Comments:  We have stayed at Pop Century resort before in 2005 and absolutely loved it, couldn't say anything bad about the place....this time...not so happy. Majority of the time, the beverage stations were shut down due to unknown servicing reasons.

The first week, my two children, myself and my husband became sick...the only thing we had drank was the hot chocolate from the machine, which seemed a bit strange tasting the night before we all got sick. The next morning the hot choc machines were all closed down for servicing???????? Don't normally get sick in USA!!! Turkey yes!

The staff were soooo friendly in 2005 but not so much this year? Why? Maybe pay reasons, but that doesn't mean that we all have to suffer does it? The beds were changed and clean, but there were nights when you were getting into bed and noticed that it was only the top sheet that had been smoothed over.

We were supposed to stay in Howard Johnson Maingate West, but chose to book Pop century due to BAD reviews of HOJO...I thought you couldn't go wrong if you had been there before.

Express checkout? What express checkout? we had to phone down twice to ask where it was, but were told they would send it up again....didn't turn up and so we ended up checking out at 10:30 instead of 8:30 as requested.

Come on Pop century...why have your standards slipped? We want the old Pop century back with all your smiling faces!! We were so excited about returning to you, but alas we never will again :(

Comments:  at pop century it was all great i really enjoyed this holiday and are defenitly saving up to go again. the best bit of the hotel was the pool. we went in the pool most days we also brought these mugs and you can refill them for free with a varity of diffrent choices. we went round and looked at all the giant character statues.we had our own transpotation which was even better it was kept clean and anyone who goes there or is looking then i advise you to leave the cleaners a tip the leave little towel animals. we went to the parks most days. we also saw a shop in pop century which had lots of diffrent things you can buy people presents there and buy yourself a present. the only problem was the food was a bit repetative but those people who do like burgers and pizzas every night then go there. overall i rate this a 10 and stick by it 100%.

Comments:  Me and my partner have just returned from our holiday at Pop, we stayed for 2 weeks between 3-17 of September.

Before we got there I did have reservations about this hotel as it is not a hotel we would normally choose due to colourful surroundings and kid orientated design, but the deal we got from Virgin was for this hotel only.

Before we went I did a little research and wanted to stay in close proximity to the reception without purchasing an upgraded room, but reception advised us the only room we could get was in the 80's building (Our room was opposite the pool on the second floor).

This position had good and bad points. The good point was that if you cut though the 80's car park we ended up at the bus stops. The bad point was that sometimes it was a little too far to go fill up our refillable mugs ( a must buy as you can get as much drink as you want).

The room itself was a nice size for both of us we felt the safe was a little small and we were disappointed not to have a fridge(you can get one for an extra charge of $10 a day) but the beds were comfortable and the room had a hairdryer and Mickey shampoo and soap- which was cool!

All the rooms in the hotel are non smoking which for us non smokers is nice. However during our holiday we found that people smoked all over the place and towards the end of our holiday we found the smoky smell coming into our bathroom vent. We made a complaint and were given an air purifier to get rid of the smell.

The food at the hotel is a little samey. Me and my boyfriend love fast food but we found that having burgers and fried chicken and pizza in the parks, that coming home and having it for dinner was a little too much for us.

The breakfast has lots of muffins and pastries on offer as well as hot food. We never tried the hot breakfast food as the queues are quite long to pay and I didn’t want my food to get cold.

Overall, we both felt that this hotel was really good as all we wanted to do at the end of the day was crash. This hotel offers all the benefits of staying in a Disney hotel but at a quarter of the price. We would definitely stay again but may be tempted to go for an upgrade as we thought you get a better selection of buses with fewer queuing times.

Comments:  We have stayed in the Disney hotels before but it was the first time staying at Pop Century resort. The hotel is huge with hundreds of rooms separated into theme blocks across the decades. Each block is in close proximity to the main food court and shop and 3 pools. There are also 2 laundry rooms with 10+ top loader washers and 10+ dryers. There is also the opportunity to buy washing powder for a reasonable price.

We especially like the Disney transport links on the buses to all the other parks and water parks. The buses come about every 20 minutes. As a bonus for staying in a Disney hotel you get the opportunity for 'Extra-Magic Hours' which is longer access to the parks after they've closed to the general public.

The staff were all extremely friendly but there was often a language barrier with some of the hotel employees. Every member of staff always greeted you with a smile. The food was nice but there wasn't much choice within the different sections. The queues were also ridiculously long as the cashiers were very slow and food would go cold whilst you were waiting. The tills also didn't work properly for a speedy service and a card transaction would take a good 5 minutes to complete. Staff appeared under trained on the tills.

In the parks, the queues were often big but they seemed to go very quickly. The fast pass option is great, because you can get a fast pass and come back at a later time to get onto the ride quicker. The food selection was also a lot wider in the parks and drinks stalls were readily available.

Overall, we had a great holiday. Although Pop Century is the 'economy' accommodation of the Disney resorts it is extremely clean and well kept. Plenty of towels are given each day as well as fresh toiletries and the beds are changed every other day. All Disney crew members are friendly and they make your holiday even more enjoyable.

Comments:  The 'Hill family' had their first big holiday at Disneyland in Florida a few weeks ago.

We had been to France for a few days a few years ago and were so amazed by it all we had the opportunity of a lifetime and went to Florida. It was awesome!! The hotel was brilliant!

The facilities were brilliant, the staff were brilliant, the rooms were great, and there were 3 pools! The Disney parks were absolutely amazing. The whole place was superbly clean and well looked after. The bus services from the hotels were every 10 mins or so to take you to all the different parks.

The food hall was great with a great choice of food, especially as I have a Gluten allergy and was worried I might find it hard, but I was pleasantly surprised. The weather was gorgeous.

We had a few storms but a bit of rain soon dried up. Discovery Cove was the highlight of our trip. We swam with dolphins and snorkelled all day in the coral reef with huge 10 ft rays! It was an experience of a lifetime, what more can I say!

We all feel sad that we have had to come home now but you never know, one day we'll go back. Many thanks to First Choice who sorted out everything for us!

Comments:  I have read reports that I felt amazed at saying this is a substandard hotel.

The staff were pleasant at all times of the day, the drivers of the buses taking you to the parks always seemed to be happy and jolly, one even gave a Disney quiz and singsong on the way to downtown Disney one night.

There are four lifeguards on at the pool at all times of the day.

The $18 mugs are a must, buy and for the rest of the holiday you don't pay for any drink at the pop.

Accommodation... No problems, what do you do in your room (you don't have time to be in your room) cleaned every day.

Food... The food court was just repetition fast food, and pricey, go to Kissimmee for breakfast, sizzling grill & ponderosa if you want all you can eat for £3.99 if you’re on a budget, or Perkins for something a little up market.

Downtown Disney is a must for food, earl of sandwich, planet Hollywood(try the steak), raglans(?) The Irish pub best fish and chips ever, and a nice pint of Guinness.

Staff... Ever helpful, but very forgetful, 1st day asked for a fridge, 5th day reminded them I needed a fridge,14th day booked out... No fridge. Oh well can't all be fantastic.

Water parks... Typhoon lagoon is better than blizzard beach, the only plus for blizzard beach is summit plummit ( fantastic ), the downside for blizzard beach was the floor in the main pool, my daughter grazed her knee on the floor and at 1st aid point there was about 15 kids with grazed knees arms and legs, the bottom of the main pool is like sandpaper, and the place was uncomfortably packed, typhoon lagoon on the other hand .. Can't be faulted.

We are going back next year and we are staying at the Pop Century.

The only thing we did wrong was try to pack in as much as possible during the day, wrong way to do it, water parks, or poolside during the day, parks later on when the temperature has dropped.

Watch out for the food court staff at SeaWorld...how can people be that rude and still be in employment.

Florida mall off international drive, it's a must.

Definitely going back.

Comments:  There is nothing quite like the magic of staying at a Disney hotel. Pop Century is an excellent hotel which offers a great experience. Firstly, you wander around the hotel in marvel at the props and sights - fantastic - huge phones, YO-YOs and giant jukeboxes. There are three pools situated beside different blocks.

Food is excellent and you have a great choice. The staff were great and so friendly and poilte.

However, the major bonus about staying at a Disney hotel is that you can enter the parks early and stay later. The FREE transport provided by Disney to all the parks is excellent and we never waited too long.

This hotel is great for families and won't break the bank.

Comments:  Flight facilities were excellent as expected from Virgin. Hotel was clean and full of activities for kids and great transport to the parks.

Breakfast was basic. Main problem was crowding at the pool. Some days it was very busy and difficult to relax with younger children. Plenty of characters stopping for autograph signings and Disney on the doorstep which was great.

Overall, great budget hotel, clean and fun. Florida the dream destination. This is one of Disney’s cheapest hotels yet still packed with fun. Pool great when not too busy.
