Don't believe all the bad reviews.
This was a lovely hotel the staff were very friendly.
The food was beautiful we never had one complaint and never had a upset stomach, we always tend to go all inclusive but eat out a few nights for a change of scenary we didn't have to here because the food was that nice.
The entertainment was ok there was a ABBA tribute band, a magician, fire eating man, karaoke and loads more what do people expect they are not going to a west end show.
The rooms were basic but who spends their holiday in the room you only sleep in it and it was big enough for the three of us.
If I had to say a down side to the hotel it would be to make it all inclusive so when you make friends and they are only half board it can be a bit embarrassing seeing them pay for their drinks which are pretty expensive.
All in all a lovely holiday.

We booked this as a 4* holiday with Thomson. On arrival the staff were rude and un-welcoming. Our room was basic, run down and in desperate need of redecoration. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, and elements of our room were dirty and dusty. You were lucky to get a sun-lounger by the pool. The pool area was noisy and many people taking advantage of the all inclusive deal (free alcohol). Night tim entertainment is awful and there was nothing Greek about it. The resort is noisy at night and can be heard in your hotel room. The food was un-edible and we had to eat out on a regular basis as we got tummy upsets. Staff and hotel in general is rude and un-helful. The hotel is listed as 4* and this certainly IS NOT a 4* hotel. I would suggest this was a 2* maybe 3* hotel but definatly no more.
- Advice: get away from the hotel and resort and go to the beaches and paphos itself.

My family have just returned from this hotel. The first time my husband and I have done a family holiday and the first time my children have done a fully inclusive holiday. The hotel was nice and always clean. The rooms were basic but cleaned every day. Food was good and plenty to choose from. Evening entertainment was the same as I have seen in many hotels and if you don’t like that the “Strip” just outside the gates (far enough away for people that like an early night) has a variety of restaurants, Tavernier’s, wine bars, karaoke and not forgetting “The real Elvis”. The bar for fully inclusive was the same as most hotels I have stayed in, therefore only the local wines, beers and spirits were included. However there were a few down sides. I would not describe it as a small child friendly hotel as there were many steep stairs that a child could easily fall down if you was not with them every single second (in fact a few adults had a tumble). Also it is the only fully inclusive hotel I have ever stayed in where you had to pay way over the local price for water!!! In fact between the hours of 12 midnight and 7am you could not even get it by paying for it!! That’s right you can drink wine and spirits till it comes out of your ears but NOT water. Also no tea and coffee facilities in your room unless you pay extra and at 3.50 euro’s a day I would recommend you take your own travel kettle and purchase your tea/coffee, milk and water at the local shop. Also you have pay extra for the fridge, which is actually on but locked with a key. This is my sixth year in Cyprus (coral bay) and I will be going back but NOT to this hotel I am sorry to say
- Advice: take your own travel kettle and buy your water at the local shops.

Just returned from our 3rd visit to this hotel, as usual a great time, lots of the staff still there, and always smiling and chatty. Unfortunately Cayleigh and Klara the animators, are moving on later this year, they were great fun and the evening entertainment was better than last visits, anyone who could find anything to complain about would be hard pushed or extremely fussy. Food was buffet style but always a very good selection and good quality - definitely recommmend this hotel and will return again - make sure you go all inclusive as drinks due to the euro rate are expensive,
- Advice: dont listen to any bad reports

Just got back from a 2 week holiday at crown resort coral bay..We were a large party of 14 attending a family wedding in pahos bay,,We went all inclusive (which is a must as the drink prices are sky high) But if you leave the hotel there are plenty of bars just outside with pretty low priced drinks,,Right back to the hotel its a very clean place with plenty of staff to see to all your needs,The food was brill but after the first week became a bit boring so we all decided to eat out alot on the last week,The 2 girls behind the bar are lovely to specialy manula she was really good with all of our kids,The only downside i could find with the hotel was the beds were very hard felt like i had broken my ribs every morning lol,,,The hotel enetertained was really hit and miss but the 2 entertaiment girls was really friendly and again great with the kids,,,The holiday overal was fab 9/10 would recommend to anyone a great place,,PS And for those in the above comments if you dont like screaming kids book an adult only resort SIMPLE...

Just returned from a two week holiday at crown resorts horizon with my wife.we were on a half board basis and had we realised that this was a thomas cook all inclusive hotel we would not have booked this hotel. The hotel is pleasant enough but was truely spoilt by a large number of the all inclusive clientel, who were only happy in ther large gangs around the pool and bars, once they had finished their drinks they found it impossible to place their (plastic)glasses in the numerous bins provided instead just dropped them on the floor or into the pool!there behaviour was distgusting and sadly all were british.if you like lots of uncontrolled kids and tatooed larger drinking louts then this is the place for you!
the rooms were basic standard, the beds were hard and the bedding had seen better days, the maids did there best each day.
oh forgot to mention the rats(vermin)in the hotel gardens.
we saw two and there were more, the hotel were aware, but were not unduly concerned.
coral bay is described as having the best beach in cyprus, forget it there are many more unspoilt beaches in cyprus.
many people we spoke to were pushed towards this hotel by their travel agents, the hotel in paphos are much better,do not be sued.
this hotel is not a 4 star,barely a 3,give it a wide bearth!!

My partner and I have just returned from staying at Crown Resort Hotel (week beginning 10th July). We paid alot of money for this holiday and went all inclusive, we were very disappionted.
Most staff are unfriendly, rude and abrupt. The food menu looks impressive but we soon found that every night they offer the same things, not much variety and food was poor quality. The entertainment was embarrassing. The hotel itself was clean however there were blood stains on my bed sheets;- disgusting! The room was run down with worn out furniture, grubby walls and an uncomfortable hard bed with a broken hair dryer and safe.
The location was good, next to resturants and bars and the bus to Phaphos ran every 20mins for 1euro each. Short walk to Coral Bay Beach. Coral Bay Beach was dirty with litter everywhere and crowded, however 10 minutes up the road behind some hotels is another beach which is quieter, always spare sunbeds (they do charge for these) the beach is clean with lovely warm clear water. I would recommend anyone to rent a car to get around the island, we made the mistake of not doing this and went on excursions instead, these were bad value for money with terrible tour guides and spending upto 7 hours on a stuffy coach with what should've been a 4hour journey there and back.
Would not recommend staying at this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel during March for 3 weeks 2 weeks halfboard and we upgraded to halfboard for the 3rd week but were embarrassed when in the restaurant were told we only had B&B. The tour operater did not confirm this with them when we upgraded. The hotel to us is not a 4*. We were over the kitchen area and the noise from the staff and the generator kept us awake at nights until we got a little used to it. Where the hotel is its very boring, and we have to pay 12 euros every time to get into Paphos to find something to do. The beach, well our beach wear did not get wet once in the 3 weeks, we could not go into that, very unkept and the water was not really inviting. The room was very spacious but the beds were very hard and we had two single put together, the sheets were too small and for the last 2 weeks I had a small bedcover turned cross ways over my bed. When it got very hot especially at nights they would not put the air con on not until May, open the patio door they said. Entertainment, well very poor and ancient, bingo every night and birds performing, well I never.
The food was very repetitive and bland, the same variety displayed daily/weekly, hot foods were not hot at all and therefore very unappetizing. The meats were tough and tasteless. It is the first holiday we have been on and found the food so boring and served with no care. Usually it seems leftovers are put together and nothing was wasted. The drinks at the bar was beyond a joke. one double and one single spirit cost my husband 18 euros, 2.50 euros for a soft drink. We went with Mercury Direct, the holiday seemed a good deal at the time but we think it was just so to get the hotel filled that time of year and gave us below standard food. At dinner if we did not order wine they looked at us as if we were mean, not so, the wine was very poor quality so we only bought on a few evenings. They were even reluctant to give you a glass of water, at least we got ice in ours. We both became ill on the 3 week of our holiday and no one not even the tour operator was of any use to us. Well the receptionists were best, they called the doctor of a private hospital and then an ambulance. (Warning, never travel without insurance) The manager of the hotel did not even speak to us to find out how we were considering my husbanded ended up in hospital for 3 days. Puts us off going back to Cyprus.

The hotel name should be changed to Crown Horizon because their is no resort. A single street consisting of a few shops, restaurants and pubs with a big hotel plonked on the end of it. Once away from the main strip, you are surrounded by overgrown waste land, rubbish strewn bushes and unfinished buildings, some appearing abandoned. The beach area falls way short of living up to it's rather attractive sounding name. Rubbish everywhere, dirty beach with dangerous metal spikes sticking out of the sand. Beach cafe closed and completely overgrown with weeds. The road down to the beach car park has in parts been washed away with huge ruts and potholes in the middle of the road. If you want to walk anywhere away from the main drag there are no footpaths. Turning to the hotel, GOOD points are the large grounds, the pools, indoor and outdoor, the food was good and varied, rooms are spacious, good gymnasium and spa facilities. BAD points are: sold as hotel with air conditioned rooms but even though room temerature creeps above 25 degrees at night, they refuse to make the air conditioning available until the summer months. Unless you are all inclusive, the price of drinks is ridiculous, 18 euros for 3 drinks. The entertainment is low standard and rather repetitive with bingo being the main attraction. Internet limited to 2 machines one of which was broken all week despite being reported. Also no package available just 1 euro for 10 minutes. Worst Maitre D' ever come across. Ruthlessly efficient at his job to the point that restaurant staff afraid to engage in conversation with guests and quickly pulled away if they do. Towels and bedding are low quality and the sheets are far too small for the kingsize beds. Bathroom extractor reported 4 times not working and never was fixed. Some of the outside facilities are tired or in poor condition, especially the artificial bowling green and a large percentage of the sunbeds are broken. If you are visiting this part of the island I strongly advise you to hire a car or get a hotel in Paphos as this will save you the daily bus trip to Paphos in search of something to do.

The hotel was fantastic have just got back last night and am already deciding when I will be going back, as soon as possible I hope! The animators were so friendly and worked so hard, they went beyond the needs of their jobs to help people, the staff overall were all fantastic and happy to help. The bar staff were friendly and by the end of the week knew the people in the hotel on a personal level as did the waiters, receptionists and again, the animators. Everything about this hotel was perfect, if you want a night out after the entertainment the blazing saddle opposite is friendly but like everywhere in Cyprus the drinks are not cheap but they are worth it. The pool outside is cold but the hot indoor pool, jacuzzi and steam rooms indoors make up for that and anyway an outdoor pool is meant to be cold. A great holiday and I will be returning this year.

My husband and i spent a week at this hotel on half board basis,i never usually believe these review sites as everyones tastes are different, well the reviews for this hotel are not incorrect;FOOD;Bland not much variation, don't expect to relax when eating as the staff hover over you to collect plates and cutlery,we visit cyprus twice a year always on half board basis, this is the worst!!!!
We never use the bar facilities as we find you gain more knowledge about the area from the locals in the bars, for the best hospitality you need to go over the road to BLAZING SADDLES,up the road to KIKKOS BAR and MILLENIUM BAR.The worst thing about this holiday was that we read that Coral bay had the best beaches, well, what we found was horrendous,we walked down to the beach and the first thing we encountered was the corpse of a dead dog, further on were hyperdermic needles, the whole beach looked like a landfill site, spoke to a local who stated that at the end of March they dig it up as best as they can and just put fresh sand on, not a good all year round beach!!! we will be returning to cyprus but not to this hotel or area, there are better.

Went to this hotel in september 2011. Cannot fault the staff as they were very helpful & pleasant. Always time for a chat. Food was very good and plenty of it but week 1 was like week 2. Our room was spacious, with tv mini fridge and safety deposit box at a charge. Cleaned every day and clean towels too. Beach towels for hire. Evening entertainment was ok, bingo for 15 minutes and then a show. The ABBA tribute band was 2 girls, not lookalikes or sound alikes, don't know why they bothered. I have walking difficulties but there were ramps as well as steps to go outside, and 3 lifts. The downside was the pool is too small to cater for a full hotel and the only beds with umbrellas were by the pool. Appart from that, there are extensive gardens and plenty of shade and beds if required. We were in the shade for 2 weeks because the temperature was between 37 and 40 all the time. Away from the hotel the main street had plenty of eating and drinking places and the usual tourist shops. The local buses run very frequenly and a 2 euro ticket could be used all day and evening and took you to Paphos bus station where you could transfer to other services using the same ticket.
One big dissapointment was the beach. It was further than the 300 metres stated but was also down a steep hill. Once there the beds and brollies and jammed next to each other and for 7.50 euros a day, not worth it. Going down was a bit steep for me and coming back up meant we never went there after the first trip. The biggest tip I can give you is to go all inclusive. People we met there on half board or B&B were spending lots of money on things like drinks and food. In the hotel 2 coffees were 6.50euros each and a beer and shandy was 7.50euros. I think they are working on the fact that one pound used to equall about 1.50euros but now they are almost the same so stuff is very expensive. We saved loads of money by being all inclusive. The night flight back to East Midlands was terrible.
