" Cracking hotel. We've stayed at... "

Cracking hotel. We've stayed at several Grecotels in the past but overall this is probably the best. The food was varied and good quality, staff polite and friendly and the pools simply superb. The beach is essentially gravel rather than sand but the sea itself is very nice. The sunbeds around the kids pool are reserved by 7.30am (mainly by British - though Daily Mail readers may continue to take solace in wrongly blaming the Germans) but elsewhere there are few difficulties - we stayed 2 weeks in a full hotel and never struggled.

Only downsides are the island - which hasn't too much to offer - and the bar prices which are extortionate. If you're looking for a holiday with guaranteed sun, maximum relaxation, good views, swimming and food then you won't go far wong.

" Where do I start, the food, the... "

Where do I start, the food, the service, the cleanliness, the hygiene all excellent the staff perfect. The pools are excellent but you better hurry down and get a sun bed as the Germans reserve them all and don’t come back till about 13:00 we just removed the towels and told the pool attendant who by the way love the British people.

The breakfast buffet is unbelievable Champagne every morning and the staff will cook you anything if its not out, We made our way down for breakfast every morning at about 07:15 when it was nice and peaceful because at about 08:30 onwards it gets a bit manic so the earlier the better.

The poolside cafe or should I say restaurant is again excellent and very well priced we had four meals a bottle of wine a large beer and two sprites for about £40.00 a bargain when you see what you get (waiter service).

The on site mini market is very well priced we got our inflatables there and they were cheaper than in Kos town.

The a la carte restaurant again faultless and not over priced. We always stop in top notch hotels and are members of a seven star holiday club but this place takes some beating we will be back and we will definitely be stopping in a Grecotel again without doubt. This has been the best holiday we have had in a long time and I would especially like to thank Yannis the porter for his help and advice and my daughters think he's a star.

" The Grecotel Kos Imperial is reputed... "

The Grecotel Kos Imperial is reputed to be one of the best hotels on the island, 4-5 star hotel with three unheated sea water swimming pools and two indoor heated pools. We stayed in early May 06 the weather was very windy and cold at night, not many people ventured into the outdoor pools, very cold. Entertainment none existent in the first week and very limited in the second.

In regards to the bar, only the piano-lobby bar open at night with limited inside seating, expect to pay 4 euros for a glass of wine and 3.5 euros for 0.4l glass of beer. Surrounding area has one local taverna, Tasty Corner and no mini market, other than the hotel's. There is a mini market and an additional taverna down the road towards Kos town its about a 15-20 min walk. That’s if you are prepared to walk on the roadside, can be a bit risky at night. The beach area is poor, consisting of a man made stretch of beach and then shingle beach leading up to the sea.

On the whole I found the hotel to be very formal, other Europeans like to dress up for breakfast and dinner, fantastic facilities at a price, very, very good staff but I wont be going back to this Grecotel.

" The Kos imperial is brilliant, it is... "

The Kos imperial is brilliant, it is of very high standard the gardens are lovely and the outdoor pools are massive. Kos town is about a 5 min bus journey away there it has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, although everything you need is in your hotel. The hotel has a lovely beach with a large range of watersports to choose from.

The food in this hotel is delicious with a large variety to choose from including a kids selection. There is a well run kids club and kids disco.

I have been to other 5* hotels and this is by far the best i would recommend it to anyone! Anyone!!
