We came back from Pella Beach on 29 September. The weather for our two weeks was abysmal so we spent quite a bit of time in the hotel whilst the rain poured outside along with thunder and lightening some evenings too. It was also cold so leaving all the doors wide open was... more

What a brilliant setting! All rooms have side seaview. Hotel has large gardens with lots of sunbeds backing on to its own section of beach. Could get sunbed whenever you got up. Good news for me. Supermarket and bar at hotel entrance and resort centre close by. But just far... more

The hotel and the surrounding gardens were fabulous. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The buffet restaurant was very good, but sometimes the choice of food in the evening didn't really cater for the English guests. The pools were great and so was the beach, the only... more

This is a friendly hotel with some nice touches - fridges in rooms, fruit on arrival, drying line on balcony, beach towels, and free sunbeds on beach. Some parts of the hotel need some updating, but the gardens are lovely. The rooms are basic and need updating but clean.... more

I stayed for two weeks at Grecotel Pella beach in the summer of 2005. It was a wonderful holiday with an idyllic setting. The bars in the local village provided us with a good nightlife every night, always with different things happening! The hotel itself was very... more

This is the second time we have been to the Grecotel Pella Beach ... a week later than last year. We came back because the hotel was near perfect. The staff were extremely helpful, pleasant and sociable. The food I thought was excellent with different theme nights, but on... more

It was fabulous accommodation, well prepared for families and very well catered for every persons taste, the beach was on the foot off your doorstep with every type off watersports available, the children’s clubs could have been better thought out but all the same it was... more

Lovely Hotel
This is a lovely hotel with very nice gardens and pool area. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the main "Square" where the bars and restaurants are. There is a very nice bar just outside the hotel gates called ammudes which is family run. George the barman is very entertaining. The prices are very reasonable and stays open as long as you like. The hotel food is very good with a great choice. If you would prefer to have lunch instead of evening meal you can get a voucher from reception and swap. A very good idea as there are lots of great restaurants around to try. The pool area is spacious with lots of lovely gardens to sit in. You have the beach just a few steps away. Beach/pool towels are supplied (Saves on the packing). There was never a shortage of sunbeds. Hotel entertainment was a bot dissapointing. Not much happening during the day and the evening time consisted of bingo etc. Not our sort of thing but if you like that its great. Overall we had a brillant ime and would deffinately recommend this hotel to couples and families.
a fantastic holiday :o) !!!!!!
We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Pella Beach, a delightful experience. The hotel is situated in a picturesque location surrounded by pretty gardens, overlooking the hotels own private stretch of beach. We arrived at the hotel late at night, however the staff were very welcoming and eager to offer assistance. The interior of the rooms and corridors are a little dated but pleasant and clean, though the views from the balcony made up for this. Breakfast and dinner are served in the hotels main resturant, the choice and quality of the food is most impressive, during our stay we encountered asian night, italian night and mediteranean night. There is a wide selection of salads, cold meats and pastas as well as a a large variety of hot foods, although it mostly varied night to night, the staples of the pella beach diet are spaghetti bolognese, an assortment of veg, mashed potato, chips, a vast selection of grilled meats, mini cheese pies, several types of hot pasta, fish choices, specialist veg dishes ( gratinated marrows and stuffed tomatoes for example), omelettes, local dishes ( such as greek moussaka ), soup etc. The chefs and waiting staff put in an extraordinary amount of effort into the service and presentation of the food. I would highly recommend this hotel for families with children, the entertainment staff are brilliant with them. My partner and I would sit in the pool during the afternoons laughing at them playing with the children in and around the pool. There are shows every night in the hotel taverna , each with a different theme. They usually run from 9.30 to elevenish, we would go there and walk the short distance into Hanioti afterwards. There is so much to keep both couples and families entertained, everybody we spoke to had a fantastic time.
Excellent Hotel
We really enjoyed our stay at the Grcotel pella beach, the location was excellent - right on the beach & only a 2 minute walk into the centre of Hanioti. The rooms were fine & we were greeted with a bottle of wine & basket of fruit upon arrival. The Food was very good with the option to have lunch in the beachside bar instead of having an evening meal, this was great as we could go out & sample meals in resort at night. The resort itself was very nice, lots of bars & restaurants. I would recommend Halkidiki & Hanioti for a relaxing holiday as there isn't a huge amount to do there.
much better than expected
stayed at the pella beach 4th-18th sept 2006 had a very pleasant stay., wine and fruit basket in room on arrival (wasn't expecting that) Rooms are very clean and comfortable maid every day, clean towels etc., beds a bit hard for me but ok. Pool towels provided which were changed whenever you asked so you really don't need to take any (saves on packing) Food excellent, so much choice and great quality and the staff are very friendly. The hotels location is great about 5 mins walk to where all the bars and tavernas are but not near enough to cause any noise, if you get fed up with all the hustle in the centre try Ammudes bar directly opposite the hotel entrance, george & nick make it a friendly place to while away the evening.
great older hotel
Older hotel which in some areas needed a little TLC. Nice pool area with two pools plenty of sunbeds but you needed to put towels out by eight to get a decent one with an umbrella. Sand on beach very coarse. Location was great ten minutes to main square with shops and bars even closer, but just far enough away. Staff all very plesent. Rooms all have sea veiw and fridge. Grounds very pretty. I have left the best till last the food was unbelivable. So much choice and all expertly prepaired. Have to admit we all came home a few pounds heavier.
Ok-ish hotel...
I booked this hotel with a friend for a week's holiday for my birthday. I was very disappointed with the hotel, on first glance it looks lovely and looks the part, but look a bit deeper and its in desperate need of a refurb...bedrooms look like they haven't been updated for 10yrs, beds uncomfortable, rooms very noisy, can hear everything your next door neighbour doesn right down to flicking off the light at night, can't say I had one good nights sleep. Food choice was good but food was very bland, everything looked and was over cooked with left over vegtables and fruit being used the day after in other style dishes. Reception were not very friendly, altho I would say waiting staff were great, very helpful. Pool area, in need of an update say no more. Beach, very busy and noisy. Location was fab. Stay again??? Nope!
Lovely Hotel
We enjoyed our stay at the Pella Beach. The rooms were clean and the pool area was spacious with plenty of sunbeds. We were half board and i can honestly say its the best hotel food weve ever come across for quality and variation. The staff were friendly and the kids club entertainers couldnt be faulted either.Although i had to "shoo" the pool attendant away from our sunbeds as, in passing, he kept giving my 12 year old daughter hints on what chess moves to use against me ! The hotel has its own private beach which has a wonderful view over to the middle of the three peninsulars. There are a small number of bars and shops nearby but the main town centre is only a leisurely 5-10 minute stroll away.Even this became a bit of a struggle though as often the food was that good at the hotel we were too stuffed to walk into town ! The puddings are simply too die for. Because we were there for the final fortnight of the season the hotel allowed us to use our room for an extra half day for no extra cost until our bus came to take us home. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel for families or couples looking for a comfortable, quality and relaxing hotel. We will definitely return someday.
So good we went back!!
Cant undestand the negative review. Rooms are fine (you only sleep in them!), pool is large and good sized children's pool. August is always going to be busy but we never waited at breakfast and always found good sunbed positions. We thought the food was wonderful and the service excellent. When we returned in May 2004, we were impressed so many staff were the same and many recognized us. Nearly everyone we spoke to had stayed there before. Agree the beach is not great but then Hanioti is not renowned for this aspect. Would certainly rate this a 4 star hotel and will be returning next year.
Grecotel Pella Beach
Just got home from a great two weeks at the grecotel pella beach. The food was magnificent, plenty of choice for everyone. The room was clean, tidy and very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and polite. Always there to help when you needed them. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. There are plenty of sunbeds for everyone and the pool is kept in great condition. The entertainment team are great, friendly and very funny. Various kids clubs are avaliable and to top it all the sun never stopped shining!! I would recommend this hotel to everyone, and would go back again!
crowded!
I stayed in this hotel twice.unfortunatelly it was not a good choice.gardens are practically absent since everything is built up!the rooms are small with small balconies ,there is no room service, the restaurant very small in comparison to the size of the hotel and breakfast is a bad experiance. You have to wait for a piece of bacon or an omelete at least 15 min. the pool is small and the beach even smaller.everywhere you look you see numerous plastic sunbeds.surprisingly is a 4star hotel while it shoud be 2stars superior or 3 star at the most.I would not recomend it
