First impressions of the hotel were great...BUT...we got one of the unrefurbished rooms which was very basic & uncomfortable (the twin beds were uncomfortable & so small my partner's feet hung over the end), and the bathroom was very basic with the shower curtain hanging over the toilet. They did move us to a refurbished room but they said 25 of the 90 rooms had not yet been refurbished, so you could pay the same price as someone else and not get the same standard facilities. The refurbished rooms are very nice though with comfy beds, nice bathrooms & TVs. The Air con charge is very expensive at 42 Euros per week and so is the use of the fridge at 42 Euros per week. If you add this to the 15 Euros for the safety deposit box it is an extra 99 Euros per week on top of your holiday. The holiday brochures need to state how much these extras cost.

Some of the hotel has been modernised so if you get one of these rooms then I don't think there would be any faults with the hotel. The staff are helpful and the public areas of the hotel are very smart.
We got a room that hadn't been modernised and was very basic, shabby and a real let down. Shower was rusty, beds very uncomfortable, none of the things we were told would be in our room (tv, radio, hairdryer) actually existed! It was probably one of the worst rooms I have every stayed in.
The smell of sewers was very strong from about 5pm right through to late night/early hours of the morning. The smell only seemed to be bad in the block we stayed in. Also, we were woken by cockerels around 4am every day. The noise from them was near enough continuous until after breakfast. We noticed in the guest comments book that other people in our block had the same trouble and had been moved to a different room however we were told there were no other rooms available. Due to the noise and foul smell we had to keep the balcony doors shut every night. It would have been nice to have been able to keep these open at night to get a bit of a breeze in the room as the temperature was around 38 degrees during the day and still very hot at night.
All in all, a real disappointing stay. Had been looking forward to the holiday for months, but couldn't wait to get home!

We went to contessina in June this year, the hotel is beautiful within an excellent location stones throw from beach.
Pool lovely and big with plenty of sun loungers. Bar man was super friendly as were the reception staff.
Breakfast basic but good, sausage, eggs, fresh fruit , cereals, bread rolls and even pg tips.
Room was extremly basic just two beds no kitchen or kettle, fridge 40 euro for a week and its tiny. we were in old block at back of pool in need of refurbishment no tv. def not the rooms as seen on the website.
Tvsilivi is lovely resort highly recommend the two brothers pub excellent cocktails and service is amazing these guys are crazy. Water park small but few good slides lazy river was great, loads of sunbeds at no extra cost.
Weather gorgeous, all in all resort and hotel good would have been 10 out of 10 if had new room.

Just had our 2nd brilliant holiday at The Contessina. Can't fault it,breakfast was very good, refurbished room was beautiful, cleanliness and friendliness of everyone was spot on. I am just taking home the details of a booking for next June. Three minutes from beach, five minutes from town lots of fabulous taverna's and bars. Plenty to suit everyone, the hotel was full of people of all ages from toddlers, teenagers, young couples and golden oldies so there is something for everyone. See you all next year.

We have been to this hotel before 3 times and still would go back we got a bottle of wine free aswell for going back and we got one of the new rooms.
The food is nice there but there is a cafe next door which is nicer. The drinks in the hotel are deer they are 2 euros just for a can.

We visited the Contessina Hotel in June 2008 and were not dissapointed. This is a beautiful hotel which was so clean you could have ate off the floors! The staff are super friendly and speak perfect English. If you need anything or have any queries you only have to ask and the staff will do their best to help. The breakfasts are good and cater for all palates. The snack menus offer an excellent choice. All rooms have ari-con which you pay for at 6 euros a day - and believe me you need it as when we were there the temperature was 110 degrees ! The pool is perfect and there are alwasy sun loungers available. It is in the best location for getting out and about if thats what you want to do. Best place to eat in the evenings was Gorgios just around the corner and the best fried breakfasts are next door to the hotel (if thats what you want). We are going back again next year with our whole family and I can honestly say that we would not consider anywhere elso from now on.

I went to Zante to get married in may this year. I booked this hotel for 26 people in total and we were all very impressed. As first impressions go this was a lovely place. It was very clean and bright. All the staff were friendly and polite. The food was lovely too.
I would advise anyone to go to this hotel as I will definitley return there in the near future.

A lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff. On arrival you receive a cold juice. The breakfast although basic was worth getting up for eg: boiled eggs, sausages, beans and toast. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. You have to get up early to get a sunbed round the pool. We prefered the beach which is a 5minute walk away. Our Thomson rep was very helpful. On our return home we booked to go back this July, and cant wait.

We visited the Contessina last August and on our return home booked again for this July. On arrival you are greeted by friendly staff, and are offered a cold juice. We hired a fridge and by the time we had visited the local supermarket it had arrived in our room. The breakfast although basic was worth getting up for eg: sausage, beans, boiled eggs. If you prefer to stay arround the pool you need to be up early to get a sunbed. We prefered the beach which is a five minute walk away. The local restaurants are all good as are the beach bars. We cant wait to return in July.

We visited the Contessina in October this year and it was a really lovely hotel with friendly staff especially the bar man. It says the breakfast is continental but you get a small range of sausage, beans and eggs which was a nice touch and the greek yogurt and honey is fantastic!
We had a refurb'd room that was really nice but the old rooms are more basic and nothing like the new ones (so try and request a new one).
The hotel is 5 mins from the beach and a very short walk to bars and restaurants we would recommend Georgios restaurant!
We would go back to this hotel and to go on the simply Zante tour (book with your rep as you will have a better coach!) Enjoy! :-)

You will not be disappointed if you have booked into the Contessina. We were greeted at the hotel by friendly, well spoken English staff with refreshments.
The bar area and lounge has been revamped from the brochure and it is fantastic! Nicos behind the bar is excellent at his job.
The pool area is spotless washed down every morning and they seem to have an obsession for scrubbing the sunbeds till they sparkle.
Our room was basic though others in the hotel had been done up, though don’t let me put you off even ours was good.
Just up the road are the bars and restaurants not naming any in particular as they are all worth visiting.2.50euros for amstel bottle,3euros for cocktails you’re not getting robbed!
Down the road is the beach, we paid 5euros for 2 sunbeds and parasol at cosy beach bar.
Excellent bar snacks we had baguettes and burgers yummy! The hotel is more than its brochure rating and would recommend to anybody. Same goes for Tsilivi something for everyone.
