We have just returned from a fab week here, only booked it 4 days before departure. I was slightly worried about some of the comments. I have worked in the travel industry for over 20 years and know all these comments are personal opinions.
Situated at the end of a horse shoe shaped bay its a ten minute walk to the centre of the resort with a fantastic array of restaurants and shops. Water sports on the beach 2 mins from the complex.
It's a three star property offering a good standard of accommodation, yes our bathroom and some of the furniture in our apartment needed some TLC. The apartment staff are unbelievable, wonderful bar staff that within hours of arrival knew most of their guests names, they were great with my 12 year old and three teenagers. The kids had a wonderful week making friends very quickly. In my opinion better suitable for families with children over the age of 8 years, my reason for this comment - no shallow end of the pool and no activities other than the pool and beach across the road. Not a quiet property in the evenings.
If you are looking a for good value for money apartment complex with a wonderful compliment of staff - you will not beat this. It's not a quiet complex the music plays most of the day with the volume turned up in the evenings, the bar seems to be open until the last person goes to bed - we arrived at 4am in the morning and it was still open! My teenages regularly came to bed as the sun was coming up!! Entertainment 4 times a week.
Money - in 2008 it was much better to take sterling cash / and sterling traveller cheques, hotel reception will change the money at LIRA 2 to the UK£, but restaurants for sterling cash you could get 2.18/2.20 lira to the pound, hand over sterling cash for your meal and get your change in LIRA.
Before you book an any excursions check out those on offer in the town and the boat trip the apartment run - they have their own boat. The coast line is fabulous for the scuba diving. On the trip we did (I had one PADI qualified diver, two that had done a 1 day PADI intro course with 2 dives and a complete beginner) We joined a day out that catered for all of the kids, the younger boys dived for 30 mins, each with their own tutor.
Food - complex is on the expensive side, walk down the road to the Calypso cafe for breakfast - its a good value English Run place with a good english cuppa. Drinks in 2008 generally expensive, in the evening look for the restaurant deals that offer free first drink.
I have travelled the world and this is one of the few European holiday resorts and complex had I would return to.

We have just returned from the most fantastic fortnight at the Siesta Beach apartments! The moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, with Muzzy showing us to our apartment.
The apartment was fine. The two girls where quiet comfortable on the the sofa beds. The main bedroom was comfortable, the kitchen more than adequate for our needs; we only made basic breakfasts in it and boiled the kettle. The bathroom was fine as well, although the shower tended to be rather cool in the early evening. The rooms where cleaned daily the towels where changed daily and the bed linen twice weekly. However if travelling in the hotter months I would suggest you pay for the air conditioning at 80 YTL it is very reasonable and ensures a comfortable nights sleep.
The pool area was cleaned twice daily, once when the sun beds and parasols are put in place then again in the evening before the tables are in position. The bar staff where fantastic and seemed to enjoy themselves as much as we did. The waiters again where a credit to the Siesta Beach, David, Ozzy and the other one who's name I can't remember where always cheerful and happy to chat. Which considering the hours they worked is amazing. The food, although more expensive than in the town, is off a very good standard. We ate lunch there most days and had the occasional evening meal and breakfast as well. The entertainment at night isn't too bad, the BBQ night and Turkish night being good fun. However at the Siesta Beach everynight seems to turn into party night, so be prepared to be dragged on the bar to dance by Muzzy, Totti, Ozzy and co. Age is no excuse not too. My daughters aged 10 and 4 even joining in.
The reception is again well ran. If you have a problem it's sorted quickly and effectively. We rented a safety deposit box, at reception, we paid in sterling at £20 for a fortnight.
So all in all the Siesta Beach offers a fantastic family holiday.

Right here i go.. It was probably my most favourite holiday ever.. they are all just so nice and happy,. nothing is to much hard work for them.. if you need something, it will be there in 2 minutes.. i have to mention the staff, Ilham, Ozzi, Nico, Muzzy, Muzzy Jnr, David, Orkan, Tarkan and all of the cleaners.. At the pool they try and make it as fun as they can by doing water volleyball and water polo(( if your lucky they might join in)):D.. The food is SO nice especially the big breakfast and toast :P.. and the chef is so funny when he isn't cooking.. I would strongly recommend this to people.. especially if you have teenagers, or your are a adult or young adult.. also the two places where we went were amazing.. the water park and especially the Dreamgirls night out.. that is hillarrious..
Thank You Siesta Beach for a fantastic Holiday:D x x x

went back to siesta for 8th time, brill again,1or 2 changes since last year.chaz from the top bar has left and is badly missed, akon trys to keep everybody pleased but kind of spoils it when danceflorr is full and he puts on local turkey music then the place dies of death, vedat(billy)on reception when finished his shift comes to the bar for a while and will take you to bar st for a pub crawl, and he does look after you.ata from the top bar looks after everybody when they are around top bar/pool just can't do enough for you.
mustafa and totti at bottom bar like my last report says are realy good guys and will help you with anything you need to know.
the price for the boat trip has went up to 30lira and only 12 people get on the boat realy good day out as 1 of the bar staff get on the boat as well(only people staying at siesta get on this boat)you can get a cheaper boat booked in town but they tend to cram as many people on them as they can get and you may not get a sunbed(8hrs with no lie down @43c).
columbia, red dragon, windybay(chris from columbia runs this now) along with zest are the best places to eat.
the prices have went up this year most places will charge 4-5 lira for a pint lager, siesta 4.5lira a pint.
mr horrible is not a bad pub for a drink you don't get music blaring alnight its kept reasonable so you can hear what you are saying to each other(just along from red dragon other side of road).
the local dolmus is now 2lira each to bodrum,a taxi is 10lira.
if you want a quiet day away from siesta go to the jolly jug next to windy bay as they have their own swimming pool and they serve your beer to your sunbed.

Just come back from a week at the Siesta Apartments in Gumbet, Turkey.
First time to Gumbet, a very nice resort but purpose built. Siesta Beach apartments are at the end of the bay. Lovely relaxing walk along the seafront to the restaurants. The beach is more for water sports than relaxing and swimming but a very pretty bay.
Some lovely restaurants along the sea front and some are seated on the beach which was lovely. Food was ok but not brilliant. The best restaurant we found was the Red Dragon highly recommended. We ate there three times and in fact the first night was my birthday and they bought me over a cocktail and sang happy birthday lovely staff.
This restaurant is up towards Bar Street, walk along the beach front and walk up the path just passed the ladybird restaurant and turn right at the top of the hill just a long on the left hand side.
Lots of stray dogs try not to stroke them as i ended up with 5 flea bites the first day up my leg which were very saw.
The apartments were lovely and clean from seeing some of the other rooms i would recommend paying the extra and staying in the one bedroom apartments rather than the studios as these were lovely. Rooms were spacious clean and had everyhting you needed. They have a kettle, utensils, glasses, cups etc only have a 2 ring electric thing to cook on and not lots of supermarkets to buy things so not brilliant if you want to cook in the apartment.
Pool bar very nice and clean we only ventured to the bottom pool (dolphin bar) bar staff extremely friendly great mixture of music throughout the day saved me using my ipod. Unfortunately this is rather loud at night and if you just want a chill out holiday not great as music loud until 3am i would suggest ear plugs as this was the only fault of these apartments.
Overall had a nice cheap week away, although when you get to Turkey we found it rather expensive. We changed our money before we went to Turkish Lira but they accept pounds and also euros. You find they charge most things in shops in pounds and when you want to pay turkish they change it back at a higher interest rate so rather cheeky. Turkish are friendly but shops can be rather pushy and rude. We took £500 for a week for a couple ended up taking out another £150.00
We went for a Turkish bath but we didnt use the hotel one. Would probably recommend the one at the hotel as a bit more private heard lots of good things about it and about the same price.
We also went on the Chilled out boat day out and that was fab. You do stop at Camel beach dont use the loungers as your only there an hour and they charge you £5.00 to use them, food was lovely on the boat and generally a good day out.
Enjoy!!!

Just back from another fantastic week in Gumbet. Third time staying at Siesta Beach. Wouldn't consider anywhere else. Appartment spotless, beds clean and fresh. Staff brilliant, food great. Dolmus (local bus) is every few minutes throughout the day and night right outside hotel entrance. Centre of Gumbet only couple of minutes away and Bodrum only ten minutes. If you've stayed at Siesta Beach before, you'll know why we keep going back. If you haven't, you've got to go. Try for top floor appt (self cater) at bottom part of hotel. Heading back in September. Who knows, maybe see you there.

Our third holiday to Gumbet and third stay at Siesta Beach Apts. Accommodation first class (top floor self catering appartment) Staff fantastic. Feels like a true home from home. Booked agian for fourth visit in September. If you've never been, please try it. You wont regret it. Cant recommend it highly enough. Muzzy, Ozzy, Tottie and the crew will make your stay a memorable one, so much so that you'll be booking for your next trip as soon as you get back to the UK.

First holiday with the boyfriend and had a lovely time. The pool and the bar at the Siesta was lovely and couldn't have asked for better weather. We went on a boat trip twice which we booked with the hotel reception, I used to be a holiday rep so was weary of doing this but it was well worth it, about 10 people had the whole boat to our selves and we all had fantastic days, hense the reason we went twice.
Not sure if I would go back to Turkey as I didn't really like the area outside the hotel whenever you walked down the street you just had people trying to pull you in shops etc and it irritated me.
We would have preferred a room nearer the top of the hotel but what we had was addequate for what we paid for the holiday, Generally for what we paid a great holiday!!

First time in Turkey. Last minute holiday in the sun was what we wanted and we got it.
We changed rooms after the first night and ended up with the room above the shop at the top pool, the view from the balcony was fantastic.
The food, staff, cleanliness and location made Siesta Beach a must for us to return to next year.
We had a fab time and recommend it.

I have been back home from my holiday at Siesta Beach apartments for a week now, and I wish I was still there.
I had a fantastic time. The apartment was lovely, great pool. Just the right weather at this time of year - hot but not ridiculous.
The food in Gumbet is nice and there are lots of restaurants to visit, most of which have some sort of meal deal like a free bottle of wine with a main meal. There are loads of bars to choose from, whether you want cocktails or dancing.
The topbar at Siesta Beach was brilliant. A great place to go back to after your night out as it stays open until you want it to basically!
