Do Not Book...
Before going we searched websites and looked at holiday deals/hotels, and we choose the Blue Bay's Deluxe because we thought for the price looks good. First big mistake. On pulling up to the hotel are hearts literally sank and we could feel the other people in the bus thinking 'I'm glad this isn't me' - first impressions are not good. Walking into the hotel is a bit like walking into a shopping mall, the coffee shop (main hotel bar) on the right, then you walk up the the information desk. They ushered us quickly into the dining room so that we would be in time for dinner - really don't know why they bothered it was apalling with no drinks offered. The main bar is a few tables gathered together, it took my husband 15-20 minutes to be served and then the choice was beer, gin, vodka or brandy (but of course they had temporarily run out of vodka and brandy 9:45pm). When I finally received a vodka and orange it was almost like drinking paint stripper and my husband said the beer was very watered down. The room was clean, the beds sagged slightly in the middle - we had also asked for a double but got two small single beds. The staff were not that helpful and very slow with everything. The pool area is very small, and the thought of lying around it or even swimming in what looked not a very clean pool was terrible. This hotel is most definately not a 5 star and it would be generous giving it 2. We bit the bullet and booked in at another hotel the next day, there were other people who either went to stay with friends or booked somewhere else.
Excellent all round
This hotel is fantastic, the service was excellent, staff very friendly couldnt do enough for you,we even wanted to adopt one waiter. If you have a chance to stay here you will love it.We went with our 14 month old girl and even though it was out of season and not many shops/bars open the staff at the Blue Bays Deluxe hotel were enough to keep us entertained. The facilites were amazing and was treated first class,if you ever get to meet Gihan,Immi and Mustaffa then you will see what i mean, the nicest people you could ever meet. We would love to go back there, maybe in the peak season and see everyone again. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone. You must check out Faros, across from the hotel, fantastic place and anyone up for a bit of a cheeky quiz night with "Dirty Daniel" will laugh until your bellies hurt. I want to go back again now but will have to wait.Enjoy your stay there Karen,Simon & Tia
Nice One
Myself and Partner stayed at the Blue Bay Deluxe bank holiday August 06 on a bed and breakfast basis, with the intention to upgrade once we were there. On arrival we found that the hotel was in a good location and looked quite impressive. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The rooms were very clean and a good size with air conditioning and all the facilites we had been informed it would have. Lovely pool and pool area. The restaurant was nice, although we were not impressed with the breakfast menu and whilst there was a lot of choice struggled to find anything we wanted to eat; no bacon/sauages. Having said that we found quite a few restaurants locally offering good English breakfast for literally a couple of quid. Once we had a chance to check out the bar talk to a few guests and find out exactly what the all inclusive included (not everything like you might think) we opted to stay on a B&B basis and eat out. I have to say we were spolit for choice; good food at a more than reasonable price plus entertainment included. For us this worked out far better value, with a lot more freedom to go and come especially as we ended up booking quite a few excursions which included lunch and sometimes drinks so this suited us to the T. On our last day we checked out as normal but our flight was not until late so we spent all day by the pool and requested a shower room to change off. This was great as the room was just like the one we stayed in at no extra cost. Would definately recommend and trust me I am fussy.
Great For the whole family
The Rooms were very modern, clean, and had a very good air conditioning. The one thing that made that holiday for me was the men waiters in the restaurant they were so friendly and kind (Micheal, Turan, Biram, Latiff) but I can’t say the same for the women staff they were the grumpiest people I have ever met. A man called Vahap was helpful at the reception and a few other men but the women at the reception were just very moody!! And so were the women at the health spa. The health spa was quite good but as we was all inclusive we was expecting non stop Turkish bath and steam room but we could only use them facilities at 3:00p.m while 5.00p.m but don’t let that change your mind because the things you can do at the beach is just incredible me and my sons went on a quad safari at £20, scuba diving at £25, jet skiing at £15 there’s also parasailing and a banana boat. There is a free test dive round the pool to see whether you would like diving or not we loved it because they took pictures underneath the water and videos then you can buy a disc. The entertainers seemed to spend more time at the blue bay hotel & apartments but they did come to the hotel to do some dances. The pool is kept very clean and the pool bar staff can be very lively which is always good I also knew a man called Memo who worked behind there that always had a smile on his face and always like dancing to the music. Overall this would make a great family holiday.
better than we expected
We booked our holiday over a year in advance with friends, and ended up dreading our decision. ( a previous trip to Gumbet)WHAT A SURPRISE when we got there. the blue bay was not what I expected. Friendly helpful staff, average rooms but cleaned regularly, entertainment day and night, cheap ice-creams and reasonable drinks. No Hassle! GET UP EARLY for a decent sunbed though as I would swear some people had left towels the night before. The pool is lovely and really worth staying at as the beach is not very good. Now for THE FOOD. its generally awful with hardly any choice for kids (good job there's cafes near) breakfast was beans sloppy scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs and salad every day. the bread is nice though. That apart we had a really good holiday and would definately return to the Blue Bay but next time we would go either b/b or self catering and never again in August (just far too blooming HOT) If you are going to this hotel, I hope you have as good a time as we did. ENJOY IT!!
best holiday ever
Hi we went as a group of 4 adults ageing between 31 and 50 years and 3 children ageing 12 / 9 / and 6 and have just came back from blue bays hotel. We choose to go self catering due to what my children eat , but this was not a problem as there were plenty to choose from the pool side menu. All the staff in the entire complex were totally helpfull and friendly at all times. Rooms were bigger than expected which is a great bonus when clothes , shoes , bags etc are so cheap to fill other suitcases to bring home. Rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels . Hairdryers in rooms. Pools cleaned daily immaculate , entertainment around pools daily only its the same routine of a night but that isn't a problem as you only walk out of the door and you are a greeted by numerous amounts of pubs , restaurants and lots of nice people. It is a 2 minute walk to the beach were you can get waited on hand and foot . and all the sunbeds are free on the beach no matter were you sit or lie. Lots of water sports on the beach at reasonabile prices. Before i go the jeepsafari is a must but be prepared to get wet and wear old clothes .NOT A BAD WORD AGAINST IT ALREADY BOOKED FOR NEXT YEAR . HOPE YOU HAVE THE SAME EX[PERIENCE AS WE DID. X X
Fantastic Family Holiday
Family from Argyll Scotland (41) (36) (9) (5) Just arrived back Yesterday from a one week family holiday at The Blue Bays Hotel In Marmaris. As we had never been to Turkey before we were a little aprehensive. We went with our 2 children aged 5 and 9 and they had the time of their lives. Ignore all the bad reports you my have read as I think these people were either very unfortunate or spoiled brats! From the moment we arrived in the Hotel (very early morning) we were greeted with a smile, and had our bags carried from the bus, right to our rooms. The rooms were cleaned each day and the towels changed too. The swimming pools are really good and even for non swimmers you can walk the length and bredth of it as it is only shoulder height throughout. The highest temp last week was 42 degrees celsius, so you will be in the pool at some point whether you are a swimmer or not! Our only downside, and it completely pesonal was that we went all-incusive... our five year old son is a fussy eater and even I struggled to find something from the buffet at times. The food is plentiful but more suited to non British tastes..... very salad orientated. The resort itself is bigger than we ever imagined and eating out seems to be what the British do. Hundreds of restaurants to choose from... steaks £5!! For all you ladies out there who love designer labels, this resort is a must. My wife thought she had died and gone to heaven when she saw the shops. Every second one sells Guicci, Versacci etc. all fakes but vey good fakes. T-shirts, polo shirts, football tops, jumpers and much more. People I spoke to who go year after year go with as little as a couple of tops and shorts in their cases and buy their clothes when they get there. The day we were leaving we asked to see an appartment in the hotel where you can stay self catering and were so impressed that we are now going to book for next year. This hotel and resort is by far the best holiday I have had in over 25 years.
great Loved it
just come back, spent a great week,Hotel excellent, staff very friendly, service good.We stayed B&B ,rooms good size, furniture could be described as a little worn but adequate storage. The rooms were cleaned daily, lovely bathroom full size bath, shower and hairdrier, clean towels and sheets daily, plenty of hot water. Free air con.a must have.safety deposit box in the room for a reasonable weekly charge. Good selection of food at breakfast .Kids loved the pool which was cleaned daily, not enough sun loungers however and by late afternoon half the pool area in the shade.Evening entertainment at the hotel fairly good,Turkish dancers, belly dancer and a bingo night! good prizes.Try a turkish bath at the hotel spa excellent.Comfortable and easy walk to the beach front where loads of good bars and restaurants to eat, good value for money ,try striking a deal, like free kids meals or free drink refills.Try Yuvam beach bar or Casa Bonita in the harbour Great place Marmaris love to go back, will go back.
happy days
Location was fantastic, nightlife and restaurants in easy reach. Beach 2 minute walk away. No disturbance of late night noise. Chill out pool excellent. Great for young groups and families. Animation team repetative but hilarious chicken song. Watch out for the turkish bar staff who latch on to young english girls. Must go to salt n pepa night club. Rooms spacious and clean. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
best ever
We stayed at blue bays hotel for two weeks starting 30th june this year, after reading lots of bad things about blue bays i was dreading going there, can i just say that it is was just the best ever holiday, all the staff was helpfull, especially the bar staff they all had a laugh, as much as we did nothing was to much trouble they would always put themselves out even though they all worked very long hours, ther was 10 of us in are group and we were all inclusive we all had cocktails every day sometimes all day every meal was something different, you could go up as many times as you like and the puddings, was out of this world, the rooms was basic but clean, air conditioning brilliant, even woke up a few nights cold, godsend when you been out all day tempatures hitting the 40s, i cant think of one bad thing to say about the hotel, i wouldnt say the hotel was cut out for posh stuck up there --- people, if you wont to have a laugh like most of us british do, then your love it but if you wont to sit on a lounger and read a book in peace dont bother, all ten of us was in the pool having a laugh dive bombing ect, we chucked most of the staff in to fully clothed and they just had a laugh with us, we all had fresh towels every day as well as having are beds done and rooms cleaned unless you didnt need any thing done then you just put dont disturb on the door, we done every thing there was to do all boat trips, quad bikes safari, jeep safari, parrersailing, diving, dough nuts, banana boats, turkish baths, jet skis, cant wait to go back next year,
