I have been going 2 siesta for at least 5 years and each year i get the same excellent service the staff are fab and extremely helpful and the staff behind the dolphin are amazing and make this a very fun and livly bar at night. the hotel is within walking distance to bar street in gumbet where there are lots of bars and resturants to choose from i would definatly reccomend this hotel for both families and young people looking for for a relaxing and fun holiday. The food is also very reasonably price and good quaility and turkish nite is a must.

  • Advice: dont be affraid top ask the staff if u need to know something
  • Good For: Beach
  • Board Basis:Half board

My Friend and I are 18 year old girls and were looking for a last minute holiday in august 2010, this was the first hotel we looked at, and the price was within budget so we just went for it. When we got there staff were on hand to help with our luggage and were all friendly.
The food was fine and reasonably priced. All the staff were lovely.
There was great entertainment and the pools were always being cleaned.
The hotel was directly oppostie the beach and a 5-10 minute walk from the centre with shops, bars and resturants.
The rooms were fine for the price paid. We were out until the early hours of the morning every night and always felt safe returning back to Siesta.
The best holiday ive ever had and we are going back there this year for longer!!!

Bodrum Airport Is A Rip Off!!!

Siesta Beach Apartments I found to be very friendly and safe to stay. All the staff from top to bottom are very friendly and helpful. Its a long long walk to the Bar Street from here as Siesta Beach apartments is sited on the outer fringe of Gumbet.
The room is very small for self catering but as we ate out every day it didn't effect us. There was a fridge and well equipped kitchen utensils for those that needed them. The bathroom again small but fully functional. There was a leaking problem from the W.C. but it was just clean water from the cysten so it didn't really bug us at all. Our room was located 216 away from the noisy bar so hence our reluctance to complain in case we got moved nearer to the noise!!!!
What a noise it was as well!!!! I felt so sorry for anyone whose rooms were nearer to it than we were.
The pool table is free to play on, as are most in the Gumbet area. No faults found with the bar service as always got served and never was I ripped off. Sky Sports shown on the Televisions around the bar and never a problem to switch channels to watch whatever you wanted.
Food, sorry to say I never tried the Siesta Beach Apartments own menu. I strongly recommend the Mistral sited right next to The Windy Bay. Forget all of the other eating places as these two are right up there. The Mistral definitely has the edge though. Go for the set menu if you can because you get full value for money and the portions are more than mega huge. Both of these eating places are closely located to the Siesta so its not far to walk!!!!
Bar Street is twice as loud as the Siesta Beach so be warned!!!! Also strongly recommend the day boat cruise around the local bays for sunbathing and swimming. So good we did it three times. £15 for all inclusive drinks and food. A good way to get a tan!!!
Bodrum Airport is an absolute disgrace and should be banned from handling International traffic. Our return flight crew couldn't understand why everyone wanted drinks as soon as we boarded the plane. What was meant to be a quiet 20 minutes drinks trolly turned into nearly two hours as everyone refused to spend money on drinks at Rip Off Bodrum Airport. Bottled water 5 Euros and a slice of pizza for 5 Euros too. Duty Free prices were good though. No excuses for ripping off the international traveller though.
Finally a warning to take heed of. Prices for alot of things whether bars shopping or excursions. These were given in UK POUNDS and Euros and Turkish Lira. Very Very confusing and oh so easy to get mixed up. Have your wits about you as many people got caught out and didn't realise until later afterwards.
Siesta Beach Apartments is a good place to stay and don't take much notice of the other negative reviews. It is good here.
The weather stayed above 30 Centigrade for the whole 10 days we were here. What you do when it's raining, heaven knows as there isn't alot of choice when it does rain!!!!

  • Advice: Very Hot here!!!!

An Amazing Holiday

Siesta beach is simpley amazing. I have been to this hotel for the past few year, sometimes twice a year. the bar staff are more like family now and always have bent over backwards to help me and my friends.
The food has got better and better over the years and is year has been the best. If you fancy something different then there are places along the beach which is less then a 5 min walk. Would highly recommend the windy bay. Defo our favourite place to eat, best steaks in Gumbet.
There is also lots to do in the day from water sports on the beach, bodrum market, safari, water park, boat trips to Camel Island, ponies and camel rides and much much more.
At night there is always entertainment on from turkish night, breakdancers, belly dancers, circus show, ladys night (this is a must see) and lots more.
If it is your birthday when your away they will make that night very special.
The music is up-to-date and also will play any other music at your request. The bar can and sometimes stays open til 6/7 in the morning but the music will be lowered at around 3 oclock. Defo the place to be for 18 - 30 holidays but we have holidayed with lots for different ages and they have loved it. Aslong was you like a laugh and to party you shall love it.
Thanks to Lottie, Nico, Jayjay, Ufuk and Akon. We will be coming for the 5th time next year.

Awful Time

Would not recommend this hotel for anyone that values their hearing. The Dolphin Bar has gone down hill rapidly. Playing extremely loud music all night long, even when the bar is empty. Everything on site is based for the 18 year olds / single girls. No mention of that anywhere in the brochures. Prices on the bar's changed all the time. Top bar was amazing, low music so you could sit with friends, enjoy the music and still have a drink and chat. The rooms are not very good condition, leaking toilets, leaking air conditioning, no cooking facilities and lack of cutlery although asked for repairs or more things, never happened. The only thing the siesta are after is our money and not for making our holiday memories good. The bottom pool was seen to be cleaned once in the two weeks we were there and that was only as my partner cut his foot on broken glass in the pool. The food in the Dolphin bar was always cold. Would not advise anyone with a family to go there as there is no entertainment for the kids at all.

Way Better Than Expected!!

We went on this holiday expecting the worse and hoping for the better after reading the varied reviews for this hotel. We soon found out that most of them are unfounded and we really enjoyed ourselves inspite of the heat. Temps were topping 39 degrees on some nights which gets a bit uncomfortable. Paying 30GBP a week for airconditioning was definitely money well spent. We also paid 15GBP on a safety deposit box which are located at the Reception area which is the smart thing to do considering the previous reviews we've read.
My partner, I and my 14 year old son went on a Half Board Basis with First Choice and found the food selection a bit limited although if you fancy a bit of change you could order from the menu and they'll be more than happy to make it for you. There's also a great variety of restaurants in this resort. Just a short walk along the bay is the Mistral's Steak House and Bar which is very good and the prices are reasonable. They also give you a better rate for your pounds than they do at the hotel.
Now although the hotel has got 2 swimming pools, and a free use of the Tropicana Hotel's pool, we preferred to use the top one as its newer, cleaner and has got a better view. We also noticed that although there is a big sign by the pool telling you not to bring in your drinks or consume food not bought from the bar & restaurant, the staff tend to let you get away with it occasionally just as long as you don't flaunt it which is a big help especially if you are on self catering basis.
If you are wanting to save money on food and drinks, why not make a trip to the big Carrefour Supermarket at the big Turgetries-Bodrum Junction. It will cost you 10.00 TL each way on the taxi but if done at the earlier part of your holiday could save you a bit of money as prices in there are way cheaper than what you get on the small shops in the resort.
Although its true that the music in the bar tend to get too loud and go on till the early hours of the morning, making a request for a quiter room at the time of booking will save you a lot of hassle. Although requests made are non guaranteed, the staff are more than willing to do their best and accomodate. Unfortunately, my partner ended up with an ear infection while we were there but the on site, Scottish nurse, Sharon was very helpful and we got referred to a medical centre just up the road from the hotel so having a good travel insurance definitely came in handy.
The hotel has an onsite turkish Bath (Hamam) which is reasonably priced and which i highly recommend you try on the 1st or 2nd day of your stay. The staff that works in there are lovely and funny which makes the whole experience enjoyable. If you want a haircut, pedicure or manicure, aside from a Turkish bath and massage, there's also a place just along Dennys Restaurant which offer all these things for a fraction of the price that you pay in the UK.
The only negative point we have at this hotel is the cleaning procedure which tends to be hit and miss. Some days, the extent of their cleaning was only emptying the bins and nothing else. Towels are suppose to be change twice a week but were only done weekly instead. But then, if you have bigger complaints than these, make sure to let your travel rep know at once. That's what they are there for. Our rep, James was marvelous and was very keen to help with any queries or complaints we had.
All in all, our stay at Siesta Beach Apartment was an enjoyable one. We might not go back to the same hotel in the near future as we would rather see other parts of Turkey next time but i wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to friends. Just to say thanks to Simon,Bulent, Ahmed,Ziggy and the team for a great holiday.I would be more than happy to send my daughter and her friends to this hotel knowing that these guys would look after them well.
