Hyatt Place Orlando/Convention Center

I booked two rooms at the Amerisuites Orlando Convention Center for one night on 3/29/07 through Priceline. The lowest price I found on Travelocity or Expedia for this room was $129, I paid $35 through Priceline. Definitely a good deal! Since the hotel is under renovation, the first floor lobby is pretty much in shambles. The wallpaper has been stripped and the trim and molding are currently being painted a dark brown/black color. We stayed at the Amerisuites for only one night. I can not say enough about this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. the rooms were gorgeous. The furniture is all new and made of dark wood. The faucets are a brushed pewter. The bed was very comfy. The 42" HD TV was excellent. My husband didn't want to leave the hotel. The hotel is very clean and offers coffee and tea in the lobby. We had to check out too early to enjoy breakfast. The all you can eat Lobster place is right next door. We will definitely be returning.

Rooms were clean and pretty basic for an Amerisuites...but it was clear they were in the early stages of renovating the hotel. The pictures of what it looks like now would seem to indicate the hotel is much much nicer than when I was there. Nevertheless service was already pretty good and the breakfast was one of the better i've had that was free.

I stayed at the AmeriSuites located on International Drive on 12/30/2006 and 12/31/2006. I paid $73 a night on a bidding website. To be honest, I was a tad worried before arriving at the hotel. I usually stay at Royal Pacific Resort or Hard Rock Hotel, but they were $299 - $349 a night for the 2 nights I wanted to stay. I was worried that the AmeriSuites (rated 2.5 stars on the bidding site) was going to be a complete dump, especially after reading some of the reviews here on this site. Stayed through a bidding site and paid $41 a night. A great deal considering the breakfast - scrambled and boiled) eggs, sausage,patties, bagels, make your own waffles- is included. Great location, clean pool, friendly staff. The top TWO floors 6 and 7- .are currently being renovated but I can't hear anything down here on the 3rd floor. Rreally can't beat it! I'm usually not one to complain when writing these reviews (I stay in hotels fairly often), but this was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. I think I'm fairly reasonable and usually give most places good reviews. This hotel was selected by a popular bid for travel site for a price of $44 per night for an original three night stay. We had a small suite, but the hotel is under renovation to become "Hyatt Place" and this is causing havoc for current guests. This hotel is in a great location, just a little off the main road. Has a great entrance from Universal Dr. so you don't have to mess with the traffic from International Dr. There is a sofabed, chair end tables and coffee table in living area. Also a desk, microwave and refrigerator. The room was really clean. Carpet looked brand new. Pool is shaded most of the day by the building. The breakfast bar has alot of food, but the bagels were hard and the eggs rubbery. The make your own waffles were really good. I would definately stay here again.

After reading the previous reviews of this facility, I was VERY nervous about staying here! I reserved this hotel thru Priceline for $35/night for 4 nights in Dec 05 (Dec 13 - 16), then we went to a condo for 7 nights, and came back to Amerisuites for our remaining 4 nights (Dec 24 - 27). We stayed at this hotel in late december and early January we stayed a total of 10 nights but split into 2 stays as we went to the florida keys in between. But you would not believe it they had reservations under the wrong name the first time even though on the confirmation slip it had the right name. Then the second time we stayed they had cancelled the reservation because the name the first timw was wrong and did not bother to rebook the room. I was able to get this Amerisuites for $49 per night on Priceline. Once I saw the reviews, I was terrified that my husband and I were going to be miserable for 14 total nights. I am quite pleased to report that many of these reviews paint a very unfair portrait of this clean, quiet hotel. Check in was efficient, but then again we were the only ones checking it at the time.
