Just back from a one week stay at the Iliada hotel and would not recommend it. food was average and consisted of the same food every day, we had chips in the evening and chips for breakfast. We found that the drinks were watered down quite a lot. The sunbeds around the pool... more

Excellent beach location, upgraded from a side to full sea view. The food was fine; if you go half board you can have a hotel lunch instead of dinner and get out and visit the local tavernas. The beach was good - water sports, diving and boat trips. The hotel was clean and... more

Great hotel with great location, clean and well looked after rooms. When I arrived I was up-graded to a sea view room which had great views. Only down fall which didn’t bother us that much was you had to get up before 8.30 am to get a sun-bed around the pool- and the... more

On returning for a second year to this friendly hotel, I was slightly disappointed to find that certain aspects had been allowed to slip. There seemed to be more of an influx of Cypriots albeit it was their weeks bank holiday (14th - 20th) and did they let us know. They... more

A Nice Hotel
May 2007, a nice hotel is this. Mixed reviews previously but I would recommend. Great location with the beach right out the back door. Friendly staff, nice food - despite the previous reviews on this page. The one bad point ws the music in the bar area on the ground floor, which went on until midnight. It wouldn't have been all that bad if it were decent, but some of these singers were poorer thatn some of the freaks that apply for x-factor!! We stayed 7 days, the first and last two days were great, hot and sunny as you'd expect. The other 3 days were overcast and windy, with one of them having torrential downpours and thunderstorms...not what you'd expect. Anyway...8-10 for me.
lovely hotel everything you could want!
me and my partner have just returned from a week half bored in iliada beach hotel, cyprus, this was the best holiday we have had so far and would definatly recommend for families with children and couples. couldnt fault the hotel so cant understand what some people have written! the food is lovely.breakfast is a buffet with everything you could want, cereal, toast, full breakfast etc and evening meal is a different themed night with lots of different dishes to taste some are our own!you can change your evening meal to lunch menu which has everything you could want from burger, salads, toasties etc if u wanted to go to one of the many restaurants on your door step.we ate 3 evening meals at the hotel, first asian night which was chinese, japanese etc, second cypriot night and third was french but it was a roast to me!! we didnt stay in hotel to watch entertainment as so much going on outside hotel from robbie williams, abba truibutes, karoke, magic dancing waters is a must see esp if you got children.you see water dancing to beats, volcanoes erupting and a lazer show lasts about an hour.word of advice dont sit front tables you get sprayd near the end! hope thios review helps, also plenty watersports and water park brilliant in ayia napa!
the worst food i have ever tasted!!!!
we stayed here on a half board basis and did not eat in the restaurant once! the food at lunch time was terrible. the burgers had blood coming out of them and when we pointed it out to a member of staff, we were told thats how they are cooked in cyprus! funny how the burgers i experienced everywhere else were actually cooked. also the menu was very limited. the staff were rude and the pool area was dirty and cramped. if you are not part of one of the groups who go to this hotel every year, dont stay here because you will be made to feel very unwelcome. the pool bar was loud and very expensive which meant we had to go to the local supermarket every morning for bottled water to last us the day. our bed sheets and pillow cases were thread bare and were hardly ever changed. on a good note, our room was big with a lovely sea view and the location of the hotel was excellent. best part of my holiday: the weather. go to protaras but not this hotel!!!!
Small and friendly
Love this hotel. Good position right next to lovely beach and central to all resort attractions. Hotel small enough to have a personal touch. Food good and improving since hotel ownership changed. Usually buffet but 2 a la carte nights each week with waiter service and excellent meu choice. Rooms clean and comfortable, clean towels each day and free pool towels. Most rooms have a sea view. Generally staff pleasant and helpful. Evening entertainment okay, most are professionals who do all the big hotels and Eden Square (do go there - good restaurants, cocktails and entertainment) - magic act superb!
Lovely position, terrible food
The Illiada Beach Hotel is in a lovely position facing the beach and in the centre of Protaras but the food is the worst we have ever experienced. We definitely would not return to this Hotel, but would return to Protaras which is a lovely resort. In the restaurant they have theme nights but most of the time it was uneatable with the same boring choice of dessert every night.
Never Again
The resort of Protarus is very good, lots of shops and restaurants, which is just as well because the food in this hotel is awful, very little choice and most of the time poorly cooked and presented, they should stay away from theme nights and concentrate on making there own dishes presentable. A few of the staff were ok and the odd one very nice and helpfull, but on the whole they were miserable and unhelpfull. There was a charge to have the locked mini bar cleared, so that you could use it as a fridge, around £24 for two weeks, again glad of the local shop ( fresh water from there each day ) Notices in the lifts, telling you not to bring drink or food from outside into the hotel or grounds. The rooms were no more than average more three star than four. If you decided to stay in evenings to watch the average to very poor entertainment, you had to make sure you had a seat with a view and not stuck behind a pillar and see nothing,( most evenings a bonus.) We have gone abroad regularly over the last six years and it is most definately the worst hotel we have stayed in, we will not be going back.
fantastic hotel
we have just returned from the iliada beach resort and have had a wonderful time. the hotel was clean, in an excellent location and we could find no fault with the hotel or facilities at all. definitely one of the nicer hotels in the resort, not too big and with a central location. staff were lovely and entertainment seemed to cater for eveyone. although we were on a half board basis we didn't actually eat in the restaurant as we enjoyed eating out at the various restaurants around the resort and with so many to choose from why not!? we only arrived home late last night but i have already booked for next year, this time for 14 nights!
Great Place
We have just returned from the Iliada Beach in Protaras. As a familyof four - two boys aged 11 and 15- we were lucky enough to have one of the three largest rooms in the hotel - a standard room with an annexe room for the children. The hotel is very clean, the staff are friendly and polite and it is very conveniently situated. We really enjoyed having the hotel pool and the sea to choose from when taking a dip, and the pool side bar/restaurant provided great shade and good food and drink. Obviously, you pay hotel prices for drinks but there are two supermarkets within easy walkin distance that enable you to stock up on some essentials. Pay £22 Cyprus pounds at reception and they will clear the mini bar fridge for your use for two weeks - well worth it. The down side - the food in the evening restaurant was almost the same every night despite the advertising of different themed night. As half board guests, we chose to have lunch by the pool and eat out each evening. Beware of the poolside barman - a great guy with a great sense of humour but hellbent on getting you drunk - just gives you a pint glass, a few ice cubes, a mixer and a bottle of spirit of your choice. Another tip - don't book trips through your rep - the local booking offices are cheaper and speak good English
small friendly hotel
very good position, beach 40 feet from pool and outside bar, barman hilarious, staff very friendly, food improved, plenty of variety. comfortable rooms with mini bar. overall a lovely holiday returning very soon
Awful Hotel
Never stay in this hotel! The staff are rude and unhelpful, the food awful and facilities inadequate. The noise from the hotel entertainment and the travel reps is deafening from the rooms, and goes on untill the early hours. I'm 27 years of age and enjoy a good night out but sometimes you just want an early night and at the Iliada this is not an option. The location is good, being very near Fig Tree Bay, and the various restaurants in the resort, with most of them being very good. Which is just as well because the food in the hotel is not even up to 3 star standard nevermind the 4 star you pay for. If I had paid a budget price then I wouldn't bother complaining but that wasn't the case. Really liked Protarus and would visit again. We went into the Capo Bay hotel to have a look inside and it was superb and so was the food. Constantinos the Great was very nice too.
