We just got back from Oasis Village last night and all I can say is that it is thee worst all inclusive we've been too. To start of the first two days we we're there it was raining, not that I minded the rain but you would think that they would at least but some entertainment on but did they no...we had a boring day in the apartment. Next my mum's boyfriend ended up with Food Poisoning the first week and then the second week my mum had it.
Speaking of the food they say they cater for everyone, do they hell. For the last couple of days they served basically the same thing and if you arrive at night and you miss dinner all they serve is a cold buffet mind you it is edible but if there's something there you don't like it was either that or nothing save going out for something to eat. The sandwiches they sold at the snack bar we're all stail and what was worse there was one day when a live wire was actually on the trays and people we're actually getting electric shocks.
The reps acted like they didn't have a care in the world, one of them Jay I think his name was; at the welcome meeting you couldn't here a word he was saying he didn't even think to get a microphone or something and other were getting fed up of him as well. The waiters and bartenders we're a different story, one refused to serve us ice cream during snack time as he didn't believe we we're Thomas Cook but we had the bands to prove it, I think there were at least 2 there who were polite and that was it.
I give it a 5 because other than what I've mentioned above the apartments were nice and spacious, and we're always kept clean but I'd recommend buying a small travel kettle as the tea they have over there is disgusting, (well in my point of view anyway ;)
All in all I'm saying if your going to this place mind and watch the food if you don't want to end up the apartment for most of your holiday.

just got home yesterday stayed here for 1 week from 1st to the 8th october.Had such a good time.went with friends group of 4 adults and 5 children. Theme rooms were great, cleaners didnt come everyday but that did not bother us when they did come did a good job.reception staff polite happy and helpful.did not eat at oasis papagayo so cannot comment on this. we ate at the steak house down towards wakiki restaurant staff there are excellent if you want a good T-bone steak that comes sizzling, great value for money then go there free cocktail on arrival.do not eat at the mexican in the plaza what a waste of money. shop next door to oasis papagayo very good value. long walk into town but kept my weight off didnt put a pound on. pools large and enough sunbeds to go around.1 pool seemed to be for germans but as soon as we turned up they soon cleared off lol.went down to tiffanys once for breakfast it was the worst 30 euros spent what a waste of money with a free hair thrown in. some good acts on in the club bar something different every night.the last night act was a Bob Marley soundalike he was brill.Barmen very cheerful and god do they make good cocktails you only need 1.we always took a bottle of pop in with us works out cheaper than buying the kids drinks from the bar. Emma at the pool bar thanks for arranging the mens fishing trip they loved it. The two thomson kids reps that made our kids holiday deserve a medal they were fantastic they would go that extra mile for you the kids and us adults loved them to bits they are Tina Tinkerbell and Hannah Bannana.hopefully see you next year Tina in Gran canaria Jacque sends his love.(LoL)
Baku water park was brilliant i am petrified of deep water and my husband dragged me on the black hole everone must of heard my screams but it was a good laugh.kept the kids and the dads entertained all day a great rest for us mums.
Had a fantastic time and would go back one day. felt very sad leaving this time.

The Negative - We first of all had booked with Thomson to go Half Board, as this would have been cheaper than eating out and about in Fuerteventura. But the reviews on this site plus on all the other review sites we could find and over the period of the last few years to the present all pretty much said the same thing that the food was disgusting at this hotel, so we switched to Self Catering option.
For some people the fact there is no Air Con at this modern hotel could be a major no no, and here is how it is. The rooms will soon become stiflingly stuffy without having windows at both end of your apartment open to allow the breeze in, we found that during week one there was a strong breeze and it worked like Air Con, especialy around 2 to 5 am when its coolest, however during week 2 there was little wind so the nights were hot, and the mozzies came out due to the lack of breeze and we were all bitten to death by them. It was so hot 2 nights i slept out on the balcony on a sun lounger, but this is not a negative as the air was nice and cool, no snoring noise from the rest of the family and the lounger was more confortable on my back than the beds were. The beds were at first confortable but i woke with a bad back each morning from them.
The hob had english instructions on a laminated sheet but the microwave didnt, and it had the settings, lenta, m.lenta, m.alta and alta, not sure which was low or high at the time so we stuck with m'alta which took ages. But have since worked out that Alta is high and lenta is low so there you go.
The maids were not perfect in the freqency of their visit but were better than some of the reports we read before we went out there, out of 10 scheduleled visits from them we got 8.
If you want a really quiet room dont ask for a pool view as you get all the bar noise especially with the windows open, and will have to listen to the cheesey reps show over and over and become a pro at Rolf Harris's Court of King Caracatus, which seems to be the Thomson theme song for 2008 across all the hotels in the world that the Thomson reps perform at. If you want a quite room ask for one down the back towards the smaller fresh water pools as no noise there, good point was they cheesy show stuff stopped at midnight so no noise after then.
Food cost in Fuerteventura is not cheap, its well expensive. You'll easily spend £25 to £40 for 2 meals and a kids meal a night, let alone your breakfast and lunch costs. We got through £1000 in a fortnight and we had cornflakes and toast in our apartment each morning and made cheese and onion sandwitches each lunch time and only bought 2 coffees out and our evening meal. We didnt waste any money on any of the crappy tat they sell in the souvanier shops or anything like that, so who knows what people who dont watch what they spend get through.
Basically even eating out breaky, having 2 bacon sandwiches and scrambled egg on toast, 2 oj;s and 2 coffees between 2 adults and 2 kids cost us best part of £15 one morning.
The first night we got there we wanted somewhere close to eat as were were all tired etc so we went to Tiffanys next to the hotel. (By the way no one seems to mention its an Audrey Hepburn themed cafe on any review before) dont get me wrong Tiffanys is spotlessly clean and the food quaility is good but the service that night was crap. Basically they have one woman who cooks in their tiny kitchen that cant cope with the ammount of tables their place can hold and another woman gets the drinks and orders in. We went there at 830pm and it was about a third full, and placed an order for 3 omellettes and chips to share between us 4 (2 adults 5yr old and infant, hence the sharing), not the hardest concoction for them to make would you think, WRONG!!!!!!!! People who came after us and ordered great big cooked dinners were getting theres before us and we asked and they said soon yours will be with you. At quarter to 10pm we still had no dinner and our little girl fell asleep in her high chair so we went to complain and they said they hadnt forgot but were really busy which was silly as they stopped taking orders at 9pm and were not even a full house. We left with no dinner and there was no place else near by to eat, so we went to the spanish bakery next door for a bagguette and had that for our dinner with butter on it.
One weird thing (not bad or good just weird) is the island seems obsessed in advertising "TITTY TROLLAPS MUSICHALL TAVERN" drag queen show, every time we opened a magazine, news paper or leaflet even down in the toilets of Tiffany's, there was this picture of the show in all its queeny glory. It was funny as, as it tickled us as everywhere we least expected it was Titty Trollap LOL. I'm sure it's a great laugh night out but is this the best of Fuerteventura?
We used to wake at dawn for a moment when the sea lions start to wake up at the neighbouring Baku park and start Honking. Again this is a bad thing for some people but we found it funny.
The best place to eat for not bad price (by Fuerteventura standards) was Cordon Blue, it looks not that glam, almost the sort of place you would walk past and say, err no thanks. But it really was great. 2 friendly yet very assertive BRit ladies run it, its like this little bar restaurant right on the sea front, near the police station. The ale pie was the best ale pie i ever ate. They also have lovley outdoor seats where you can watch the sunset. The waiter guy here and the boystrous ladies were great fun and really made an effort with you. We noticed in an estate agents window that Cordon Blue is up for sale so it might not be there for much longer, will be sad for the place to loose such a little gem. Big up the waiter guy Roberto and larger than life ladies.
Our other favoriate place where we did eat several times due to the great service was La Tasca, on the main road into town. They had lots to choose from, Italian menu etc, they make a fuss of your kids in a nice way which was good.
We also ate at the Plaza mexican 2 times which was good food, slightly cold standooffish service from the oriental ladies who work there, they are not very genuinly welcoming. Our daughter had a complete terrible 2's moment there on our 2nd visit, infact the worst total storp i've ever seen her make, and the staff did nothing to calm her like the La Tasca staff would have. My wife had to leave her meal and her beer and our son and I left half ours too to take Lucy off to calm her down which didnt work and we had to leave. The staff then charged me for the whole lot and remained emotionless and detatched, not a good move to make you want to return, it was the lack of genuine emmotion and detatchedness that was the worst from them all. One of the staff also could not speak much english (no she wasnt spanish, she was of a far eastern first langay#uage) and she brought our son iced tea instead of orange juice which sounds nothing like one another.
We also ate at Jaipoor one night, again really nice curry etc but the portions of curry were very small, kind of like child portions, compared to every other curry house i've ever ate at and as a result we didnt go again, not becasue it was no good, just beacuse it wasnt real value for money.
The spanish bakery next door to Tiffanys is where all spanish locals meet and their young folk, they have a really nice selection of cakes and desserts and good coffee and bread, if you want a good experience thats not Blackpool, Skegness/Benidorm type place and want to mingle a little with the true locals go to the barkery. Most of the Spanish staff girls are nice and friendly and will speak english to you there but like it if you speak a little Spanish too. There is one bit of a dragon who works there and will only speak spanish really fast too you but she's ok in small doeses. But dont let her put you off, its a really nice little place to get your bread, cakes and go for a coffee.
If you can tare yourself away from the delights of the taky shops and want to see a bit of the culture of Furte, then hire a car and go seek it. We went to the Mirodoor del Velosa in the mountains which was a beautiful drive and breath taking sceanry, The mirodoor is a nice classy posh modern cafe on the top of one of the highest mountains, well worth a visit. Also went to the Toston lighthouse and which for E1.30 you can have a tour of the fishing museum and go up the tower. Another great place, the sea rolls in here and meets at 2 points so there is big waves and looks amazing. Its better than the other light house down at Jania point as its a death drive that takes ages to get to the Jandia lighthouse and it is no open to public or has any cafe like that Toton one does at the north end of he island.
We also went to see the underground cave thing in the island cant remember its name, sadly the only other person on the island apart from the dragon lady at the bakery that doesnt speak any english runs this tourist attraction, they only take you down on a guided tour in spansih so no go for the Brits, French or germans if you dont fluently speak the lingo, we declined the tour and visit which was a shame, but we were the only folks there at the time so the guid would have been wasting his time and might as well have given us a silent tour if we went with him.
The island has some beautiful beaches but not all that much else to see really. Good weather, and our hotel had nice pools, and was modern, spacious rooms and friendly staff and the thomson reps were good overall.
Luckily we had no experience of bulgulry or our rooms like some people in years gone by.
I'd return to the hotel again, but as we like to get out and see places, we wont be going here again as we've seen Furteventura and done it now and theres a million other places in the world to see.
Hotel is great for kids who just love it, great reps, kids club, free football and things to do all day.
We hade a great holiday overall

My Fiancée, Donna and I have been to Corralejo twice previously, so know what to expect. This was our 3rd different complex in the resort, but by far the best so far. The staff in reception were extremely efficient, yet polite and friendly and we were handed our keys almost before our cases had hit the floor! The first impression of the complex was that it was large, well presented and very tidy. A good mix of landscaped gardens, even some grass!!
The ground floor apartment was very large, with a good size living area, 2 patios (one under cover), a superb bathroom, a good-size bedroom, with plenty of storage and a well-equipped kitchen, with a toaster and microwave - things we've had to hire before. The whole apartment was very clean, although the maid didn't come every day. The towels were clean enough, but could have been changed every day, as after a couple of showers a day, they need freshening. Only a little moan, though.
The two pool areas were so well maintained, clean and the gardens well kept. There are 2 large salt water pools and 1 medium sized normal pool that are deep enough to swim in and a further 2 kiddies pools. The main pool area is very noisy during the day with over eager reps wanting you to join in every activity, telling you that you have to join in because you are on holiday! We wanted to just relax and chill out and didn't find out until the last day that the villa pool area, which has a pool bar, is much quieter.
Having said that, if you have kids or are not worried about a total relax, then this complex is the place for you. From what we saw, they really care about the kids and keeping them amused. There is a crèche and kids club and the entertainment is aimed at the family. The only downside (maybe I'm getting old?!) is that everything seemed to be done at the highest volume and could be toned down a little.
We ate in the restaurant once and how you can get pizza so wrong, I don't know. Cardboard base, which needed a hammer and chisel! Limited choice, too and the service a little slow.
I would recommend a walk into town and choose for yourself from the range of pizza, pasta, Chinese, Indian and typical English (pub) restaurants. Out particular favourite is San Borondon just outside the music square. Relaxed and unhurried service and great choice of freshly prepared food. Get a taxi back if you're not a fan of walking, as it is a little uphill!
There is an English style bar right next door that shows 2 different football matches, if there is a choice. Not packed and the barman is a friendly guy, willing to help.
The beaches in the town are clean and tidy and plenty of rock pools for the kids to pay in, when the tide is out. The Dunes Beach (Oliva Beach) is enormous, but a little way out of the resort, but popular with surfers and kite flyers.
This year's holiday made all the more special as we bought our wedding rings while out there. Not from the market, I hasten to add, but a good deal in one of the (many) jewellers.
To sum up, I would score the complex as follow:
Hotel Staff 9/10 - good English speakers for those who don't try.
Accommodation 9/10 - would have been 10, but 2 single beds.
Pools 10/10 - choice of salt water or normal, loud or quiet
Pool Bars - 8/10 - different prices each day, but reasonable selections.
Reps - 4/10 - but we've not got kids and wanted to chill out. If you have kids, then you would score higher.

just returned from our 2 week bed & breakfast stay at oasis papagayo. it was our first time there and to be honest we were a bit worried after reading bad reviews. fortunately we decided to take a chance and decide for ourselfs and we were 100 percent glad that we did. the reception staff are very friendly and helpful, they also speak excellent english.
the complex itself is fantastic and very nicely laid out and the appartments are clean & spacious with nice decor. the pools & pool area was always immaculately kept clean and the water was crystal clear. entertainment by the thomson reps both morning and evening was brilliant, ensuring that you were never bored. the food in the papagayo a la carte resturaunt was very tasty and the service was excellent.
as for the location of the complex it is in perfect place to access all local ammenities ie a great water park literally across the road, the pure white sand beach, and a good variety of shops, resturaunts and bars. the ONLY thing that did not give this place the full 10/10 was that it was a little too hot at night with no air con on over you have to settle for a fan which is only good for a short while. nevertheless we would not hesitate in coming back nxt year. if you are like us and tend to get a little worried reading bad reviews please do not pay any attention to them as this place was amazing and some people are just never satisfied.

My girlfriend and I booked this as a last minute thing, for a break just after Christmas. We weren't sure where we'd end up, but boy are we glad it was here. The place is unbelieveable, so immaculate and friendly. The rooms are so spacious and are like a home from home. The 3 pools are brilliant with plenty of room to stretch out in. I wasn't took keen on it being salt water though I must add. The only real niggle is the location, the area it is in is lovely and the hotel is a marvellous looking place, but it is a good 15 - 20 minute walk to the first real part of the strip, if you were to venture on further to the 'livlier' area, you would find yourself with a 35 minute walk, depending on how many drinks you have had!
Overall, great place, lovely people, so clean and spacious. Top notch hotel, would go back again, no hesitation!

Quite a nice place but only two gripes. No A/C in the rooms and it does get very stuffy at night, but the biggest problem was the maid servive, or lack of it. The maid came round one day and just left three small hand towels. She did nothing else, no cleaning, no tidying she didn't even take the old towels. I had to complain at reception as we have a 5 month old girl and we could have done with the now overflowing bins emptying (three day old nappies + 100 degrees = smelly room). EVENTUALLY after saying I would empty the bins myself (into the garden) and throw the towles after the rubbish, we got our room cleaned. All in all, not a bad place (should have a three star rating) but the cleaning service is very poor indeed. On a happier note, if you have kids that require a 'Kids Club' type of place, go here. The Kiddie Reps are the most hard working I have ever seen and the children were having a ball!
The resort itself we thought was a bit tacky, ok if you want a full English breakfast and a couple of episodes of Eastenders though! Find the 'old Town' if you want a bit more than Blackpool with sun, it's far better.
Recommended places to eat:
La Tasca (on the left as you come into Corallejo) after the Netto.
There is a 'Grill' place on the right hand side of the road on the way down to Waikiki beach, can't remember what it was called.
The Slow Boat V Chinese (just fancied it one night)! One of the best Chinese meals I have ever had, bit further down from Las Tasca.
Places to avoid:
There's an 'All in one' venue which has Indian, Mexican, Chinese and a pub in the same 'Square'. We had the Mexican which was awful.

just returned from a 2 week holiday here (last week in june and first week in july) it was absolutley amazing, the place is gorgeous and has everything you need..we stayed in a first floor appartment, was very clean and spacious, cleaners were in 5 days a week, after reading other reviews i thought the place was going to be dirty but not at all, the ceaners work hard. the thomson reps are brilliant, always their for you no matter what, they have all info on excursions and will book them for you, frankie is a brill rep very happy friendly bloke. we went on the oasis park adventure, it was amazing went on a camel, seen parrots riding bicyles, seen a sealion show and was kissed by one of them hehe, there was also loads and loads more to see and do. we went to the beach that was very nice also, very hot although it was 9 euros for 2 sun beds. majority of the swimming pools at the village are salt water but there is clourine ones beside the jacuzzi.
reps lil kimmy and bouie are at the mian pool all day with activites and enteretainment for children, there is a little for adults but not uch, this would be my only complaint. in the evening there is live entertainment for children and adults in the clubhouse which is all done by the reps, monday nights here are fantastic.
walk down to the town in only 10minutes not long at all and a very easy walk, although it is nly 2-3 euros for a taxi. loads of places to eat, shop and have a good time. recommend the plaza, went hear to both the steak house and the chinese, dont recommend the chinese but defo the steak house, best steak ive ever tasted.
the slow boat chinese buffet on the other side of the street is very good, also good value for money.
down the road from the oasis papagayo village there is little cafe called tiffanys, this is a brittish place, the food is very nice and on a sunday there is a sunday roast.
beware the sun is very hot, there is always a breeze so you dont always feel the real heat, we made the mistake of going out in the sun for 2 hours with no suncream on, this was a bi mistake as we got burnt badly and had sunstroke, we were unable to go out the following 2 days. so always wear suncream!!
will defo go back here next year, most amazing holiday yet.
recommended to everyone although mainly families as there is creches, kidsclubs etc.

hi not long back from our great family holiday at oasis papgayo. well my self my husband and our two sons (10)and (8) and daughter(6) all had a really great holiday here, the complex is lovely and well kept, the 5 pools although salty (which you do get used to) so theirs somthing for all, plenty of sunbeds no matter what time of day. pool tables and airhockey around the pool so when our boys had enough of the water that kept them amused and we could carry on catching rays.lol lots going on around the main pool in day games and things which our boys loved the reps bowey and lil kim did a great job entertaining adults and kids both day and night(they must be on good money ,and if their not give em a pay rise they deserve it!) our footy mad boys loved the footy pitch and we bought a bat and ball set and played in the tennis court s alot and theirs also a vollyball pitch. we had a 2 bed apart which are ground floor only it was clean and spacious kids all shared 1 room so no making up sofa beds , cleaned reguerly and towls changed too, oh ment to say on arrival our rooms were not ready so after an hour and hot stressful hunt for our apt we were pleasently surprised to see the cleaners had been making our towles into swans and things and flowers were placed in the rooms.
we had heard that there had been a brake in one night so payed to use the safe in our apt, one negative thing was no aircon ,the nights were a pain especialy when you suffer with prickly heat like my self and was to frightend to open windows due to could be burgulars and nats (they love me).
our kids loved the kids clubs and so did we(peace) the kids zone reps were brillant! they really were and our 3 loved them even our daughter who is shy, oh and we had a couple of evening meals on our own due to kidzone fantastic!
food at pool bar was fine but pricey so we just bought it takeaway rather then at the tables it was a lot cheaper. the kids icecreams were about 250 euros each which when youve got 3 kids and their having 2 a day it adds up so we bought them from the shop on site, although the shop was the dearest on the island it woked out a lot cheaper.
we always ate out in the centre which was about a 15 min walk which we allways got a taxi to and back, not because were lazy but hotel entertainment was at set times so allways on a time limit. taxi cost 2-3 euros but would never take 5 persons so allways had to get 2.
water park opp was a great day out we all loved it as we did the oasis park trip really great day kids loved the camel rides.
At wknds small funfair opp was good 4 little ones and good bowling too, would def go back to papagayo everything to keep the kids happy so if their happy then we are.

Yet again another great holiday at the oasis pap.
3rd time of visiting and will def go back, entertainment good, kidzone excellant and reps approachable and very knowledgeable.
minor gripes cleaning not ever so clever, and towels need to be changed more often but otherwise a super holiday again. Location is fine dont be put off, a taxi takes 2 mins to main street and some recomendations for dining are Beleten restaurant, La Factoria for the best pizza/pasta in Corralejo and Slow boat 2 in the Plaza for Chinese.
Also go to the Oasis Park in La Lajita with the kids, excellant day out.
Baku Waterpark has great slides/flumes but is very expensive and please make sure you slap on loads of cream as they will not let you wear t shirts or hats. I burnt quite badly so beware.

Stayed here with 3 other ladies, couldn't fault the place, beautiful gardens and pool area, well kept and very clean. Bars were all brilliant. Loads to do, too many things to mention. Did have our room broke into though, due to us being at the back of the complex i suppose, took all my cash!!!! Rooms were really, really nice, spacious and extremely clean. Short, cheap taxi ride to the main town where all the nightlife is. Will definately be taking my partner and children there at some point. REPS WERE BRILLIANT AND VERY HELPFUL!!!!!!!!

Did the people who wrote reviews on here go to another place with the same name?! after reading them we were really worried about going on our holiday, what a waste of time that was! we arrived to find clean, spacious, bright appartment in a clean, spacious, friendly complex. we had a fantastic week at this chilled out place. there was plenty of space for everyone, the entertainment was fab, the reps and entertainers were nice there was plenty to do and the walk into town and the beach was no where near as bad as eveyone makes out! Mark and Frankie, the 2 main reps were likeable, helpful lads who told us the best places, to visit, eat etc and the best beach for the children and so on. we have no hesitation reccommending this place to others and can't wait to go back. unfortunately some people just go away to moan, maybe they should keep their miserable opinions to themselves and stop putting people off!!!

Have hust returned from these apartments and only really have a couple of good things to say! After arriving at the hotel we were givin keys and thought it all looked very nice, apartments very spacious and clean, after going out for a few drinks we locked the doors and went to bed. We were awoke at 730 in the morning by reception to say my partners wallet had been found at the front of the hotel, we soon realized we had been robbed in our sleep, the windows to the apartment were either not locking or left open, 5 other familys had exactly the same happen to them. The hotel did then give us allinclusive but the food is very bad so whatever you do don't pay for it! the whole place reminded me of a ghost town, there is just nothing around, the entertainment was terrible too, best part of holiday for us was a gorgeous restaurant near the music square called tio bernabe, stunning food.

Another grate holiday here, best complex on the island only oasis dunas comes any way close only complaint is it is a little to far out of town to walk back after a drink or five but taxis are plenty full cant wait till we go back again. Plenty to do all day our child 5 year old loved it 10 out of 10. Water park well worth a visit and close to the complex this is our fifth time here and will keep coming back as it is so good
