Overall nice stay. Hotel quite far from Magic Kingdom etc. but as a hotel guest parking was free at parks, so it often was easier driving to destination, rather than getting the free transportation. Free transportation easy to locate and navigate although could be tedious... more

I had always dreamed of going to America and in particular Disney, believe it or not I was 30 before I got there. I almost thought I would never get there. As the date of the holiday got nearer I began to think that maybe I was a little too old to be going, but deep down I... more

Fantastic holiday from the start. Had decided not to have a car, transfers were good and Disney buses frequent to all parks with no more than 15 mins journey time. Hotel clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Worth buying resort mug and then having free refills which... more

Great value Disney resort. Rooms are big compared to UK room sizes. The resort is very clean, room service is reliable & they do a good job, especially if you leave a small tip. Two swimming pools, plenty of sun beds, and within walking distance to the All Star Sport & All... more

The hotel was amazing with a fantastic atmosphere based on all the favourite Disney characters. The pool nearest our hotel room was set on the mighty ducks and the main pool was home to Mickey from Fantasia who shot water from his fingers. The main hall of the hotel held... more

Great Vacation
I have to say that we had an outstanding vacation in April 2003. We stayed at Disney's Allstar Movies Resort. We had an awesome room, right near the pool area. The food was very good, food court crowded at times, but the lines moved quick. The shuttle buses to the parks arrived in a timely manner. The resort was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. Allstar Resorts are great for families. We had stayed at the Allstar Sports two years ago, and that was great also.
Slightly better than Days Inns
I stayed at this hotel for only 4 nights thank god! I have stayed at almost every disney hotel and am a vacation club member so when I say there is something BETTER on their property believe me! Nothing magical here unless you like unprying your sneakers from the sticky floors in the food courts. Every day they closed the pools because someone POOPED in them! It was so gross. One 95 degree day a big pile of it laid right on the "piano keys" entrance to the pool for over 3 hours I counted. People are pigs no doubt but to see that at Disney? We stayed in May 2000 and had a forest fire's smoke totally engulf the property one night. A scary sight. Our safe key was missing and I gave up asking after the 4th night to get one. Once they sent a non-english speaking maintenance "kid" who came to change a light bulb instead of provide the missing safe key. Check in is a nightmare. All the "trainees" are at this resort. SLOW didn't describe our 1.5 hour wait! Basically no service, crowded buses, yucky food courts, dirty pools, lack of english speaking cast members makes me give this "resort" a thumbs down at $100 a night.
BAD EXPERIENCE DISTRUSTFUL MANAGER
Stayed ther in March 2003....Room very cheap looking, dark, the bedspreads didn't even fit the beds. dirty, crowded, asked for a front building when booked, ultimately bookd at the farthest building. The food was horrible and the court was always crowded. The worst part was our key cards never worked in the hotel or the parks. It was a hassle every day we were there. Management tried to acccomodate us by giving us passes good for 10 years for all the park anytime and that they were RE_USABLE! Turns out I had a friend go to Disney with these passes they were told they were only good for one day. Very bad experience...I would never ever stay there again!
not so great
Very crowded buses, long lines in the food court, burn hole in our comforter. Didn't get wash cloths. No hair dryer. Spend the money and stay in at least a moderate resort.
Awsome trip
AWSOME TRIP... everything about our trip was fantastic. Disney employees bend over backward to accomodate their vacationers. We spent 7 nights at the All-star Movie resort ( 1st floor, no steps) and paid extra to be close to the cafeteria, pool, and transportation. It was well worth it. We took 3 pair of shoes and traded off each day. That still didn't matter. By the end of each day, our feet were killing us. Not much you can do about that if you are on them for 12 hours. We found that buying meals inside the diners and restaurants are cheaper than paying for a hot dog and/or hamburger and fries seperately. Our meals usually costs us around $7.50 per meal, but they were delicious and filling. Don't think we ever ate a bad meal anywhere in the park. All drinks were $2.50. I suggest that if you have the hopper pass, that you do 2 days of the "walking parks" and one day at the swimming park, then go back to the "walking parks". This way, you can give your feet a much deserved rest. One thing we found out that was really helpful was every gift shop in the park will send your purchase to your room so you don't have to walk around with it all day or go back to your locker. This would have been great for me, because I was buying Christmas ornaments from each theme park and one of them broke as I carried it around the park. This service is FREE and as long as you aren't checking out the following day, you can take advantage of this. So, buy those souveniors!! Now... the rooms at the All Star Movie... were clean and just perfect for the 2 of us. They didn't have all the ammenities as some, but they had a shampoo and body wash dispenser in the shower, a free safe for your valuables, and if you didn't want anyone in your room to clean it, they left a bag of clean towels and new soap on your door. We actually had to hand a bag back because we had too many towels. We didn't need our room cleaned but once during our stay. I had to iron my outfit for the evening and called up the front desk. It was at my room in 10 minutes. They allowed me to keep it for the remainder of my vacation. The pool was great... there were 2 pools at the All-Star Movie. They had an outdoor bar next to the pool for evening drinks. They also had an ice machine and pop machine. Laundry service was also available, but was very crowded on the day I went there, so I put the clothes in the machine and went back to my room. ( Make sure to time it when the clothes will be finished or people will remove them and you will come back to find all your clothes laid out on the table) The "All-Star" bus picked us up last and dropped us off last. But we only had to stand up in the bus twice during our entire trip. The bus ran every 20 minutes. We made reservations for the Hoop Dee Doo diner show. A MUST for anyone wanting great food and awsome entertainment. We made the reservation about 3 months ahead of time and sat front center. Couldn't ask for a better table or better time. Over all, our vacation was a 10+ and we can't wait to go back. After our return, we did find out that we didn't see everything that we should have seen. But we won't miss it on our next trip. And the "All Star" resort is where we will stay. For the money, it's the best.
great value for all included!
we stayed at the movie resort for 2 weeks, 24th may-7th of june. there was just myself and my 2 children ages 13 and 9. This was an ideal place to be for transport to all the disney parks whatever time of the day you wished to go, we had a fantastic deal with the unlimited disney tickets with this holiday, which in fact save us a lot of money buying the tickets separately. We felt free to go to whatever park for as many times as we liked. The only downside is when you wish to go outside the disney resort an you are not driving, the transport was expensive each time, although i must say very efficient. Our room was beautiful, clean and service was very good, i was impressed with the cleanliness, not only with the room but also the poolside etc, but coming from the uk you really notice the difference of how efficient the USA is with all these aspects! The food hall was ok rather expensive and the same food every day which could be rather boring! although we did eat out in the disney parks, which was much nicer. We would definately stay here again.
The best vacation ever!
We stayed from 5/12-5/17 at the Movies resort, Buzz Lightyear wing, and had THE best stay ever in a hotel! The hotel provides the complete experience for a Disney vacation. I requested an ironing board and hair dryer from the front desk and they were there in minutes. The staff at the hotel are very friendly, helpful, and extend the magical experience for anyone even just happening by. The dining area offers a variety of foods that young children and adults like. I would recommend that you buy the hotel mug for free refills on water and soft drinks. The refills don't come for milk :(. The statues in the courtyard were a big hit with the whole family!
Lots of Fun!!
I have stayed at this resort twice. Once with friends and once with my four year old son. It was lots of fun! There is so much for children to do including a playground; fun, decorated pools, and even a small movie theatre in the lobby that shows old Disney cartoons. The oversized characters from Disney films is also a big hit! The food court is great, offering a variety of foods at reasonable prices. Another perk, you buy a souvenir cup for $8.00 and you get free drinks the rest of your stay. The rooms may be smaller than other Disney resorts, but they are still loads of fun! We plan on staying here again on our next family vacation in October.
Down At Disney
Took a trip during spring break 2002 with our two kids ages 7 & 9. We stayed at this hotel for one night because we still had a day at disney left from a previous trip we had taken a year or so before. We stayed off property the first time and was just as convenient and pleasurable as this trip was. You had to walk a mile to get to your room which was not as nice as a budget motel. After driving all day we decided to go to Downtown Disney for a bite to eat after we checked in. We decided to ride the hotel's provided transportation which took forever to pick us up. We finally arrived at dtd and after walking for what seemed like hours we finally ended up eating at MdDonalds since all of the main eaterys had at least an hour and a half wait. The next day we headed out to The Magic Kingdom which once we got there and in the park, it was unbearable. The kids were whining only after an hour of being there, so we decided to head on out and go somewhere where we could relax and not have to worry about heat and crowds. This hotel was okay, but you can stay close by without having to pay an arm and a leg for the same or better accomodations. Mickey's a rat you know!
Very 'Motel 6' for over $100/NIGHT
We were very disappointed in the resort. The rooms were very cheaply decorated and had NO ammenities that even a very cheap motel elsewhere always have. We had to ask for plastic bags to put laundry in and our beds were made with the towels still under the covers. We stayed there for the early entry and bus service and were pleased with these services, but never expected anything Disney to be so low class.
