Pernera Beach Hotel Reviews
" Fantastic Holiday "
Submitted By: wilko22Party of 5, grandparents, daughter and two children aged 6 and 1.
At the hotel we had a superior family room which included balcony with sea view, fridge (which is a must with young children), telephone, TV, air conditioning unit (which was a must), tea and coffee making facilities with fresh supplies daily (except Sundays), maid service and clean towels daily (except Sunday) and the room was very comfortable and spacious. For a 3 star hotel this hotel was fantastic. Our toilet seat broke whilst we were there and we let reception know and it was sorted the same day. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The two pools are well maintained and clean and we couldnt keep the children out of them. There were plenty of sunbeds, if not by the pool there were some further down nearer the beach on a lawned area. The beach to the side of the hotel was lovely with reasonably priced sunbeds and the sea was crystal clear. To the front of the hotel there is a small rocky beach which is great for young children (and adults) to go exploring in the rock pools. This area is also great for snorkelling.
The animation team are great and work extremely hard to keep everyone entertained throughout the day but dont push you if you dont want to get involved. The football every afternoon was great, the teams got very competitive!!
The food was extremely good. Breakfast was between 7 and 10 (Buffet style)and there was a huge choice of food, something for everyone and you would have to be a very fussy eater not to find something you liked. Plenty of tea, coffee and juices etc too.
Evening meal was buffet style between 7 and 9 and again there was a huge choice including soup, salads, pasta, roasts with various vegetables, fish, etc etc and there was a huge choice of desserts, you could eat as much as you wanted, there was also a children's menu which was very good too.
Also worth a mention is the access, for pushchairs it was brilliant, there were ramps at the main entrances and also lifts throughout the hotel.
The hotel is well placed, away from the noiser areas of Protarus but not too far away!
If you like walks we would recommend walks along the sea front to both sides of the hotel especially to the left as there is a beautiful little white washed Church and just beyond that a little harbour.
We booked via Olympic Holidays and their rep there, Martin, was really helpful, he knows the Island very well and gave us good advice on where to go and what to do. The Lazy Day Cruise was fantastic and well worth the money we paid which included transfers and lunch. We also had a trip to Fig Tree Bay, beautiful and would recommend this to everyone - gets very busy but is still worth the trip. Plenty of restaurants around this area too for snacks, drinks etc.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and when we go back to Cyprus we will go back to the Penera Beach Hotel again.
Advice: Well worth the visit and will definately go back there
Activities: Lazy Day Trip
Good for: Beach

Submitted By: Lou. HA lot of the beaches charge for umbrellas/sun beds but if you walk a little up the coast, on the new walkway towards protarus, there is a restaurant/cafe with free sun loungers, right by a small beach. There are plenty of water sports available, my husband and daughter spent most of their time snorkelling off the beaches.
We took a trip on the yellow boat which was fab, it took you along the coast and to a beautiful bay for swimming, snorkelling or relax in the floats provided. We also took a trip on the red open top bus, best done at the start of your holiday as they point out some nice places to visit. Water park is also worth a visit.
Advice: Loved Perners would definitely go back for another holiday.
Activities: Must try the open top red bus and the yellow boat trip.

" Best Holiday!! "
Submitted By: RachelSunshineThe one downside i would mention, was that our air conditioning broke down and it took a over a day to fix it. But that was the only hiccup through the whole week.
Advice: Loved it, and will definately go back!
Activities: Watersports and Scuba Diving!
Good for: Beach

Submitted By: holly xeveryhwere is very clean and welcoming, thats why we are going for the third time in a few days. All the staff are lovely and always wanting to have fun and get you to enjoy your holiday to the full.
The hotel is great for all ages with entertainment all the time like: watersports, games in the pools, archery, darts, volleyball, sports day. on a night: adult games, parrot shows, comidians, magic shows and our favourite the music quiz.
The rooms are cleaned everyday very presisly, leaving lovely open space when you come back on an evening.
I would defo highly recomend hireing a car for a few days and go sightseeing and exploring.
Cyprus is soo amazing if you get to see the culture and the main places to go.
Advice: look in a leaflet about protaras and go to them places, they are amazing
Activities: places to go: water park, paphos, TROODOS MOUNTAINS

" HOILDAY "
Submitted By: princessJoloThey wear coats and scarfs when its boiling hot and want all the door closed! there was a wedding in the hotel so one day we couldnt use the pool and one night they moved the eating area without notice? really disappointed as we felt that we was no longer priority!
There is bangning in the morning between 9-10am not sure what that was but it was bad. no refrigertor in room which was a shame.
Cleaners was not very good to be honest the balcony was never cleaned there was a mark on my bed for aleast 5 days and the bathroom got very dirty but never cleaned? $35 Euros to keep room on which i thought was a joke but apart from all that the food is good the people are very nice. the pool is great but way to cold. the beach is close!! which is brillant!
found all the bar staff nice. really nice people over all.. they all speak english and make you feel very welcome!.
I would defo go back expect from the fridge and the banging and the wedding accident!
nice hotel but the cleaning needs to improve but overall a nice hoilday!
Advice: very nice place... you need to go to ayia napia
Activities: the waterpark is the best

Submitted By: Mrs S MURPHYOn arrival in the small hours, I noticed that one of the neon letters above the hotel was not illuminated and I wondered if that meant that things had deteriorated. I need not have worried, virtually nothing had changed since 2004.
On checking in I mentioned to the reception desk that we had stayed before and the following morning we were presented with two guest towels and a note which read "A gift for our loyal guests".
Our room was immaculate as was the bathroom. The air conditioning was adequate though not cool as the room we had in 2004. On that occasion we had room 365 - a huge corner room with a bathroom with natural light. The balcony in that room was also larger than average and the room had a huge floor standing air conditioner which pumped the hot air out onto the balcony. This made one end of the balcony uncomfortably hot but there was plenty of room to sit at the other end. The air conditioner in room 365 was so effiecient you would shiver at the lowest setting!
One thing I must mention is that I was delighted to find that the bedrooms are non-smoking. You are only allowed to smoke outside on your balcony.
Breakfast is served in the dining room off the lobby. It is non-smoking inside and air-conditioned. There is also an outside veranda for smoking guests. The food was excellent with loads of choice. Watch out for pancakes and omelettes, cooked fresh every third morning or so on the outside veranda. This is something you normally only get with 4 star hotels and above.
The evening meal was served in the Taverna overlooking the beach. It is not air-conditioned but does have overhead fans and also gets a breeze from the sea. Again the food was of an excellent quality. I particulary liked the soups served with warm bread rolls. The Taverna is non-smoking though again there is an outside area for smokers.
As long as you don't mind sitting away from the main pool area, there are loads of sunbeds on the grassy area overlooking the beach. There is no need to reserve sunbeds here as you can come down any time of the day and find plenty free. From here you can take a dip in the pool or the sea with equal ease.
There was entertainment around the pool all day (water aerobics, water polo, etc) and likewise in the evening. A few times we had live music, a greek night, a parrot show, karaoke and silly 'audience participation' games.
There are a few shops, restaurants and banks within yards of the hotel. For more nightlife, Protaras is a short bus / taxi drive away.
All the staff there work very hard, many of them are British. Must give a mention to our wonderful waitress from Newcastle who kept us entertained no end. Good luck in your new life Dawn!

Submitted By: Mrs C DentThe hotel was great for the price we paid. Although the hotel building was a bit big and overpowering to look at, the complex itself had many nice features.
The pool was great and big. Lots of space and a separate kid’s pool. The hotel is situated right on the beach which we enjoyed in the evening having a walk to watch the sunset.
The room was good but small. The 3rd bed was a crammed in but it wasn't too bad.
We stayed half board but didn't eat at the hotel much, but when we did it was OK but not exceptional.
There are so many restaurants and bars nearby to choose from and the prices are good. The hotel also offered water sports and entertainment stuff but we didn't use these facilities.

Submitted By: Miss K StanleyThe location was perfect for people of all age ranges! It was quiet enough to get a good night's sleep but within 10 minutes of fantastic nightlife and restaurants!
The resort offered plenty of activities for the whole family which were run by friendly helpful hotel staff! They even remembered us from 2 years before and left a bottle of wine and snacks in our room to thank us for our return!
I will definitely return here again!

Submitted By: Mr K WrightWe found that late October last year was too late in the season for all attractions to be fully open but this year we went three weeks earlier and it was in full swing. The weather was 'fantastic' too, sunny days and balmy nights.
The hotel provides excellent value for money, great location, very friendly and attentive staff and good but simple food. The hotel has its own beach area, two swimming pools, and a lovely taverna with al fresco dining facilities. There is a grassed area with sun loungers for those who don’t want to get sandy.
The (triple) rooms are large and comfortable and the daily maid service is superb.
The evening entertainment is varied but 'tame' comprising mainly of shows put on by the animation team but we did see a fabulous magician and fascinating parrot show by outside professionals.
Pernera is a small resort in itself with shops, very good restaurants, and pubs for all tastes. Sports pubs, tavernas, Italian and Chinese restaurants and plenty of 'tribute' acts.
The larger resort of Protaras is a short taxi or bus ride away or a very pleasant stroll (15mins) along the coast. A recommended stop on this walk is Safiros kiosk on the beach. The most excellent bacon on toast you can get anywhere.
Protaras is bigger and brasher but again something for everyone. We can recommend the Magic Dancing Water Show as a spectacular experience, don’t sit too near the front if you don’t want to get a bit damp!
Will definitely visit again and definitely stay at Pernera Beach Hotel.

Submitted By: Mr T GreenwayWe had a wonderful stay at the Pernera Beach Hotel. The Hotel is in a wonderful location, right next to the beach which is full of different types of water activities. Our hotel rooms were great and kept clean and tidy and were air conditioned which was very much needed for this time of year.
The staff were lovely they all were very friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble. The food was lovely with plenty of choice.
The wedding reception was held in the Taverna of the hotel they decorated it beautifully and the food and waiter service for the reception was brilliant.
All in all we had a fantastic time and are looking already into going back to Pernera next year.
