Hotel was great - comfortable, spacious, air-conditioned rooms, food was plentiful and a varied choice for breakfast and in the evening. The choice is continental, so for a finiky child like my youngest teenager - it didn't go down too well - we found Pizza Hut in Rhodes... more

I have just returned from a week’s holiday at the lovely Lindos Bay Hotel and it was everything and more of what we were expecting. I can honestly say this was the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at whilst travelling to the Greek islands! The hotel is classed as 4* and I... more

Hotel accommodation was superb in both public areas and hotel rooms as it has recently been refurbished, and no problem getting a sunbed by the pool, even as late as 9am and lots of beds on the private beach. The restaurant however resembled a works canteen with tables... more

Just spent a week at Lindos Bay hotel. Lovely rooms big and spotlessly clean. Staff friendly and food was good. The only let down being the entertainment was very poor. We spent 6 nights out of 7 in Lindos town, as there was nothing to do at night and the bar closed early.... more

Fantastic hotel just outside Lindos. Rooms large spotless. Bath and shower. Food plenty of choice to a very high standard. Drinks good selection. Pools, beach, clean and safe. Animation team, well this is what lets it down, untalented and useless. Why do hotels bother with... more

Disappointed!
We have just arrived home after spending 10 nights in the Lindos Bay Hotel, with our 2 year old daughter and it was also my first time abroad. First of all, rooms were really really good, cleaned every day, air conditioning was limited throughout day and night but was sufficient. The view was fantastic of the surrounding mountains and sea. We stayed from 9th September expecting it to be a little cooler but it still exceeded 45 degrees on our first day so be warned! As soon as you step out of the hotel the heat kind of wipes you out. We were advised we were closer to Lindos Town, when infact there is no way you could walk there in that heat over a gianormous mountain! Taxis quite expensive and only 2 buses a day one at 9am and one at 4pm which were always about an hour late! Secondly, the food was not good. It was unimaginative, boring, had the same funny taste to it day after day and did favour other international dishes rather than English. Our 2 year old pretty much lived off grapes and cake for 10 days, and we both lost weight being there. All the staff were lovely, even if half of them couldnt understand a word you said! The bar and entertainment was ok, kids disco didnt start until 9pm, followed by bingo or Mr Lindos Bay etc which was funny but everything ground to a halt at 11pm - even the free drinks (which were not good either) became chargable. Overall we would definately go into Lindos Town again as we both fell in love with it, but would NOT stay in this hotel. Do take extra cash as we did not budget for not liking the food or drinks and ended up spending a fortune on taxis into Lindos to pay for quality meals.
Lindos Bay Hotel - August 2006
We had a two week stay August 2006, two families of four in four twin rooms. We were allocated 4 rooms away from each other (although on same floor). There were some negative points but in general we all enjoyed our holiday - beautiful views from the hotel (both sea to the front & stunning mountainside to the rear so no need to pay the sea view supplement). Hotel overlooks a large clean private pool & the pebbly beach is 30 seconds from the hotel lobby & a further 30 seconds to the sea, which is stunning clear with fish swimming close to the shore. The rooms were basic in content but very clean and adequate for the purpose (sleep, shower, change). The air con took a bit to get used to (noisy). Food in restaurant was varied and wide in choice, lots of meat, fish, pasta, vegetarian options - to suit everyone. There is a poolside bar (tea, coffee, alcohol, rolls, ice cream burgers etc) 10 - 5. Main bar in hotel 5 - 11 doing drinks, tea, coffee. Local alcohol fine. Entertainment during day fine (darts, table tennis, boules, water polo, football, volleybal, aqua gym etc). Evening entertainment left a bit to be desired but fine for kids (& adults when you have had sufficient of the locally produced alcohol which was never in short supply). There was one speciality act per week padded out with audiance participated games. Entertainment staff very pleasant & multi-lingual, but oh so financially dependant upon selling music cd's, t shirts & bingo tickets - they were round every day pushing them to the extent of being irritating. All the staff were increadibly friendly (waitresses, bar staff, entertainment, chef and manager). On the final day the manager showed us around two rooms which were in the process of being upgraded for next year (2007). This was a much higher standard if they are all done this way. Lindos, with the famous acropolys, is a half an hour hike over the mountainside or a five minute taxi ride. There is a shop on site (gifts, snacks, cigs, papers), a supermarket and a village shop 5 mins walk away. Would we go again - yes. Temperatures 30-40 degrees so go prepared. We were warned of mosquitos but never experienced any. Thanks Lindos Bay Hotel - the positives far outweighed the negatives.
Recommendation
I'd like to recommend Lindos Bay Hotel. Hotel service is very good. Everyday nice ladies clean precisely the room and bathroom. Bars and restaurant are splendid and well stocked. Personnel is kind and helpful. You won't regret spending your holiday there! :)
If you've already booked Lindos Bay, do NOT read this review
Hotel stay 23.8.06-30.8.06 The cleanliness of the Hotel was was one of its stronger points. Each morning the chaimbermaids would be found scubbing the hallway carpets and the rooms were always left immaculate. The animation team were lively and bubbly, always on-call and worked extremely hard to entertain the Hotel guests with what appeared to be little or no resources. The evening entertainment, although like Butlins abroad, was nightly, live and broke the boredom. To be fair to the Animation team, they were young, enthusiastic, and really tried their hardest - with some real characters making our stay much more pleasant than it would have otherwise been. It is a shame the regular staff couldn't manage to do the same. The gentlemen behind the bars and reception were rarely found with a smile on their faces and made you feel as if collecting an all-inclusive drink that had already been paid for was presenting them with a genuine inconvenience. The canteen - i refuse to refer to the room in which we ate as a restaurant - was a sham. After only 36 hours all of the food looked and tasted the same. It was repetetive, unimaginitive and totally unenjoyable. You even had difficulty locating cutlery. Boistrous and loud, politesse was completely lost in this room as the league of nations that were there to eat pushed and shoved in an effort to pile their plates, apparently oblivious of everyone else around them. 'All-inlcusive' is a very loose term to be used in collaboration with this Hotel as at eleven pm everything grinded to an abrupt halt. The all-inclusive, that is. All drinks became chargeable for and even the pool table (which incidentally costs two euros per game at all times) was even closed. Throughout the day, the 'snack' bar served a scant selection of unappetising dry rolls and bread containing wafer-thin slices of 'cheese' and 'ham'. However if you did not fancy thoses there were always the lillput-sized hotdogs and frankfurters. Yum yum. In conclusion, we were eager to return home to see a happy face and enjoy a decent meal. Never before on an all-inclusive holiday has the family, all five of us collectively, returned home to have lost weight. This to be fair though was NOT due to a lack of food. If you are looking for a hotel where they take your money upfront and then you stay on a take-it-or-leave-it basis (mainly leave-it...) This Hotel is waiting for you just a four hour plane ride away. This has unfortuantely spoilt our first experience of Greece and shall not be returning to Lindos Bay to repeat the ordeal. One very VERY dissappointed family.
Value for money at Lindos Bay
There were some awful reviews for this hotel a couple of years ago so I was a little apprehensive about going for a week with my 11 year old son. In the end we had a great time. The good points - The hotel is clean and the rooms roomy and pleasant - air conditioning is a bit basic but works. Food is OK to good, the buffets have a good vegetarian selection and a choice of 8 main courses for carnivores at dinner. Pool bar food is a little limited but snacks are snacks. Staff are very friendly - a lot of eastern europeans there (Czech and Polish) and all helpful with good English. Nice fellow holidaymakers. A wide selection of nationalities to chill out with. (My son was playing Top Trumps in German pretty quickly. Beach and pool very nice Enough sun loungers - you could still get poolside loungers at 10.30 (don't ask me how I know) Not so good points. Evening entertainment could only be described as weak. The animation team was very young and enthusiastic but the urge to sell you CD's, T shirts and bingo cards to augment their meagre income spoilt it a bit. The all-inclusive option felt grudging on occasion. The pool bar closed at 17.30 when the entertainment was down there until midnight and the entertainment crossed over the 23.00 pay-bar limit. You just got the impression they were trying to limit their outgoings. Perfect for us but the hotel was pretty quiet - nothing local after midnight - not the place for clubbers and partying. Overall we enjoyed a midrange Greek all-inclusive. If you can afford it go to a Louis hotel for a top range hotel.
Enjoyed stay @ Lindos Bay
We stayed at the Lindos Bay for 1 week (21/06/06 - 28/06/06), upon arrival we were very imopressed with the position/location of the hotel. We first thought that the man on reception was a little grumpy when were checking in. We were please with the room as they are very spacious. Was glad we paid that little bit extra for the sea view, it was well worth it, absolutely beautiful!!! I agree with an earlier comment about the canteen, sorry restaurant. It was very much like a school canteen, the food was ok but aimed mostly towards other nationalities. Shame it was only the English who knew how to queue, same applied to at the bar. It gave a nice excuse to sample the taverna's along the road and in Lindos. The pool area was fantastic, good sized pool plenty of sun loungers, plenty of activities for adults and children. We were very pleased with the hotel, the grumpy man on reception turned out to be quite nice. Would definately go to this hotel again and will recommend to friends and family. There are little niggly problems but the view more than makes up for it!!!!
Family fantastic
Well I was alittle worried having read the reviews- some good, some downright bad- the only common theme was how clean the place was. It was a new venture for us, taking a 5 month old baby to Greece in the height of summer, and therefore choosing to go all-inclusive. Being best man at a wedding there forced our hands somewhat. Clean it certainly was, the decor and general ambiance in the bar and restaurant were good and very pleasant. The food was overall rated as good+. My wife being vegetarian did however have reason toturn her nose up at a few things because they seem to class eating fish as somehow vegetarian. They have a vegetarian section so when my wife had the macaroni cheese from it, and found flakes of tuna in it, she wasnt too impressed. Neither the ham in the margharita pizza either. We only ate out a a local taverna twice in the evenings because the veggie choice didnt appeal to her. I got used to eating aubergines twice a day, always stuffed with various fillings. I would definitely go there again, especially when Erin is older (or has siblings) as the entertainment staff, most of whom speak 4 or 5 languages fluently, are fantastic. It comes in handy as there are a lot of Italians and Germans. There were events fron darts, gymnastics, table tennis, pool games, boules in the morning through to water aerobics, water polo (gets a bit rough with the big guys) and water volleyball. Kids show/disco in the evenings and a show for the grown ups at ten. It was a bit of a surprise telling us by letter 4 weeks before departure that the all-inclusive bar closed at 11, not 11.30. It wasnt a problem as we are not big drinkers but only getting beer in 1/3 pint glasses meant a lot of toing and froing to the bar. The beach attached was pebble unfortunately so no leisurely walks with the pram by the shore. Overall we have already recommended this hotel to some of our friends and would like to go again when we have an older family.
VERY good all round hotel
The hotel is in a quite location about 4k from lindos town itself, there is a bus to get to lindos or can hire a car for a cheep price of about 30 euros a day of 75 euros for 3 days. the hotel is very clean inside and in the rooms, the staff are very freindly, the animation work very hard throughout the day and night try to please both childern and adults, each day they run fun games around the pool and at night time they do a kids disco from 21:00 - 21:30 then they play bingo and have a different act on each night done by the animation team, the swiming pool is very clean and there is also a very good kids pool, the beach is a stoney beach with nice clean sea, on the beach there is water sports rangeing from peddle boats to jet skying to banana boats etc, also there is a daily boat trip which cost 17 euros, there drinks around the pool are free all day and there is also cobs there in the day as well, the food in the hotel is to a good standed and may some time not be what your after how ever bare in mind they are catering for lot of different countrys, so dont expect just english food all the time. the only bad thing i have to say about the hotel is after 23:00 each night the bar is not a free bar and you have to start paying for the drinks, but i think its a good idea to get people of to bed. one last thing there is two computers there which you can get on to use on the internet for 4 and a half euros for 30 mins. over all i think this is a great hotel and should be a good holiday for you.
poor food, very boring no daytime activities manaegment indifferent
arrived early hours of the morning very tired but could not even get a cup of tea !. food was very limited and restauracnt was like a work canteen. snacks from bar were appalling. location is nice and quite but it is a very long walk up sttep hill to bus service so car hire is essential. great location if you just want to cunbathe and read but anything more and you will be sorely disappointed. no aircond ntil june as management says too expensive to use earlier and when we complained we could not get a drink of any type when arriving in the ealr hours, even though all inclusive, they just shrugged and walked off. i would not return to this hotel and beleive it to be far to pricey for what is on offer. .
Great holiday very relaxing
This has been our second trip the the Lindos Bay Hotel, Staff are excellent very freindly, and welcoming. Remembered us from last year which made us feel really special. Rooms are great first hotel abroad that I have been too that has carpet. Cleaners do a wonderful job everymorning. Vacuming, making beds, towels changed daily sheets changed every few days. Reception is cleaned by a small army of cleaners every morning. Plenty of room on the sun terrace, pool really clean, beach fantastic (pebbles) Sea crystal clear. Shame I had to come home. Children loved the pool, beach the fantastic entertainers Slymn, Mary, Gwen and Davyd, and loved the watersports which is a short walk along the beach. Not much to spend your money on but thats a good thing with six children. Taxi's are phoned by reception and arrive within a few minutes. Only slight moan the food does get a bit the same. Not enough chips for my children but there is always rice and pasta. Plenty of salad's and vegetarian choices. Hope to go again next year.
