Babadan Apartments

Set against a backdrop of beautiful pine clad mountains.
This was our first time at Babadan and in Icmeler, we booked the babadan because of other people's good feedback and also the fact that many people return each year to the Babadan. We were in 2 groups and booked 2 rooms, there was three 30 yr olds 1 child of 9 and gran, we self catered as we like to have the freedom and choice, however the food at the Babadan is of very good quality and price too.
As we arrived in late september then we were on the back end of the season and it was still busy but not too busy.
Our apartments were quite spacious and were cleaned every day and our bedding was changed every other day.
We found that all the staff were friendly and we had only 2 problems we reported to reception about our kettle and stove and both were dealt with straight away.
The onsite restaurant serves good food at good prices and has a snack menu and evening menu too, there were 2 themed nights running whilst we were there, carribean on wednesdays and turkish night on saturdays which we did attend, it cost £12 but you had a 3 couse meal and the entertainment which included a belly dancer, break dancers and also authentic turkish dancers too, and there is the usual audience participation which I was involved in and is great fun for the kids too as the staff get involved also.
There is a bar at the end of the first pool that has internet access and also offers the same drinks service as the restaurant, also the staff dont mind delivering snacks to your apartment if required.
There is also a on site shop for water and some essential basics.
The weather was good this time of year, not too hot and in low 80's.
At our visit we found that there was a mixture of families and old and young couples too which seemed to suit this complex, everyone got along well and this would suit families and young/old couples looking for a good base to relax and explore the area.
The town of Icmeler is nice with a large selection of restaurants some which are of fantastic value, easy to explore and a nice beach this is in ideal location to holiday in whilst you also have easy access to Marmaris from which to explore further afield.
There are plenty of places to book trips and excursions from and you can be collected at your hotel too.
We think that it was a fantastic holiday and anyone visiting the Babadan will have a very happy holiday, the staff are fantastic the location is beautiful and the turkish people are very friendly too and they love children which makes it more fun for the kids.
We will be going back next year.

Having been spoilt in the past from such a wonderful hotel we struggled to enjoy our time at the Babadan Apartments.
I really cant understand how these apartments have got such a good reputation.
The rooms are clean but starting to look a bit old and shabby , the walls were so thin you could hardly sleep at night, and what I hated was having to walk through there restaurant every day to get in and out of the building, which gave them the chance to nab you and try and sell you a ticket for there rip off Turkish night.
The food was much better if you went to the local restaurants ie Romance was very good.
If you want the best holiday ever you should try the Belcekiz Beach Hotel in Olu Deniz - once youve been there you would never go back to the Babadan apartments again.

This has been our third year at babadan and once again really enjoyed it. All staff are excellent especially restuarant staff. Apartment room very good and kept nice and clean by the maid. Pool and surrounding area fantastic Reception staff freindly and welcoming as was the holiday rep bill. Make sure you get up early to reserve a sun bed as these have usually used up by 10.00am. Strongly advise the owners of babadan start mixing and welcoming guests as at present they just keep them selves to them selves. Also feel the owners do not appreciate the staff they have and 100% they are all doing. Unfortunatley will not be returning to babadan next year mainly because certain staff will not be present next year.

Me and my partner have just come back from Icmeler, Turkey after two weeks in the Babadan apartments. It was a really nice hotel, although the rooms were very basic they were cleaned every day. When we arrived we were placed in a loft room which was small and had a very low ceiling, we requested to be moved and the receptionist moved us as soon as there was a room avalable. The staff were fantasic really helpful and always happy which definately rubbed off on people.
This was our first time in Turkey and are very glad we chose Icmeler it was fantastic. It wasn't too lively but had the odd lively bar (if your wanting a good night out go to Wonderboys). The only issue was the trip places they nag all the time but once you say no they leave you alone.
All in all we had a wonderful holiday and was really sad to come home and are looking to book for Turkey 09.

just returned from a great holiday at Babadan, the accomodation was basic but very clean, the rooms were cleaned every other day and we had shapes on the bed out of towels. Very good.
We were in a party of 14 for the first week and 17 the week after. I celebrated my 40th birthday there and could not have wished for a better time, the staff helped putting up balloons, banners etc when i had gone to bed, ( i awoke to this)
Champagne and a huge cake was provided by the staff, along with a fab rendition of happy birthday. Everyone in our party from my parents to the children had a great time and was welcomed whether we ate there or not. We are not people who stay around the pool and get drunk all the time!!!!!!, we are people who get to know the staff and appreciate the hard work they do. We have been to Icmeler 4 times and we will definately return to these apartments again. Please give them a try

we stopped at the babadan apartemnts for 2 weeks in august 2008
average accomadation, spacious apartments, basic self catering facilities, very comfy double bed (not two singles pushed together) very basic cleaning,
nice pool area with pleasent gardens ideal if you just want to chill out total peace and quite as there is no pool bar. apartments ran by an elderly turkish couple who did not speak any english but you could communicate on a basic level we found them to be warm and friendly. small shop across the road selling basic supplies.
the beach and resteraunts are a 3 min walk away. despite the basic accomadation we really enjoyed our holiday in bitez
bitez has a very chilled back atmosphere, pretty beach very romantic at night, candles and big cushions on the beach,

Iv just got back off my holiday and i must say i loved eveybit of it the apartments was very clean, all the staff in the apartments was very friendly. The reception was open 24 hours. The bar and food was also very nice. And the nitelife was also very good around icmeler which you only have 2 walk dwn the road 2 nd ur at all the restrantans and bars. You just cnt falut the place! I will be going back next year without any question its the best holiday iv been on.

If I'm honest, before I went to Icmeler I wasn't expecting how good it was going to be. It was our first trip to Turkey ( we usually go to Grece) so I was a bit apprehensive but once I got there, I absolutely loved it. Icmeler itself is beautiful. The scenery is stunning but due to how hot it was, we didn't really get to explore the real Turkey. We only went to the beach once however it wasn't because we didn't like it - the heat was just unbearable so most days we lounged by the pool or popped out into the town for an hour. Most nights we ate out, but I have to warn you, the waiters can be pretty intimidating at first but you get used to it. We just used the excuse 'We've already eaten' and they were pleasant enough. As for the food, really nice and I'm a fussy eater!
As for the apartments, they were really nice. Always clean, I have to disagree with one of the reviews, the cleaners were brilliant. Although they didn't visit everyday, bins were rarely overflowing and they always tried to avoid intruding while you were in. Rooms are basic but we only used our rooms to sleep so I can't comment on how useful the appliances were except the toaster did work! At first, we were in one of the apartments on the top floor but we didn't like it much, we were always banging our heads, so we told reception and they had us moved in several days. They were so helpful. Pool area was lovely. We stayed round the back pool, it was quieter but the one by the bar is just as nice, lovely and warm to have a nice dip in.
As for the staff, they were absolutely lovely. Always made you feel welcome and had time for you. On the first day, we had trouble opening our cases but that was easily fixed as one of the staff members helped us open it. The lads in the restaurants are gorgeous :). Watch out for them girls, they're lovely. Mevlut, Hakan and Mustafa, the main reasons why I didn't wanna go home! Theres also some lovely guys on the bar, didn't talk to them much, but they seemed lovely nonetheless. I'd advise going to the Turkish nights at least one of the times it's on. It's a laugh, always getting you up dancing which I think we all enjoyed, even my mom's partner and that's very unlike him! have to admit, the magician was a bit naff but great for the kids. Met him while talking to Nafiz on reception however and his tricks were so much better up close.
Overall, if you want to spend your holiday in beautiful weather, surrounded by beautiful scenery, meet some lovely people and eat goreous food, this is the place to go :)

I have just come back from a two week holiday in Icmeler staying at babadan apartments. I had a fab holiday. All the staff are very friendly and will do anything to make your stay more enjoyable. Their Turkish night that they put on is a very enjoyable evening. I would recomend to anyone staying there. It's on a Saturday night. Because we enjoyed it so much we went both Saturdays.
The pool is on the deep side but it is lovely and clean as is the area around the pool. These apartments were very clean, better than I have experienced before in Turkey. The maids done a good job.
If you want a nice relaxing holiday with friendly people then this is the place for you to stay. The night life and beach are only a short walk away.
I would go back at stay at theses apartments anytime.

Just arrived back from the babadan aparts and thought it was only right to put my personal review on here which gives a true reflection of these apartments!!
reception:
the lady on reception was fab she always spoke politely and made you feel very welcome, the safety deposit boxes were manned 24hrs a day.
Apartment: Our room was no.12 on ground floor, the balcony was of good size but nowhere to hang wet towels out apart from over the walls, the lighting in the rooms was horrendeous very dark indeed my wife struggled to put her contact lenses in it as it was that dark,the bed settee was very shabby,the kitchen area was adequate and had microwave and toaster which was good but not enough plugs so you couldnt have the cooker on at the same time as the extractor fan,(great idea!!) and same again you couldnt boil the kettle or use the toaster if using the microwave!!!Cuttelry was adequate and pots and pans were ok,mugs for coffe were a treat instead of small tea cups and rest of plates bowls etc were plastic which suited us cos we have a 3yr old who likes to drop things!!The bedroom was ok with fresh clean linen and towels every other day, wardrobe space is not great at all but they was only 3 of us and not a family of 4.The aircon which costs £3 a day blew out luke warm air which was great when it was 30 degrees at night and 40 odd thru day!!!And then there was the bathroom!!about 4ft sq the stench from the drains was like getting washed next to the sewers, the shower was ok with plenty of hot water all the time.Cleaners were none exsistant all they did was bring in new linen and towels and sure enough on the last 2 days before we went home she made that little effort to arrange them in to shapes(sorry love a little to late for your tip!!)I even had to wash the sink out myself, as a little trick just to see how poor her cleaning was my wife left a empty condition sachet on floor in shower cubical on 3rd day and sure enough it was still there when we left 10 days later. Kitchen was never wiped down and floors never brushed or mopped!!!
Pools:Were nice but not at all child friendly (no shallow end)plenty of sunbeds but to be honest the only time i went in the pool was after a day at the beach!!
Staff: they seemed o.k but like anywhere the only want to know you when you are spending money with them.
All in all after staying in many aparts and hotels in Icmeler these are by far the WORST, I don't understand how people rate them so highly as we have stayed in some fab places in icmeler which leave these in the dark ages!!These aparts seem to attract the kind of family who just like to sit by the pool all day long and let there kids do what ever they want and at night stay in the bar/restaurant all night get drunk then go to bed and do it all again the next day (groundhog day),this is why the apartments get such good reviews off people who become friends with the staff and try to make it out to be some where fantastic!!!!!! Thomson Gold Award i beg to differ!!
