Did the people who wrote reviews on here go to another place with the same name?! after reading them we were really worried about going on our holiday, what a waste of time that was! we arrived to find clean, spacious, bright appartment in a clean, spacious, friendly complex. we had a fantastic week at this chilled out place. there was plenty of space for everyone, the entertainment was fab, the reps and entertainers were nice there was plenty to do and the walk into town and the beach was no where near as bad as eveyone makes out! Mark and Frankie, the 2 main reps were likeable, helpful lads who told us the best places, to visit, eat etc and the best beach for the children and so on. we have no hesitation reccommending this place to others and can't wait to go back. unfortunately some people just go away to moan, maybe they should keep their miserable opinions to themselves and stop putting people off!!!

Apr 2008, Miss C Mccormack

Have hust returned from these apartments and only really have a couple of good things to say! After arriving at the hotel we were givin keys and thought it all looked very nice, apartments very spacious and clean, after going out for a few drinks we locked the doors and went to bed. We were awoke at 730 in the morning by reception to say my partners wallet had been found at the front of the hotel, we soon realized we had been robbed in our sleep, the windows to the apartment were either not locking or left open, 5 other familys had exactly the same happen to them. The hotel did then give us allinclusive but the food is very bad so whatever you do don't pay for it! the whole place reminded me of a ghost town, there is just nothing around, the entertainment was terrible too, best part of holiday for us was a gorgeous restaurant near the music square called tio bernabe, stunning food.

Another grate holiday here, best complex on the island only oasis dunas comes any way close only complaint is it is a little to far out of town to walk back after a drink or five but taxis are plenty full cant wait till we go back again. Plenty to do all day our child 5 year old loved it 10 out of 10. Water park well worth a visit and close to the complex this is our fifth time here and will keep coming back as it is so good

Just spent a week here with family...

Apr 2008, Mrs M Eynon

Just spent a week here with family for my 40th birthday. Ages ranged from 8 to 73. We all had a lovely holiday here. Hotel was exceptionally clean, 4 pools with ice hockey, pool and table tennis located on the side of the pool. The pool bar was reasonably priced with quick service. Also on site was tennis, volleyball and bowling. The entertainment was pretty good, although the kids party dances were somewhat bizarre, but the kids loved it nevertheless. Staff were helpful and friendly, and quick to respond to requests. The only negative about this hotel is the towels, they are old and only get changed twice a week. We took extra to combat this problem.
Off site, places good to eat are tiffinays, short walk to right of hotel, or in town the plasa offers a few restaurants, the showboat v was delicious and i had my birthday there. Also in the plasa is the 7 pints, excellent entertainment and would recommend the blues brothers show - very funny for all.
my mother was ill while we were there and she visited the medical centre, cheaper than the doctors as it was free compared to 50+euros, excellent service, just needed E11card. Hopefully you wont need this though.
Word of warning - take a jumper or 2 as gets very chilly in the night. enjoy we did.

Myself and my Wife in 30's decided...

Mar 2008, Mr N Drake

Myself and my Wife in 30's decided upon the Oasis Papagyo for a cheap winter break to grab some sun and just relax. I was a little worried what the accommodation was like for just £350 per person for a week with Thompson but to be fair I was pleasantly surprised.
Oasis Papagyo is a few k from the main town but that doesn’t really matter as a taxi is very cheap or 10 min walk is easy enough. The room we were given at first was next to a family with a baby so I asked to change which was no probs. We didn't have children with us but if we did it would have been a very good place for them to go. The next room was nice and had everything you needed and was clean enough although the furniture was a little stained from cups etc but not unclean.
Breaking it down I would rate it like this. Room 7 out of 10. Points dropped as the bed was two singles and rather uncomfortable. The rest was great though. Nice place to sit outside the room. TV and the bits and bobs and lovely bathroom. Oh and the water was brown a few times when we ran it.
Pool etc. Lovely. 10/10. Warm enough mmmmmaybe a little cold but weather wasn’t great for us.
On site restaurant well have to say the Pizza was terrible if you can mess up a pizza then go knows what the other food was like. Oh and stay away from the Canarian Potatoes. We smuggled them out in our pockets cause we were too embarrassed not to have touched them.
Corallejo itself is nice enough. Not great shopping. Went to Jandia for the day and that was much nicer. Some great setups for the surf. 2 decent lefts in the main town but unfortunately onshore all week for us. Cottilo Beach 15 mins drive. Nice beach heavy beachie. You do get stung 12 euros each was for a board to go on the bus unfortunatly.
So all in all we are not complaining at all. We did not expect much for the price and were pleasantly surprised. I would go back with the children no problem at all or even just the two of us. Ok it was no Hilton but hey what do you expect.
Eat out cause the onsite food was not the best. Oh the breakfast was terrible as well so glad we were self catering. Half Board would have been a big waste of money. Better value to eat in town. (there was a fly in the orange juice machine and landed in my oj in the morn and the fry up looked pretty gross. The day we did eat there we just had bread juice tea coffee and bacon. That is 8 euros and you can get better in town or down the road at the lovely Spanish bakery with coffee seats oh yea that was great.
Ask for a different room if you are not happy and they will be fine. I should have asked for another bed but didn’t bother which I guess shows it wasn’t that bad.
Hire a car for 99 euros for 3 days through Thompson. Good value.
Oh. Entertainment shockingly amusingly bad.
So all in all I would go back cause it is winter sun without the long haul. Great place for the kids but if I had to book it now and did not want to surf I would probably have gone to Jandia.

We returned from this resort after...

Dec 2007, Mrs M Mullett

We returned from this resort after spending Christmas there. It was an attractive complex and supposedly 4 star. The apartments were basic which is fine, but on arrival we found them to be unclean.
The furniture was a distressed look but covered in tea stains and had not been cleaned for a while. Before unpacking I cleaned the whole apartment .even the drawers had bits of debris inside, the cleaners had obviously not cleaned our one for some weeks.
The cleaner in fact only came in on three occasions this was to empty rubbish and to fill up toilet rolls apart from this only our front room was mopped after requesting this after our third flood, as you will gather it rained and the hotel are not used to rain so the water hit the front door and ran straight underneath the front door and was covering all the floor.
We mopped it up all the time and had wet towels lying about for days.
When we told reception all that was offered were more towels to help mop it up with ,there was no offer to clean it up for us, just do it yourself basically, hardly four star. After about three days the rain stooped and the sun came out and the holiday started to improve.
Amenities on sight are very good .a good bowling alley and several bars and restaurants, not bad food, pizza restaurant very tasty, worth a visit, wouldn’t bother going to the steak house on sight though ,very dear not good value for money.
If our room was up to good cleanliness and the hotel staff more obliging with the floods then I would consider going back as complex very nice, buy should drop a star or two. We have stayed at lots of four star hotels and this did not compare at all.
The town of Corralejo is very nice and plenty to do and wonderful Chinese restaurants.

Dec 2007, Miss T Canavan

Oasis Papagayo is a wonderful and a brilliant place. I went there in 2006 with my nan and granddad. There were 5 pool's and a hot tub. The people that worked there were really friendly.
The food was really good. The pub's and bars were ok. The hotel was clean and tidied every day. They have a computer room and they have a kid's club which my cousin's went to and Thomson was really friendly to the children as well.
It was a great holiday, glad to go back this year. The pools are lovely as well - the kid's had lot's to do.
Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Nov 2007, Miss A Gore

The apartment was clean, functional, and very welcoming. The pools were immaculate and the surrounding areas were incredibly well kept.
The staff couldn't have been any more helpful, especially as none of our luggage got put on the plane and the Thomas Cook representative was worse than useless, and really didn't care about the situation.
But thanks to the staff at the complex we had an amazing holiday and can even laugh about the lack of luggage incidence now!
We'd definitely go back to the resort and the complex, only with another tour operator this time!

Oct 2007, Mrs D Mason

Fantastic place! We have just returned from our third visit to Oasis Papagayo and have already booked for next year. The first two years we have stayed in a 2 bed standard room via Thomsons, but last year we noticed some bigger detached villas with private pools over the back of the complex behind the two smaller chlorine pools. So after a bit of internet searching, managed to book ourselves one for last week. It was fantastic! 3 massive bedrooms, huge kitchen with washer/dryer, microwave, dishwasher, etc, 2 fully equipped bathrooms, free sat TV, heated outdoor pool, roof terrace, etc.
We had the maid in everyday, bed linen was changed twice during the week and the towels changed every single day. There are actually 5 pools and a jacuzzi here. There is the main pool which is saltwater and has a shallow childrens pool next to it which is also saltwater. Joined to this, down a slight slope, is quite a deep saltwater pool which is perfect and well thought about for those that don't want to be bothered by the younger children. The other pools are towards the back of the complex. They are smaller but chlorine water so we found them much better for our needs. There is also a jacuzzi hidden behind some trees here and a childrens play area.
We did not find this part of the complex on our first visit here as it is quite well hidden if your apartment is nearer the entrance! The main entertainment takes place around the saltwater pools so that's where you need to be if that's what you are after! If you want to relax without all that then the chlorine water pools are the place to be. There are PLENTY of sunbeds!
The kids clubs are a great bonus, they even have evening clubs some nights. The mini disco is so bad, its great! My 1 year old loved it! It is a nice walk to the town, takes around 20mins. We tended to get taxis back but were never more than 2euro 20 a night. Lots of lovely cheap places to eat. The meals were never more than 60euros for 6 of us (3 adults, 3 kids) and that included beer and wine.
The water park is a good day out but I think it is quite expensive, 116euros for a family of 5. The market (just before the water park) is held on a Monday and Friday and worth a visit. The supermarket on site isn't the cheapest but we were only buying basics as we ate out every night so didn't worry too much about it. Netto in town is slightly cheaper but not worth the bother for us.
The weather was fantastic last week, in the 30s. We went as a group of 14, aged from 40 to 1 and we all had a fantastic time. I would recommend this complex to everyone!

Had a brilliant holiday with the...

Oct 2007, Miss C Watson

Had a brilliant holiday with the family, it was our second time there but we found plenty to do. Really chilled out but 1 week was enough. There is quite a walk from the hotel into Correlejo itself but a taxi is only a couple of quid.
Good restaurants are Di Napoli for Italian and Waikiki for something different. There are some nice little bars on the harbour, don't eat the bread in the restaurants that they give you (so you think it's free) because they will charge you (unless you're lucky).
Hotel was clean and reps were brilliant when we had to move rooms. Poolside entertainment was brilliant. LJ Cool and Kim Possible had us in hysterics and the variety performance by all of the reps was good fun, 'Pears' and adult 'flags' was entertainment at its best :D
Restaurant 'Don Carelone's' was a bit pricey but service was good.
If you are looking for something to do definitely book a trip on the Catalanza boat from the harbour, a well good day out and gorgeous views of Los Lobos and crew were fab.
Shops were alright, if you have a good look round you'll find some nice little quirky ones and some good clothes shops.
Brilliant holiday but don't know if we'd do it again.

Just returned home after a 2 week...

Oct 2007, Mrs BJ Le-Moine

Just returned home after a 2 week holiday within the oasis papagayo apartments.
Had a fantastic time, apartments very modern and plenty of room, no complaints with any of the hotel service, rooms/towels regular changed.
We mainly stayed during the day within the complex as there was so much going on for the children , plenty of sun beds (free) and the weather throughout was scorching-followed by the cool breeze. There are five pools- all great- lovely and clean.
The apartments are situated at a quiet end of Corralejo with small fair across the road, supermarket, pizza, bowling, waterpark and bapu market which is on every Friday & Monday-all well worth a visit- the water park is fantastic!
The main centre is a 15 min stroll away or taxis are around 2-3 Euros- plenty of them. Lots of places to eat- the Chinese / slow boat was amazing. The beaches are beautiful very clean.
Great entertainers LJj Cool/Kim Possible, everyone friendly the children loved the kids club-missing Charis from Paris, great nights of entertainment from all reps and acts alike!
Overall a great holiday, loads to see and do in this beautiful island-- would definitely return!
