The hotel itself has a very nice reception, bar and Pool area. The rooms are Spacious and clean (there is a daily maid service). The hotel itself you cannot fault and I would go back again on a Bed and Breakfast basis however the Lunch Dinner was horrid and the staff were not very friendly!
We were on a full board basis and the food was not great, the breakfast was good but lunch and dinner was often cold or tasteless and the quality of the food was cheap.
On our first visit to the restaurant no one took the time to show us where things were etc and we was left to our own devices, perhaps why the restaurant is chaos! There doesn’t seem to be a queuing system and it’s a bit of a free for all. It was also almost impossible to get a waiter to serve you a drink with dinner! And the staff are not the friendliest.
The entertainment in the evening was geared toward the children and older guests nothing for younger couples, once the entertainment stops at approx 12 o’clock there was no disco like most hotels and they seem to want to get you off to bed a.s.a.p. The drinks in the hotel are quite reasonable and much the same as other bars nearby.
There is also a daily entertainment board in reception with archery etc and if you want to get involved you need to look at the board and go get yourself involved there are no announcements etc by the poolside as in most previous hotels I have stayed in!
There are a few bars/ restaurants/ supermarkets a 5 min walk and Salou and Cambrillis are about 2 mile walk however bus service is excellent and Dirt Cheap! The Beach is just across the road and is nice.
For all the sports or Big Brother Fanatics there is a good English bar called Bar Marios a few hundred yards away with good English food and drink and Sky/Sky Sports, here they show all the footie etc and all the soaps and Big Brother. Because we went independently we had no tour operator and wanted advice on which trips etc to take there information was spot on and they gave us so many good tips! Well worth a visit just to coax the info out of them!
The Plana bus tour to the Neu Camp, Barcelona is great and good value, well recommended!
Port Aventura is near by, we have been to Universal in America and this is owned by them but not a patch on Universal Studios. We got tickets given to us for free in resort by someone who had a 14 day pass (this happens a lot apparently- people go for a day or two then pass there 14 day pass on!) however if we had paid would have thought it was a waste of money but if you have Children I’m sure they will love it!

Rooms were well kept and cleaned daily. The resort is maintained first class. The food was bland, often tasteless, and meat was cheap quality and tough.
The beach is very good and clean. The pool was excellent, and staff were friendly and helpful. Barcelona is a fantastic city to visit and will certainly go back there.
Cambrils town has an old Spanish fishing village feel to it, and is a good walk (approx 2 miles) but is worthwhile. Salou is same distance in the other direction, but is very commercialised.
In an evening, the promenade between Cambrils and Salou is dotted with Africans trying to sell cheap tat. The fountains in Salou are worth a visit.

We found the hotel clean and comfortable the room was a little noisy in the morning best to get a room at the front pool side but was comfortable, the staff where very helpful especially the bar staff one in particular was very good at his job, the food was very good lots of choice every night some dining room staff where not so helpful but most ok transport was good to wherever you needed to go you could walk along the beach to Salou or Cambrils was nice walk plenty of places to eat or drink also good shopping centre in both staff helpful in all shops we went into. Trains or buses to Barcelona took about 1 half hour people not so helpful there and found it very dirty and noisy. We met some nice people in the hotel the entertainment was good you also get good measure of drinks. In all we had a nice holiday and would certainly go back.

Have been back a week from this hotel. We went later in the year so it would be quieter and it was.
First impression of the hotel was very nice, spacious, clean. The people on reception were very friendly and spoke fluent English. We did have to wait for our room to be ready but not for very long and it gave us a chance to look around.
The pool area is lovely, beautifully clean pool, lots of sunbeds and a nice pool bar that serves food and drink. There are plenty of tables and chairs around the poolside too, some shaded, some not.
The bedroom was lovely, I was somewhat relieved when I found it so clean and no cockroaches running around (you do hear some horror stories) patio door out to the balcony which overlooked the pool and beach.
The rooms were cleaned daily, fresh towels if you wanted them every day, floors washed and beds made to a standard that my mother would be proud of!
As we were half board, breakfast and dinner were included. The food was brilliant, I’m very fussy but what a choice! There was something for everyone and if you couldn't find something you liked, I would be shocked.
The hotel is in between Salou and Cambrils. The bus service is excellent. We had booked a hire car as part of the holiday package but cancelled it as we felt it was easier to catch the buses. They were very cheap too and very regular, we didn't wait more than 10 minutes ever.
I preferred Salou to Cambrils, there were more shops, lovely beaches whereas Cambrils was more designer, more restaurants etc. Salou is lovely in the evening, lots to do, so many varieties of bars, clubs, restaurants, all lit up including the fountains.
I had a great time and I am looking at using this chain of hotels again but in a different place, here's hoping it's as good as this one

Great Family Hotel!!!
Don’t listen to any bad comments about the food because it was great. I have 3 fussy children and there was something every day for them and more.
Hotel was very clean and the rooms were done every day. The pool was clean and there was always a lifeguard at hand. There was a kids club but because there was so many different pool activities going on they stayed around the pool.
The beach was 3 mins away and not to be missed.
Aqopalis is a water theme park - just to warn you because our rep never told us any of this, when you pay your entrance fee you still need to pay for your rings when you’re in there plus a deposit, lockers were the same. If you fancy swimming with sea lions don’t let the rep say it will be with 4 other people because there was 18 others. In all it cost about 400 euros. EXPENSIVE DAY. The water park at Portaventura is much better
We had a great holiday!! We are going to return next year

This hotel is fantastic; spacious and good value for your money. Staff - Friendly; know everything and will answer your questions.
Food - Delicious, Breakfast is a typical English breakfast but there are different types of egg [fried; boiled; scrambled; sunny side up] and there is also a choice of fruit; yogurts; cereal and milk; bread with butter/jam/etc.
Dinner is changed everyday so you get a range of things to eat and try, from veal, lasagne, pasta [everyday but different types of pasta], potatoes, pastries, sausages, wraps, kebab, aubergines and chips for the children, there is loads to eat and try!
They also have a toaster and microwave for your foods and have a selection of foods for those who have diabetes. Drinks can be ordered but there is hot chocolate, white coffee, coffee, tea, cappuccino and juices.
Facilities - TV in rooms, radio, a balcony with tables and seats, wardrobe, lamps and mirrors. Fully air conditioned. Bathrooms are reasonable with a hairdryer. The hotel has a big bar with a lot of seats and tables and they also have a big lounge for you too relax.
They have internet access, 5/6 computers with games [football, car racing etc] and MSN, Yahoo. 1 Euro for ten minutes or 2 euros for 20 minutes, there is a lot of children who want to just play games on the computers so you better bag a computer quickly! The computers are also equipped with webcams.
Pool - The pool is lovely and big with a water fall fountain and a bridge to walk over. They have a kids pool also. A lifeguard on duty. A poolside bar also. Plenty of sun loungers with umbrellas.
Entertainment - there is a kids club and at night they have entertainments outside near the pool where they sun loungers are removed and tables and chairs are put out. They have people singing/dancing/acrobatic performers and magic shows!
Hotel has three lifts including stairs. Toilets on the main floor. Loads of mirrors dotted around the hotel! 2 gift shops, one souvenir and the other clothes and jewellery.
The hotel itself is not that far from the beach; almost across the main road.
Visit Portaventura and Barcelons stadium but you should book them in advance so you don’t have to wait in the queues! Also be aware of pick pockets, this is where people can pretend to talk to you but steal your money/purses/wallets, please be on the look out for them because they can steal anything without you noticing, I'd advise you to not take loads of cash with you and have one of those money pockets that you put around your waist and wear a baggy shirt over it.
Cambrils is not that far from Salou; only about 6/7 bus stops away from cambrils and the bus is cheap. The markets sell nice stuff. If you are going to visit Tarragonna that’s a place most likely to be pick pocketed especially at the bus station so please be careful.
The hotel overall is a beautiful place with 4 floors and good rooms in each one but the only downer is probably the busy railway track on the side of the hotel which is alright because it only goes by every so often but its no big deal.

Allocated on arrival out of 3 hotels.
Arrived at Hotel at 11AM, Reception advised room wouldn't be ready until 1.30PM.
I had read reviews about a railway line at the rear of the Hotel & guess what, our rooms over looked this. I was not happy about this so I asked to move - reception said i had no chance as the Hotel was completely full, told me to ask next day.
The railway line didn't bother us one bit that night or day, I admit it was very loud but who spends all there time in there room!? It does however run 24/7 so If you do have a problem sleeping this would definitely wake you up.
Rooms were very clean, fresh towels everyday, cleaners very efficient. There is a T.V but be warned there is a 30 Euro deposit to hire the remote.
Dining room is excellent, breakfast time is the busiest, best time to go is around 8.30 or you are queuing to get in around 9! Food I thought was good, lots of choice. Waiter service excellent, couldn’t be happier to help you more than I can say about the reception (They were all miserable & unhelpful)
Pool area is brilliant, best pool I’ve ever been to, its definitely a 4*. Me & My boyfriend got up at 8.30ish everyday & there was always plenty or sun beds even at 11 you could get one.
I would say more parasols needed as temperature reached 38 most days, around 40 parasols and for the Hotel size its definitely not enough. Had to pay 3 Euro deposit for these as well and this meant queuing at reception for ages to get one.
The Hotel is situated in a very good area, it's just over road from beach. Cambrils has a few bars and shops but I would recommend Salou for shops. Salou is about a 10/15 Min bus ride away and buses are very cheap, they run 24 hours also.
Entertainment is not the best, I found that it starts to late. Mini-Disco for the children is on 3 times a week but it goes on for an hour and a half which does get boring if you don’t have young children.
Overall I had a brilliant time and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

After reading comments from last year, my husband and myself didn't know quite what to expect. We arrived early morning, tired after an airport delay and the receptionist was quite quick in processing about 12 or so families through.
The room was just adequate but very clean, the maids worked hard and you had fresh towels every day (and more if you requested them). We had a room facing the main road, but after about midnight (when we usually got in anyway), the traffic ceased and we had a good nights sleep until the traffic started again about 7am but it didn't really bother us. We used to get down for breakfast about 8.15 because after 9 it got very busy and we would see people queuing.
The pool area is big and clean and the lifeguard does do his job, our only complaint was that there wasn’t enough parasols about 50 for a 400 roomed hotel, used to get ours at 10am. Cambrils town is quite nice with lots of little shops about 10 minutes on the bus (runs every 15 mins) or a very pleasant walk along the front about 50 minutes. Salou is about 10 minutes on the bus, but only went through it. Tarragon (40 minutes on the bus) a lovely little town modern and old buildings, worth a visit. Went on the Barcelona Flavours tour with Thompson, excellent but very tiring.
Evening meal was not to bad, beef, pork, lamb and chicken and fish, veg, potatoes, salad, chilli etc, sometimes a bit on the cooler side, but didn't spoil your meal, I'm a fussy eater and always had a starter, main meal and dessert, and was always full. Try to get down about 7.30 after that it was a bit busy. The restaurant staff were very busy but friendly and helpful and the waiters in and out, only to happy to oblige, one after a couple of days always knew what we wanted.
We would go again, probably in a couple of years time, but we both really enjoyed our holiday.

The hotel over all is well presented and clean, the rooms are not that big but most adequate, they get cleaned every day, and the maids don’t mind coming back later to let you have a sleep in. the pool is fantastic very clean and great for the kids it also has a life guard at all time during the day.
The entertainment is not too bad but what I found is that it started too late in the evening around 10pm.
The only thing the spoiled the hotel was the food, it is ok if you love fish and steak, it is very rich food and overbearing I found that we ate out most nights,
I would recommend the rugby tavern for a meal it is fantastic and great for the kids and not to expensive. It is just across the road and down a little.
P.s do not go to the Chinese restaurant at the bottom of the road just before you reach Salou, it is disgusting.
Over all we had a brill holiday.

After reading reviews after booking this hotel I was expecting an awful holiday, I had as suggested emailed the hotel in advance requesting a front facing room because of the train.
On arrival we were allocated a room at the back of the hotel, and to be honest at first I was going to request another room but now I am glad I didn’t, yes there is a train but you would not notice it at all and I have two kids. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean, the restaurant was top class and I would give it ten out of ten we ended up eating their 5 nights out of the seven because it was the nicest place around. However we all probably put on around a stone weight each in the week.
The entertainment at night was excellent and it you find it too much there is a pub the Mucky Duck just a two minute walk up the road that shows all the footie etc. We had an excellent holiday the hotel made the holiday I liked both Salou and Cambrils but they are just like any other holiday resort, the beaches r however fabulous and ideal for walking kids on in the eve.
The only criticism that I have is the receptionist in the hotel we found very ignorant and the kids club was in the words of my son 'a bit boring' I think this may have been that he was the only English speaking child on it the day he went. This hotel is ideal for families who are traveling together. Just beware of the receptionist! The head waiter in the restaurant is about the only nice staff member in it. All in all great holiday, can’t believe its over.

After reading the other reviews of this hotel, I can’t help but feel that I was at a different hotel altogether.
My room could only be described as cramped, with a "double" bed which was actually two singles pushed together. Our balcony looked out onto a noisy train track, and never saw the sun at any point during the day. (There are rooms that look out on the pool/beach, and get the sun nearly all day long, but these only make up a small percentage of the rooms available, and guests who get these should count themselves lucky!)
In saying this the room was clean, and there was a daily maid service.
The food at both dinner and breakfast times was shockingly bad. I got the feeling that because it was a buffet, the idea was to try to get you to eat a little a possible, in an attempt to make more profit out of your stay. If you have a sweet tooth like myself, you’ll be particularly unhappy with the deserts, worst example I saw was some cream (from a can) sprayed into a bowl with sprinkles on top, mmmm tasty!
The worst, and most shocking thing about the hotel however was not the "give you a helping hand on your diet" meals, or the cave, sorry I mean room, but rather the staff. They are horrible. First example of this came when we annoyed the three receptionists by interrupting there conversation while we were trying to check in. This drew out the check in process which should have taken 2 mins, to 20 mins.
Another example came from the restaurant staff (in fact most of the examples come from the restaurant staff). My girlfriend asked one where the bread rolls were (in Spanish, so you can’t blame a language barrier) and the waitress just shrugged her shoulders and walked off. I could continue all day about the rudeness we found of these staff, and their preoccupation with anything other than customer service, but instead I’ll praise the bar-staff who were friendly, and actually made an effort to do the job well. Oh, and I must give a special mention to the lifeguard....the one with the ear-phones in, who sits in the corner, so that he can’t see you or hear your cries for help!
There were some good points to the hotel though, namely the pool area, (with the exception of DJ save-your-life) which was modern and very well kept, and also the proximity of the hotel to the beach and also the bus stop right outside the door.
My over all feeling about the Cambrils Princess is that its a falling 4star. In fact, some may think that it would struggle to keep a 3star rating, a hotel to be avoided!

I was on holiday in the Cambrils Princess in late May, there were 7 of us altogether. My first impression was of a clean and professional hotel.
We arrived at about 2.30 in the morning and were surprised to find that a cold buffet had been put on for us....a great start!.. then...the reception staff ignored us and even dealt with people behind us.(usually because they weren’t English).
The dining staff were the worst I have ever experienced...rude ignorant, and try to get a smile...no chance. Some night the queue to get in to the dining room was over 40 mins and when you got in half the dining room was already reserved with empty tables.
Then to the food, sometimes hot, warm, cold, bland, no kids menu available, the chef preparing the morning omelette uses a powdered formula....not fresh eggs, and those wanting a fried egg get served whilst omelette wanters have to wait.
We have an autistic son of 3 years and the only requirement we requested was that we had the same table each night in the dining room.
The rep Chris was fantastic as he even went out of his way and with his own money to arrange an interpreter to explain to the management and staff about the need for the same table....what a waste of time, could they get it right?...no, even offering us different tables, and their attitude was that they really couldn’t care less.
The life guard (or fun police) as we called him wouldn't let the kids have their inflatable’s in the pool.....only he did ,on the day we went to the beach and we came back to find a French couple with a child playing with an inflatable dolphin.
So we went upstairs to get our whale and was promptly told we couldn’t have it in the pool. Inflatable’s apparently aren’t allowed in the swimming pool, unless you are not English....and to rub salt in to the wound they sell the inflatable’s in the hotel shop!
The day time snack menu consisted of chips and toasties...hardly a 4 star menu.
The rooms are adequate, but our sheets on our babies bed which would need changing frequently just weren’t changed. The alleged satellite TV had 2 English channels which just aren’t worth paying out for a remote for.
Beware the lifts we got stuck twice, and we weren’t the only ones.
The entertainment consisted of two step dancing by the majority of the guests who were over 50...at least 4 times a week, which got started at about 10pm ,so we ventured in to Cambrils itself and after an hour’s walk still didn’t get to the centre.
We were actually closer to Salou, whose shops sold the tackiest rubbish at the highest rip off... and Salou whose motto seemed to be(according to the various sheets hung outside the local residential area)no to tourists!
And even those shops and stalls closed at 10pm....we walked down Salou one night and the only thing open were the ice cream shops, of which there are lots.
Does it look nice and clean...? Yes. Can you get brown...? Yes.
Do they like the English...? Or is it welcoming....?No.
And a word of advice do not use a tourist bus to get to Barcelona it costs about 40 Euros and 2./3 hours. Take the train from Salou 6 Euros and 1.5 hrs and drops you just outside the ramble and near to the aquarium. Barcelona is worth a visit take a whole day though.
After a year’s saving up the overall verdict ...what a massive disappointment!!
And on the way home... a short delay to Barcelona airport to drop off a crew member which meant our couple of hours flight turned into a nightmare of about 4 hrs plus, with a poor couple whose baby after having endured one takeoff and landing obviously couldn’t cope with another and the poor thing screamed for the total journey...which it wouldn’t have if we hadn’t landed and took off again....thanks Thomsons for the worst holiday ever.
