Neptune Spa Hotel

Just returned from a 2 week stay at the Neptune Hotels on Kos and I can safely say it is one of the nicest, cleanest and friendliest hotels I have ever been to. The staff were absolutely brilliant and would do anything for you, they were always polite and helpful, a real credit. There were 5 pools (we found the main pool to be the least crowded) but all were clean and large. The beach is just lovely, few stones as you walk into sea but the sea really is nice. The food too was great, loads of choice, salads probabaly best, lovely restaurants (Osteria is lovely). Mostly German guests so shows and films are all in German, it didn't bother us. However, apparently the animation team left a lot to be desired, children wandering around who were under their supervsiion. Also, I recommend a nice bar just outside the complex. All in all, a fabulous, magnificent place that we would love to visit again.

Just got around to writing this review. Stayed here with my husband in May on a half board basis, as he had a knee repalcement 4 weeks previous. Needed a well earned rest and this was what we got. The staff at this hotel are very courteous and can not do enough for you. I requested a room near the main restaurant (so that he did not have to walk to far) and this was done without hesitation. The complex itself is on the edge of the sea and has four pools, all of which very good. The pool by the restaurant ideal for us and was very quiet with only ourselves and another couple there all day. The availability of sun beds was not a problem either as you could have a choice of 30 or so!. I used the spa and the spa treatment was very professional; the staff in the spa know what they are doing and are only to pleased to help. The food was varied and you could always find something to your taste. There is a well stocked supermarket on site and as you have a fridge in your room; a glass of wine on the balcolny is a must before dinner. In the evening there is the piano bar which is very relaxing. We hired a car and toured the island which is another must and the main town is very pretty and there are some bargains to be had duty free wise. As this was not the height of the season there were only couples and families with very young children staying at the hotel, however I could not help note that there seemed to be an excellent play area for the children and most of the families remained around the pools adjacent to it. I would definately stay here again and I have recommened it to my boss who is going there for his summer hols.

tripadvisor wilstead england uk we have just returned from our second visit to the neptune (18th may-1st june) the last time was sept 2005 it was good then but this hotel is not one to sit back on its laurels, they have spent the winter improving many things and they still have an excellent staff,we will be back next year,many thanks to all the staff for making our holiday so memorable

Just back from stay to celebrate my 40th birthday with husband and 4 yr old son. Wonderful hotel, with fantastic facilities and friendly staff. Only 15% of clientale are non-german, but this in our opinion made for a better holiday. No language problem as all staff speak english, although bear in mind most of the children in the clubs will be german. Hotel facilities are great with so much choice that you do not need to venture out of the hotel. Spa and treatments are second to none (and I am a therapist!)so do experience one but book prior to going if you can. Rooms are spacious, well designed, very clean and kept immaculate in presentation. I would go for a suite or apartment if you can as these are only a slight increase. Main buffet restaurant is surprising good, even having a children buffet too so they can serve themselves. You can also eat Greek, Italian (superb), or gourmet. Room service is great (club sandwich with fries 5 euros). Food is very reasonably priced and go for happy hour for half price cocktails. Non greek wine tends to be more expensive. Beach is great for all with gentle slope and sand bar about 10 feet in for edge. Non motorised watersports are excellent with hobbies, wind surfing etc.. We found no fault with this hotel and have travelled all over the world. They are constantly improving and keeping it to a 5 star level. It would be nice to have some english TV and music channels especially when you have kids.

Fantastic place, although not for people expecting a great night life. The restaurant is very good and the pools are brilliant. No fight for the sun beds! ( Surprise as most holiday makers are from Germany). We recommend the Taverna outside the complex near the car park. The staff are very friendly and you get the best greek salad around. (The beer is cheaper too, then in the Hotel) We will go back to this Hotel!

stayed there with my wife and two young children. there are many pools to choose from (just grab a chair early). beach was an easy walk and was very clean and great. food was so-so. going out to a local town with run you about eur 8-15 and you can eat at your choice of locations (we ate very low key) and get authentic greek fare. kid club was great. highly recommend for families with young kids. no kids i'd find somewhere else.

A beautiful and quiet hotel set in a beautiful landscape (lots of green) and with a great infrastructure (pools -outdoor AND indoor-, fitness, spa, activities, entertainment, small shops). Great sandy beach too. As stated by previous reviews there are mainly german tourists and everything is in german (all magazines and newspapers but for a few english tabloids) but the staff does speak english and a few speak french at the reception. We took half-board and diner was not great : not much variety even for greek specialities and not up to a 5* standard. However their italian restaurant is wonderful. Best penne siciliana ever. The greek tavern is also excellent. Our room was fine but the AC was not working. Fortunately we didn't need it. We would definitely go again if we wanted to spend a week relaxing and doing nothing.

Wonderul hotel! Well deserving of it's 5 stars. Food is wonderful and although chips is available it's wonderful to see somewhere with a variety of food so there is choice. with 5 swimming pools, with 4 or 5 restaurants, numerous bars, disco, theatre, watersports, children waterpark, bike hire, inline skating, squash, tennis and the spa, you can do as much or as little as you want. A wonderful place to go as a family, a couple or with friends. They do lean more towards the German clients, but it's good as it makes us brits realise we are not the only ones who take holidays! All staff can speak English though and there were no problems here. Highly recommended!!

This is without doubt a wonderful family hotel. It justifies its 5* status though it is not 5* star delux. The service could not be faulted, The rooms were of a good size and there was plenty to entertain children though if the hotel wishes to appeal more to English speaking clients then it needs to do something about the animations and TV which are biased towards the predominantly German clientel. We have stayed at a good number of good hotels around the world and this was one of the best for families. You do need a car if you want to venture out of the hotel which is fairly isolated. There are a number of restaurants within the hotel though the service at some needs some attention, in particular the Italian Restaurant. We would sugest B & B and get out in the hills. All in all however, a great holiday. You will not be disappointed. Go for it!

Went here on holiday in may 2004. A beautiful hotel (lots of green, lots of space, nice rooms, good food-variety, clean, friendly staff and a variety of things to do : fitness, musical, film, beach-and water sports,...). There's only 1 "negative" point : the hotel is mainly fixated on german tourists ( 95 % of the guests were german - don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against the germans - all our co-guests were very polite and nice people); but the animation team is all-german, the movies they show are recent, but they are dubbed in german with english sub-titles (Sean Connery dubbed in german isn't quite the same), everybody assumes that you're german... Our 5-year old son couldn't relate to the animation team because they didn't know how to speak dutch. Never the less this is a small criticism ; we had a super holiday ! Kos, altough a small island, is very beautiful en authentic. Hotel personnel and native people are more friendly then in (the bigger) Crete. We really recommend the hotel ! (Especially if you're german ;-) ) PS : the hotel has a SUPER italian restaurant Osteria (pizza's made in original oven).
