We have stayed in Calis a dozen times in the last 20 years, several of those in the Seketur Hotel. It had been getting run down, but the efforts to smarten up are visible. Rooms are clean, perhaps on the basic side, but TV, hair dryer, and airconditioning are provided.... more

We’re a family of four with two teenage boys and found the Seketur very good indeed. The location is great - right on the end of the main strip of bars/restaurants so you get the convenience without much of the noise. A lot of the rooms have seaviews. Rooms are fairly... more

A most wonderful holiday destination in Calis and more than adequate accommodation in the Seketur Hotel. Breakfast overlooking the sea was like heaven on earth. A wonderful selection of restaurants and snack bars are a short walk away. The beach in front of the hotel is... more

Weather was perfect. We agree with all the other good remarks about this hotel.
We were early in the season and the hotel was less than a quarter full, our wing had been refurbished.
Looking at the other hotels around this could not be bettered for its beach frontage and large pool.

Calis Beach has been our destination of choice for the previous 9 years. First impressions of the resort are misleading as they look decidedly rough and ready but the approaches to the resort have been improved over the years. On reaching the seafront you are faced with one... more

can only agree with Miss. O’Connor’s comments, especially Ramsay the waiter. Only criticism was that hotel is a bit shabby, but understand that re-furb is not too distant. If you do not need access suitable for wheelchair etc there are better hotels in Calis at the same... more

Absolutely superb
Just returned from 2 weeks at Calis. Stayed at the Seketur Hotel. Terrific!!! on all fronts. Good basic accomodation that was superbly clean - maid service every day, clean towels and sheets every 2 days. Staff couldn't do too much for you, really friendly and genuine. Hotel is in a great location overlooking the beach. Breakfast (traditional Turkish) which was fine, waiting staff were great. Bar again overlooking the beach - staff terrific. The staff at the hotel really made the holiday for us. But generally all the staff in the bars and restaurants were great. We will definately return to Calis and certainly to the Seketur. We went with Jewel in the Crown who again were a great holiday company and Iris the holiday rep was probably the best we've experienced.
Great Hotel - will visit agin
This was the 3rd time at the Seketur, and am not considering staying anywhere else in Calis. The hotel is about as close to the beach as you can get We think this is a great hotel, friendly and efficient staff, nice pool & pool bar, cafe bar set in very attractive gardens. The restaurant is in a great location, looking out on the beach/sea, great place to have your breakfast. The breakfast selection was pretty decent, though I only have cereal & toast personally - the coffee was good. The room was decent and clean and the maids were efficient. (always have been the 3 times weve been) The Sim bar manager looked after me when I had slight sunstroke, sorted me out very quick! she was extremely helpful and does a great cocktail too, so thanks to her. I've nothing bad to say about the Seketur whatsoever and will definitely be staying there again.
10 out of 10 for the Hotel Seketur!
Really enjoyed Calis. It is a lovely resort with spectacular sea views. The nearby town of Fethiye is very interesting. Hotel Seketur was great. All staff went out of their way to make us feel very welcome.from the first day to the last. Room were very clean, sheets and towels changed regularly. Turkish breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety and excellent service again. I really would recommend the hotel and we will definately be coming back.
brilliant
wonderful holiday!! brilliant location, staff very helpful and friendly and were definately going back next year!!!
Loved the Seketur and hope to go back soon
We have just come back from our stay at the Seketur Hotel, Calis Beach. We loved every minute of our stay and can't praise the staff enough. Mel on the Reception was especially helpful and friendly as was his helper who tried to teach me Turkish phrases every day! Pam, who ran the Sim Bar, was funny and always made us laugh. I can't remember seeing her without a smile on her face. What a character! If you read this review Pam then I haven't changed into Queenie - yet!!! The waiters in the restaurant were also helpful, friendly and polite as were the young guys who ran the pool bar. By the way the pool area was really nice and clean. Our room was quite nice and the maids kept it lovely and clean and we did have a sea view but we would have loved to have been on the adjoining block on the third floor because those rooms had magnificent sea views - maybe next time eh?!! The Sim Bar was in a lovely setting in beautiful gardens which had a nice water feature. Anyway, on to the restaurant. What better way to start the day eating breakfast and looking out to sea? It was absolutely gorgeous and if you were lucky enough to be in the restaurant around sunset time it was a sight to behold. One of the best sunsets ever (and that was most nights). Yes we can't wait to go back to the Seketur. Thank you to all the Staff for helping us have a lovely time at Calis.
If we return to Calis it would be to the Seketur
This was our 3rd visit to the Calis area and our first stay at the Seketur. I'd read several reviews saying the hotel was run down and in need of refurbishment but was pleasantly surprised with both our room and all the public areas. Our room was on the second floor of the block seperate to the main reception. The sea view from our balcony was one of the best views we've ever had and hearing the waves in the quiet of the night was lovely. Our room was cleaned every day and very thoroughly, the gardens were very pretty and all areas were exceptionally clean and tidy. We liked how the hotel was set out in a kind of complex, with the reception, pool, bar and restaurant all in their own areas. We spent many evenings in the Sim bar, the hotels open air bar where they serve divine cocktails! The restaurant is on a raised terrace which catches a lovely breeze and has amazing views of the famous Calis sunset. The only shame is the food wasn't great, breakfast was typically turkish and perfectly fine, but there was only one hot choice of meal each evening and was quite samey, but for the price we paid still very good value. We knew in advance we would eat out a lot of nights anyway so weren't too bothered, but would have spent more evening eating in just for the lovely atmosphere if the food had been better. All the staff were fantastic...friendly and helpful without being too full on or in your face. Would we return to the Seketur? Most definately!
The Best
Stayed in Seketur Hotel for one week in may 2009 and i have already now booked another trip to this hotel again in september. The staff is professionel .The hotel very clean and the atmosphere in this hotel is very homelike and cozy I can only give this hotel the best recommendation. Annemarie Hornshøj Hansen DK
Good place to be,but
Having used the Seketur in previous years, the last being 2006,I knew what to expect of the accomodation. Unfortunately the fabric of the hotel has been deteriorating for a very long time and although there has been redecoration and fitting new toilets/showers in the rooms since our last visit the owners are fighting a losing battle. The redecoration and fittings have been done cheaply and are begining to show signs of serious wear and deterioration already. The hotel has two buildings we were in the one closest to the seafront which was the one we occupied on two previous visits. During our visit this time there were three heavy storms overnight which resulted in a lot water getting into the corridors and rooms. The building leaks like a sieve and it looks as if it would be a major undertaking to make it wind and weatherproof. I doubt that it will continue to attract visitors from the UK unless extensive upgrading takes place. On the bright side the location is ideal,on the beach and on a dolmus route, the staff as always were excellent and the food good. I give a special mention to Mel on reception who is a very pleasant and helpful person. There are extensive grounds and if the money was available to rebuild or remodel then the Seketur could be a serious rival to the Mutlu at the other end of the beach. I would not return to the Seketur in its present condition nor could I recommend it.
Management response from Seketur 21 Sep 2009

I am so unhappy that we lost you, you are one of the nicest couples I met. Many of regular Calis Beach guests should know them well with their ever smiling faces. Please come visit us when you come to Calis even if you dont stay with us.

A nice basic hotel
The Seketur was not our original choice as we had booked the Mavruka hotel, but was later told by our travel agent (Holiday Click) that the hotel had been overbooked. We were then offered various hotels of a lower standard which I was extremely unhappy with, as I had already parted with my money, and the odd hotel which was of a similar standard had really bad reviews! So, we ended up going here as this was the only one available with a half decent review. We arrived at 4.00am in the morning and had to carry our cases up the stairs (there's no lift!), there were glasses in our room but no water, and we discovered the next morning that we had to buy our own water as there were no fridges in the hotel, so we couldn't keep our bottles cool. I asked the manager if we could keep our water in the cafe fridge and was told that he didn't think they would allow it. It also took nearly three hours before an iron was made available so we could iron our clothes. But did manage to hang on to it for most of the week. It all sounds very negative, but if I had to be positive about the hotel, I would say, the room we got was quite spacious as we had our two children and were given adjoining rooms. I would also like to say that the maids clean the rooms everyday and do a really good job of it, the staff in the hotel and in the Cafe/Sim bar are very nice and friendly, and we did end up making friends with the man at the reception desk who worked through the night, and Octay, a guy from Syria who worked in the Cafe/Sim bar. They really helped us get through the week at the hotel. The pool is also alot bigger in comparison to other hotel pools along that strip. And, of course the hotel is in a very good location if you love the beach. A word of warning - all of the shops and restaurants along he promenade are quite expensive and we were over charged a few times. If you walk half way down the promenade and where the road breaks turn left and go over the bridge, you will find lots of cheaper shops and restaurants. We had some lovely meals in Turkey, but wished we went half board as we ended up spending too much on food. Try the river taxi to Fethiye (its just at the end of the bridge I mentioned earlier) its really nice, but you'll find it cheaper to take the Dolmus if you want to economise. All in all we had a nice time in Turkey, and I would say that if you just want a basic but clean hotel then the Seketur hotel is the right choice, but don't expect any luxuries!! Enjoy.
Loved the Seketur
This hotel is relaxed, friendly staff and reception & very comfortable rooms. Excellent maid service daily with towels & sheets changed daily. It stands in extensive grounds at the far end of Calis but near enough to all restaurants , bars & shops. Has a breakfast room/restaurant on the promenade - what a way to start the day! The hotel stands in extensive grounds with large swimming pool, plenty of sunbeds and an excellent cafe/bar (the Sim Bar) right at the front for relaxing drinks., watching a sunset to die for. The best recommendation for this hotel is the number of return guests (of which we are 2), great to see old friends returning year after year. Any new guests can't wait to return. Easy access to local transport & day trips out. Recommend boat trips in the bay, the gorge at Saklikent, Oluz Denis, Kaya village, Dalyan etc etc!! Give it a try I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed. Dave & Margaret, Wetherby, West Yorkshire, U.K.
