food poison! The folks at the next table also complained and were brought a plate of cooked bacon but the raw sausage remained on the buffet. I have eaten in restaurants all over the Southeastern USA and this was the worst breakfast food I have ever encountered. We didn't try the dinner buffet so I can't say how that was. If you are older folks travelling without children and like a quiet place to rest you might want to skip this hotel. But if you are looking for a below to average inexpensive hotel just be sure to request a room away from the interstate and helicopter landing pad!
Horrible Experience
This had to be the single worst experience I've ever had in all of my travels. They messed up our reservations, had to send us to another hotel our first night there, then didn't want to reimburse us for the cost. Took them 3 days to "investigate" the incident and finally get it straightened out. The room was filthy, hair in the tub, bed spread was dirty, unidentifiable messed on the walls.
Excellent hotel
Great rooms really clean good quality hotel. We stopped for a week and had an excellent stay at the Quality Inn Plaza. Great location on international drive close to all attractions. Would stay at the Quality Inn Plaza every time.
Say "Never Again' to the Quality Inn!
I purchased this hotel from Priceline. I understand the bidding rules and I am *no where* near being a hotel snob. I am prefectly happy in a motel 6 or super 8 type quality--all I require basically is a clean, cheap, comfortable place to sleep, which is exactly the 2 star category I was expecting. (no ammentities, clean, small, efficient, just a place to sleep & shower). The hotel cost me $40 a night including taxes, I paid for a room from June 7th-Jun 10th (checking out on the 11th).The staff was unfriendly, which one of the first things we noticed.Priceline said it was located in the Universal area, but it is decently far removed from the real main hot spots on International Drive. If we didn't have a car it would have been a pain to get to the things we wanted to see. I know they offer a free shuttle to Universal & a pay Shuttle to Disney, but we can't speak for the service since we drove ourselves everywhere. We didn't mind the distance THAT much but I can see how it might be a problem for those without their own transportation. The first thing that greeted me when I walked in our room #1207 was the musty odor that I would not be able to escape for the next 2 days. It was a non-smoking room so I have no idea what made it smell the way it smelled.....yuk! I happen to have some airfreshener in my bag which came in handy. I wanted to douse the entire room in lysol & bleach. The furnishings are old and the carpet is painfully worn. The typical floral hotel patterned bedspreads are a teal color, the paintings drab & matching in that tacky pre-fabricated factory-direct decorated way. The television is ancient but in working order. My husband and I tried to rent a movie the first night (National Security, which was really funny by the way!) but the hotel has it set up so you have to go down to the front lobby in order to rent a movie & pay for it upfront, which is a pain when your unwinding in the evening & the whole point of relaxing to pay per view is having the convinience dged down & paid our $11.00 & went up to watch our movie. When it came time to crawl under the covers, I pulled them back with the lights turned on, and found short dark wirey hair, a few strands in one of the double beds (could have been from a housekeeper changed the sheets and hair falling off of their head, or from the unspeakable....), and in the other, a long dark hair laying in plain sight on the secondary blanket. EWWWWWWW! I ended up taking all of the covers off the bed & requesting new sheets from housekeeping. we changed the sheets ourselves & sleep only in the sheets, I refused to let those hair blankets touch my skin. The matresses are wimpy and thin, the pillows feel almost as if they are filled with air and the outcasing is a strange plastic/vinyl type texture, causing the pillow cases to try & slip off.As if the bed-hair shannanigans weren't enough, I also found a couple of small hairs on the vanity in front of the sink. I happened to have some beach towels with me that we used, I didn't even want to try using the bath towels. We didn't notice any sound of the neighbors, so either the walls were not thin or we just got lucky with quiet neighbors. We paid for 4 nights but ended up leaving after the morning of 2 nights, (we had spent as much daytime as possible AWAY from the room). We just wanted to get out of that stink hole as soon as possible. I lost $80 on the deal by leaving 2 nights early, but it was worth not to have to spend another night with the dreaded room smell, the flimsy beds, or having any 'hair' raising night mares about our germs and unacceptable cleanliness!I learned my lesson......just say 'never again' to the Quality Inn!~
