We went to Ramira on 11/08/07. Firstly do not be deceived by the video that you can download from there website... it is not the same one.
Standard of food was excellent but very repetitive come the end of the week.
The Italian and Chinese was not what we expected, you could only choose a selection off the limited menu, so when you pay all inclusive you expect to eat as much as you want too!!
Do not order drinks off the waiter Nikos! Rude and ignorant.
Salt water pools make your eyes sting and you do not get used to them by the end of the week as one person commented on their review. Sea is awful, beach is crap.
Hotel room was basic and not even suited for a family of 3! more like 3 star!
There is a lot of mossi's but if you use a deet formula we were fine.
Entertainment was repetitive and more for the Germans. Staff were polite and helpful most of the time, weather was fantastic.
Would not return to Ramira Beach Hotel.

This was the best holiday I have ever been on.
The hotel itself was fantastic, it looked beautiful, and the facilities and bars were amazing.
The food quality was very good and the cocktails that the bar men and women were making us were delicious.
The best thing about the holiday though were the staff. The bar men and women, the waitresses, the restaurant guys and especially the animation team. They were all so friendly and talkative and made my experience a great one.
We all fell in love with the animation team after performing with them dressed as women in the comedy show. All of you guys are incredible.
A big shout out to the legend that is Luigi, jenni, speedy, boogey, bina, lilly and all of the animation team. Not forgetting: Paola (the best waitress ever), teresa, barbara, costas, patricia and to everyone who we met on holiday!
I would recommend anyone to this hotel! Thank you!

I returned from this hotel yesterday (8th August) along with my husband and two sons aged 12 and 9. I absolutely agree with Mr Collins below and would recommend it to anyone. We had a fabulous holiday.
The hotel was spotlessly clean. The staff were helpful and very friendly. Whilst it is true that the Brits are in the minority, we never felt left out and my 9 year old son especially enjoyed the 'Animation' programme (their name for the entertainers). You do have to get up early to get a sunbed by the pool but in my experience that is the same everywhere you go. We went to the beach instead, where the hotel has sunbeds under 'pods' which are excellent at providing shade. We always got one no problem.
The food was lovely, lots of choice and my 12 year old really experimented with the different foods on offer. We tried the Italian restaurant which again was excellent. My husband did get quite a few mosquito bites but again in my experience you do get lots of them in Greece. I on the other hand only got 3 which is not bad.
Overall had a really lovely holiday and would definitely go there again. Kos Town is also well worth a visit.

No way is this a 5 star hotel. My 12 year old slept on a camp bed for a week. No air conditioning except in the bedroom.
So many mosquito's and no warning of this but looking at other reviews i'm sure this is something that should be advised of.
The bathroom was of low standard with dirty grouting and no shower hook. Battered old fridge which i assume they think is a mini bar!!!!!
The pool is very salty and shallow end 2 metres rising to 3 metres.
The ceiling on a second floor balcony collapsed while we were sitting round the pool. Also not enough sunbeds, so get up early if you want one!!!
The hotel rep was unqualified and when we asked about the water park said he did not do this trip.
We later found out there is a free bus to pick you up and take you back to the hotel, although the water park was disappointing.
The website is false, the reception shown does not exist and the rooms shown are nothing like we were in. I have plenty of photo's all of proof which I will be taking further.
When you book a holiday in 5 star that is what you expect but did not have. The only good thing about this place s that most of the staff are friendly. I would never recommend this to anyone.

We have just returned from the Ramira Beach and were a bit wary about going as we did not read the reviews which were mainly negative until we had booked. However the previous reviews were not all bad and we like to decide for ourselves. We did take jungle force extra strength insect repellant and didn't get bitten once, but there were a lot of mossies in the hotel and several unlucky people had hugh red bites on their legs.
We've been to lots of AI hotels including the one next door and even though that is awarded a higher star rating, the food, drinks and service are not as good.
The food at the Ramira Beach was v good for an all inclusive and we really liked the way you didn't have to queue up for your drinks, the waiters kept coming round offering you more. You can have a meal in the Chinese and Italian restaurant but have to book the day before. The meals and choice in either of these is great and cooked by italian and chinese staff respectively.
The beach was fine and we loved the little carribenas that you could sunbathe in and they kept out the wind.
The staff were v friendly and helpful and generally couldn't do enough for you.
Accommodation was okay, we were in the main hotel building and it does look a bit dated. A small complaint is that the mattress' were very uncomfortable as the springs were digging in into our backs, but if you have enough cocktails you can't feel them!
Entertainment was okay but it was just lovely to sit out in the warm air having a drink and chatting.
We had a lovely relaxing break, put on 6lbs in a week (hardly surprising when our main exercise was from sunbed to restaurant then back to sunbed). We did walk in to Kos Town which took about 30 mins, we went quite early but by the time we returned it was 40 c around midday so beware of this. However, there are many bars to have a drink on the way back. Kos town is lovely and it's nice to go in to the centre and see the Hippocrates Tree and ruins for a change.
We would rate this hotel as a 3.5 star, but if they updated the rooms it could definitely be awarded a 4.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 week all inclusive at the beginning of June; we had booked a very late cheap holiday, then read the reviews, to say we were expecting a sub standard hotel with all sorts of issues would be an understatement.
However, we were more than surprised when we had excellent service, very tidy accommodation and the food was first class.
We have travelled to many of the islands and this hotel was on a par with many of the better ones we have stayed at including Iberostar. No it’s not 5 stars, but then you don’t expect that in Greece especially at the price!
The only downside was the evening entertainment; however1 euro gets you into Kos Town! As for the mosquito's yes they are their but I wasn’t bitten, a few precautions and some decent repellent appears to have done the trick.
So don’t be put off by the negative reviews just prepare and enjoy.

My fiancé booked this holiday last minute for me as a birthday present. I’ve always wanted to go to Kos and I must say that this hotel is a great place to discover the island.
The staff were very friendly especially the girl who greeted us every day going into the restaurant.
The room we had was the block next to the entrance which was beautiful and modern. The maids are in every day with clean towels, linen etc.
The food was very nice but after a week it was very repetitive. They served gyros every night, chefs were cooking up other stuff on a grill, another chef would cook you fresh waffles and crepes with a choice of toppings.
If you go you have to go to the Chinese restaurant as it is beautiful, you can go every night if you want to. They also had an Italian restaurant but I preferred the Chinese.
The pool area is nice but I think in the busier months it would be a nightmare to get a sunlounger. There weren’t many English people in the hotel, mostly German, Dutch, and French.
Our rep from hotels4u.com was excellent and we booked many trips with him. If you go to Kos you have to visit the nearby island of Nissyros which is a volcano that is still bubbling. It is a beautiful day out very historical.
Overall the Mitsis Ramira Beach is a lovely hotel; the only downside was there wasn't much choice of drink. So I had cocktails all day which were very generous measures!
Enjoy.

Good hotel and wonderful staff.
Beach - full of stones but a nice place to sit and watch a wonderful sunset.
Mozzies everywhere - used every lotion and potion available but still got bitten badly.
Flooring - around general areas and pool area very dangerous. I saw a man fall and cut his head open and I slipped over around the pool - despite virtually crawling around.
Food - excellent
Drink - excellent
Entertainment - very good.

Initially, after waking up on the first morning, we thought we had really booked a fine hotel. The hotel itself, with its beautiful gardens, lovely picturesque pool just outside of our room and the hotel facilities themselves looked great.
But unfortunately the food soon became rather monotonous for us. Our 10 year old, would normally eat only chips & cucumber with ice cream for afters.
The beach itself made of shingle & stones together with the beach bar was fine for us, but not really for children as it was difficult to get in & out of the sea due to the stones in the water.
Problems arose on our very first night when my wife was badly bitten by the very hungry mossies which took a very keen likening to her (and nearly everybody else we saw or talked too). The mossies were all over the hotel, especially at nighttimes by the outdoor bar area and the toilets together with the pool room which kids always congregate.
What I can say is, all the staff in the hotel ranging from the cleaners, bar staff, waiters and Animation team were very good. In fact, young kids would enjoy the animation team. In the daytime, the animation team were always keen to keep the guests happy with crazy golf, rifle shooting, volleyball, water polo, darts, football, & other activities.
I would have considered coming back to the Ramira if only the mossies didn't live at this hotel, as nearby Kos town was also a nice attraction with its harbour area.

There are only a few negative points to this hotel. Some of these points were not the fault of the hotel but the hotel operators I booked with. I booked with hotels4u and did so off of teletextholidays.co.uk.
When booking, on the website, it said 'Special Offer', so I thought that paying 390pp a week wasn’t bad to stay in a 4/5* hotel. However when I got there the room I stayed in was only a 3*/4* quality at best.
However, these rooms only applied to 'Special Offer' customers. By no means were the rooms uninhabitable. They were very clean and were furnished with the essentials, but did not match up to the other rooms in the hotel. Problems with the hotel itself were only a few minor issues.
1. It is swimming in Non-English people. There is an English contingent, but I would only say about 30% are English. Many are German and Dutch.
2. Mosquitoes. Unbelievable amount of mosquitoes. So if you’re going make sure you buy 'Jungle Formula' Mozzy spray. Only an issue in the evening or if you leave your balcony doors open. Best to keep them all closed, and leave the a/c on all day. I never had no real issues, in this area but met many who did.
3. Pool is unbelievably salty, saltier than the sea outside the hotel. However if you don’t get it in your mouth or eyes, you should be fine. Beach is very nice; however is predominantly rock, so be aware of this. There is a sand beach a short bike ride away and bike rental is extremely cheap.
4. Kos Town is located about 2Km from the hotel and costs a small amount to go in to via taxi or bus. Be aware of this extra expense.
Now for the positives, the hotel is unbelievably clean. Maids clean the hotel 24/7. Rooms are cleaned daily to a very high standard.
Drink and food quality are of a high quality, however the food menu does get a bit repetitive but there are plenty of alternatives on offer including a free Italian and Chinese restaurant and a beach bar offering snacks. Service from the waiting staff is excellent; as soon as you finish one drink another is thrust into your hand within minutes. Staff are friendly.
Weather is brilliant, highs of 35 degrees when I stayed. The complex itself is brilliant and the entertainment team were non-stop if you like your activities. Personally, I would say this hotel is for more mature families or couples.
However the hotel is well equipped for younger children. Overall, I believe the ramira beach was an excellent little escape for the week I went at a good cheap price.
If you are able to overlook the issues I have outlined, you should enjoy your trip.

Just returned from a 1 week all inclusive holiday at the Ramira Beach Hotel. We were a party of four; 2 x Adults Husband and Wife, 2 x Teenagers Daughter and Friend (They spent all of their evenings in KOS Town which is so safe and friendly!!).
Fantastic weather - Great rooms with sea views - Food and service excellent - High standard of cleanliness throughout the Hotel - Pools and Beach area excellent - Mozzi bites - Zero all week (Good old Jungle formula Mozzi repellent) and to be honest we get more mozzies round our fish pond at home!!
So for all you miserable lot out there who didn't have a good time at the Ramira Beach I suggest you stay in Good Old Blighty next time!!
Oh well back home to sunny Bournemouth!!
