This really shouldn't be classed as 4*! The pool area & restaurant look nice but the rooms are quite scruffy and could do with a refurb. Usually staff abroad are friendly but all the staff apart from the cleaners were miserable looking and some of them were rude and unhelpful. There was not much choice as far as food goes but the bit that there was, was nice most of the time. The entertainment for both children & adults is appauling! Evening entertainment is half an hour disco for the kids where the kids entertainer doesnt even talk to them (this is one young lady who does the day entertainment as well - water polo, darts, bowls etc). Adult entertainment is either laughable acts that would be booed off Britains got talent or karaoke and every night after Bingo! To sum it up, I felt as if the hotel were sticking to a really low budget as they seemed short staffed too. If you have any questions please email me burkejo@ymail.com and I will give you an honest answer.
P.s. try not to sit around the pool by the bushes next to the restaurant as there is a really strong odour of cat poo!

I have just got back from a week away at the crown Elamaris Resorts and I had a brilliant time.
Before I went I checked the reviews on the hotel and was horrified on what I red and was dreading going here...
Only to be suprised, the rooms are basic but very big, you could have fitted 5 double beds in them! The furniture is a bit dated but everywere is clean and the linen and towels are changed everyday. AT the end of the day you dont go on holiday to sit in yr room!
The food was nice and the choice of breakfast on a morning was a full english, cereal, toast, yoghurt and fruit etc, lunch and tea were always different for example, spare ribs, curries, chips, pizza, stews, and lots more, with snacks and ice-creams available throughout the day, I couldnt complain about the food! The pool bar is good but always order a couple of drinks cos with them been short staffed it takes a while to get served again! The choices of alcoholic drinks is endless and enjoyed working my way down the 22 cocktails on the cocktail list! THre are a few bars outside the hotel if you get bored, the windmill bar is a must as has great entertainment. The staff at the hotel are friendly but rushed of their feet bless them this is the only thing wrong with the hotel they need more staff!
All i can say is give the hotel a chance ignore all the bad reviews on here the hotel is down as a 4* but I would give it a very good 3*, you get what you pay for and in my opinion its a very good basic cheap and cheerful hotel,I will be going back next year with my best mate, I made lots of friends here.
Happy holidays

We got back yesterday and although the rooms are basic and in need of updating, all in all we had a great time. We were all inclusive and found that the food was very good, the staff were friendly, especially Agnes and Thomas. For the price we paid I think it was very good value for money and I would go back again.

We have just returned from 2 weeks in cyprus and stayed the second week at this resort and it was awful. The first week we had stayed at Akti beach, pafos which was fantastic and it was such a come down when we arrived at the Crown hotel for are second week. Where do i start, you know on arrival thats its going to be terrible due to the actually state of the buliding, the pool area was shabby and in need of refurbishing along with the whole resort, the rooms were very old. Its advertised as 4* but i find this difficult to understand. Cant comment on the food as we didnt eat there but i feel that was probably a blessing. Very nice beach though and is in easy walking distance.

Stayed at the Elamaris in july with my wife, daughter and son in law.Stayed on all inclusive basis and enjoyed every minute. Found staff to be very friendly and helpful. The rooms were basic but clean with maid service six days a week if required, public areas of the hotel were spotless. The food was generally speaking very good but we did eat out on three occasions from choice having stayed in this area before we wanted to go to a couple of local resturants that we had used before. The entertainment at the hotel was very good with the entertainment team working very hard to ensure that there was something for everyone. All in all a fantastic holiday ana we cant wait to go back again next year

The worst holiday all round for me, firstly the hotel is not and no where near a 4 star, even the hotel says it is not, food is basic and similar everyday, rooms are basic also and similar to self catering, its not in protaras, infact its further towards famagusta, and not a five min walk to protaras strip. The drinks are obviously not that strong either cos being all inclusive, i drank as much before bar closes at 11.30/12 and i then drove and got puled by police and breath tested and their laws are worse than english for drink driving, i passed...
however staff are nice, and if you want a cheaper ride back to the airport, just ask the staff and they can arrange something for you.
besides all that left my then g/f there after a big falling out, thats when you really get to know someone and to top it all of trodd on sea urchins, hence dont go into the sea by rocks in unfamiliar places with out protective footwear on, and ensure you have good insurance with all details on you, or like my self you will find because of that, you will have to walk to the hospital with hundreds of spikes in your feet rather than an ambulance coming to pick you up like what would happen in england.
- Advice: DONT GO UNLESS ITRS VERY CHEAP AND YOU DONT MIND BASIC

well its been over a year now since myself and my partner stayed at this hotel and its taken me this long to have the strenght to write on here..il try to make it short and sweet and get to the point..but its simple from my experience and hopfully after i win my court case that this hotel should have been shut down many years ago and its by far not up to EU standards and is a death trap..myself and my partner stayed here as we was attending his mothers wedding but couldnt afford there hotel and we didnt mind staying in a different one BIG MISTAKE..after realising the unsafe balconys being ill after eating there so called food trying to swim in crap and rubbish service and cleaning, unsafe broken glass and tiles on floor and gettin stuck in the lift three times i was quickly aware this was no 4* hotel..on my 3rd night we arrived back at the hotel after feeling unwell my partner sat on the balcony and i went back into the room, to activate the air con the patio doors had to be closed..as the doors connected the glass cracked at stomach hight into big sharpe edges!!..percing through my addomen and penertrating my anterior wall further glass fell from the enclosure causing deep trauma to my right ankle and after falling to the ground i recived further injurys to my lower body..the upper part of the glass stayed in place..i was taken by abumlance to there hospital were i went under operation and had to stay in hospital for 10days and a further 4weeks in cyprus..i now have to go under a further operation a year later here as they failed to attach my peroneus longus tendons back together in my foot while under there treament leaving me in agony with ankle instability..i have further been informed of the standard regulations for the lenght of doors and shatter proof and should have been at least 6ml thick the glass measured the width of a match stick..and fell once cracked in dagers!!..i dread to think of this being a child we have all see people walking into patio doors on you been framed and bouncing back..i very much doubt you would bounce back from them!!..i hope my bad experience can be prevented for others by posting this..i wouldnt want my worst enemy to stay there .i do have all the photos of the evidence and my massive scars on stomach buttock knee and foot and would happily email them to any one would like proof as i wouldnt say they are family friendly from how they was taken amyo85@live.co.uk xx

Me and my Boyfriend read some reviews to this hotel - and most were bad... we decided to book anyways because it was cheap prices. We got to the hotel (after a moody bus driver) and our room was an upgrade, it had a big kitchenette and longe area that led onto the balcony, bathroom with a bath and shower and a big bedroom. it was really lovely. We got there late at night so we had a quick drink and dumped our luggage and went to the nearest place - WINDMILLS, this was a cocktail bar... It is the best bar i have been to, the owner - Tony, was so friendly and the more we visited the more free drinks and shots we got =] the dj - Emma was nuts she really did make good entertainment. The hotel is near a few bars but we always ended up in the Windmills. In the morning we went to have a look around the hotel, it was lovely the pool was nice and clean but you do have to be quick at getting a sunbed as they go... its good for children as it has a childrens pool and does advertise some activities, we did not see any of them as were must of been geting ready. The Food was gorgeous i had about 4 plates every time i went up lol... and the beer was good, and the cocktails were delicious =] altho the beer didnt get us drunk... the only bad point i can think of is the staff wer'nt the friendlist of people, but hey would you have a smile on your face if you were working in the sun and looking at people drinking and havin fun... lol. there was a small beach next to the hotel, it was nice and wasnt to packed with people so you could relax, if you wanted a gorgeous beach you can go to Fig-Tree Bay, this was a bud trip away- al buses were 1.80 euro. The hotel has a rep, we booked with her to go to the water-park in Ayia Napa which was so much fun. i would definatly go back... We are going to go back in October, but this time we are bringing the whole family... and if we dont stay in this hotel we will be visiting the Windmills. For me this holiday was Briliant!

we.ve just arrived back from cyprus after staying at the crown resorts elamaris in pernera
i thought i would write a review because after we had booked the holiday i read some of the
reviews and got worried because they were mostly bad.our stay was excellent the hotel was very clean;all the staff were very nice and could.nt do enough for you,the cleaning of the room was first class the maid came every day and did a great job.when you book the crown resorts it says its in protaras but its in penera whch is a very nice place its got a very nice beach and there are nice bars and restuarants to eat and drink at night. From pernera to protaras they.ve built a walk way along the beach which is vsry nice and it took me and my partner a 20 minute walk and what a nice walk for topping up up tan.

This hotel needs reviewing. This is no way a 4STAR. We have stayed in 4star all over the place Spain,Barbados,Gran Canerie & Pathos all these places have been brilliant. This Hotel needs revamping, more staff, brought up to date & the food!!!! What can i say!DO NOT GO ALL INCLUSIVE.Its a BASIC hotel & would be suitable for girlie holidays & lads holidays who pop over to Aiya Napa then can sleep it off all day. There is more to say but would need more space. Other than that Protaras is beautiful
