" Hmmmm!! "

hotel is ok nothing special , the desk staff are a bit short with you but the cleaners are spot on , bar staff are quite freindly too, drinks are quite dear but all in all it's
at best OK you will enjoy yourself if you can overlook the hotels dated facilities.
Just over the road you can get the bus to rhodes town and from there a free bus takes you to the water park! do not get conned by the rep into going with them ! they will charge you 13 or more eurosto take you when it's 2 euros to Rhodes then free!!...
If you like modern facilities and helpful interested hotel staff with a friendly welcoming atmosphere then this isn't for you! we are an undemanding family so we just got on with it however we wouldn't go back to the Kassandra

" Pleasant enough "

I am 14 and have a 10 year old brother, and we went with my mum and her boyfriend. The appartment was very clean and tidy; although very out dated.
The bedrooms were very simple, and very much fufilled thier purpose well, with spare blankets and one wardrobe between two. There was a small balcony off the main bedroom, which provided a perfect place to hang out towels to dry and contained extra seating to what was in the kitchen. The kitchen though - I must admit was a let down, not that it was ever needed, but it contained two grimy rings and a fridge, a sink and several cuboards. As I said earlyer, it was not needed because the hotel resteraunt was at a very high standard, serving such delicasies such as swordfish, Greek specialties like (excuse the poor spelling) souvlaki and great English dishes like ommlettes.
It had two medium sized pools which I enjoyed spending time in, as they wern't to busy, although must have had very strong chemicals in them, as it turned the white of my swimsuit yellow, and my brothers orange shirt pink - to his great displeasure.
Once back from the pool I always look forward to a nice hot shower, but to my dissapointment, the shower leaked out the side and the hot water - if not water in general was very tempramental.
The staff were friendly in general and the cleaners (who came everyday) were especially kind and helpful.
It had very... Loud night entertainment including a not so entertaining kareoke, which kept me up until gone 12, as did the Greek night which wasnt to my taste.
I would recomend it as it is a perfect location and surrounding and is merly a lunch time pit stop for days of sun, sea, sand and shopping in Rhodes!

Advice: A great place, take loads of trips round the island and hit the beach! Its perfect for anyone!

Activities: Boat trips to Lindos and the knights of olde restraunt on the high street.

Good for: Beach

" excellent "

3-17th june 2009
We travelled as a family of 4, 2 adults, 1 4yr old and one 18 month old, please ignore all the negative e-mails about this accomodation, I think people that write negative reviews expect home from home in greece. The accomodation was basic, the kitchen and bathroom need upgrading, some of the kitchen utensils needed changing and when i asked it was done immediately. We had to pay to hire a toaster! But the experience was great, it was fairly quiet when we went and i imagine come the summer it gets very busy around the pool, the supermarket was small but fine ,there was a cheaper one along the road, the resort of trianda was no more than a 10 min walk away, the beach is NOT ideal for young children as it is stoney and the sea does become sandy under foot but becomes deep very suddenly-thats the only reason i wouldn't return until the kids were bigger, we hired a car in the end from memory cars in trianda, a very nice man who takes great pride in his cars-they were immaculate, although we had forgotten how bad the greek drivers are!!
the bar staff were so friendly and the taverna around the pool served very nice food, the greek dancing restaurant in trianda was great very traditional and the restaurant opposite the childrens car track was lovely-the train ride was beautiful and a lovely experience, all in all spome lovely memories

" Unpleasant Experience "

Only back from these apartment on Wednesday last week, the apt we go allocated was very dirty, filthy balcony ,sink unit where pots and pans kept was crumbling and dirty. Also bathroom really left a lot to be desired ceiling fan filty and broken, no shower curtain and also no hook for the shower to attach to. So when using the shower you had to use it hand held,Biggest problem was there seemed to be plenty solar panels, but we never once had any hot water never in the two weeks we were there. Towels and bedding changed daily that was good but the whole place needed a right good clean, the dirt that was there had been there for a long time.Swimming pools good, signs for no diving pretty well ignored by everybody especially adults who should know better. Reception staff were shocking with their dull and uninterested expresssions. Also plenty German, Dutch, and Polish. Overall very dissappointed in these apts and certainly wont be back.

Advice: The overall area is very beautiful Rhodes is lovely, plenty rest and bars most people friendly

Activities: Rhodes was good, Zorba rest, Greek rest,Georgious food was descent and not too expensive

Good for: Beach

" Pleasant Experience "

Just returned from the Kassandra Appartments.A mate and myself, both in our late forties, found this complex very much to our liking. The rooms are very basic but clean. Our rooms very serviced every day.Sheets and towels changed twice in the week we were there. The kitchen equipment leaves a bit to be desired. You have to hire a toaster at 10 euros a week.Rather buy one and bin it when you leave.
2 lovely pools and the food was good. The resort of Ialyssos is very spread out and is not for people who like to go clubbing.
15 mins on the bus to Rhodes old town. Not bad up there.
Alex McDonald.
PS.For you smokers who go with Olympic,Don't beleive the wee burd when she tells you there is a smoking section beyond passport contol.'Cause there aint.Go thru at the last minute.Duty free shops are a joke,I can get booze cheaper in Tesco and perfume cheaper in my local town centre.

Advice: Very quiet

Activities: Zorbas and Alkinos sports bar.

" basic "

We are a young couple (34 and 41) well im young. We spent 2 weeks s/c 30th aug to 14th sept 08. The room was ok/basic, but lets face it as long as is clean and your not in danger what more do you want? its somewhere to but your head at night. All the staff were friendly, the pools were very clean, as was our room, towels and bedding changed every day. For people to say its a dirt pit, i dont agree, the maids were very particular, with the towels ie(make-up on them)an using them (as a bath mat), they wernt to happy about. All in all we had a fab time, met (OUR NOW FRIENDS)a couple from manchester on our 1st morning(early hours, 6am)and George (not sure which one) was still smiling and happy to serve us to a few beers, and told us to pay later!!!!!.The town its self is,,,,a Maze, you take a wrong turn, and find more bars ans restaurants. The BEST BAR is The Yorkshire Man, we had some late nights/early mornings leaving there, and again we made some new friends in the bar including the owner and his FAB staff. So would i go again? Yes only next time id like to be in the NEW apartments at Kassandra.

" I stayed in Kassandra apts for 2... "

I stayed in Kassandra apts for 2 weeks, end of August beginning of September. My accomodation was in the block above the supermarket. The rooms were very clean, there may have been a few faults like a missing towel rail etc but nothing worth complaining about!! The maids came every day to clean and leave fresh towels. I really enjoyed my stay at Kassandra, the food in the Taverna is excellent and very reasonably priced, there is entertainment on 3/4 nights per week which is free, unlike other places. The staff were lovely and very friendly. George was a great host, making everyone feel welcome at the bar! The apartments are situated in between Trianda and Ixia so you never have far to walk before you come to a restaurant or bar.
I had an excellent holiday there and would go back again!!

" Stayed here last 2 weeks in August... "

Stayed here last 2 weeks in August and read many reviews before taking the decision as they are cleared mixed.
I have been on a Greek holiday most years for the last 20 years and have been to numerous resorts and Islands in the area and so I think I am reasonably balanced with my review.
We purchased this on a budget and the price was excellent at £400 a head for 2 weeks.
We took the 2 bedroom rooms which were clean, adequate and unremarkable in any way. They were a perfect base and the sheets/towels were regularly changed. If you take these self catering rooms believing that you can actually self cater then you are naive - at best you can prepare a snack but it simply wasn't worth it as the snack bar was as cheap as preparing your own!
The hotel over all was maintained by the elderly owner and with accommodation for over 100 people, it was clearly too much and the odd things suffered but overall - I maintain excellent value.
Outside, there were two pools. The central one was overcrowded and they did not enforce their 'no towels before 8am' policy and so the early risers (yes - germans/dutch mainly) were out at 5am bagging their white plastic sun loungers. The loungers were past their best and several supporting bits cracked from fat or clumsy occupants. The rear pool was a little quieter and a little bigger but the loungers were dreadful and in fact shameful. They had been repeatedly repaired by the owner and were disgusting fragile, and filthy. Also, the pool had some sort of fault that in 3 days resulted in it becoming so murky, we couldn't see our knees in 1.5m of water. Repeated complaining finally got the rep to take assertive action and after a further 3 days it was repaired but too late for my daughter who got an ear infection for the last 2 days stay. Fortunately, there was a large grass area that was perfect to lay in after the purchase of a cheap inflatable bed.
I cannot understand the drivel written by Mr * Roni in July. I think he got the wrong resort as, this is a 4*, it certainly served well after 11pm in 2x bars and was not filthy dirty etc - take no notice of it.
In short, if you want a base in a nice quiet family friendly resort with more than adequate bars/restaurants in easy walking distance, then this is the job for you. Beach is also fine - nothing special but safe - beach slippers recommended as shingle. Sunbeds on beach are fine and comfortable - EU7 per day for 2 beds and a brolli.
I would say that this resort would be dull for singles who are out on the pull for short term romance though :) go to Falaraki.

" Room basic, although cleaned daily... "

Room basic, although cleaned daily with towels. Bed linen changed every few days. Could not really use the cooking facilities ( 1 small 1 large hot plate - took an hour to boil some water!!) fridge also needed updating. Would have expected the air con to be included.

Our apartment was just above the entertainment area, so had a good view of everything. My boys loved the swimming areas, although some of the sun beds could have been updated, in addition the 'no savings sun beds' was completely ignored - particularly by the Danes and Dutch (mind you it did not take long for the Brits to join in!!).

Did not have much dealing with the staff, those at reception could do with going on a 'Smiling Course', the bar and restaurant staff were friendly enough.

The resort itself was OK, we ate out every night, the menus appeared to be the same everwhere, only difference was the quantity and quality. Everyone was very friendly and I would recommend learning a few Greek phrases, it was appreciated.

Due to the costs involved we only managed one trip to Lindos - great place, but it turned out you effectively paid for return coach travel.

Recommendation for Olympic rep - ensure you are visible when you are in the hotel!

Overall an enjoyable two weeks holiday, do not expect more than you pay for.

" Basic but clean. Maid service... "

Basic but clean. Maid service excellent. Air conditioning did not work, complained every day but to no effect. Eventually offered another room, but no guarantee that would be any better so stayed put.Staff on reception unhelpful and the Olympic rep made only two visits a week at times we thought inconvenient (much too early). She was mainly interested in selling excursions not the comfort of the guests. When we filled the holiday questionaire in at the end of the two weeks we rated the rep as poor, as we boarded the coach to the air port she took us to one side and challenged our rating! Overall you get what you pay for, would go back, but the Kassandra could do with a little renovation.

" We read a few bad reviews before our... "

We read a few bad reviews before our holiday but we could not fault it - you pay for what you get. We knew it was going to be a 'no frills' apartment although we did not expect to have to pay rent on a toaster. The maid cleaned everyday and sheets and towels changed regularly. There are 2 ample pools and 2 kids pools. Karaoke twice a week and Greek dancers once a week.We can't comment on the food served at the taverna as we ate out in Trianda. The bar was not too overly priced for drinks and ice-cream etc. All the staff were pleasant and friendly. The on-site supermarket is okay for essentials but you get more choice and cheaper prices at the supermarkets down on the beach road heading for Ixia.
The beach was only a 10 minute walk ( turn left when you go out of the main door) It is a pebbly beach and never gets overcrowded.
We enjoyed good meals in the Mesogios and Greekland taverna's but especially Toni's - you got a plateful at a great price. The nitelife in Trianda consisted of alot of cafe bars - our favourite was Kavalieros, very friendly staff in there. It only costs 2 euro's each way to go to Rhodes town on the bus - the bus stop is just across the road from Kassandra. The harbour is a sight to see, plenty of shops and places to eat, full of hustle and bustle. Beware crossing the roads, mopeds are the worst to watch for !
Overall we had a great holiday

" where can i start, if your english... "

where can i start, if your english dont go there as you will be only ones there, full of polish germans and dutch.no way is it a 4 star hotel struggle to make 1 star, room we stayed in was filthy, they only come in to change your sheets, loose wires everywhere light fitting hanging of ceiling, toilet seat did not fit, cobwebs everywhere, complained to manager was told it would be dealt with never was, swimming pools were ok,if you could get a sunbed no chance unless you were up at crack of dawn, entertainment was nil,the place where it was supposed to be was like a pit, dirty and filthy, dogs roaming round [-] everywhere, miserable staff, very non helpful, nothing in english on desks to tell you where you could go all in german polish and dutch,we wnt all inclusive what a joke, food was horrible diidnt even know what most of it was apart from salad meat looked disgusting,it was like a cattlemarket at mealtimes, when you wanted a drink at night there was only 1 person behind bar and about 200 people trying to get a drink, you were not served after 11pm if u wanted a drink then you had to pay and boy did they serve you quickly then,we ended up eating and drinking out which cost us a fortune,we tryed several times to be moved but they said all other hotels on island were booked,we have never complained about a holiday before and saved all year and payed a lot of hard earned money for this holiday, came back more stressed than when we went out there,so please dont make same mistakes as us and go there,by the way apart from swimming pools nothing for kids to do,i really wish we could send these agents and reps who book you your holiday to this place they wouldent last a day there.we also spoke to many local people who also did not have one good word to say about place.we love greece have been there last 5 years beaches great weather brilliant and rhodes is a lovely place these were the only things that kept us going.

" Have just arrived back from Rhodes... "

Have just arrived back from Rhodes with a friend (late 20s). Room was basic but didnt plan to stay in the room much.

Had to pay 64 euros for air con which isnt on in a hot country. Air con should come as standard. Had to sleep with the balcony door open so got bitten quite alot as a result.

Found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Not so sure on our holiday rep as we didnt see her much. Found out at the end of the holiday that there was a welcome meeting pack given out. We (my friend and I) didnt get one in our meeting.

Our room was always clean, and we had a change of soft towels and bed sheets every other day.

Location is perfect as its close to the beach and main restaurants. Local tavernas are cheap enough so can eat somewhere different every night.
A taxi into Old Rhodes town is only 10 euros, or there is a bus.

The sun loungers could do with updating as alot of them were broken and the pool got busy early so we went to the beach mostly.

I dont really have any major complaints about this resort apart from the air con.
