Hotel Description:

Nerja is situated 55 km from Malaga's international airport. With its famous natural monumets, the Balcony of Europe and the Nerja Caves it is the most important tourist town in the west of the Costa del Sol. Here the tourist and the craftsman, the 100 years old tavern and the modern restaurant or trendy disco, live side by side in the most natural way. A perfect combination of the peaceful Andalusian town with its winding white streets, and a cosmopolitan atmosphere.

" Nerja "

Stayed at Perla Marina - a very nice hotel, clean, great breakfast choice . Reception staff are very helpful and do speak good English . There is a pool area but we went to the beach as the pool didn't seem to get the sun.

There are a lot of restauarants up by the Balcon de Europa, these are very busy and expensive as this is a big tourist area.
As my Mum doesn't like to walk too far we at in the restaurants near the hotel
Restaurant Buenos Aires - delicious food - for all you meat eaters - from Argentinia. The Mixed Grill is awesome ! Try the daily meals as well equally good quality for just 8/9 euros . Majid the owner is very welcoming .
Cafe La Biznaga on the same street as the hotel serves a daily Tapas selection for 8 euros and its very tasty
The Indian nearby - very good
Made in Italy restaurant very good and very friendly service
The local bars are great for people watching and gligging the sangria.
A lovely resort with lots of shops up near the Balcon and terrific views

Advice: Like Cornwall with sun ! Its lovely !

Activities: Buenos Aires

Good for: Beach

" The Perla Marina is a 4 star hotel on... "

The Perla Marina is a 4 star hotel on the edge of Nerja which provides very good, comfortable and spotlessly clean accommodation. It's right on the beach front (choice of 2) which is a great location. We had B&B and found the choice at breakfast very comprehensive.

It takes just a few minutes to walk into the centre of Nerja. The staff here all speak good English and are friendly and helpful. When we were there in the first week of September they were a little understaffed but still managed to provide good service. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Nerja itself has a lot to offer. It has a certain charm and distinctive character with a wide variety of shops and services. We hired a car which we used as transport to and from Malaga airport ( about 1 hours drive) and found no other comparable resort within 40kms.

There are numerous restaurants, tapas bars, and places to eat with international and Spanish cuisine. Most people here seem to be a bit older or have families.

Overall we had an excellent relaxing holiday helped by fantastic weather on this part of the Costa del Sol.

" Very clean hotel, friendly staff.... "

Very clean hotel, friendly staff. Stayed in new complex, good breakfasts but evening meals were a bit of a letdown, poor choice and quality.

If going again I would go B&B only.

A shortage of sunbeds, only about 50 for the whole hotel, also a rooftop pool but unable to use the doors were always locked.

Situated in a very nice area, on the beach & close to centre of Nerja, plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.

" I went to my travel agent and told... "

I went to my travel agent and told her to book us a holiday in Spain, and she came up with the Perla Marina Hotel in Nerja. Well it was the best 2 weeks of our lives, we just fell in love with the hotel and Nerja.

The hotel staff couldn't have done enough for us, they went out of their way too for us. The room was just perfect, and the food well you couldn't have asked for better. There is something for everyone. That was the first time we went. The second time we went back it was self catering in the Apartments.

The hotel was really closed at that time for remodeling but again the staff that was there were just great to us. Then we went back a third time and stayed in the apartments again. Well because we had come to know all the staff and that we had gone back 3 times in almost a year they gave us a discount. Plus we became on first name base.

We plan to go back this year again but this time it is to look for a place to buy thee I Nerja. If anyone is thinking about a holiday and can't decide on where to stay I would recommend the Perla Marina to everyone they wouldn't have any regrets at all.

" The Perla Marina Hotel is ideally... "

The Perla Marina Hotel is ideally situated. It lies on a small shingle beach... and when I say lies on, I mean it.

Just walk 50m and you are on the beach. If you are more keen to find sandy beaches just carry your walk on 5 mins up the coast road. The hotel is also within 2mins walk of bars and restaurants and 15 mins walk to the Balcon de Europe. (For those not up to this, a taxi costs 5 Euros).

The hotel itself is very welcoming from the moment you enter the reception area. Decor is pleasant and the bright and all areas are clean. The rooms in the hotel are small but have everything you need. The dining area is light and airy, if small. The food is served buffet style and offers adequate range to choose from for a small 3* hotel. We did eat out on several occasions and food in local restaurants was cheap and good quality. The hotel also has a cafe bar, terrace bar serving snacks and a swimming pool. There is only limited space to sunbathe around the pool, but the hotel shares ground with Perla Marina Apartments which are next door and have beautiful gardens in front of the sea to sunbathe in.

I would certainly recommend the Perla Marina Hotel as a good quality small 3* hotel. As for the location, those wanting to stay in Nerja, I don’t think you could find a better position. Relaxing daytimes within easy access of the centre of town for evenings. The balcon de Europe has lots to do and is well worth a visit.

I would return to the Perla Marina Hotel again. However I did have a look around one of the Perla Marina Apartments and they were very nice. I am very tempted to return to the Perla Marina apartments in the Autumn....
