The hotel from the outside is impressive and is in a good location being about a 20 minute walk along the sea front into town. The rooms were adequate and was cleaned every day, with fresh towels when required.
The food is never very hot and is very repetitive, anything left over from the day before appears in a salad the next day, if possible stick to the barbecue food and the pasta which is cooked in front of you. The puddings are very good. The all inclusive programme is very limited, microwave pizza and chips or toasted ham and cheese sandwiches.
The pool is very clean although a little cold and the beach is only a short walk away with loads of watersports on offer.
If you have already booked take enough money to eat out on several nights as you will soon tire of the luke warm food on offer.

This Hotel is fantastic. To have a holiday were you can relax, enjoy good food especially for diabetics and good wine, in a really lovely surrounding, sleep in comfortable beds in light and airy rooms with wonderful views.
Swim in clear waters from a small but well provided beach. Have friendly and attentive staff. Located in lush and very well maintained gardens, only 10-15 mins walk from Kardamena. You need to stay at the Sovereign Beach. Have been going for 5 years and will continue to do so. The Italian guests add to the class of this Hotel. Thank goodness for Kayt, Mr Notos and all the staff this place is heaven.

Four of us stayed at this hotel for eleven nights, the hotel was clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful, the only problem was that they only catered for the Italians, the entertainment was in Italian and the food was all oily and revolting to look at and tasted awful, pasta 24/7, we did have bacon now and again but it looked and tasted like Oliver hardys braces, laurel and hardy fans will know which film I’m on about.
I am a diabetic so I had to manage on what there was, when you arrive at reception the chap at the desk will tell you, I'm sorry we have a problem with the plumbing and your room is not available, tell him to get stuffed and insist on your room, they tried to put the four of us in a 2 bed apartment but we kicked up a stink, they give the best rooms to the Italians, our friends ended up in a bungalow and we had a 2 bed apartment.
Get a taxi to Kardamena (five euros) its a hell of a walk in the heat, do visit bar street its manic and if you like pool find the billiards bar, 3 tables and a nice pint, if you like a drink in the daytime you have to get one from the pool bar or downstairs in the snack bar, would i go back, no its to far out of Kardamena and the food was not of my liking.

As usual it is a fantastic place for a holiday. This Hotel is clean, friendly, efficient and in beautiful surroundings.
Rooms are very clean and maids totally efficient. Food is great so much of it and always something to please all tastes. Beach is peaceful and sea great. How could people complain? It is a mystery to us and we are discerning travellers!

Front desk man at 5.30am on our arrival was wonderful. Very clean hotel. food good, although I didn’t once have a runny yolk with the fried eggs.. they need changing more often as the heated tray cooks them.. wouldn’t do all inclusive for 2 weeks though, as I can imagine it gets a bit monotonous. As we were there out of season it was nice and quiet (which is why we went then!), so I couldn’t comment on the quality of service when busy.
The service of all staff while we were there was brilliant (although one guy on the front desk really didn’t want to be there.. he had light coloured hair and it was all he could do to actually look at you!!!, still he was only there a couple of times). The pool was very clean, if a little cold (but it is October!!!!). The beach was sandy but just in the sea it was shingly but OK.. and quite steep into the sea. A must is to hire a vehicle and get to Kos Town and the other side of the Island too, why go all that way to stay in the one place!
This hotel is just far enough from the main town if you don’t want to be bothered with it, but also a wonderful stroll of only 10-15 minutes if you do! We had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing holiday which is exactly what we wanted. I would go again, and would definitely recommend to anyone.

Just got back from our holiday to Kos. Were booked into the Akti Club but sent to Sovereign beach for two days complained and stay the hole of our holiday at the sovereign beach. Hotel was very clean and staff were mostly friendly. This resort is ideal for families as we were two young couples we didn’t benefit from the all inclusive side. Felt that drinks were watered down as never woke up with a sore head. Food was the same thing every night pasta, sauce, rice, something with pork, chickens liver and chips. We ended up eating in Kardamena allot with is nice but full of lads drinking. LOVED ANIMATION TEAM. Never been to a hotel that has entertainment during the day like a quiz and water polo. Great holiday for families but not for young people had cartoons on TV rather than football.

I would not recommend anyone to book with Sunstar Leisure. I was due to go on Holiday and arrived at Gatwick airport to be met by confusion.
We were advised by a Rep from Gatwick to wait two hours for further information. Two hours later we were advised our holiday was cancelled and all the other holiday makers who had booked with other companies had been advised before making their way to the airport.
The flight would have been with Alexandair; Sunstarleisure have not made any attempt to contact us to apologise despite having home tel No. Mobile and email address.
On contacting them we were advised we would get a full refund, which is no consolation to two young children who were expecting to go on holiday!

The good thing about this holiday, for my family was the location of the hotel, as kardemena is an up and coming lively resort, wth lots of party style nightlife, with good shops and watersports, which was great for me as a 17 year old. However it was far enough away that my parents could enjoy a quiet relaxed evening, and couldn't hear any thing of the town. It was a 4 euro taxi fare away, or a 20 minute walk.
The hotel itself was lovely, the staff were great and treated us very nicely, and our rooms were exceptional as we had three apartments, however from what i saw of the other rooms, they were fairly small, and average.
The entertainment was fairly decent, the higlight being the sword eating guy, because I had to stand on him on a bed of nails.
One thing i would have liked to know was that all inclusive drinks ended at 11 o clock. (this isn't so much of a problem if you chat up the manager or the bar men by the way, they tended to give you free drinks then anyway) But it was a bit of a pain for parents, as entertainment finished 10 30, then there was a mad rush at the bars.
A slight warning, when you go, no matter what age you WILL come away knowing teh cha-cha slide, and several other dances like the back of your hand!!
The entertainment staff were execllent, and did a lot for children while we were there, with alot of tournaments and treasure hunts and outings. They also catered very well for all ages. the swim club with Olly was excellent, and my 2 yr old sister, who previously was afraid of the water, came away able to swim with armbands.
The food was tasty, however fairly repetative. Tere is alot of salad, however not much Greek cuisine. The snack bar by the pool was manned my a non english speaking man called Stavros, who at first seemed veyr moody, however finally came to talk after the little boy he worked with fell in "love" with em and my sister (greeks for you) The icecream was a bit mank, not always frozen as there wasa great demand for it, however the drinks were always on tap. THe other snack bsar served delicious hot gdogs, chips, pizza and stuff liek this, which was great if you slept in and missed breakfast.
The outings we went on, to the water park and to bodrum in turkey were interesting., The water park was exelent fun, with stuff to do for all the family, from the timid two year old, too the boisterous thrill seeking 10 year old, to the lazy 46 year old dad preferring to sun bathe.
As for turkey, the market was good, with a lot to buy as long as you know how to haggle and don't mind fakes, however it was a typical turkish market, very hot and dusty with alot of pushing and shoving. It didn't appeal to the snobbish members of our party, who hated it because it was too loud and too dirty.
The watersports offered on the beach were excellently run, the girl in chanrge was lovely, and they gave away a lot of discounts, for group booking, demonstartions etc. Take flip- flops to the beach, as it was a bit stony and the sand was very very very hot. the water is lovely, and i'd strongly recomend paragliding, as the view from above is mystifying.
Generally I'd say it's a great place to go if the activites that members of you're party would like to do are varied, as it caters for everyone. The accomodation we stayed in was excellent, however the normal hotel rooms were more of a three *basis.

Well where do I start the whole holiday was terrible. I was meant to stay at Norida Beach Hotel but their useless staff overbooked so they decided to send us to the sovereign. The food was revolting two members of my family even had food poisoning for 24 hrs. The pool was dirty and you should hear the stories I have heard. I wont go into details. The staff are very grumpy apart from the staff at the watersports they were very helpful and friendly. The rooms got cleaned once every three days if you’re lucky. The all inclusive drinks were very average. If your expecting a nice cold beer in a glass think again they give you a plastic cup that’s been chewed up by a four year old. Overall I blame Sunstar and Norida they need to get their act together.

Brilliant holiday, have visited this Hotel three time previously, Staff are brilliant especially Katy front desk manager nothing too much trouble.
Rooms are basic but clean and how much time do you spend in the room? Food was really fine we have travelled to lots of destinations and the food, comfort and friendliness of staff cannot be compared. If you could work in the situation and give as good service as they do then I would be surprised.
We rate this Hotel brilliant and a perfect location.

Libra overbooked us and put us in a German dominated hotel in Mastahari for the first 3 nights where the food was dreadful. Sovereign Beach was better, but the pool was a bit small and dirty (stagnant pond colour) and lots complained (one so much he got sent home!). Rooms were clean but fairly basic, but you got the sense that it was more of a 3* than a 4*. Overall impression was average and I wouldn't stay there again. Service was average and you got the impression that when the hotel is full they don't have enough staff. Very disappointed with Libra's attitude to overbooking and problems with pool - no compensation, only an offer of future credit against bookings this year (2004). Entertainment was poor too.

Good hotel, above average and exceeded my expectations
Situated on beach and a short 10min stroll to Kardamena where there is plenty of
nightlife and lovely eating place
Really enjoyed this holiday and the all inclusive was very good
would go back
