DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL
1 / 10
Feb 2012, gwgosu

This hotel looks great in photos - it is a old motel that has been remodeled. The first room we were taken to was dirty and services did not work. The help lives on-site. We saw people repairing bicycles, a firetruck and an ambulance our first night. We had children screaming and running outside the room at mid-night. This is not a 4 star hotel, and is a truck stop hotel at best. Do not look at the photos.
In the room, I killed a cockroach, felt the bed was "buggy" and am worried that I will have to "de-bug" all my clothes. The room does have new linens and a safe. (You need th safe to ensure you don't get all your things stolen.
Summary, This is a motel 6 with a paint job. It's loud, crude, and miserable.

Spent 10 days at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Was put off a little by some of the Reviews about the resort prior to our arrival. However we can honestly say that we had nothing to complain about. Our room was in Block 8, and it was always kept clean and tidy. Could not fault Room Service - fresh towels every day etc., if required. We found all the staff very courteous and helpful. The hotel was situated on International Drive and was only a short distance from the Theme Parks. Will definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

I stayed here with my mum and dad in August 2010 and it was superb. The staff were friendly, the hotel had lush gardens and nice swimming pools. We are coming back this year and staying here again. I strongly recommend this hotel!

We, like others, research our hotel on the internet before we go away and were a little worried by some of the reviews which people had left about the Wyndham. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon to find thankfully that none of these bad reviews were true. Our room had two queen size beds, 2 chairs, a table, tv cabinet, coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron + board, air con - virtually everything we needed. The bathroom was very clean and this was maintained throughout the whole of our stay. The beds were comfortable and much needed after long days at the parks. The hotel pools were good, with other activities including pool and table tennis tables. Nearby are the gift shop and delicious ice cream parlour. The Wyndham is set in lovely grounds with a lake. If you are going to Florida and want a central place to stay I would definately recommend the Wyndham.

Disappointing...

Having read all of the fantastic reviews here I was sure that this was going to be a great place to stay. However the hotel is a little passed it and in need of some updating. The bathroom wasn't nice, the internet didn't work and the safes are old. They assured me that they were beginning the process of renovation. Great location though.
The staff were friendly and accomodating but for how much we spent for the week we got a room that was not worth the price we paid. We had to change rooms because the electronic safe was dead and two days later the safe in our 2nd room died with our items inside. This required breaking into (took 3 hours and we couldn't go anywhere) and was then removed.
This wasn't so much of a problem, but what got to me was being told each day that someone was going to come and replace it and this person never came. Their excuses got worse and worse to the point where we found it pathetic and stopped asking. I really don't like being blatently lied to.

Just got back from a two week holiday...

Just got back from a two week holiday at this hotel.Travelled with Thomson Holidays.
Flight in very good and on time, picked up hire from Alamo, this was also smooth,no problems there, then drove down from Sanford airport to International drive.
The Wyndam is in a great location on i drive, not far from Disney and all the other parks. The free shuttle bus to Universal,Sea World, and Wet and wild was excellant,so easy just pick up outside reception. Also i trolley is great to get to malls or up and down i drive.
The hotel is sprawling, very laid back, you would not believe you are on i drive.
Lovely Swimming pools and hot tub surounded by pleasant landscaping lagoon et all.
Shop that sells Starbucks coffee, ice cream etc is close to main pool along with nice bar and snack cafe.
Please do not expect 4* rooms, more like 3* but quite adequate. Clean with good beds
shower, bath, and t.v.It is a .good idea to tip chamber maid each day,Service staff are taxed in America whether they get tipped or not.Our room was kept very clean and had plenty of clean towels.
Choose a 1st floor level room facing into lagoon /pool areas ,we found more pleasent
and better security, you need your swipe key to get into corridor. There is a safe in your room to but belongings als safe deposit box at reception.I would say Block 8,9,10,11,12,
would be good to stay in.We were in block 9.Reccomend you buy a cooler from nearest supermarket, there is no fridge, but ice machine just down the hall.
We hired a car handy to get to airport and to go to Disney.Used shuttle to Sea world and universal.Rememember this a nice hotel,But other people use it for buisness, not just holiday makers.
Great location for eating out and relaxing after the parks, nice touch from hotel includes free towels at poolside,Floats for kids and even sun cream, table tennis ,bar football and pool also.Swimming stays open till midnight, even though we stayed in accomadation close by we did not hear any noise.
I was not dissapointed with this hotel and would stay here again.Room are o.k.And any way on a trip like this you will not be in your room all day.Perkins,Denny`s,Ponderosa all good for food. Tgi friday, chigaco uno,and our favourite the olive garden excellant value.

Stayed here last 2 weeks in July - party of 2 adults and 2 children. Great location on I Drive, staff very helpful and friendly.
The rooms are well maintained, cleaning and fresh towels daily. The grounds are well kept and the pool areas are lovely. The breadfast in the hotel restaurant is not to be missed. Totally enjoyed our stay here and will be back again. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We had a fantastic 3 week holiday at the Wyndham Orlando. We got married at the Wyndham and could not have asked for a better hotel. The surroundings were stunning, the staff excellent, and the food was brilliant. We would definitely recommend this hotel if anyone was planning to get married in Florida.
The Wyndham is a perfect location close to the parks, places to eat and the shops. When you are sat in the pool bar you would never believe you were on the middle of I Drive!

We had a very enjoyable two week stay...

We had a very enjoyable two week stay on I Drive at the Wyndham Orlando Resort. It is a beautiful hotel in lovely grounds and has three big heated swimming pools.
The hotel is very well situated - within 20 minutes of the theme parks and also to the shopping malls. Would highly recommend Denny's for breakfast, which is just up the road, the food is excellent and the staff there cannot do enough for you.
We also ate at Brahams Breeze which is on I Drive and the food here was excellent. We also enjoyed a couple of games of crazy golf. Sadly, the downside we found was that the hotel room was very noisy.
You can hear everything, the people upstairs and doors banging. We had a very noisy Christmas weekend. We were in the middle of a large family from Japan who had six of the rooms beside us - they would come back late and night and make a lot of noise - also be warned, don't have your room by the ice machine as this tended to keep us up most of the night.
In all we only had about three nights good sleep other than that we were woken up for one reason or another due to the noise.
The rooms were not that well cleaned either. We came back three times to find no bath towels had been left - on each occasion we rang House Keeping but on each occasion it took them nearly 2 hours to come to our room with the bath towels!
Another day, we came home early in the afternoon from one of the theme parks (3.30 pm) as we had had an early start to find that our rooms had not been cleaned - the beds were still not made and the maids had not been in so we left and came back an hour later to find that the room had only just been cleaned!
Sadly, the noise and the rooms were a downside to this otherwise beautiful hotel. If you want a quiet hotel, I would not recommend this one.
However, the staff on reception and the staff in the gift shop were very friendly.

Great holiday. Hotel is the best we have ever been in. Florida is brill for all ages. Virgins free bee was great a free meal for all 6 of us in the hard rock cafe fab meal. Best parks were sea world and typhoon lagoon went twice to both.
Great places to eat and good value were the ponderosa for breakfast all you can eat buffet $3.99 fab full up till late afternoon great for days in parks and pm meals golden corrall buffet $7.99 you can’t move after that. Hotel staff were brill so kind great pools very clean free stuff was great towels blow up stuff for the kids even down to sun lotion free.
The rooms were huge massive TV maids were great nothing was too much trouble even when we needed more pillows at 11pm we got them. Anyone thinking of Florida Disney go for it you will remember it always.
