on ariving at the hotel in the early hours.in the morning we got up for brekfast which was very nice as it was pass 10 oclock fin time.we were sat having coffee by bar when some people mostly english in a group were complaining about the hotel bad tummys and some being in hospital.one said it was ecoli which is aload of toss. as being only a few days before most of them were still drinking the local boze at the bar. i think thay were traying to intimidate the other guests.as some one who has been in some crummy places in my time mostley in england i found the hotel very nice the food was good and most of all the staff were briliant and very helpfull.but as for the olympic tour opperators i would not give them air space as most of the things we paid for ie taxis and trips never turned up so be aware of olympic traval???

If you value your health avoid this hotel at all costs. During my stay with may family during September 2010 we were all ill with gastric related problems and all at different times. In fact every other guest that I spoke to had experienced similar problems with two people being hospitalised.
The hotel is looking very 'tired' and is the worst managed that I have had the misfortune to visit in many years. I can only assume that the web-site was put together some time ago.
Very disapointing indeed, I will be taking matters up with my tour company!

Well... What can say.... the pictures on the net when I goggled it were lovely, however you could spit as far as the whole distance of the hotel (looks much bigger in the photos)to start the journey to Turkey was fine, we arrived in the afternoon, on arrival the reception staff could hardly speak any English so explaining that we has booked a double room with a double bed and a double room with two singles was a nightmare to say the least.
When we eventually got through to the reception staff they were as frustrated as we were. We went to our rooms, they were not what you would call clean for a 4* hotel but they would do. The air conditioning sounded like a new-matic drill all night so we had to turn it off. The beds were so hard my friends and I could hardly move in the morning.
There were not enough sun beds to cater for the amount of people that were at the hotel and this meant sitting on hard chairs in the sun, the hotel staff could not speak hardly any English so everything was a hassle to explain. The food for the whole 7 days was atrocious and most had some form of food poisoning by the middle of the week, cooked meats not even being covered or even iced on display (it was a rush to see if you could beat the fly’s to it) and the food was tasteless and often did not go together at all. The only saving grace was the fruit (if you’re on a diet then you will be fine).
The none hotel staff that were selling something to you were nice if they thought you were going to buy something but then soon showed their disgust when you said no... however we did venture on a boat trip offered to us in the hotel (this was not from the hotel but vendors that they allow in to site) it was terrible the boat was okay but the music system kept braking down and the bar staff on the boat would decided how much they would charge for a drink depending on if they thought you were fair game, needless to say they were charging my group 20 liras for a single run and coke... £ 10 in English money.
The best part of the holiday was the Turkish bath and scrub provided in the hotel this was wonderful and although the people did not speak any English at all he certainly knew what he was doing.
The prices in Boderum are extortionate and everything was in Euros or pounds so for example you could pay up to £5 English for a can of coke (with no added alcohol). The room service was poor and the towels were often gray rooms not cleaned well just beds made with no change of sheets.
In all I would not recommend this holiday to anyone as there were few positives other than the heat which I must say was consistent.
Oh by the way make sure you take an iron as there ironing service is second to none, I gave a pair of trousers to be pressed and they came back exactly the same and they charged me £5.00.
Don’t say that you have not been warned, they really meant all inclusive (bugs, food poisoning and poor service).

Not a good start to our holiday we got there at about 3 in the morning and the rooms were double booked which we were very annoyed about, abviously. But they got us a taxi to a sister hotel about five minutes away just for the night. We could stay at that one if we wanted to or we could come back, we came back. Apart from that it was one of the best holidays ive been on. The weather was beautiful, the rooms were better than hotels at home, so clean and very modern. Only thing was there wwasnt a great deal of beds around the hotel so you had to be down early to get them and the food was a bit basic on an evening. But after all what do u expect for a last minute £199 deal.. Come here!!

We (4 adults 42yrs to 54 yrs) went end Sept/Oct for a week. Good location between Gumbert and Bodrum (not at all noisy) only a 10 min stroll to Gumbert a little longer to Bodrum (we always ordered a taxi to go to Bodrum from reception - cost £5.00). We would say that the accommodation was very pleasant in the way in was positioned - beautiful gardens - comfortable self-contained rooms with en-suite and fridge/h.dryer etc. Biggest let down by far (and that includes the opinion of other English and German guests) was the FOOD. Absolutely no choice from day to day to day.... On reflection I would suggest that by day 2/3 we should have cut our losses and eaten out especially for breakfast. e.g. full-monty (excellent) english breakfast could be had for £3.00 in Gumbert just a 10 minute stroll away. Alternatively, what we did, was to take the courtesy hotel mini-bus to Bitez beach each day and we paid for lunch at the hotel-affiliated beach bar at this location. Staff members in Bitez were absolutely great - they truly made our week a good laugh - very friendly. Back to the hotel - Not as clean as you would perhaps hope, but OK. If you don't like to see stray cats/dogs then I would say this region is not for you as they are quite literally on almost every street corner night and day (I'm a huge animal lover but I questioned who has the worse life - one of these animals or some of our own dogs kept in kennels or tiny flats??) Bodrum Marina (by night) quite glitzy but expensive on the front. Overall I would recommend this region for either a lively night life or a quiet time at the hotel bar (bar staff OK as long as you make the effort to be on their good side!) Hotel (female) receptionist looked like a taylor's dummy with about as much facial expression - the male receptionists were both OK. Hope this info helps - a true and honest reflection of our stay.

Stayed there for a week in june 2008 and everything about the hotel was perfect, would go back without any hesitations! Was a little worried before the holiday due to some previous reviews however the hotel could not be faulted. Arrived early hours of the moring to a quick check in and a cold bottle of water in fridge in the room. The rooms were lovely and the hotel itself was lovely. Food was nice and was available all day pretty much and the bar always had what you asked for. All the staff would do anything to please and nothing was too much trouble! Would definatly recommend and would definatly go back!

My sister and I stayed in Lambience for one week all-inclusive. We arrived in the hotel at 3am and were greeted by staff who were friendly until we got to the reception and was told that we only booked one hotel room were we had booked two separate rooms with the travel agent and paid extra money for this with the travel agent.
The man at the reception argued with myself and told us we had to speak to the manager the next day, So we had to share a room for one night when we had paid for in advance two separate rooms for the week. The next morning I spoke to the manager he did not even apologise to us he told us to ring budget travel our agent to ask them.
Our travel agent told us to write in a complaint as they cant dealt with this over the phone, which we did when we returned home.
We were then moved into 2 separate rooms, which were fine. The food is good but the breakfast buffet is not like at home it just bread and fruit. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the pool was very nice and all drinks were included in on the price.
We went on boat trip for the day, costs about 15euro, which is great; you go to camel beach and get lunch on the boat also. The view is very nice and I would return again to bodrum but not to the same hotel. The shopping is great value but be prepared, as they will constantly try to sell to you. Plus the men over there are yummy (part of the reason to go again on holidays if you like attenton)
When we returned home I wrote in a complaint to the travel agent, only got refunded the cost of a one-night stay in the hotel, nothing for the trouble caused by the staff. I would not recommend Budget travel or the hotel.

a rubbish hotel with mostly rubbish staff who could not give a monkeys if you become ill of heat exposure or food poisoning. we had no air con for the whole 10 days and each day we asked reception to move us where the air con worked or we would be flying home, each day we were told it would be fixed. the heat was between 45 and 50 every day and the whole expeirience was awful. we had to sleep with wet t shirt over us and the room was fithy with maggots on the bathroom floor. we were both ill and the water from the afternoon snack bar was a tank full of slime. the food at the snack bar was dusty because of the tombs and eating lunch in a graveyard is just so grose!
also to top it off the male staff kept leering at me when my boyfriend turned his back and then ignord me when i didnt respond to their advances! gumbet is a flea infested dump with rip off prices. cheaper to stay in london for a week. the pool was not adaquate for all the guests and looked disgusting by the end of our miserable week, the worst bit was that we didnt even book this hotel and were moved from another turkish 5 star which was even worse. we will never retirn to turkey and i dont think we are alone, there are far nicer places to go for a lesser price where people care about the effects of heat on the human body!

We arrived at half five in the morning, greeted by the receptionist who was very helpfull he asked if we would like a sandwich or some water with was great becuase there was a girl pregnant that was on our flight, so that was nice.
We got to our room and it was basic but close to the pool area and reception and very clean. The pool was lovely very peacefull and always had sunbeds and had huge cousions to sit on it was also beside an ancent ruin they were tooms of important people cant say who but it was lovely to look at!
The food was lovely breakfast was the best but I stayed for 2weeks and most nights a lot of people complained because it was always chicken, but it was ok I thought!
The entertanment was a bit poor, the animation man was a bit pervey and I refused to flirt with him and he ignored me for the rest of the week. Which I think should not be the case seen as he is the only animation in the hotel (and may I say not the best, hes mad about himself).
The staff were very nice and worked so hard all day and night never stopped, very helpfull, very informative and one waiter on his break showed us to the nerest internet shop was and stayed with us untill we where finished. I think the staff were excellent and really looked after you!
If you suffer with mosquito bites badly spray loads on your ancles while at the pool area at night time, I got 50 bites on both legs (I counted) and you can only imagine what I looked like haha, I went to the hospital in Gumbet 5mins away in a taxi! and got tested but all clear thank god!
They have a great selection of tours, I went on the ephusus trip and pammuculay trip which was a brillient trip well worth 17euro you travel for 5 hours while hearing the history of Turkey with 4 refreshment stops and lunch then stay in a fabulous hotel for one night all inclusive and then back on the road again and when you arrive at ephusus it is amazing you have to go really and pammuculay this is a hill of limestone with shallow pools all down the slope its a must see and down the road is cliopatras pool where she swam, its still the same with rocks and 30decrees mineral water which was great for my bites and for anyone with eczema.
The temperatures where between 40 and 50decrees very hot I no but the pool was refreshing at them times.
Over all this hotel and resort is well worth the 4hour flight it offers a great variety of things to do for all age groups I am 17years old and it was a brillient holiday in my opinion.

We arrived at about 4am and we were asked if we wanted something to eat. We were told there would be a bottle of water in the fridge in our room but there wasn't, nor was there enough towels for the 3 of us. The room was fairly spacious though considering there were 3 beds. However, the bathroom was disgusting. There was no bath just a mouldy old shower cubicle that didn't shut properly. The safety deposit box didn't work either and the staff didn't know how to fix it. The pool area was lovely (but the water was freezing!) and it backs onto the ruins of Myndos Gate which looks really pretty. The food was good for 2 days then it gets all too repetitive. The snack bar offers better food in the afternoon. The 'Exclusive Beach Club' was a huge disappointment. The beach is tiny and you get instructed on arrival which sun loungers you have to lie on. It's only soft drinks that are free to hotel guests. The beach is very pebbly/rocky so it was a challenge walking into the sea!
The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. All except the barman with the long hair who held a grudge against us because we weren't interested in him or his animator friend. He hit us where it hurt... he stopped serving us alcohol (he would blatantly ignore us and would always serve others first)! So girls, beware, if you turn him down, he can get his revenge!
L'Ambience is definitely not a 5* hotel in British terms. I would say more like a good 3* - it was OK for what we paid (£290 AI 7nights). We loved Bodrum and Gumbet and have booked a return trip for next June (but definitely NOT the L'Ambience though!).

The hotel was very well laid out, Spacious and very clean. The booking was as per our expectations for a 4 star hotel and we were not disappointed. The pool was superb, very large with plenty of sun beds and scatter cushions all around (no you don't need to get up and reserve a sun bed either) with probably the highest level of cleanliness I have ever seen. You also get the option of gazebo and shade.
The rooms were more than adequate with a great En Suite and lovely towels which were changed daily. It was kept very clean with superb service from the room boys.
The hotel is a 20 minute walk from downtown Gumbet or 40 minute walk from Bodrum which means you are away from the lively side of life disco's etc but this was a blessing.
The food was great with varied offerings even over a two week period and there were no limits. However you need to "buy" water with your meal not expensive but it's something you expect to be supplied.
The general staff were friendly and helpful. The only exception to this was the bar staff who had various pricing policies depending on how they felt but we ended up going out in the evening for a drink at some local bars.
This was also a lot cheaper as the hotel was expensive on all their drinks.
We had reservations taking a female teenager (the Turkish male reputation) with us but experienced no problems. All the shopkeepers are pushy but that's Turkey, if you don't like it don't go.
Everything considered we would return to both the hotel and the resort and that’s the best compliment we could pay.

Where do i begin?! an absolute sesspit. The staff were the most rude, ignorant, obnoxious people i have ever had the misfortune of meeting. The receptionist can barely speak a word of English and gets irritated when you ask him for any help. The drinks are served in half measures and We actually caught the bar staff putting no vodka at all in our vodka and cokes at one point, they then became aggresive when we asked them about it. The food is absolutely disgusting and there are cats jumping all over the tables and eating the food from your plates. The rep fitted in with the disgracefull and unhelpfull attitudes of the other staff and the advertised "satellite television" is all Turkish! Hotel from hell, do not ever visit.....ever!
