We stayed at the Adonis apartments...

We stayed at the Adonis apartments last September, we arrived about 1am, left our cases, and went to explore.
We found a delightful taverna on the beach called Thomas's Place and we really thought we had found paradise. We sat at our table on the pebble beach with a glass of brandy; the guys were playing a guitar and singing Greek music.
The moon was shining over the sea, it was amazing. There’s not much to do here so if its peace and quiet your after then it’s the place to be.
Apartments have entertainment on in the bar, but to be honest we didn't really want this, as peace and quiet is what we like, (not karaoke music). However we are going back again soon. Cannot wait.
If your noisy, rowdy people then please stay away!!

Just arrived back from Kalami. We had read reviews about this place over the last 2 years so decided to go there ourselves.
The place is fantastic. Brilliant views, relaxing place, hardly any cars, no noise or rowdiness. Ideal if you really want a relaxing break. 3 tavernas on the beach, all lovely, and our favourite was the White House.
The beach was pebbly, the sea was warm! The weather was very hot and the downside to the apartments was that there is no air conditioning. It was difficult to sleep and having to leave the balcony door open we were prone to mosquito bites!
Went to Agni bay on the boat to Nikolas taverna that is worth a visit! We also went on a boat trip to Corfu Town one evening for a change. Went to Kassiopi in a taxi one day which cost 14 Euros each way, we couldn't face waiting for the local bus.
The airport journey home was terrible. Have been to Corfu twice before and I can honestly say that the airport system is getting worse. You had to queue before you could queue to check in! Then you had to go back outside to queue for passport control.
There was one man checking the passports for ALL FLIGHTS! - took approx 2 and a half hours for this! Not funny in the heat... Love Corfu, love Kalami but the airport has put us off returning again for a while...

Having been to Kalami for the past 13...

Having been to Kalami for the past 13 years, a total of 15 to 20 times I feel this place is the most relaxing holiday resort this side of the Atlantic.
Kalami is like a second home to me and now my husband’s a big fan of the place too.
Since the children have come along we feel there isn't a better and safer place than Kalami for a perfect family holiday. The locals are the most honest and kindest people you will ever meet and will do anything for you no matter what.
The Adonis apartments are basic but very clean having maid service 6 times a week. No matter where you stay in the apartment block you will have a brilliant view of the bay, but the higher up you are the better.
The lifts mean there isn't much walking and being on the top block with a pushchair isn't that bad at all.
The food is out of this world, and in all the years I have been to Kalami I have never had the runs (I think you know what I mean). Best meal to try is Spiros chicken curry at Cocktail & Dreams.
Anyway enough said apart from why not try it for yourself, I promise you, you will not be disappointed, and infact I and my family are going back in September 07.

My husband and I have just returned from a fantastic week. We both fell in love with the resort within hours of arrival and can't wait to return.
I have bored my colleagues with constantly talking about the holiday.
The accommodation was spacious and clean, although air conditioning would have been nice given that we were there in a heat wave. Borrowed a fan which was a great help.
Fabulous views from our balcony.
The staff were friendly, relaxed, welcoming and nothing was too much bother.
Loved the Beach Taverna, food fantastic.
I would recommend anyone to go to this accommodation and resort.

As all the other reviews have said, if you want a nice quiet peaceful holiday in great surroundings this is for you.
The locals are friendly they don't take you for granted, the accommodation is basic but always clean, can be a bit echoey, can go on forever you need to go for yourselves, if you like it quiet you will love this place. Bravo Adonis.
Only negative on this holiday six and a half delay with Thomson on flight home.

3 adults and 2 teenagers all...

3 adults and 2 teenagers all thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of Kalami. We were on floor 6 of apartments but thanks to the lift did not find walk too onerous. Indeed, being away from bar meant we were quiet, had easy access to road for bus/hire car.
Studios were simple, spotless and the view from the balcony was second to none. Hired a fan to keep cool which worked well- aircon availability would have earned studios a 10.
Receptionist was a fount of knowledge and we used travel agent by side of supermarket for excursions and car hire - cheaper than Thompson and good quality.
Do hire a boat - great way to get around.
Used all the tavernas in locality (including Agni and Kalloura). Did not get a disappointing meal in any, although Kalloura was a bit pricier.
Went to Albania - long day. I loved it through observing society and development. Claire didn't - disappointed with historical site.
To summarise - fabulous holiday, fabulous location, great apartments - don't tell too many people as we want to keep Kalami relaxed and small.

After reading quite a few good...

Jul 2006, Mrs J Marshall

After reading quite a few good reviews before going on holiday, we had to agree! We were surprised and disappointed not to have a rep on the transfer bus, and were a bit confused whether we were at the right apartments. However we saw the funny side of it when we were ushered into a tiny van complete with a few other guests and all the luggage to take us to check in!
The apartments were basic, but very clean and well equipped. The hot water pipes were under the tiles so unfortunately acted as under floor heating, which we could have done without.
We were fortunately on the last floor accessible via the lift, and a stones throw from the top level pool and bar. No problems with sun beds and very peaceful with fantastic views. Not suitable for the aged or infirm as there was a very steep bank and lots of steps for the remaining two floors.
The views were amazing and although a very small resort we had a brilliant holiday. Kassiopi is a taxi ride away and well worth a visit where there are a lot more bars and restaurants.
Water taxis are on hand in Kalami to take you to two restaurants in the next cove, but it was a nice walk and didn’t take too long. We took the opportunity and hired a motor boat which was well worth the experience. A word of warning, take notice when you are being instructed on the use of the anchor! We spent a hilarious hour trying to free the anchor from some rocks in Kassiopi, just for the males in the party not to lose face and admit to the rental firm that they had made a mistake.
The hotel bar had entertainment most nights Karaoke quiz etc which helps if you don’t like each others company but the restaurant on the beach is a perfect venue to watch the sun go down over a bottle, or two. of local wine
The weather was brilliant but chilly some evenings which we found very welcome. All in all a great week in beautiful surroundings, what more could you wish for.

Absolutely fantastic. My wife took me here for my 60th birthday as a surprise and I've got to say it was really relaxing with beautiful scenery and a tranquil location. It was perfect, so nice in fact we are coming back with my family next year for 2 weeks. I recommend this place to people from all walks of life.
The island of Corfu is well worth a look around. It has some of the most lovely scenery and quaint little coves and blue waters. Kalami has nice little bars to drink and dine and watch the sun go down. Any way don't take my word for it, come to Kalami to see for yourself. A1 place to stay.

Nine out of ten (nothings perfect)...

May 2006, Mr P Woodruff

Nine out of ten (nothings perfect) but I would have given 9+.
Third visit for us to the A&A, twice last year, and going back for a fourth in September. Its that good. Location is superb the place is so peaceful and the people so friendly you should try it. Never mind Diazepam this is the real Mcoy. Dine at Thomas’s Taverna or the Agni taverna round the bay (he will pick you up on the boat0 watch the moon over the Ionian, delight in the food, its superb, and sip the wine, you'd better believe it, you cant better it.
The A&A Apartments are well placed and well run, the view from your room well delight. The lads and lassies who run it are brilliant, Billy serves a great breakfast, Stavros and Stamatos in the bar and Spiro does everything as does Joanna. It’s a great place give it a go if you like holidays that refresh.
Although I must agree Corfu Airport is a nightmare, go on a Tuesday if you can. But don’t tell everyone, keep the whole thing a secret, just us.

This was our first visit to Corfu and we stayed at the Adonis/Asonitis Apartments at Kalami Bay. Being in our 50s my husband and myself thought perhaps this resort would be full of youngsters but we were wrong.
There were families, young people, couples, friends and, of course, the young at heart! Corfu airport is a bit of a nightmare and the return journey even worse, with everybody queuing outside the terminal until being called for their flights home, they must really sort this out because it's no joke in the heat of the day.
The apartments themselves are very clean, we had a small cooker with two rings and a kettle and sandwich toaster were provided. These apartments are situated on a hillside so if you have difficulty walking then they are certainly not for you.
Each block is on a different level, but there is a lift to the 4th floor, therefore, if you are on the 6th floor you have to walk up lots of steps once you get out of the lift. It is better if you can get an apartment lower down if given a choice (the first digit of of your apartment will be indicative of your floor i.e. 167 will be low down, whereas number 533 will be high up etc.)
There is a boat taxi to Agni Bay (Agni Taverna) and another to Nikolas Taverna (no charge provided you eat at the Taverna), we used to go every evening and eat at Nikolas Taverna, the food is lovely and the taverna is right on the beach. The Greek Night is a must with Nikolas doing a bit of Greek dancing himself, along with his young son. The beach at Kalami is stony so jelly shoes are recommended if you wish to swim.
There are lots of tavernas along the beach front at Kalami Bay also, which are very nice.
A trip to Corfu town is a must, again there are boat trips by day and night.

Having been here three times before...

Jun 2004, Mr C C Wilson

Having been here three times before we new exactly what we would find.
A warm welcome by all the staff from cleaners to the " boss". Cool apartment with a fantastic view over Kalami bay. A great selection of tavernas with mouth-watering Greek food.
You are always made welcome no matter where you go from the complex bar, who by the way, serve the best eggs & chips on the planet.
The pebble beach is uncluttered even at " high noon" and all the usual toys are there.
If you want more action you can hire a car or a boat to see more of the countryside. We preferred to get the local bus from the main road , which is two minutes up the hill.
You can then go to Corfu town 12 hour or Kassiopi 10minutes.
Where you have it all.
