Florida Mall Hotel

We stayed here at the Florida Mall Hotel for Halloween Horror Nights and our stay was a happy one!!! Tatiana at the front desk was a pleasure...She was so very Precious and she wasn't even feeling well when we checked in...She felt much better at check out and she was even more lovely and gracious then I could have imagined...The rooms were kind of small but very comfortable, especially the bed...I would have rated this Hotel as excellent in every way for the value, however...There was no bathroom fan for circulation, and the bathroom sink faucet was kind of dirty looking underneath...Last but not least we called down and asked the front desk if they had a hot tub and after being at Universal Studios all day was much anticipated...So we proceeded to get our bathing suits on and made our way down to the pool area and the hot tub was boarded up...I was not the happiest camper at this point to say the least LOL...I didn't see the point in complaining to them about it though, what good what it have done? We went swimming instead and it was great after all and then soaked in the tub in our room (which never runs out of hot water I may add) So that is my only real complaint about our stay there...From the time we arrived they took good care of us (especially Tataina) and the room was comfortable and had a great view...For the price, I will return and stay with them again gladly when I'm in Orlando for a stay of any length of time...

Beautiful hotel attached to huge shopping mall. If you are going to Disneyworld, buy your tickets inside the mall when you get there, not online like I did. Much cheaper in the mall. Trust me! Zac the doorman was extraordinarily helpful and there is a shuttle bus to Disneyworld in the mornings. We arrived in the afternoon so the cab cost US$45 each way. Well worth the money! We asked for non smoking rooms and one of the rooms smelled badly of smoke despite it being a non-smoking room. I insisted on changing rooms and was met by some resisitance from the young woman on the desk. I found her difficult on several occasions. I maintained that I wanted another room and eventually she provided one. Unpleasant to say the least! The aqua massager inside the mall was wonderful after several long flights, highly recommended! Enjoyed the stay, would stay again!

This was my first visit to Orlando and the Florida Mall Hotel did not dissappoint. The location was great, right next to the Florida Mall. The room view was great. The staff was great and very friendly. I enjoyed the pool and sun every morning. I will certainly return to this great City and Hotel again! Thanks

This was really a surprise. The lobby was great, rooms newly renovated and the staff was fantastic. Liked the free internet access as well. Keep up the good work !

I stayed at the Florida Mall Hotel on July 23, 2005. I don't know where to begin on this nightmarish of a hotel. First of all, our room was not ready at the 3:00 gauranteed time. The purpose of my trip was to do some school shopping for my 7 year old daughter. I also had my 21 month old son with me as well. I was promised that my upgraded room would be available at 3:00. When I returned to the hotel after some light shopping, my son was more than ready for a nap. Well, no room. Not even an apology! This was from the manager "Joey". Then I checked again 15 minutes later and still no room. I begged for them to give me my room and explained that my son was tired and needed a diaper change. Still being very rude Tatiana told me they would notify me when it was ready. I waited another 15 minutes and looked over at the desk and there was Joey pointing his finger at me and talking to Tatiana. They saw me watching them, but continued to ignore me. I can't begin to tell you how rude this all was. Finally after 35 minutes past my arrival time they give me my room key, but ask me to not go to my room that it still was not clean. I asked why and they said the people before me checked out late. So I asked why people are allowed to check out late but are not allowed to check in early. So I go up to my room and wait in the hallway for another half hour with a sleepy baby. By the time I finally got into the room I was ready to go home! The bad time kept coming when we discovered the air conditioner was not working properly and everyone staying there was complaining about how the rooms did not cool off enough. The coffee pot did not work nor did the hair dryer. And last, but not least, I can't forget to mention the lovely elevators (or lack thereof). Only one of four elevators were working and the wait just to get up to the room was well over 15 minutes. Yeah- that's right. Every time I wanted to go down or up it was over 15 minutes. I would have been content with the stairs, but come on I have a baby and a stroller! So needless to say my excursion to the Florida Mall was more a battle to survive. This hotel is horrible. I've never written a review about any hotel before, but I felt compelled to warn the public about this place. I usually stay at the Crowne Plaza and for the same price the difference is like being in heaven or in hell. That's the simple truth. In closing I tried to contact the manager of the hotel. He did apologize to me and said to "call him" when we are in town again and he will "take care of us". Gee Whiz thanks, but no no thanks. I don't think my sanity could make it through another stay at motel hell.

Having read recent reviews on the Florida Mall Hotel, we decided to book on the premise that most of them were favourable. We were not disappointed. Despite there being upgrading of the premises going on, we were not disturbed by it at any time. Our room, on the 9th floor, was very quiet, and that's with the elevator being right beside us! In fact, we returned to the hotel for the last couple of nights of our stay because it was so convenient. The Florida Mall is used quite extensively by businessmen holding seminars as well as tourists. The rooms are quite well proportioned, we had a lovely king size bed, fridge, safe, and a decent bathroom. The hotel could not be better positioned as regards shopping - there is just a short walk - and I mean short! - from the hotel foyer into the Florida Mall. There is a small bistro on site where you can get meals, and also a bar. This is the one disappointing feature - it is low lit, darkly furnished and not very welcoming - perhaps it is still in line for renovation - I hope so! The outside pool and jacuzzi area is pleasant, and there is a small but adequate gym with treadmills, cross trainer, cycling machines, stepper and weights.

We weren't expecting much for $80 a night. Boy were we in for a treat. This hotel is REALLY REALLY nice and is and incredible value. The rooms are very clean and very nicely decorated. No tacky multicolored bedsheets. The bathroom had a nice big tub. Lots of extras were available such as internet access from your room, free cable and even a playstation. We had a nice big comfy king size bed. The hotel has a lounge and restaurant and is connected to the florida mall which is great if you want to do some shopping. It is a little further away from the parks than many of the other chain hotels, but boy is it worth it. Next time we go to Orlando this is where we are staying!

Staff Great staff. Very friendly and accommodating. Even though they were young, they were professional, upbeat, knowledgeable of the area and went out of their way to help us find things. This was refreshing for the usual snotty staff at better class hotels. Eric and Melissa acted as personal concierges. Well trained and an asset to the management of this facility! Hotel The hotel is under a considerable amount of renovation. From the valet area (the attendants "Berta" and Clim are two very odd people), lobby, hallways to the rooms, everything was being renovated. Most of the work was being done at night but there was a lot of foot-traffic messes. It had some beautiful paintings and chandeliers as well as a elegant look to the colors and materials. For a Florida hotel, it looked like it disserved its ratings. Someday... Room We checked in around 3. Or room was on the 3rd floor, the hallway and room smelled like smoke. All the doors on that hallway read "No smoking room". I'm an ex smoker and the smell doesn't normally bother me but it smelled like someone smoking near by. Friends also had to move room. Also verbally promised a King but was given doubles. We were quickly offered a different room. This was a King on the 9th floor. MUCH nicer. No changes in rate and the staff actually met us at our room so we didn't have to come down stairs. Recommend the higher floors. The view out of the large windows overlooking downtown Orlando was spectacular. Amenities Pool was nice and clean. Private exercise room well stocked. Lots of fresh towels available. The jacuzzi, just like all jacuzzis it seems... was too hot. 102F. Just a preference though. The bar had good drinks and friendly staff. Pricing You pay for the location. The lobby area serves as kind of a private entrance to the Florida Mall. We paid low $140's for the entire night (taxes etc). The staff, a good room, and location make it worth the price. But I would pick another hotel if all the renovation work isn't done when you visit.

We stayed at the Florida Mall Hotel for 1 night over Memorial Day and it was much nicer than I expected. We did get a remodeled room. The rooms have a fridge which is very nice. This hotel was not 5 Star, but it was not bad for $80.00 considering the Travelodge 2 miles was $75.00. When I saw the other hotels in the surrounding area was very glad I was staying at the Florida Mall Hotel.

we stayed at this hotel for two weeks after getting a deal from a local travel agent i had read the previous reviews and was a little worried. the hotel was fine we stayed on the 6th floor we only saw our room for sleeping as we were like all other tourists to orlando , up and out seeing only half of what was to be seen in the time we had. we had a great time the hotel was easy to get to it was clean and comfortable the staff were helpfull and the shopping was great
