Just been on the worst week of my life to Benidorm. Stayed here at the Flamingo, the only good thing was it was central to everything. The place had Stag and Hen partys arriving all the time at least three a day our week, sometimes 30 strong. If you want to sleep, get it in... more

Apr 2011, unhappy!

This experience was appauling and one which should never be repeated. Travelling with a 4 month old you would of thought that they could find a room within the 21 floors that does not have extremely drunk stags returning home at 5am but no, this is what we had to endure.The... more

where were the cleaners!!!
The cleaner we never saw, we got clean towels once that was the only downfall. The reception guys were great. We didnt spend too much time (unless sleeping) in the hotel but as far as i can tell the entertainment was great for families. I left my mobile phone in the room on the last day, so gave the receptionist my address so hoping they will forward it on for me.
Brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!
We went to Benidorm at the end of March and were very very nervous about the hotel after everything we had read on the net. We chose the hotel because it has a winters kids club. Lets start with the kids club - my 10 year old and 4 year old really didn't want to go and complained all the way there. After the first session with Vicky and Kerri - they couldn't wait to go back. They had to miss a session as we had plans to go somewhere else and they actually complained about NOT going. We couldn't believe it. The two girls were absolutely fantastic!! The hotel is very basic but we really didn't need anything more than a place to put our heads down at night. The rooms were pleasant and very adequate. The bath and showers are amazing - I don't even have that at home. The TV is pay as you go(1E per hour)which was fine. We weren't in Spain to watch tv and when the kids did - for the price -it was great. Be warned - it only takes 1E coins otherwise it doesn't work. Everytime something went wrong in the room (which was mainly my 4 year old feeding the tv any coin he could find), we would contact reception and within 5 minutes somebody had sorted out the problem. We would without doubt go back to the Playa anytime. The entertainment in the hotel is a little boring and tame but we did have a brilliant comic in one night. The food in the hotel is really not that bad either. Obviously it is not the gourmet meal you would get at some other restaurants. It was fine for something quick to eat and the service was great. We found all the staff to be exceptionally friendly and willing to go the extra mile for us at all times of the day or night. I think that the UK workforce could learn something from the Spanish (and I work in the hospitality industry and am therefore very critical). The pool outside was still a little chilly but we were there at the end of March - the indoor pool was wonderful. All in all - we had problems with Thompsons - who we would NEVER book a holiday with again - but the hotel and staff redeemed all the mess ups made by Thompsons. Thank you to all at the Flamingo Playa - You guys don't deserve the bad crits that you have had.
Loved it, going back again!
I loved this hotel. It was basic, had everything i needed and was very clean. The rooms are basic, apartment style. Theres a pool side bar with very friendly bar men, one of them will only usually smile if your smiling. Entertainment was ok, wasnt the best part of the holiday i must say, best suited for children i would say. Down the road from this hotel you have the Titanic bar which sells food and has things like pool there, also close shops and cafes. Doesnt take long to get to all the big shops and the beach, about 15minutes i would say. Great hotel, and in June im going with my friends again! i hope this helped anyone who is thinking of going to this hotel. Suited for all the family, maybe not for the elderly as this hotel is on slope.
great basic cheap apartment
just came home from benidorm. we choose the flamingo playa because it was the only accommodation with a kids club available in the winter (fab by the way if u have kids). rooms were clean and basic but for what we paid we cant complain. cant comment on the complexs food or evening entertainment because we went along to the monaco hotel every night for we had other family members stopping there. only minor fault i can pick is that the apartment is quite a distance from the centre of benidorm and its based at the top of the yellow brick road (i wouldnt like to walk up it on my own).
Best girls hol ever!
This hotel was great. I went with 5 other girl mates and we really enjoyed our stay. It was a really nice atmosphere from as soon as we got there. The strip/square, is good for our drunken nights out but also just off the square there is a bar called 'Jokers' which was really good. However, party people, avoid the Hippodrome at all costs. Music is too loud and really weird local men. The hotel food wasn't bad actually. But Titanic bar was nice as was the fish&chip shop down the road and a bar called 'Cayman bar and grill' along the seafront was a great place for a proper dinner. The pool was realy cold, which was a nice change from the burning heat! The beach is nice too, just watch out for the slippery rocks. The part we stayed in (the smaller block) was a lot more for teenagers looking to go clubbin. Whereas the other bigger block seemed mor for families. All in all the holiday was great. We met some really nice people and everyone was really friendly. Except the security guard who speaks hardly any english and gets angry about everything really! Oh and talk to ur rep if u want to go out and do stuff cos they're good at sorting that out.
fab aparthotel
i have just came bk from benidorm and it was great. i have been to benidorm the past 3 years and this was the best as i stayed here. the bar staff are great and will be a miss.
Great Hotel
I am just about to leave Benidorm & the flamingo Playa as i write this. The hotel is fantastic, it´s the right distance away from the "square" so not much noise (except some guests but you get that all over the world). Don´t believe the reviews on poor Paco he is very good at his job & like the rest of the staff starts very early & go home even earlier (wee small hours). This is my 3rd time in Benidrom & knew i had to show my fiance the nicest parts of Benidorm. So i had alot of responsibilty on my wee shoulders. I would strongly recommend this hotel for folk who want to sample benidorms many delights with a good nights sleep. Well good luck if you decide to stay at this hotel, i am confident you will have a great time,my fiance has had a wonderful time (She´s a first time benidormer).
What a relief!
Read some reviews on other sites which were pretty scathing. Then read here and this put my mind at ease. Yet again TA reviews were very accurate. This hotel was absolutely fine. Central location, clean decent facilities. ONLY CAVEAT- I would not fancy it in the height of the summer season (but that applies to all of Benidorm) and and try and get an 01 or 06 room at either end of the corridor as it cuts down noise.
were not to eat in Benidorm
we had a good holiday at the flamingo. but decided to eat out one lunchtime and went to the Admiral Nelson just down the road. We had the worsed steak that we have ever had
Great Place if you dont want the trimmings
Stayed here Jan 2005 had a brill time, the staff are very very helpful, Stayed in the Annex, the rooms are basic but very clean, thought that rooms "A" & "C" were really good but not too keen on the "B" rooms. This is the second time of staying there and will definetly stay again.
