" We arrived at the Michelangelo... "

We arrived at the Michelangelo Village at about 2am and ushered to the apartment at a rate of speed by what could only be said as the night porter.

On entering the two beds apartment there was very little room to swing a cat. We decided it would look better in the morning, but it didn’t. Single beds very hard, pillows like to slabs of rock.

Kitchen two electric rings and a toaster and electric kettle. The bathroom consisted of a shower with a blocked plug hole and the water fills the shower tray and over flows onto the floor and down the floor drain, but makes the floor wet and slippery.

The towels are clean but very thin and rough on the skin. Our apartment over looked the pool area very nice till the punters arrive at the pool at about 8am and start screaming all day till about 7pm.

The bar area very clean and tidy the staff in the village very kind and speak very good English. Entertainment 3 times a week very good, try the Greek night.

The walk to the village takes about 10minutes down and about 20 minutes back up the hill, keep on the right hand side till you come to the fork in the road and then go left fork, follow the road take the first right about 100yds, there is a cut to the beach all pebbles but there is a small bar and beds to hire at 2euros a day.

After a day on the beach walk back through the village plenty of bars which all sell good food.

In general Kassiopi is very nice but the next time I would find an apartment in the village, the walk back and forth is too much.

" Apartments fair, clean but basic... "

Apartments fair, clean but basic kitchen facilities and very poor lighting. Complex pleasant but spent a lot of time by pool in Solaris apartments which had better facilities and nicer pools. Very angry that despite only being a couple in a one bedroom apartment (which cost fortune in supplements, that on top of that we had to pay for air conditioning for both rooms which cost nearly £100. Jenny who works in the supermarket in Michelangelo is a delight! Arrow travel cheapest for trips if not the most posh (be prepared for old minibus with door handles missing!) Trip to Albania highly recommended. Had the best pork chop ever in three brothers on Harbour, but only served with chips which were a bit disappointing. Went to Janis food okay but not brilliant. Wasps were a nuisance and got bitten to death despite using repellent. Safety deposit box cost 20 euros for two weeks.

" We stayed here for the first time... "

We stayed here for the first time this yr. We booked a couple of weeks before going on an allocation on arrival basis. Well did we drop lucky or what! Absolutely brilliant time. The room was fine nice and clean. (Bed was a bit noisy if you know what I mean he, he, he)

The only down side was those mozzies worse than ever this year.

10min walk down to Kassiopi where there are loads of bars/restaurants all offering excellent food/drink etc. A visit that everyone should make is to Don’s bar. A1 bar very friendly staff open till very late or even late morning. We met so many nice people there and made some new friends. Especially Spen from Denmark, a fireman on walking sticks.

One bar that was very strange is the Shangri La bar (weird). Always seemed to be closed! But offered food and late night drinking.

Wouldn’t recommend the boat trip to Corfu town on the galleon ship.

" Apartments situated about a 10 min... "

Apartments situated about a 10 min walk from the town centre, ideal for those that do not want to be situated in the hustle and bustle of the centre.

Not ideal however for those that struggle to walk in the heat as the walk is up a slight incline and the apartments themselves are situated on a hill. Kassiopi itself is a wonderful little fishing village with superb views from most restaurants overlooking the harbour. The town itself does compromise of restaurants for all tastes, a couple of shingle beaches, a number of which have water sports.

The hotel amenities really are second to non in Kassiopi, with 3 swimming pools, tennis courts, table tennis, poolside bar, restaurant, supermarket, gym, sauna- you name it- it's got it. Superb value for money, if you don't like walking that is!!

" This was the 4th time my wife and i... "

This was the 4th time my wife and i had been to the Michelangelo because we simply love it here the only mistake we made last year was staying on the Olympic side of the complex, we wont make that mistake again they just are not up to the same standards as Thomson ,who we have already booked up with for aug06. We love Michelangelo because its so peaceful and your only a short stroll away from the main village.

The restaurant at Michelangelo is great for both traditional Greek food, and also a good British menu too. The restaurants and bars in the town are also very good with a wide variety to choose from, Chinese, Italian, etc our favourite was poco loco the Mexican very, very nice.

Its very much a family resort plenty of nightlife but you can always find somewhere quiet to. There are loads of really great excursions to choose from here, like Theo’s boat trip a must for a great day of fun bbq swimming and maybe a little ouzo!!

Or from Kassiopi harbour the sandy beach trip where its shallow quite away out making the water feel warmer than it already is, or you could go to Corfu town for a days shopping where there’s a choice of designer shops along with the more traditional gift shops.

One word of advice we always go to Corfu town by boat which can be booked up in town its much more refreshing than being stuck on a coach have fun in Kassiopi see u in aug06 Mr & Mrs green.

" I have been going to the Michelangelo... "

I have been going to the Michelangelo village for the past fours years with my children and we love it the people are friendly the staff are wonderful it is clean well organised and most of all it is safe and secure enough to allow your children to be them selves and let them enjoy the holiday atmosphere and the surroundings.

We all enjoy it so much that my eldest daughter went out there for 10 weeks after finishing her first year at university, it is a place that teenagers are not rowdy you have good well mannered youngsters who appreciate the local culture and their ways.

My daughters truly enjoy everything about Kassiopi and the village and we look forward to going there with not only my children but also i recommend it to every one!!

" My wife and I spent another two weeks... "

My wife and I spent another two weeks in Kassiopi, at the Michelangelo Village, and had a thoroughly wonderful time, as usual.

This was our 6th time at this resort, and everything was to the usual high standard. The only let down was that we were put in one the Olympic apartments which are not as high a standard as the Thomson apartments. Emilio and Vasilis were very good hosts as usual, and the bonus was that we didn’t have to rent the sunbeds this time.

If you go to Kassiopi then avoid Taverna Strofilia, it's the worst taverna in the village. Some of the best are Poco Loco, Taverna Istoni, La Luna and particularly Taverna Dragos. Dragos is mainly for the locals but it serves simple Corfiot cuisine done extremely well. They do a fantastic T-bone steak !

Have fun in Kassiopi.
" I went to Michelangelo village in the... "

I went to Michelangelo village in the last 2 weeks of July. It was the 2nd time I had visited this complex. It was extremely hot and the complex was very clean. All the staff are extremely friendly especially the bar staff.

There is lots of facilities available gym, sauna, tennis courts, pool table, children’s playground, 3swimming pools and lots more! One night me and my friends were walking back to our apartments at 4.30am and the owner of the bar was on his way hoe and offered to take us back to our apartment! We couldn’t refuse but offered him money but he wouldn’t accept anything off us not even a drink! Our apartment was cleaned every day except Sundays. We stayed on the side behind the supermarket (Thomson side).

As stated in previous post the Olympic rooms are extremely basic and inferior to the Thomson rooms. But even thought we never went with Olympic their rep Karen was very friendly! She wanted us to get up n the karaoke for the whole 2 weeks we were there and we said we would only if she did! So she got up and sang but we never kept to our side of the deal!!! OPPPPPS! LOL. But we felt bad about making her sing (honest!) So on our last night we made up for it and sang not only once but 3 times! (We were sober and never emptied out the bar honest).

The Thomson’s rep Stephanie was just as nice and helpful. One of my friends lost her passport and she done everything possible to help us sort out the problem.

The beach is a bit pebbly but the sea is really nice. You have a great view of Albania! If you are going to the beach walk past the supermarket on the complex and carry on going. When you see the 1st sign for the beach turn left and go through the trees (Its well worth it and much easier to get to in the heat of the day!) It’s about a 10 min walk. But if you keep walking and following everyone else you have about a walk of 35 min’s and that beach is crowded. It’s really tiring to walk back from this one after a hard day at the beach! LOL.

The Greek night on the complex is well worth going to as you have a lot of fun. There is supermarket is on the complex and there is another just as your turn into the complex. Kassiopi centre is 10-minute walks were you will find a good selection of restaurants, bars, clubs and shops. I recommend the Poco Loco Mexican restaurant, Visions bar (club at the back opens at 12.30) and they do great cocktails, Harbour bar, and the illusions bar oh yea and if you like karaoke Jasmines! We liked watching others making a fool of them selves! LOL.

If you are young Passions bar is excellent the foam party is really good 5euros entrance and you get a free drink or some nights it 15 euros and all drinks are included! But watch your shoes! We took ours off and couldn’t find them again! You get absolutely soaked. If you like beaches book to go to the sandy beach. 5 euros each from 'cosmic travel'. The beaches really nice and the lifeguard isn’t too bad either!! The owner of the boat is really friendly and we got a free drink of ouzo off him!

The aqua park is excellent and the new wave pool is good to! I recommend the pirates adventure! For little kids I know but we couldn’t resist! I would recommend these apartments to anyone! They are really clean and all the staff are really friendly and make you feel extremely welcome! But the only advice I would give you is that if you want a modern room with good view book with Thomson! Going back next year! Can’t wait!
