My sister and I went to Los Patos in Benalmadena for the weekend! Flyglobespan from Glasgow including flights, coach transfer & half board accommodation was only £119 each!
The hotel was mostly older couples and a bit far from the main drag although only 5 minutes from the beach. The hotel was clean and very comfortable but the bathroom was a wee bit shabby. We had no chairs on our balcony and despite requests they never arrived.
However, the food was good and plentiful and the staff very pleasant. We couldn’t find the heated pool mentioned n the brochure but we did have a couple of bracing swims in the outdoor pool. The hotel is set in lovely gardens with a pond full of toads and frogs and a terrapin or two. The frog chorus at night is magical!
Unless you are very fussy you will enjoy Los Pinos. I would go back without hesitation - especially for under £120 for two nights HB, flights etc.

After reading the other review about this hotel I must agree that I had an excellent time at this hotel. Location was very ideal close to a nice beach with showers and plenty of sunloungers,
There was plenty of English/Irish : ) bars to choose from which were very entertaining and vibrant which suited us more than the hotel entertainment. The daily water polo was good fun as well. Hotel room was alright considering what we paid.
The only downside 2 the hotel was the amount of wild cats around the premises, but weren’t of any nuisance! Found that there was a good mix of nationalities there, which made things more interesting, suppose but was also mainly a Spanish orientated family destination, there was plenty of children/teenagers to mix with. Water Park close by so good day out.
Would recommend this hotel especially if on a budget, or you have little ones to consider. 9/10

We, as a party of five mature adults enjoyed ten wonderful days at the Los Patos. The hotel is situated at the top of a slight incline at the casino end of Benalmadena. It is set in magnificent grounds with out door bar and large swimming pool. The rooms were being refurbished to a good standard and were extremely comfortable and clean.
The food has an extensive variety to suit all tastes and was very well cooked and served buffet style. The staff were more than helpful at all times, all in all a very pleasant atmosphere. If I was to point out one small failing,we thought the entertainment was a little lacking. There was always something going on, but we felt it was aimed more for the Spanish locals, who seemed to appear for the evening shows. This, however was a minor problem and did not spoil our holiday.
The position of the hotel is very good, there are bars close by, and only 200 mtrs to the beautiful esplanade which leads to the magnificent marina,(a must to see).
This is one of our favourite resorts of all time, there is so much to see and do. In the past we have stayed at appartments, this is the first time at the Los Patos, but it will not be the last.

The hotel Los Patos is an overall good hotel.
The food is good and caters for all sorts of different tastes. The rooms might need a little updating but the bathroom is superb. Room Service is great and the location is good, just a 5 min walk from the gorgeous beach. Although I might mention this hotel is more for the older generation and they seem to love it here! Not many teenagers about and entertainment in the evening is pretty good. There is a lovely garden area and gorgeous views and a really nice pool area.
Overall I think this would be great for a family holiday and really enjoyed our weeks stay here.
