Babadan Apartments

Our first time to Turkey, a big family group with a 3 year old. We had a fantastic time, the Babadan apartments are awesome, really clean and loads of fun, the staff cannot do enough to help they are so friendly and make the pool really fun in the day. We were a group and were lucky as we had loads of really nice fun people staying at the Babadan at the same time as us so we really enjoyed ourselves. Icmeler itself is lovely. The restaurants have bar style entertainment starting at about ten, but then music has to be turned down and it calms down at midnight, you can stay drinking til whatever time you like but it is quiet. Loads of nice places to eat. As we're a family group we are mixed ages and we all had a fantastic time. The babadan has a little poolside shop selling loads of different things so don't panic if you forget anything! Plenty of sunbeds available.

We have been to the babadan apt for the last 6yrs. We have absolutley loved our stays there and made to feel very welcome. The rooms are very clean and the staff are amazing.
Last year I got married at the babadan and Julia and Durant Kaz the owners made this all possible for me and done me and my family very proud.
We will be going back in July this year for another fantastic stay.

just come back from holiday in turkey .Stayed in Babadan arpartments people very helpful.everything clean food in resturant good for area.First time in Icmeler and the last awful if you like tacky bars and resturants then fine Icmeler nice little fishing village it is not ,ruble dust broken pavments rubish everwhere .Long beach but not very wide sunbeds all close together people snoring smoking drinking nightmare ,but if you want cheap tattoo and hot wearther fine

We have just got back from Turkey the first time we have been.Stayed at The Babadan Apartments had a fabulous holiday cant remember when we enjoyed ourselves so much, resort clean,staff friendly, met some great people from Derbyshire,(mad as hatters). Made to feel welcome. Will go back again

icmeler is one of the many holidays i have been on, and also by far the best. The romance bar has great entertainment, i must say. we arrived, 5 mins after we arrived my brother fell into the pool. a man who was all dressed ready to go out dived into the pool to save him. after that interupption we went to bed as it was late,and we were tired.when we woke up in the morning my other brother had got the chicken pox.the holiday was good but we couldn't go anywere really because of the chicken pox. i spent every morning in the pool as my mum and dad sorted out what we can do. the only things we got to do was go in the pool,the beach,the water-park,shopping and go out for a meal of a night. although we had a bit of a hold back it was still a great holiday. we have booked again for june 2010,it was good lastime as i have said but imagine this time when we can do some other things, it will be outstanding!

Really loved these apartments. The day we arrived, our son aged 7 months, woke up with chicken pox!! After informing the staff of this, they all rallied round to help and could not do enough for us and him, thomson rep was fab too. We thought our hol was over after this, but thoroughly enjoyed every minute. They helped us make up for a hol with a disasterous start and turned it into the hol we had expected to have. The local eatery's Romance, Majestic and various others were lovely, loved the kids and great entertainment. These apartments are quite basic, but the location, facilities and all night shop make up for this. The pools are lovely , but like others have said, you do have to get up very early for a sunbed. Maybe they should invest in a few more, as this is the only bug bare. We came straight home and have booked for 11 nights next year and all looking forward to it. Travelled with 5 adults, 2 children (11 and 4) and one infant.

This was our first visit to Turkey, driven by cost more than desire it has to be said.
Icmeler seemed to be the place most recomended as it was quiet but with easy access to Marmaris by 'dolmush' buses which run every 15 minutes.
I have to say that we were all very pleasanly suprised with Turkey. It's HOT, sunny, green and the people - generally - are very pleasant, and not at all jaded with British tourists - yet.
Having said that, running the gauntlet of restauranteurs, shop owners and day trip kiosks every day does get very tiresome - just try not making eye contact or showing any interest.
There is a massive market every Wednesday in Icmeler, about a 10 minute walk from the Babadan Appts. Great place to get copies of pretty much anything, bags, T shirts, games, jeans. But be warned, this haggling lark isn't all it's cracked up to be. The stall owners - always men - get very aggressive and unpleasant when you walk away.
Babadan Appartment are basic but well run by very pleasant staff. The guys in the restaurant are a real bunch of characters and very friendly and attentive. Special mention to Phyllis on reception, always very helpful and pleasant.
Air conditioning is £3 per day and the safe boxes in reception will cost £1 per day.
They have a 'no cash' card system which is actually very handy if you have kids - you just keep the card topped up at reception and the bars and shop on site just swipe the card to take the amount off.
Be prepared to get up early if you want a good spot with sun beds - I was up at 7am EVERY day (5am back home!).
The shop over the road offered TL2.42 to the Pound which is better than back home. And the day trip kiosk just outside and to the right is the best place to get your trips. We booked the Dalyan trip with Thomson for £28 each and at the kiosk the same trip was £10!
One last thing - if you like a good laugh GO ON THE JEEP SAFARI - be prepared to get wet - AND LAUGH ALL DAY LONG.
We are booked already with Babadan for 2010.

We stayed at the babadan in aug 09 for 2wks...the apartments are clean the pools are lovely and staff very nice.........but be warned that u have to get up at 6 o clock to get a sunbed as people ignore the sign that towels cnt b left down until 8...very annoy in to be on holiday and get up at 6 o clock...............u also have to bring ur own loo roll as rooms are not supplied with it... U also ahve to steal towels as again these are only changed 2wice a week.......we were on the top floor and had to climb 32 stairs every time we wanted to get to the room not good when u have had a few drinks turkey itself is a pretty sleazy place and not somewhere i,d recommend for kids,,,,,,,,,,the men are horrible........and theres not a lot for kids to do,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,enjoy ur holiday anywaw

We didnt book these apartments at the time of booking our holiday with the travel company, but unfortunately we had to move from our original place during the second week of our holiday. We were moved by the Rep to Babadan.
I wish that I had booked to stay here in the first place. Lovely staff, nice and clean, lovely cleaning ladies. The room had a seperate bedroom with a double bed, rugs on the floor, a double and a single sofa bed for my boys. A microwave, toaster, kettle and even a hairdryer in the big bathroom.
Great for the boys, with 2 big swimming pools and 2 kiddies pools one having an octopus with slides.
Absolutely fantastic place to stay.
I will definately be booking these during my next stay in Icmelar.

My partner and I had a brilliant stay at the Babadan Apartments, we thoroughly enjoyed every part of the holiday. The staff were amazing, they were hospitable and always friendly. The receptionist was polite and helpful, and the bar staff had great sense of humours. We found that all the Turkish people we met were great characters and made you feel welcome. The Babadan Apartments are very clean, with great views of the surrounding area. It is in a great place, because it is a short walk away from the vast restaurants (The restaurant next door, 'Romance' was excellent) and the beach. The two pools were clean and of a good size, you could choose whether you wanted the lively pool near the bar or the quieter one round the rear of the accomadation. The rooms were good and had all the amenities you need. On the whole, we loved the holiday, the people, weather and everything about it.
