The Filipidis Studios are only 2 minutes stroll from the nearest mini market and a couple of tavernas and are 3 minutes walk to the lovely sandy beach.
The studios themselves are smart and a nice size with white modern furniture, but the wardrobe does not have any drawer space. There are very good blinds at all windows which are both good for security and keeping the room cooler.
Our room was very bright and there was unusually a good number of lights in the room. Also a kettle and a new fridge. However there was no air conditioning or television and to hire a fan you had to pay 20 Euros a week. For 14 days it would have been much cheaper to buy one.
Our room faced the camp site which meant we did suffer from some noise which was our biggest moan, and the only reason we would not return here.
Looking around the resort we would choose next year either the George Hotel or Nostros studios.
Finally wasps were a major problem in Golden Beach and whilst the tavernas did their best giving us a smoking cinnamon on a dish which helped it did not cure the issue completely and it somewhat spoilt eating out.
A great resort for a quiet relaxing break especially for couples who appreciate tranquillity.

There are advantages and disadvantages to staying at the Filipidis Studios which are listed below. Overall the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
Advantages:
3 minutes walk to the beach.
Modern and light studios which are well furnished.
Decent plumbing for Greece.
Studios cleaned daily except Fridays.
Friendly family owners.
Book exchange library.
Kettle provided with other equipment.
Security blinds.
The Resort of Golden Beach itself.
Easy access to both Golden Beach and Skala Potamis.
Mini Market and a couple of small shops 2 minutes walk away.
Safe deposit hire available for 18 Euros a week.
Disadvantages:
No air conditioning available.
Excess hire cost for a small fan 20 Euros a week.
Some noise from Camping site opposite. One day was very bad.
The vast number of wasps in the resort, which spoilt eating out on a couple of occasions.
Small complex with no swimming pool or bar.
Nice wardrobes but no drawer space in them.

The Filipidis Studios are only a 3 minute walk to the fabulous beach and are located at the eastern end of Golden Beach which means the resort of Skala Potamis is only a short distance to walk. The latter has a bigger selection and more quality tavernas but a vastly inferior beach.
However staying here you get the best of both worlds. The studios are a good size, basic, very clean and reasonably equipped but with no air conditioning, but the real bonus about staying here is Location, Location. We found the staff to be friendly.
The surrounding scenery is magnificent and we can recommend the resort of Golden Beach for a Beach Life and relaxing holiday but no good for the young and lively as there is a dearth of music bars which is a godsend.
If staying for 2 weeks car hire for a few days is suggested and it is not expensive. Also bus service to Thassos Town which is worth doing once during your holiday. Only one Bank in the 2 resorts and most of the tavernas do not accept Credit Cards

Nice studios in a position close to the beach and tavernas.
The rooms are basic but clean but were let down by the fact air conditioning was not available, which was a disappointment and a disadvantage.
Lovely beach, good choice of tavernas and a lovely backdrop. Be warned credit cards are not generally accepted in the tavernas in this resort, and the neighbouring one of Skala Potamis.
