Kassandra Apartments Reviews
" Pleasant enough "
Submitted By: HolidayyGurllThe bedrooms were very simple, and very much fufilled thier purpose well, with spare blankets and one wardrobe between two. There was a small balcony off the main bedroom, which provided a perfect place to hang out towels to dry and contained extra seating to what was in the kitchen. The kitchen though - I must admit was a let down, not that it was ever needed, but it contained two grimy rings and a fridge, a sink and several cuboards. As I said earlyer, it was not needed because the hotel resteraunt was at a very high standard, serving such delicasies such as swordfish, Greek specialties like (excuse the poor spelling) souvlaki and great English dishes like ommlettes.
It had two medium sized pools which I enjoyed spending time in, as they wern't to busy, although must have had very strong chemicals in them, as it turned the white of my swimsuit yellow, and my brothers orange shirt pink - to his great displeasure.
Once back from the pool I always look forward to a nice hot shower, but to my dissapointment, the shower leaked out the side and the hot water - if not water in general was very tempramental.
The staff were friendly in general and the cleaners (who came everyday) were especially kind and helpful.
It had very... Loud night entertainment including a not so entertaining kareoke, which kept me up until gone 12, as did the Greek night which wasnt to my taste.
I would recomend it as it is a perfect location and surrounding and is merly a lunch time pit stop for days of sun, sea, sand and shopping in Rhodes!
Advice: A great place, take loads of trips round the island and hit the beach! Its perfect for anyone!
Activities: Boat trips to Lindos and the knights of olde restraunt on the high street.
Good for: Beach

Submitted By: tomlinWe travelled as a family of 4, 2 adults, 1 4yr old and one 18 month old, please ignore all the negative e-mails about this accomodation, I think people that write negative reviews expect home from home in greece. The accomodation was basic, the kitchen and bathroom need upgrading, some of the kitchen utensils needed changing and when i asked it was done immediately. We had to pay to hire a toaster! But the experience was great, it was fairly quiet when we went and i imagine come the summer it gets very busy around the pool, the supermarket was small but fine ,there was a cheaper one along the road, the resort of trianda was no more than a 10 min walk away, the beach is NOT ideal for young children as it is stoney and the sea does become sandy under foot but becomes deep very suddenly-thats the only reason i wouldn't return until the kids were bigger, we hired a car in the end from memory cars in trianda, a very nice man who takes great pride in his cars-they were immaculate, although we had forgotten how bad the greek drivers are!!
the bar staff were so friendly and the taverna around the pool served very nice food, the greek dancing restaurant in trianda was great very traditional and the restaurant opposite the childrens car track was lovely-the train ride was beautiful and a lovely experience, all in all spome lovely memories

" Stayed here last 2 weeks in August... "
Submitted By: Mr DC AtkinsonI have been on a Greek holiday most years for the last 20 years and have been to numerous resorts and Islands in the area and so I think I am reasonably balanced with my review.
We purchased this on a budget and the price was excellent at £400 a head for 2 weeks.
We took the 2 bedroom rooms which were clean, adequate and unremarkable in any way. They were a perfect base and the sheets/towels were regularly changed. If you take these self catering rooms believing that you can actually self cater then you are naive - at best you can prepare a snack but it simply wasn't worth it as the snack bar was as cheap as preparing your own!
The hotel over all was maintained by the elderly owner and with accommodation for over 100 people, it was clearly too much and the odd things suffered but overall - I maintain excellent value.
Outside, there were two pools. The central one was overcrowded and they did not enforce their 'no towels before 8am' policy and so the early risers (yes - germans/dutch mainly) were out at 5am bagging their white plastic sun loungers. The loungers were past their best and several supporting bits cracked from fat or clumsy occupants. The rear pool was a little quieter and a little bigger but the loungers were dreadful and in fact shameful. They had been repeatedly repaired by the owner and were disgusting fragile, and filthy. Also, the pool had some sort of fault that in 3 days resulted in it becoming so murky, we couldn't see our knees in 1.5m of water. Repeated complaining finally got the rep to take assertive action and after a further 3 days it was repaired but too late for my daughter who got an ear infection for the last 2 days stay. Fortunately, there was a large grass area that was perfect to lay in after the purchase of a cheap inflatable bed.
I cannot understand the drivel written by Mr * Roni in July. I think he got the wrong resort as, this is a 4*, it certainly served well after 11pm in 2x bars and was not filthy dirty etc - take no notice of it.
In short, if you want a base in a nice quiet family friendly resort with more than adequate bars/restaurants in easy walking distance, then this is the job for you. Beach is also fine - nothing special but safe - beach slippers recommended as shingle. Sunbeds on beach are fine and comfortable - EU7 per day for 2 beds and a brolli.
I would say that this resort would be dull for singles who are out on the pull for short term romance though :) go to Falaraki.

Submitted By: Mr Mike DunhamOur apartment was just above the entertainment area, so had a good view of everything. My boys loved the swimming areas, although some of the sun beds could have been updated, in addition the 'no savings sun beds' was completely ignored - particularly by the Danes and Dutch (mind you it did not take long for the Brits to join in!!).
Did not have much dealing with the staff, those at reception could do with going on a 'Smiling Course', the bar and restaurant staff were friendly enough.
The resort itself was OK, we ate out every night, the menus appeared to be the same everwhere, only difference was the quantity and quality. Everyone was very friendly and I would recommend learning a few Greek phrases, it was appreciated.
Due to the costs involved we only managed one trip to Lindos - great place, but it turned out you effectively paid for return coach travel.
Recommendation for Olympic rep - ensure you are visible when you are in the hotel!
Overall an enjoyable two weeks holiday, do not expect more than you pay for.

Submitted By: Mrs A RobertshawThe beach was only a 10 minute walk ( turn left when you go out of the main door) It is a pebbly beach and never gets overcrowded.
We enjoyed good meals in the Mesogios and Greekland taverna's but especially Toni's - you got a plateful at a great price. The nitelife in Trianda consisted of alot of cafe bars - our favourite was Kavalieros, very friendly staff in there. It only costs 2 euro's each way to go to Rhodes town on the bus - the bus stop is just across the road from Kassandra. The harbour is a sight to see, plenty of shops and places to eat, full of hustle and bustle. Beware crossing the roads, mopeds are the worst to watch for !
Overall we had a great holiday

Submitted By: Miss N CarterHad to pay 64 euros for air con which isnt on in a hot country. Air con should come as standard. Had to sleep with the balcony door open so got bitten quite alot as a result.
Found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Not so sure on our holiday rep as we didnt see her much. Found out at the end of the holiday that there was a welcome meeting pack given out. We (my friend and I) didnt get one in our meeting.
Our room was always clean, and we had a change of soft towels and bed sheets every other day.
Location is perfect as its close to the beach and main restaurants. Local tavernas are cheap enough so can eat somewhere different every night.
A taxi into Old Rhodes town is only 10 euros, or there is a bus.
The sun loungers could do with updating as alot of them were broken and the pool got busy early so we went to the beach mostly.
I dont really have any major complaints about this resort apart from the air con.

at best OK you will enjoy yourself if you can overlook the hotels dated facilities.
Just over the road you can get the bus to rhodes town and from there a free bus takes you to the water park! do not get conned by the rep into going with them ! they will charge you 13 or more eurosto take you when it's 2 euros to Rhodes then free!!...
If you like modern facilities and helpful interested hotel staff with a friendly welcoming atmosphere then this isn't for you! we are an undemanding family so we just got on with it however we wouldn't go back to the Kassandra
