My fiancé and I booked last minute...
10 / 10
Jun 2007, Miss N Allinson

My fiancé and I booked last minute with Thomas cook and paid £443.00 for one week HB at the hotel Cennet.
When we arrived the rep told us we had been overbooked! So they upgraded us! Wow what an upgrade!
The hotel Hemera was stunning; the food was delicious and themed on some nights!
The pools were immaculate and the rooms were spotless didn't stop smiling all week it was by far the best holiday ever!
The hotel Hemera is rated at a 4* but it well and truly deserves a 5*. I can't wait to book again for next year!
We don't have any kids but if we had they would have had the time of their lives! The animation team were brilliant and the kids were kept busy from 9-30 in the morning till 9-30 at night! So the parents had time to relax and enjoy their holiday too!
The Turkish people are lovely and haggling is a must! Don’t forget to have a Turkish bath too! Go to side in turkey! You won't regret it!

Jun 2007, Mr D Smith

Just been back to the Hemera after only a few weeks back in May, where we took our adult children.
So me and my wife went back for a week’s peace and quiet from the 10th to the 17th June.
I can add anything to the other reviews only that me and my wife tried the seafood restaurant and it was very good just as good or better than the other 2 free a la cartes.
Also a beach party was on the last Saturday before we left which was also great fun with a foam party on the beach added in. I will be back in September.

Superb - Fantastic - Wonderful....

Jun 2007, Mr I Howarth

Superb - Fantastic - Wonderful. Honestly this was a great holiday; the only thing that spoilt it was we only had 7 days there.
We booked this last minute based on the very good reviews on the various web sites.
We were upgraded to a family room FOC by Thomas Cook and the room was amazing, just been fully refurbished (I think all the hotel has to be honest, as everything was immaculate).
Lovely wood floors, stylish bathroom with double super power shower, hair dryer, loads of towels replace daily. The room had loads of built in wardrobes, free safe, twin beds in one area then through to a separate area with king-size bed with the dreamiest soft pillows you will ever find.
Dressing table, kettle, and mini fridge stocked daily with soft drinks, reading chair and bedside cabinets. All very nicely furnished in a modern contemporary style. Individual Air con in each part of the room, balcony (sorry for warbling but it was really that good and on a par/better than 5 star hotels in Europe).
The hotel is on a fairly compact site so nothing is more than 5 minutes walk - Beach and the strip of shops and bars/cafes across the road. The pools were great, 2 water slides for the kids (and grownups) very clean and warm and plenty of games if you wanted to get involved.
The Animation team were great with everyone, they didn't hassle you if you did not want to join in but took time out to chat to people and were all really nice.
Food was good, we ate in the buffet restaurant quite a lot and the choice was varied - we also booked in the Turkish and International restaurants (FREE) but gave the fish restaurant a miss as no one we knew had tried it (it may be very nice).
We booked one trip across the road in the local shopping mall and it was the River rafting with Prestige Rafting. Please do this trip - it cost £10 each and was one of the best fun things I have ever done. We had a really good laugh, some adrenalin moments, lunch, and return coach trip from hotel - a full day’s entertainment for £10.
We also did the Flying Fish on the beach just to the left when you exit the hotel on the beach. If you like being terrified and hanging on for dear life then give it a go - It was fun but I don't think I'll try it again.
We walked down to Side via the beach one afternoon but ran out of time to see a lot so worth a visit next time we go.
The resort is full of German and Russian and Dutch tourists so not too many Brits but that did not bother us, we met quite a few Brits in the hotel and every single one of them is going back next year, some have already been two or three times.
We are looking to book for two weeks next year at end of May.
What more can I say - you can drink 24/7 and many of the spirits are international brands, the beer is good Efes pilsen, the wine was decent too. Truly ALL INCLUSIVE.
The only money we spent in the hotel was in the spa - body peel, face pack, and massage which was worth every penny - oh and the Hotels Photographers, they will catch you and you will probably buy a few piccies as they are very flattering.
If you are thinking of going to Side then book this hotel, you will not be disappointed.

What can I say that hasn't already been said, this is a brilliant 4 star hotel and one we shall return to if we visit Side again.
We normally visit 5 star hotels but booked the Hemera because of its excellent reviews, we were not disappointed.
The animation team did a great job, a special mention for Robin and Maria (from Ukraine), and thanks Robin for seeing us off when we left.

What more can I say than what has been said. This hotel is amazing.
New pool new apartments. All new restaurant layouts, another ala carte restaurant.
This hotel will get 5 stars rating this year I’m sure of it, so book it before it does. Cannot believe how much has been done since November.
The animation team still on top form, Ali, Scooby, Robin, Turgay, etc.
Got back yesterday. Will be booking our 3rd visit asap.

Great hotel. Great people. Great facilities. Great time had by all!
I have never returned to the same place twice but we may be making an exception for the Hemera hotel.
Me my partner and the 3 children had a fantastic time, we made new friends and even shed a few tears on saying goodbye.
The staff were brilliant, the animation team are so friendly and so much fun.
The hotel has only just re-opened after it's overhaul and even though it wasn't quite finished (a few bits of work still going on) it was still a great place to stay.
Highly recommend this hotel to anyone - with or without kids!

Jan 2007, Miss CR Orrock

I really enjoyed my holiday at the Hemera. I had a fantastic time, all of the staff were friendly and the animation team were fantastic with all age groups, from youngsters, to teenagers and even the mums and dads.
The hotel accommodated for everyone, where there was always something going on around the pool, and if you fancied a bit of piece and quiet, the beach is a great place to escape to, even though it was a bit hot mid afternoon.
There was watersports and activities available all day long and ice cream from 5pm till 6.
The shows that were put on for the guests every night were fabulous, as there was always something new to watch and allowed the guests to take part in them and get up and dance.
There was plenty to see and do, and me as a teenager at 16, there was plenty of night life to take part in, the bars just outside the resort where you cold go and have a dance until the early hours of the morning and especially the golden fizz, where me and my friends who I met, ventured to every night to see all of the bar staff who were very friendly and up for a party.
The food was great for the first week or so, even though it did get a little repetitive, there was still plenty to choose from and the waiting staff were great, getting you drinks at the drop of a hat.
Overall I can say this was my favourite holiday of all, with the people I met over there and the friendships I made, it is well worth a trip.

It is very good. Just returned from...

Nov 2006, Mr R Walton

It is very good. Just returned from the Hemera, it was our first time there and already we are surfing the net to find a quote for May 07.
We have three children ranging from 2-14, they had a fantastic time. The animation team are great with the kids and adults alike. The evening entertainment is excellent, from sketch shows to Russian dancing. We met some great people who we have already been in touch with.
The food was good and the breakfast pancakes were wonderful. For the first 5 days there was rain (and I mean RAIN) but there was still enough to do with the animation team if you chose to.
The indoor pool was very cold but towards the end of our holiday it was warmer.
All in all a fantastic holiday we cannot wait to return. My two year old Archie keeps saying "I love you mate." As this is all the animation kept telling him, rather embarrassing when you are in Morrison’s shopping-(ha- ha.)
Hopefully he will be back at the Hemera in May. We all can’t wait.

Hemera is a fine hotel set in...

Oct 2006, Mr D Southall

Hemera is a fine hotel set in beautiful gardens that wind down to their own private section of the beach. The beach itself is nice and sandy with very few pebbles/rocks. The section of the beach belonging to Hemera is excellent - the best along that stretch. There is no charge for Hemera beds and umbrellas. There is a multitude of water sports from canoes and pedalos to banana/ringos/fly fish and also plenty of paragliding and jet skis.
Hemera is an all inclusive hotel and food and drink are plentiful - almost 24 hours a day. We had a wide variety of choice and always found something we liked, day and night. The food was plentiful and you could return for 2nd's if you were still hungry. We made a point of enjoying the meal times. Five courses from soup to salad/pasta then main course (s), wide choice of desserts and finish with coffee and fruit/cheese. The wine flowed freely throughout the meal! We tried the Sofra (Turkish) specialty restaurant and it was excellent - they make a fuss of you so why not leave a small tip - its well deserved by the staff. Hotel bars near both the beach and pool. Also a large aquarium bar and the main reception bar. Plenty of choice with some quieter than others. Very good evening entertainment shows by the on-site team and some local acts.

Plenty of entertainment throughout the day around the pool and the beach areas. The pool itself is massive and kept really clean. There is a separate kids pool as well. Plenty of beds and umbrellas. Also free towels that you can change every day or so at no charge. No need to pack your case with beach towels.
All in all this is a very good hotel. Clean, bright and very well run. It is rated 4 star and is worth every one. From November 06 to March 07 they are redecorating and refurbishing including all of the (already very good quality) rooms. I believe that they are putting in a sound proof nightclub for guests only so you can stay up drinking after 1 am (time current bars close) The reception assured me that this will be discreet and out of the way with no noise disturbance to other guests. The upgrade will make it 5 star. We hope to go back next year!
The reviews for this hotel do not lie. It is fantastic and well worth a visit. Try Side, Manavgat and Kumcoy whilst you are here - all decent days out as are the gullet and boat trips, white water rafting etc.

Side is a great place if you want...

Oct 2006, Mrs S Norman

Side is a great place if you want sun, sea and sand. Hemera Hotel was a great choice to deliver all these things and much more. This hotel is a great place for both couples and families. The food was good and was served over quite a flexible time frame, there was a lot of variety which included both Turkish food and also European style of foods to cater for the less adventurous palates.
The hospitality was very good, laundry/cleaning service was good and very flexible, and there were a variety of in-door shops which provided normal day to day items you might need to purchase (like swim wear, snacks, batteries etc) and also services such as hair dressers, Turkish baths/shaves, manicures, pedicures etc, lots to choose from! They also had an excellent out door pool, and a very basic gym for those who wanted to keep trim. Also, the bars operated up until or around 11pm - 1am. If you wanted to continue drinking then there are always bars nearby which are open till 5am or later near the hotel - which means that Hemera is also very convenient!
The accommodation itself was very basic and I would rate it as 3 stars rather than 5 stars, but it was very clean and therefore satisfactory, although the rest of the hotel itself (restaurants, reception area etc) was decorated to very high standards and I would definitely give top marks there.
And if you wanted to add adventure to your visit - there are a few excursions available, plus, the ruins on the south coast of Side (a short and cheap taxi ride from the hotel) are also worth seeing.
If like me, you prefer it to be little quieter with less children around here at the Hemera hotel, and a more moderate weather of around 27-30 degrees c, then I would recommend September onwards as being an ideal/perfect time.

Sep 2006, Miss G Bartley

Well where shall I start. I have had the best holiday I have ever had thanks to Ali and Robin, the only bad point was having to say goodbye. These two from the animation team worked their socks off to make sure everyone was having a good time and felt included. The animation team offered something for everyone ranging from the kids club to water polo, darts and also learning a few phrases in Turkish, which went down a treat with the staff.
The rooms are fine, I can't see why the hotel is closing down for refurbishment as it is amazing already. I did see the new rooms and the bathroom was re done and the flooring was laminate instead of carpet. But overall the rooms are fine.
The facilities offered at the hotel are perfect for everyone, shade, gardens, beach and pool - what more can you wish for. I hope to book to return next year soon.
Have a nice time especially with Ali and Robin!
