Stayed here this summer for a 7 night all inclusive basis. First time I have been away properly and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the hotel, pools and gardens.
Although there is not much to do in the hotel itself there was plenty to do on day trips to Turkey, Paradise beach and Nissyros (the volcano). All totally good value for money, only costing 50 euros for all 3 together.
Food was good, although after a few days was quite boring but there are plenty of bars and restaurants along the road to the beach. Beach was lovely, clear warm water light breeze and not overly packed. Was only a short walk away from the hotel roughly 5 mins if that.
Staff in the bars are friendly and helpful, played hip hop and R&B music.
Overly a nice relaxing holiday. The reason I didn’t not give a higher rating is because... the beds weren’t too comfy and although food was lovely and fresh became abit boring after a few days. My boyfriend thought it was excellent.
Overall good value for money.

I have just got back from Pyli Bay hotel in Marmari Kos. That hotel is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
The hotel is situated far away from anywhere, it’s just in the middle of nowhere surrounded by cows and goats. The rooms are very basic and uncomfortable. There is a nice pool area but that’s about it. The sunbeds are filthy and had mould growing on them.
The food is absolutely awful. With about 8 dished to choose from ( 4 of which are sauces) we didn't eat well at all. Seriously, I wouldn't give their food to my dog, it’s that bad.
We ended getting taxies to the other side of the island just to eat out, even though we were all inclusive. The variety of drinks is terrible too, all inclusive provides beer, brandy wine, and ouzo on the alcoholic side and coke and lemonade as soft drinks.....that’s it, even had to pay for tea and coffee. It really is not worth going there. No-one speaks English there and there are no English reps either.
The hotel is based for German tourist...not for English. We were the only English in the hotel and even going out of the hotel, we only came across 1 other English couple. In the hotel of an evening there is no entertainment, only some light background music.
Before I left England to go on holiday, I came on this site and read bad comments but thought it was people over exaggerating, I was wrong and should of transferred to somewhere else.
The whole holiday was a shambles and now I need another one. If you have already booked, I advise you to cancel and go somewhere else.

The Pyli Bay Hotel is very very clean and thats about it! It is in two seperate blocks the old block and the new block. We stayed in the new block and the pool and rooms are all in excellent condition and very clean. The pool is quite big and has a seperate pool area for the kids which is nice and shallow but small. We didnt spend alot of time in the old block as it was miles away, however had to walk there for all our meals.
The food is ok, however not alot of varierty and nothing at all for kids. Apparently it was all inclusive but ended up eating out most nights and buying our own drinks. The brochure stated that all local drinks were inclusive, however, only lemon, orange, cola, water, beer, wine, oozo and brandy were available, anything else you had to buy! That was a problem for my partner and myself as we are both diabetics and there were no diet drinks available to us at all and had to buy our own! We complained about this to the manager who said he would get diet coke in for us. We were pleased for his help however the next day we were fobbed off with watered down ordinary cola which could have put us in hospital if we had of drank it! There is no staff on site, just a barmaid during the day and a very aggressive night time barman.
After the diet coke issue we were told by the manager to go to the shops to buy our own! They were very unhelpful and dont think they realised the danger of feeding diabetics with sugary pop! I was quite fed up with iced water by this stage!
Night times were very boring indeed, there is no entertainment at all and no daytime entertainment. The brochure states that there is mini golf and tennis, however there is only 2 golf clubs and one ball and lots of guests. Therefore, be prepared to provide your own entertainment especially for the kids.
There's a few health and safety issues around the pool including very slippery steps and breeze blocks holding up parasols which a few of us tripped over as they blend into the colour of the floor tiles so beware.
for being all inclusive the hotel has got it wrong, we were only fed breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is no midday snacks apart from icecream for 1 hour and coffee and tea for 1 hour, and by the time you've walked to the old block and waited in the queues its hardly worth it.
The staff are ignorant and unhelpful. We had to check out of our hotel at 10am and we werent getting picked up until 3.30am the next day. We were told we could have a courtesy room between 9 of us which was great as we could have a shower etc, then when we went to ask for it they shrugged their shoulders and told us it had been given to somebody else! We sat around all night and early morning in the lounge getting eaten by mosquitos and one of the female members of staff was spraying mozzi spray near reception, so we asked if she could spray near where we were sitting too and she said she didnt need to as the air conditioning unit was on! How unhelpful!
Overall, the holiday was good and we provided our own entertainment as there was 9 of us, the weather was great but not much else to do in Marmari. I wouldnt reccommend the Pyli Bay hotel to anybody, its a waste of money - if youre already booked good luck!

A nice clean hotel.
Pleasant staff but unfortunately No entertainment. Not even piped music into the bars. There was No night life at all and very limited in the resort itself.
Good food although limited choice but became repetitive No children’s menu eg Burgers/chips etc.
Marmari is not a particularly good location and the hotel is a fair walk from the beach. Very few options at night, a couple of tavernas but nothing lively. I travelled with two teenagers (18) who were particularly disappointed with the lack of facilities. we found Marmari itself and indeed the hotel to be.
Not particularly geared up for British tourists
Bearing all this in mind, there are two pools both of which were very clean, the mood was usually very relaxed and friendly, but too quiet for me and my family.

The Bar kept running out of locally produced drinks. In our party of 11 were two insulin dependent diabetics. They served them ordinary coke with soda water as acceptable. It took two days for them to provide diet coke and then only one 2 litre bottle. When I confronted reception they told me to buy diet coke from the shop across the road! I told them we were all inclusive and was told that meant something different on Kos. There was always plenty of food but the quality was very poor. This meant that we ate out quite a lot or supplemented the meals from the shop over the road. We visited the Ramari Beach hotel on a day trip to the water park "Shape" near Kos Town. They allowed us to go all inclusive for that night for 15 euros per person - all we could eat and drink - absolutely fabulous, superb staff and entertainment. I could not recommend Pyli Bay hotel under any circumstances!

Myself and my family spend a lovely 2 week break in this hotel. The accomodation was good, all rooms had fully functioning AC, balcony. The meals were extensive and were great, with a very wide choice and variety. Plenty of each item as well loads to eat. All inclusive tariff did only include sodas, water, tea, coffee, beer. ouzo and brandy, but there was plenty of those. Staff seemed very friendly and helpful. We all had a wonderful time. Yes the hotel does seem to be dominated by Germans, Spanish and east Europeans so queing is great to watch. Yes the resort is rather quiet but close to the sea with very good transport, buses, hire cars/bikes etc readily available. Plenty of local super markets to shop in. If you do go then you must nip into the British pub just up the road from the hotel, run by a lovely British couple, excellent cocktails.
Not for the young ones who want a noisy/busy night life.
