Flamingo Playa Apartments Reviews
" We have just come back from the... "
Submitted By: Mrs M Batham-tomkinsThe staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you, they all speak English and all the rooms now have air conditioning for a small fee (3 euros a day). The apartments are spotless and are cleaned once a week, but bedding can be requested at anytime.
I went with my mum and dad who are both in their 60's, and my husband and 2 children aged 16 and 2, and they all had a fantastic time.
I would highly recommend Flamingo Playa.

Submitted By: Miss S CottonOnly 10 min walk to beach and nightlife. Be careful at the parrot show in hotel they just place the parrots on you, take your picture then ask for 10 euros before you can say no thanks.
Only bad thing is that stupid people throw coins into the pool from their balcony (idiots!).

Submitted By: Mr M VincentThis was not a problem at all, however you couldn't even get drinks at the hotel we slept in unless we paid for them.
The entertainment was very poor and the lifts were very slow and hot. Overall though, we had a fantastic time.
The people were very friendly and helpful.
We booked as a last minute deal and was happy, but would look for something closer to the beach if we went to Benidorm again and booked in advance.

Submitted By: Miss J FergusonThe food at the hotel was fabulous. Big range and selection. Swimming pools very clean and good quality. The staff are both very friendly and helpful.
We were all inclusive and might I say they were very generous in the amount of alcohol you get in drinks. Much enjoyed the holiday. The Flamingo Playa is more a self catering hotel, however the Flamingo Benidorm is across the road and that is where you have your food, drink etc. if you are all inclusive.
The hotel/apartments are also about a few minutes walking distance from the main strip full of many pubs, Irish bars, family welcoming pubs etc and a little further straight down, is the beach where you have opportunities for Bannana Boating and Paragliding. A much enjoyed holiday. Weather was brilliant.
Will definitely be going again and staying at the same hotel.
" First time in Benidorm would never go... "
Submitted By: Miss S PageThe apartments were very dated, we were stuck on the 17th floor with a stag party of about 20 men on either side of us not very family friendly which was one of the only things we asked for.
One of the evenings the groom to be had nothing on but a thong and looked disgusting there were children everywhere. Two girls were mugged just outside of the apartments and very little was done about it.
We found the staff at the bar area great fun they were always smiling and joking around with us. Not the worst place we've ever stayed but definitely not the best.

Submitted By: Mr D WrightHad to pay £80.00 deposit on room which was expected anyway. We were put on the 21st floor which again was ok.
The problems started when we got in the room it was filthy, looked as if it hadn’t been dusted for 6 months. Couldn’t use wardrobes as your clothes came out covered in dust.
Right outside the balcony they are building 2 new hotels which is ok at weekends but very noisy from 7 am in week.
I understand these apartments are being refurbished at the moment (summer 2007) so expect lots of noise.
Good location just 5 mins walk to square area 4 pubs n clubs and good pub food round corner (titanic).

Submitted By: Miss L JonesThe Flamingo Playa had only just opened when we arrived (22nd May) we (me and my family) were the first guests to stay their season.
When we got to the Flamingo Playa, after making fools of ourselves trying to check into The Flamingo Benidorm, were the coach driver dropped us off, we found that the hotel was still a building site.
As you walked in the main entrance you had to be quick because there were men abseiling down the building painting, and as they were painting loads of it was hitting the floor outside the entrance. (This was happening everyday whilst we stayed there, 11days).
The staff on reception were very friendly and polite, and the kid’s reps were great.
Our room was nice and clean when we arrived but I think the cleaners could have done a better job, big clumps of dust were everywhere, and they even managed to get into the cases we found out when we unpacked.
I found a few silver fish in the room and in the bedding when I made the beds up on the first day.
The lifts were very slow and they got stuck a lot.
In the Thomson book it said there were 2 pools and an indoor 1, we never found the indoor one! And the second one was still being built!
There was no entertainment and the bar staff couldn’t wait to close at night (10:30pm)
Benidorm is a lovely place to stay but I’d never stay at the Flamingo playa again!

Submitted By: Miss S GarmstonTo be honest we wasn’t in the room for long and I thought it was clean as I am very fussy.
The hotel staff were very friendly and the entertainment was good.
We are going again this year (07) and are taking our 2 year old daughter.
The lifts did break down which was annoying but I didn’t have anything else to complain about.
The area is very nice and you can get a good breakfast at the Yorkshireman and fantastic conversation at the piano bar down the road. So see you soon.
" This had been the 3rd time we'd been... "
Submitted By: Miss L WattAs soon as we got in to that part there were people fighting, shouting ,partying, throwing glass down stairs and blood everywhere.
We complained straight away as obviously wasn’t safe plus the lights didn’t work, the Thomson reps were so unhelpful we had to spend the night in the reception area until the next morning.
Eventually we got moved in to the main part of hotel after lots of arguments with reps, it was a lot cleaner and better in the main building.
Wouldn’t recommend for families as lots of young people there in summer causing havoc.

Submitted By: Miss E WilcottWhen I arrived at the hotel I was warmly welcomed by the reps and found the receptionist very friendly. Even though I didn’t speak a word of Spanish I tried to learn a few.
When we arrived to our hotel it was not amazing but it was clean and tidy. The first night we were there we got a complaint about the noise. They put 3 young girls on the same floor as a family with children and an old lady down stairs (not a good idea).
At night the bar was happy hour and I think the staff turned happy at night as well, really friendly.
The pool was nice in the mornings always looked clean.
It’s not too far from the clubs and shops but quite far away from the beach (not that we ever made it that far ha ha).
Overall we loved our holiday here and I am thinking about going next year as well.
Think they could modernise the hotels interior make it look a bit hot.

Submitted By: Mrs B WardThe rooms were dated and do need refurbishing but were clean. The bar staff at night couldn’t close up quick enough and you knew they wanted everyone to leave the bar area so they could get home. Reception staff were friendly enough along with the reps when we spoke to them.
The lifts were really slow, luckily we weren’t stuck in them but someone was trapped for 4hrs during the day and they have NO air conditioning. Great food at the Titanic bar over the road, breakfasts and chicken curry are great! Overall not the worst holiday but not the best.

Submitted By: Miss Sarah McThe one thing that could be improved upon is that there should be air conditioning in the room and also in the lifts! It gets really hot in them especially if you are on the 21st floor (the highest one) like I was! Didn’t take the stairs much! Ha ha! Ooh and watch out for the dodgy lifts they often break down! Luckily enough it never happened to me! But it happened to other people I remember!
But I loved every moment of it! Plenty to do and see! The clubs and pubs were good! Especially for all you clubbers, go to hippodrome! Its such a good place and cheap and affordable too! Unlike some of the other places! They have always got the good new songs on too! Instead of all the old boring stuff! The only bad thing is people advertising there clubs and loading you with leaflets and junk like that! Just chuck them in the bucket! That’s what we did! And them actually dragging you into clubs! But after a while and you say no they get the hint and leave you alone at long last to enjoy your evening! The clubs are open to 8am!
Anyways I’ll leave you all now to decide and make your minds up! But one more thing I have to say before I go is - watch out Benidorm 2007!! Hehe

Submitted By: Mr W LukeRooms were clean and the staff very helpful. Unfortunately was no air conditioning in the rooms so had to rent a fan from reception.
A lot of young, noisy groups in the hotel and heard other guests saying they couldn't get to sleep with all the noise they made but personally didn't hear any and the hotel management were quick to get rid of any trouble makers.
All in all it was a very pleasant holiday and would definitely go back.

The accommodation was spotless with well equipped apartments. All apartments have balconies. There are only 2 lifts servicing the 25 storey building & they do take a while.
There is a small pool with bar. You do have to pay for your sunbeds too.
Overall if you like Benidorm then this is a nice apartment to stay in.
