This was our third holiday on Thassos and the second time we have stayed at Finikes.
The apartments are always kept spotlessly clean and Vaso the owner is extremely helpful and friendly. Although the cooking facilities do not lend themselves to preparing anything more than a snack.
We ate out most evenings at the restaurant owned by Vaso's husband Nicos and his twin Elias where a discount was on offer for all guests.
We shall definitely be returning to Thassos and Finikes again.

The owners name is Vaso, she keeps the studios spotless, basic kitchen did have a toaster, free safe & fridge. A few minutes walk into THASSOS TOWN, bikes, mopeds, cars. Mini markets & fresh bread shop all with in 2 minutes.
From the boat 5 minutes on coach where Vaso will meet you.
THASSOS town has many shops & is close to harbour. Many tavernas, the Local BUS STATION is on the front road by the harbour the service is excellent. Coaches are all aircon & fares very cheap. We did enjoy the holiday & will return in 2006.

We have just returned from Thassos, this was our second time there and our second stay at Finikes. The apartments are ideally situated for a stroll into town for a meal at night or the beach during the day.
The hotel is family run and the owner is there every day, if you need something she will either tell you where to get it or get it for you.
The apartments have a small pool which ideal to have a dip into when you have returned from the beach or as we did stayed there some days for a relax.
There are lots of restaurants to choose from and all the thassions are friendly once you have visited a restaurant once the owner will remember you. Unlike other places in Greece the restaurants owners do not pester you when you walk by.
Well worth a visit.
I am just wondering now if I should have wrote a bad review so a lot of people will not visit.

Good points:
A lovely, clean, quiet place, perfect especially for couples who just want to chill in a good value place in a pleasant town. A good size pool considering it only has 10 rooms and the owner couldn’t be nicer and keener to please. A real winner!
Bad points:
Although advertised as self catering if your are seriously planning to cook this is probably not for you. Very basic and limited cooking area two very small rings, very basic equipment. Ok for a spot of bread and cheese at lunch and a cuppa
Portland are currently advertising this place as having air conditioning which it does - but you have to pay extra on arrival!!
Resort:
Quiet, friendly, clean, relatively hassle free. Beaches are not great in Thassos town but a good bus service to great ones elsewhere.
Food generally terrible across whole island - greasy, luke warm and a complete in ability to cook a potato properly in any style. But them perhaps I am just fussy, other said they had not had a bad meal anywhere!!

Just returned from first stay at Finikes studios. I agree with previous reviews. Simple but clean and well maintained. The pool is small but you will probably have it to yourself. Air Conditioning is an extra, €6 per day at the moment. For cooking you have two hot plates, one the smallest I have ever seen, but then we ate at a restaurant every evening. As a bonus there is actually an electric kettle!
Short walk to centre of Thassos Town where there are an enormous number of restaurants, lots of tourist shops and at least 4 cash machines.
