Well what can I say. I went to the Litera Relax resort with my girlfriend we both paid around £350 each for a week all inc which we thought was ok. We read the reviews and they seemed mixed so we went with an open mind. We are both down do earth, not fussy and not like... more

Blood stained sheets, rust, filth, decay, doors that don't lock, curtains that don't provide privacy, damp, mildew, a roof you can see the stars through and a tour rep who couldn't give a damn constantly referring to her best phrase of 'not my problem..' If you are in any... more

The Simba Hotel was a clean and welcoming hotel. The staff at reception were helpful but couldn't talk English very well. The swimming pool was a bit bad because it was quite deep. The night time activities were good and entertaining. I think crazy Joe was real nice and... more

Our 2nd year in Gumbet at the Simba. We found that the hotel had been rented out for 2 years to different people to run it, which was a bit disappointing as last year was excellent, this year not as good but we still had a brilliant holiday. The staff that were there last... more

This hotel is utterly abysmal. I'm still currently in Turkey. I’m on my 3rd room in the hotel. The first was disgusting. It had a black ceiling and was very small it was smaller than my bedroom at home. And this is supposed to sleep 3 people! The 2nd was even worse we... more

a good clean hotel
I visited the hotel simba with my wife, kids and friends and there children. The hotel is clean and the staff vey helpfull.I travelled with first choice and Kerry the rep was very helpfull. The only major downside is that it was very expensive. On average a can of coke was 4 Lira and in the village a can of coke was 1.5 Lira and this was the same for other items, also outside food was not allowed to be brought into the hotel. We had to smuggle pop, crisps, beer and water into the hotel as we refused to pay the extortionate prices(i would advise people to do the same). We did enjoy our holiday at the hotel Simba, we were half board and the food was great, we did eat out on two occasions and would recommend the Park Beach restaurant on the sea front (you have got to try the sizzling beef).
Staff excel at the Simba
What a fantastic holiday! My room was pleasant, clean, well equipped and quiet. In the well-maintained pool area the fantastic staff come into their own, and it is definately the staff that made the holiday, especially 'John Tavolta' (Sedat) who never tired of the demands of the day, a special thanks to you all for making my stay at the Simba so special! Breakfast buffet was excellent but the restaurant staff tended to hassle whilst you ate breakfast, they were trying to encourage you to eat in their dining room in the evening - it was a little off putting and I would have eaten there more had they not irritated me at breakfast!
loved every last bit
hotel simba is the best holiday i have had i have been to turkey 4 times and will definately be going back there staff are brill hercules alperen and ronaldo we love you
Very Friendly Hotel
The hotel rooms were very basic, but then who stays in the room all day. The staff more than made up for this. The hotel was spotlessly clean and house keeping staff checked all amentities every hour at least ! It was very entertaining by the pool nearest to reception, the staff were there all day to wait on you hand and foot if you wanted them to. The staff i.e. Dolphin , Bruce , Mike , Pedro, Captain , Ali to name but a few were fantastic they looked after us and the kept the kids entertained what more could you ask for. The music at the top pool could be a little loud for some guests but you had the choice of the other pool which seemed much quieter. Pool area was quite slippery. Although cleaned and swept regularly. There was evening entertainment, some nights good i.e barbeque and turkish / Russian dancing. And a happy hour of some kind every night at 10 til 11. The food was good and the evening buffet good value if you weren't already on DBB. The pizza was excellant! The staff make this hotel what it is. We would definately go back. No doubt about it. It is close enough to walk into the centre of Gumbet but far enough out of the nightlife to get a good nights sleep.
purrrfect
Myself and my family stayed at simba, after the reviews i read on the internet i was not looking forward to the holiday. We arrived at the hotel around midnight so we decided to have a drink then go to bed. Next Morning my children all played in the two beautiful pools which were kept beautifully clean. The staff were excellent and all were very friendly especially dolphin who was the life and soul of the whole bar. He was getting everybody to join in and have fun. The bar and entertainment were good , however the alcohol was quite expensive . so make the most of buy 1 get 1 free night . The hotel runs a credit card system , you put money on it at reception , then the waiters swipe it and deduct your purchase . the problem is the kids think everythings free . Pedro was also a laugh. The room was basic but bedding was changed every other day and the towels were changed every day.Eating out was cheaper than staying at the hotel but they looked after the children while you had a good night. If you want a cheap meal then "Mistral" on the beach front was nice and cheap, about 35 pounds for a family of 6. Also try the many boat trips on offer Sandis is probaly the best , you can also get excurtions cheaper in Gumbet than through the rep . Try smileys for a good laugh (Zar Zar ) . Say Hi to Dolphin from Kerry . Have a fantastic holiday we did , and we will certainly be going back soon .
simba , samba
the hotel simba in turkey really is a fantastic hotel, its clean, friendly staff, cleanliness of pools and ideally situated. The bar is open 24 hours and staff are always keen to serve with a smile. The only down side to the hotel was the food was not too good. Overall opinion was a definite 'yes' should we be asked 'would you go again'. and also i would pack and go now.
great hotel
We have just spent a week at the Simba Hotel and found the hotel to be very clean. The room had everything you need and was cleaned every day. The bar staff were very good and serve drinks to your sun lounger and dont expect any tips. The only complaint we have is that the restaurant staff are a bit too pushy for you to eat in the hotel restaurant.
A Fantastic Hotel
Just got back from a weeks B&B in the Simba, and had an amazing time, was a little worried about going after reading some of the reviews but really glad we did. The whole hotel is immaculatly clean, the sheets are changed every day along with the towels. I wouldn't say anything bad about the Simba the staff work incredibly hard to make sure you are having a good holiday and will do as much as possible to acomodate you. It is not at the top of a mountain as some people describe its at the top of a small hill, witht eh beach at the bottom, the beach isn't the nicest in the World but Bodrum beach is nicer and aparentley there are some gorgeous beaches only a short bus ride away, the local transport is cheap and very reliable. the bar staff are all a good laugh and provide all the entertainment which if you make good use of the 2 for 1 offers on the comdey night is very funny. For a top spot to eat in Gumbet visit The Red Dragon there are a couple of chineese restraunts but this is the cream of the crop and serves all sorts of food apart from Chineese, ask for billy tell him Pete and Jen sent you and he will take good care of you. I wouldn't suggest going half board if you are only there for a week as it is pretty cheap to eat out and you are not confined to the times of the buffet meal which we had once and was pretty good. Mirions is also does very good food too. Our rep was pretty crap but we did a few excursions with exon travel, by the red dragon which were excellent value and very good outings the water park is a good day out although take some flip flops the ground is very gravely. I would say the hotel is suited to younger couples and families rather than the elderly, the music can be pretty loud at times, and I would advise taking a couple of cd's to stick behind the bar, they are a bit limited bless em unless you like Nelly then your well sorted. Over all top notch holiday and may well go back next year, if you are visiting the Simba tell Pedro the crazy barman that Pedros and Jenny say hello, and have a great time.
hated the place
after being told about the simba by friends i would never go by other peoples opinions. we traveld with friends and in-laws who were first time in turkey.the rooms were disgusting the mattress on the beds terrible staff really rude also the day of my departure my cases had been opened and my clothes moved about as if they were looking for something very frightening ive a list to long to mention never go there again.
Fantastic holiday
We stayed here last year and it is only 8 weeks until we return!! a holiday is what you make it , we have two kids and we found the staff excellent, the restaraunt was not the best but the Windy Bay restaraunt was well worth the visit on most evenings this is one of the best holidays we have been on, we had requested a room with a balcony before we arrived and di dget one on arrival, but we spoke to reception the following day and we had to wait for a couple of hours but got a fantastic room which was well worth the wait!! room 505 if you wish to request
