Myself and my family have been coming to this coast for 25-30 years and the flatotel is by far one of the nicest hotel's i've had the pleasure of staying in.
We booked this as a last minute break and was very surprised when we arrived to see how nice the hotel was. We arrived at about 2pm on the 20th November and even though it says you can't check in til 5pm we were allowed.
Throughout our the staff were always willing to help and always had a smile on there faces.
The supermarket in the hotel is a bit expensive but what do you expect off a hotel supermarket. There is a Mercadona about a 20 minute walk or you can get the bus there is a little circular bus but that only comes every half an hour and that is from the orange bus stop by the golf course railings. There is other buses that stop outside the hotel. The 110 stops outside and then turns back along the coast towards torremilnos and malaga and the other bus is the 120 that goes from torremilinos past the flatotel and carries on to Fuenigerola.
We really enjoyed are atay and would reccommend this hotel to people.

Our family stayed at the Flatotel last week. We engaged three rooms for our family of eleven. Before chosing the Flatotel my wife read reviews of others who had stayed at the hotel. She was surprised to read of several instances of theft. However, because these reviews were rather old she surmised that these situations were taken care of by the management and this hotel with its apartment set-up was ideal for our family. Although the hotel is not in the center of things, we were quite satisfied with the rooms and view. The restaurant is not so great and the desk was helpful but uninformed for the most part. Have your planning done before your arrive.
The day before we were to depart from the hotel my daughter-in-law noticed her bracelet was missing. My wife went to the desk and told the man on duty. He referred her to a middle aged woman who appeared to be either the manager or the owner. Upon hearing the about the incident she inquired whether the bracelet was gold. My wife indicated that it was silver. She said she couldn't imagine why someone would take a silver bracelet. My wife referred her to reviews that she had read on the internet about things being taken from guest's rooms. The woman indicated that she was unaware of these reviews and would check on them. My daughter also noted that some of her teenage daughter's clothes that she had especially purchased for the trip were missing.
I am a seasoned traveler (I have even written a book on third world travel) and have never encountered a situation where this kind of conduct was done by staff (even in the poorest of countries). More surprising is that these incidents seem to be blatantly ignored by management. For that reason, we cannot recommend this hotel.

Just back from our third visit to Flatotel for our annual golf trip. Unfortuantely our trip was marred by money getting stolen from our room. This was done by a member of staff as everything was locked when we left.
The apartments at the Flatotel are superb and are always kept spotless. You also have a daily change of towels if needed...... JUST WATCH YOUR CASH.

Beautiful spacious apartments for myself, husband, 18 year old, 16 year old, 12 year old and 6 month baby. (Cot chargable at 8 euros per night). We had a 2 bedroomed apartment on the 5th floor. Stunning views from the 2 balconies overlooking the sea and the golf course. 2 bathrooms, air conditioning in each room, proper ironing board and iron. Kitchen small but adequate with good equipment including a washing machine and proper oven with 4 ring hob (if you wanted to cook). Some staff friendly, others not so helpful.
Bar and pool does not open until 11.00 a.m. but that suited us as there were always plenty of sunbeds when you went down. Pool area only small but adequate with a separate pool for the baby with warm water!
Down side was that it was out on a limb with no restaurants or bars in the near vicinity. The town centre is a good 20 min to half hour walk. Regular bus service right outside the apartments at 1 euro 15 each person each way (mounted up for us lot going there and back once or even twice a day if the kids wanted to go into the town for something to eat). Taxis only seat 4 people so it would have meant us taking 2 taxis all the time. No entertaintment around the pool for the kids and no evening entertainment. Bar on sight but closed at 12.30 a.m. Drinks at the pool bar extremely expensive - suggest you go to the on site shop and buy cans of beer at 1 euro per can as opposed to 3 euro 25 at the pool bar - everyone seemed to be doing the same thing!
Overall, an enjoyable holiday with adequate facilities but too far out and not much going on.

My self and my boyfriend arrived at the appartment for a 3 day break. The appartment was clean and contained all the facilities for a self careting holiday!! The staff were very frienly and happy to help us. There was an onsite shop which contained everything that u might need. The pool area was very clean and child friendly. there was only one down side to our holiday which had nothing to do with the appartment its self but it was that we were about a 40min walk for the night life and main shops. This problem was soon overcome by finding out that a short Taxi ride would only cost 8 Euros. We had a fantastic time and we have said that we will be returning.

Family of 5 children 8,6 & 3.
Hotel room was fantastic and clean. We had a 1 bed apt and the terrace was huge. Swimming pool was nice and clean and the kids enjoyed being around there, a bouncy castle and mini golf too(3 euros a game)!! Staff friendly. Supermarket open 9-3 and 4-9 and is ok, you can get most stuff but best to go to Dia near burger king!
Downside, no entertainment for anybody in the evening, tele on in bar with spanish programmes, a little games room at the other end of the hotel with nothing in it that worked. Miles away from anywhere but good bus service to town but main road a rat race.
Luckily we had a few english channels so we stopped in most nights and watched rubbish TV...on holiday!!!
Great for adults, groups but not for children if you want to keep them entertained

English was not fluently understood and falteringly spoken. My Spanish poor but as it is the tongue of the EU I did expect it to be reasonably understood. It usually is, but not here.
The Apartment block is well placed with easy access to the regular bus just outside. The car park was inadequate and only half of the open area at the front of the hotel available for some reason.
When I booked in, the receptionist wanted to keep my and others' passports - 'they would be ready for collection in 10 mins if I would like to come back'. I did not leave them as it is never advisable to leave them with anyone unless they are signed for.
Our apartment was very spacious and we enjoyed it generally. The kitchen was not very well equipped with utensils and no wine glasses. The handle broke off the washing machine. Replacement was speedy - apparently because it 'happens all the time'. The air conditioners for each room all vented onto my balcony (we had 2 balconies and 3 air conditioners) consequently I had to keep the door shut as the heat and stale air was not very nice. Lovely view from top floor, sea and golf course. Glad I was on top floor as noise would have been a problem if I had been sandwiched. Children running around is not my favourite. The on-site shop was good, no other shops close by.
The biggest dissappointment for me was the fact that I left three items in the room. I phoned them when I realised - some days later and was told that something had been found and that I had to send an envelope for it to be posted back to me. As that would be very costly I asked them to hold them (I described the items and no one could understand me apparently) and they would be collected personally. When my representative arrived, no one knew anything about it, my items were not found they said. It amounted to approx £100.00 worth of good quality and as new condition items.
