Myself and my family have been coming to this coast for 25-30 years and the flatotel is by far one of the nicest hotel's i've had the pleasure of staying in. We booked this as a last minute break and was very surprised when we arrived to see how nice the hotel was. We... more

Our family stayed at the Flatotel last week. We engaged three rooms for our family of eleven. Before chosing the Flatotel my wife read reviews of others who had stayed at the hotel. She was surprised to read of several instances of theft. However, because these reviews... more

English was not fluently understood and falteringly spoken. My Spanish poor but as it is the tongue of the EU I did expect it to be reasonably understood. It usually is, but not here. The Apartment block is well placed with easy access to the regular bus just outside. ... more

Nice apartments
We travelled in a party of 9 incl 3 children, and for that purpose the apartments at Flatotel were great. Very spacious, and each bed rum has an ensuite bathroom. We could easily sit 9 persons and have dinner together in the living room of one apartment. We had a fantastic veiw from the 9th floor. The hotel is some what used, and could need a touch up on the paint job ect, and the gameroom is not much to speak of. Nice cosy bar area, but the food in the restaurant cannot be reccomended. The pool and areas around were well kept, and very conveinient with a small supermarket inhouse, all though a bit expensive. The location is a bit remote, but there is easy acces to Benalmadena Marina and Torremolinos by the local bus that stops right outside the hotel. We had a rental car the entire week, and were very happy with in free parking garage at the hotel. Over-all very satisfied with Flatotel.
terrific spring break 2007
we stayed at the flatotel, benalmadena for 9 nights recently, we were rather worried by some previous comments about waiting for buses and hard walking to the main town. the hotel is right on the sea front and nearly all rooms have a seaview which is very unusual in a budget hotel. the room was cleaned to a high standard every day and new towels were provided, the kitchen in our 1 bedroom flat was basic, kettle, toaster, cooker and large fridge. It takes about 20 mins to walk to the main part of the town beach area, and we walked every day. The bus service is terrific . the hotel is actually the terminus for the 110. and the 120 from fuengirola also stops there , so you have a bus every 8 or 10 min to the town, it costs 80 cents, and runs till after midnite. good for getting home when you dont feel like walking we enjoyed the hotel very much and would stay there again
perfect
WONDERFULL a very spacious flat with 2 bedrooms. wonderfull sea view everything perfect, clean and very cheap for the quality recommended
loved the rooms
We stayed at the flatotel for Christms and New Year. We had a lovely studio room which was cleaned every day . Because we do not drive we had to rely on the bus service to get us into the centre of benalmadena to eat out as we are smokers and the resteraunt was nonsmoking. It is really quite in that area and because we like some entertainment in the evening we had to travel.I would rate this hotel very highly.
lovely spacious apartment
I booked this apartment with Travel Republic.co.uk. We needed 2 bedrooms so my son did'nt have to sleep on a sofa bed, as he had broken his femur in February this year. The apartment was huge, lots of wardrobes 2 lovely bathrooms 2 balconies 1 with a patio set , a kitchen with a washing machine the living room was huge aswell. It had a double sofa bed and 2 single sofa beds, a large dining table and 4 chairs, coffee table and a dresser . Oh and a TV with English channels. The whole apartment was very bright with lots of windows it also had air conditioning in the 2 bedrooms and living room. We had lovely views of the sea. The apartment was very clean, the maids were in every day even on a Sunday. There was a bus stop right outside the hotel which was handy and cheap as we did'nt hire a car. We walked into the main part of the resort, which took about 15-20 mins. The hotel was on a busy main road but could'nt hear it in the apartment unless you was on the balcony. There was always enough sunbeds round the pool and the snack bar was reasonable priced. The taxi from the Airport was 26 Euros.
Very average Hotel
I booked this hotel on the basis of reviews on Tripadvisor. It was rated no. 4 in Benalmadena. If this is the case, I dread to think what the condition of the other Benalmadena hotels is. The walls were so thin that we could hear everything being said in the next room, particularly the jolly bander at 2 to 3AM. The rooms were a good size and quite clean. However, the hotel as a whole needs a facelift. The staff were very friendly and this made up for the relatively poor condition of the hotel.
Our favourite hotel!
Last October was the second time we had stayed in this hotel as a family (2 adults, 2 teenagers) and we love it. Usually we try not to go back to the same place as we like to try something new, but we felt that other hotels would pale in comparison to the Flatotel. The main appeal is the sheer size and quality of the rooms - they really are like proper flats! Rooms had two balconies, stunning views, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, two dressing rooms, hallway, and seperate kitchen, both times we stayed. Staff in hotel were always very helpful and it even has its own supermarket. Bar was great with a happy hour every evening, we only ate in the restaraunt once as we were self-catering but we were pleased with our meal. Perhaps the only downside is that the hotel is quite far from the centre of town, but if you have the time to walk its a beautiful stroll along the seafront, and if not there are regular cheap buses which stop right outside the hotel. Can't recommend this hotel enough! Also, for anyone who has never been to Benalmadena, it is a brilliant, lively town with plenty of shops, bars, restaraunts and entertainment even in october time. The selwo marina is great for kids. There's something for everyone here and I'm happy that my 18 year old daughter is planning to go back with her friends this summer as I know its a safe and pleasant area.
Quite impressed, and the most comforable bed ever.
The Flathotel International is situated on the N-340A coast road, approx 5 km West of the Benalmadena Marina. It overlooks a beach, and there is access via a tunnel under the main road. We had difficulties finding the place, because we relied on the map provided by Expedia - to our cost, the pinpoint shown must be based on a postcode and not the actual street address, so don't ever rely on these. Anyway, one hour and a lot of wasted driving later, we checked in. It has a free garage for the car, which was mostly undercover. The hotel room was more like an apartment, as we paid about UK£30 and had upgraded to a larger room. Living room & kitchen one side, bedroom & bathroom the other. Nice and clean, and I have to say, some of the most comfortable beds I have slept on for some time. The hotel had a bar downstairs, and a small supermarket (open from 9am to 8pm). If you venture out at night, the immediate area seems a little quiet, but there is a nice bar overlooking the beach within 2 mins walk (come out of the hotel, turn right, walk over the large roundabout, and there it is). There is also a bus stop by the hotel and I understand the bus service is quite good. In summary, we liked the hotel; the staff were friendly, the rooms clean, and felt it was very good value for money.
wonderfull
we stayed at this hotel oct 2005 the staff are wonderull the rooms wonderfull just take our advise, try for yourself, are we going back, yes for 2 wonderfull weeks in sept,
excellent rooms
Three adults stayed in a 1 bedroomed apartment and found that we had plenty of room although one adult had the sofa bed to sleep one which wasn't the best for comfort but show me one that is! It had a fully fitted kitchen with washing machine so excellent for families and those who enjoy eating in. Balcony was quite small but the apartment had lot's of windows that let in a lot of air and light. Pool area was ok. We naver had a problem with the sunbeds etc but the pool bar never opened. (we stayed end of sept 04) The complex has a small supermarket which closes for siesta however there is a much larger supermarket down the road. Tkes about ten minutes to walk there so take help or a taxi if your doing a big shop. Not in the town of Benalmadena Costa but only a short bus ride away (bus stop right outside) and didn't cost a lot for a taxi. Restaurant not the best neither the bar so head into town to eat and drink out. Small beach opposite but has no facilities so needed to head to main beach.
