What can I say if your thinking of going to this hotel keep your money and buy a caravan
this hotel if you can call it a hotel is 100% spanish nothing for kids meals music is all 100%spanish and when the spanish are not in the hotel you get nothing they put nothing on for the rest very poor should be called Gala B&B

I wouldn't even give this hotel a rating! Whatever you do, stay away from it!! 16 of us stayed here for a hen holiday, and on the first night two of our rooms got broken in to, no forced entry which suggests it was someone with a key, even more so as the money went missing... more

i have read some of the bad reports about the gala placidia and must say i found none of them to be true . i stayed for a week with my sister in may 2003 and we had an excellent time. the buffet restaurant had a good selection and the staff were very attentive. our room was clean and of an average size with good maid service. the entertainment was guered towards the spanish guests, but the bar staff were friendly,we stayed for the happy hour which lasts till 9-30pm with great prices and then went into the main streets to sample as much... more

I too read some of the reviews on this site and we were a bit unsure of what to expect, especially as we arrived in Benidorm around 5.30 AM and the town was still buzzing. In the end we had a brilliant holiday and found the hotel to be just what we wanted. Last year we went to a 4 star hotel and found the food to be terrible! We really enjoyed the food this time and the diet starts today! OK the hotel was not too flash, but it was in a good position, clean, friendly and what more can you ask. Just returned from a fantastic holiday on the Costa Blanca. Gala Placidia is a pleasant hotel set about 5 minutes walk from the sea front and the heart of Benidorm. The highly recomended Aqualandia water park is only 15 minutes walk from the hotel. The rooms are small but well equiped. The rooms are well kept and are always tidy thanks to the daily maid service. After several hours in this hotel we realised we'd made a bad mistake booking this hotel. The first thing we noticed was the pool was in shade, the rooms were very small and very basic. On the first night at dinner, we were astonished to find how quickly the plates were removed, sometimes when you'd just taken your last bite and the fork was halfway down to the plate, it was whipped away by a sad-faced waiter. I stayed at the Gala Placida in Sepember, and can say that in my opinion has more minuses than pluses. Most of the staff were pretty good, Bar and Reception. The staff in the dining room never smiled and you felt you wete imposing. There were no snacks available at the bar, each time you asked for something ithere was nothing available, even though there was a menu on the bar. This is my last day at the gala placidia and i have enjoyed the holiday.The room is very clean with fresh towels daily, there are TV´s in the room and there is 2 internet computers at 3 euro´s per hour but you can pay for 4 min for 20 cent.There is a large selection of foods and is all self serve, the waiters are very quick to move away finished plates and you can keep going back for more.The shops and clubs at right outside your hotel
