What a fantastic hotel! From the very second we walked into the reception I fell in love with the place.
The reception area is very grand and immediately your bags are whisked away by discreet porters. We paid a supplement to upgrade our room and my goodness it was fabulous. Spotlessly clean (which also applied to the entire hotel) we had a walk in wardrobe (into which a safe was secreted), a table and chairs, a huge sofa, 2 double beds, satellite TV, tea and coffee making facilities a massive bathroom which had two showers yes two, one was a normal shower and the second was a therapy shower with jets of water coming from all directions and finally a huge balcony.
Our balcony overlooked the crazy golf and children’s playground area. The playground had a safe landing surface (just another area where great care was taken).
Once I had managed to stop saying how wonderful our room was we took a walk around the complex.
The swimming pool is huge with enough sun beds to cater for an army I should think. Again this area was immaculately clean and well cared for. We did not make use of the gym but again, for fear of being boring, it was fabulous. The lounge area was superb with soft deep leather armchairs. The piano bar was very smart and the main bar and entertainment area was just so comfortable with easy chairs even sofas if you wanted.
The dining room was the best I have ever encountered although the hotel is enormous and was full you were made to feel as if you were the only guests and were taken to your table by incredibly polite, friendly staff. I think that if you could not find something to eat at every meal then you must be a Martian. The choice at both mealtimes was immense with tables groaning under the weight of the food. There was not one occasion when I was disappointed with my food.
The staff were just so nice to everyone all of the time you did not feel that it was just an act there was genuine warmth there.
The resort itself was a very short walk away and is full of little shops in winding roads selling the things you come to expect at seaside resorts but there were a few nice ladies clothes shops with very reasonable prices. The beach was fantastic, lovely golden sand I did not venture into the sea so I cannot pass comment.
The only thing I was disappointed with was because it was late season the small bars and some restaurants were closed in the evening but as I said the entertainment in the hotel was superb so it was real problem to go back to the hotel.
Overall I can honestly say that this was the best hotel I have ever stayed in with the most genuine and warm staff from the manager to the man who cleaned the pool.
I cannot wait to go back.
