I stayed at the Los Patos as a single traveller for a week in September and could not find fault. I understand the hotel has undergone a recent refurbishment because it gave the appearance of a brand new hotel. The reception area was very smart and the staff courteous and professional. The room was very spacious and had a large and modern bathroom. The balcony overlooked the pool area and although there was a lot of development work going on around I did not find this off putting and most of the work should be near completion in a couple of months. There was a TV in the room but only one channel in English (Eurosport) and there was a maid service every day. The dining room was very large and clean and I thought the food was excellent better than most 4 star establishments in the area. There is no drinks service, but there is a bar where you can purchase drinks with your meal, and the staff are polite and helpful. The hotel pool area was very large as was the pool and there did not seem to be the usual frantic competition for loungers and there was also a large landscaped garden area. There is a poolside bar serving the usual snacks and drinks and the pool area is open 9am - 8pm. The bar in the hotel is open until midnight and entertainment is provided every evening. The hotel is located about a 5 - 10 minute walk to the beach and is surrounded by many bars and restaurants. All in all this was a very pleasant experience and I would not hesitate to recommend the Los Patos to my family and friends and I would most certainly stay here again.

Having just returned from this hotel after a week I can only say dont book it till you are sure building work is done! It was hell. having diggers, drills and banging going on less than a 100 yard from the pool! You couldnt even here yourself speak! The manager wasnt interested and reception staff very rude! So if your thinking of going to Benalmadena for a quiet relaxing holiday , then dont go there!

We stayed here for 10 nights, the hotel has been newly refurbished and looks quite modern compared to alot of other spanish hotels. Rooms are cleaned and fresh towels provided everyday, however we found the airconditioning in the rooms to be poor. The staff are very efficient and we were particulary impressed with the barmen as they were very cheery and eager to provide excellent service. Pool is a nice size, able to get drinks and snacks from the bar to have outside. Slight problem with flies around the pool which was particulary annoying early morning. Lots of building work going on around the hotel, which spoilt the view and could get quite noisy. 5 minute walk to the beach, and plenty of restaurents and bars near to the hotel. We enjoyed our stay here, and had lots of beach days, took a trip to Gibralter and Malaga and got to see Benalmadena on the bus tour.

the hotel is clean,70%spanish .air con in the rooms works now and again we booked two rooms both the same we have told reception four times to no joy.food fine pool clean but the use of glass around the pool suspect.
Just what was required...... from roxibear
Went for a week with Globespan. 3rd time in benalmadena, first time at a hotel. Hotel just newly refurbished and spotlessly clean. Pool very busy. Building site surrounds hotel but not noisy at all, and is away from the hotel access. Food what you would expect, plenty of choice at both lunch and breakfast and always fresh on the buffet bar. Hotel situated at the Torrequebrda end of Benalmadena and is on a slight hill. Beach just across the road. Entertainment most nights, not our cup of tea. Plenty bars and restaurants nearby and Paloma Park only 15 mins walk away. All in all pretty decent hotel and for the price you pay for half board well worth it. If you get the time take a tour to Gibraltar, worth it for the shopping alone but be careful of your allowances!!
Wonderful Hotel, Really Truly Brilliant! from mollydog112
I went to the Sol Patos, now Los Patos in 2002 and found it a good place to stay, and decided to visit again in June 06. I travelled with Direct Holidays, with me and my two children aged 12 and 6. Once we got there, we entered the nice reception and was quickly allocated a room, well furnished and very clean. We went for 10 days and we LOVED the pool. It was a large size, ranging from shallow to deep, nice temperature and a pool bar made it ideal to grab a bite to eat while still lying around the pool. I also found the entertainment to be exceptional for a 3 star. They firstly had waterpolo in the day, which my daughter loved, and a array of other daytime actuvies ie fottball, tennis, aerobics, crazy golf and a childrens club, which my younger daughter adored. At night, there was a childrens disco, then bingo with excellent prizes to be won, and then the main show of the evening- they were excellent-Parrot shows, dancing, comedy acts, magic acts but all proffesionals to a really high degree. The food was lovely, a wide choice for both Brekafast and Dinner and i didnt hear anyone complain ONCE!! The resort was great, full of restraunts and shops, crazy golf courses etc. The marina was only down the Promendade and well worth a visit! The beach was great, golen sands and gentlly shelving into the sea which is pefect for families. I will undoubtly be returning to Hotel Los Patos, it is extremly value for money and i can guarentee you will love it!
Really good food faultless rooms excellent from Arrozsin
We stayed here about 4 years ago and we had a really good holiday the rooms were spotless and the facilities were above average. Meal were excellent and on days we took a picnic instead of eating in they were the best packed lunches ever. I have tried to make a booking online at this Hotel fot next year but whenever I put dates in it comes back unavailable. Does anyone out there know if the hotel is still taking guests and when did anyone go there recently? I would like to know. We would like to re visit. PS At the time we went it was Sol Patos but it is the same Hotel being advertised as Los Patos. Thanks

we visited in june 2005. this hotel was nice, clean and staff friendly. rooms were a good size. food choice was excelent you will never go hungry!! bars and staff good pool was great sun loungers limited but the grassed area was great for sunbathing also shaded areas from the trees and lots of seating in the pool bar area. Didnt take my kids but they would have been kept amused good play area. good location great restaurants and supermarkets nearby very close to the beach.

stayed here in august with family,kids club a joke,age limit overlooked if you are spanish,pool too deep for kids.food awful had better in 2*.wont be returning ever again.hill enough to give angina attack and have to dodge cars all the time,put me off leaving hotel.our only hilight was visit to tivoli world.

Just returned from a weeks stay at Los Patos, good 3 star hotel, clean, food was varied, plenty of sunbeds but that is because of the time of year I expect, lovely gardens, good location for the beach but a long walk to Benalmadena Marina which is fantastic so worth the walk.
