Jul 2007, Miss S Williams

We booked this hotel as sort of a last minute holiday, at first when we arrived we were abit disappointed as it was dark (about11pm) and the hotel did not look that nice.
But we woke up the next morning and it was lovely, lovely pool, staff, rooms, views and food, and it was not expensive, the entertainment staff Gary and Cheryl were brilliant.
We stayed in the hotel near enough every night because of them, there was always some kind of show on to keep children and adults entertained.
We will back going back again next year, and would truly recommend the Eden as it has everything for all ages.

Jun 2007, Mr A MILLER

The Eden Apartments were very clean, very much family orientated with very friendly staff. Entertainment was good for all ages and the food was fantastic in the hotel and much cheaper than anywhere else in the resort. The rooms are well sized with newly fitted kitchens, the ground floor apartments all had a back garden for the kids to play in, very safe and secure.
The Thomson Rep Karen was absolutely brilliant and could not do enough for you. Yes there are some cockroaches but mainly outside of apartments as you would expect with a climate like Gran Canaria.
Eden is ideal for young families and older couples, not for the romantic or clubbers out there.
So, what can I say to all the weird people who don’t like the Eden, you could all do with staying in your ivory towers instead of going on holiday!

May 2007, mikey wafer

I and my girlfriend went away for our first holiday together at the Eden. After reading mixed reviews we were quite sceptical about what to expect on arrival.
We got there at 10.00 in the morning to be greeted by the manager and our holiday reps. On checking in we were given a map of Puerto Rico telling us where different hotels were and the local amenities, along with a map of the complex to show us we're our room would be.
After easily navigating to our room, we made our way back down to the reception to see the rep and get the key for our safety deposit box. We were advised to hire a portable fan for our room, which I would advise for anybody travelling during the holiday season.
The restaurant was brilliant, food was fantastic, and the full English breakfast was enough to set you up for a good day ahead.
If you’re unsure where anything is or how to get there all of the hotel staff were very helpful and would give as much information as they could whether it be good or bad(so at least they were honest).
We were told of certain things to look out for on our days out. Like the touts trying to sell time shares which wasn’t much of a problem for us however we noticed the older people were the more they were stopped.
The maid service was very friendly and understanding, if we left during the day we would come back to find the room exactly as we found on our very first day.
This is definitely a family focused complex with plenty of activities for the full family. There was also the luxury of the adult only terrace if you want to escape the kids but stay in the complex.
The Europa is just round the corner and anything else is a gentle walk if going downhill or a 2 minute taxi ride to amadores beach or puerto rico beach.
The only downside I could think of for the holiday was the people wanting you to eat in there restaurants, but this does not reflect on the Eden.

May 2007, Mrs Cm Murray

My family had a great time at the Eden apartments.
Rooms were reasonable size, as were lounge and kitchen. Rooms were clean, but could do with a lighter colour of paint. It was all very blue. But you don't go on holiday to look at the decor.
My kids loved the pool and the play areas. Went out most nights so can't say too much about the entertainment, although it was held in the poolside bar which is indoors and not very big.
As I had a buggy with me as did my sister-in-law it was quite awkward to get to a table.
But all in all we had a great time. Staff were very friendly. The onsite shop sold most things you would need.
Would definitely go back again.

Apr 2007, Mr G Floyd

Very poor. We arrived the kettle leaked over the electrics, the bedding was dirty, the bathroom was mouldy.
Half way through the holiday the tiles in the living room cracked and rose about an inch from the floor. Did Thomson care, the answer was no. Was we warned of building work, no! Never booking with Thomson again.
The plus side was not infact the hotel but the resort. Although situated at the top of a hill the views were spectacular.

The Eden, What can I say? Fantastic....
9 / 10
Apr 2007, Mr JD Dean

The Eden, What can I say? Fantastic. There is a lot of bad reviews about the Eden and I really can’t understand why? Everything was perfect.
Mitchell and his staff are very polite, funny and overall good guys, apart from one man, who is very impolite, moody and basically not like the others. The Shop Assistants were average.
When I went, Gary and Vicky were on their Easter Break so "Big Gazza" And Cheryl were the entertainers... Big Gazza is an absolute legend, one of the most funny people you can meet, cheerful, happy and very bouncy, I think his full time Job is at the Altamar apartments a few steps down the road from the Eden, so maybe a visit to the Altamar could be nice.
The apartments are away from the main resort, but the "Europa Centre" is just around the corner, there is lots of good food on offer in many of the different restaurants.
In Puerto Rico, the Sausages are the most horrible sausages I have ever tried...
But don’t worry "Jokis" has English sausages and the English Breakfast I Lush! I highly recommend this, other places I would recommend are "Lord Bryrons", and "Little Italy"
Oh Yea, I almost forgot, The drinks at the hotel are a reasonable size but they put huge Ice Cubes in. If you take these out of the cup, you only have half the amount it looks like, so ask for no ice, don’t worry, the drink is still cold anyway.. Get more for your money!
A Normal size fizzy drink is $1.80, about £1.20 English currency. Happy Hour is buy one get one free and that’s from 4pm-5pm, The Bingo Hour as well.
Just a little more information, if you eat down the bottom centre in the main resort, "Caribe" has nice gammon steak but is very, very expensive!
Thanks for the great holiday, Gazza, Cheryl, Mitchell and his bar staff, Great Hol!

When I read the reviews on this place...

Mar 2007, Mr Jason White

When I read the reviews on this place I thought I was in for a bad time but I just gotta say it’s really nice and very well kept also really clean so when people say its dirty they are so wrong it must be them making it dirty.
What a fantastic place to stay we enjoyed every min of it and the staff really do go out of there way to help you big shout out to Diago, Nadina, Mitchel & all the other bar staff.
The entertainment team Gazza & Chez really do work well together and make your stay even better and I love gazza's saying on the bingo of "I'm Shaking My Ball's Shaking My Ball's I'm Shaking My Bingo Ball's" also while he shakes his ball's there is a happy hour from 4pm till 5pm buy one get one free.
The only real problem was the towels we did have to ask Kim in reception a few times but within the hour they was changed just don’t be afraid to ask all the staff are very helpful even the rep's who are always around to help also Thompson supply you with a 24hr contact line so if there is any problem you can call them.
On sunday nights there is a BBQ make sure you try this because its real filling and good value for 9 Euro's you get. Steak,Pork,Large Sausage Chicken and loads of salad also a Baked Potato. Make sure if you go there with travelers cheques you don’t change them in the Europa Center it says on the sign "NO COMMISION" but they charge 2% on all transactions and ripped me right off I paid commission in the uk of 1.4% now they want more I did try to explain this to the lady and after I had signed them she said she would not accept them so now they was useless and I had to report them stolen to claim the money back so please stay away from this place.
If you go to Peurto Rico Center and you like Steak visit Las Vegas Steak House its very clean and very nice food. I have friends in Peurto Rico called Gary & Sally they have a bar in the center at the back far right hand said on the top leval next to "Chez Funny Boy" (VERY WEIRD PLACE)
There bar is called "THE OASIS BAR" well worth a visit tell them Jason & Carrie sent you they will remember me from Anfi Radio so mention me you will be looked after. Enjoy your visit to the Eden and Peurto Rico and live life to the full.... Jason & Carrie From Somerset England

Feb 2007, Miss JD Howarth

The Eden Apartments are nice but I would not recommend staying here if you are looking for a clubbing holiday! It is suitable for young families.
Entertainment is the same every day, so if you enjoy bingo you are in luck.
Personally, I didn’t want to spend my afternoons listening to numbers being called out on a microphone but I can not complain too much, because on my last day I won 100 Euro!
The reps were hopeless they acted like they were on holiday too!
Overall would not recommend.

Jan 2007, Miss K Bunn

I wouldn't exactly say it was amazing. The video doesn't show what it is.
Every time I heard the music from the video playing, I rushed over to the computer to watch the video! I loved the look of it. I was disappointed when we got there.
The toilet leaked, the shower was dirty, and there were loads of little bugs in our beds and the balcony above blocked out the sun.
However, the country is very nice. If you are planning to go there, I would recommend it, just don't stay in the Eden apartments!

Jan 2007, Mr M Blandford

Found apartments were very clean and tidy. Pool was too cold for my children of 3 years old and 1 year old but didn't seem to deter the other children in the apartments.
Plenty of good places to eat in the Europa centre and although expensive, the Moulin is well worth pushing the boat out for if you want a luxury meal.
The Sunday night barbecue at the complex is well worth the money and I would also recommend the dolphin sight seeing trip, although dolphins not guaranteed.
The taxis are quite cheap and need to be because once you have walked down to Amadores beach or Puerto Rico you will want to use a taxi to return.
Overall we had a great holiday and found the reps were extremely helpful and everything was in good condition. We would definitely return and would recommend it.

Dec 2006, Mrs Lisa Abbott

This was our third visit to these apartments and as always we had a fantastic time.
My kids 10,9,5 and 3 had a ball. They loved kids club, and the whats been called 'cheesy' entertainment the kids loved, and yes, I did join in with the party dances and bingo and happy hour. No point going on holiday and not having a good time.
As always the whole of the staff of the apartment were fantastic, no matter who they were, be it grounds person, maintenance, maid, shop keeper they also gave you a hello or smile.
Kim and the reception staff are as always fantastic, Gary and Cheryl entertainment spot on as always, Michal and his bar staff superb, and the Thompson reps great.
I've seen so many bad reviews about these apartments and its such a shame, the food in the pool bar is excellent and the Sunday night BBQ is a must, well done keep it up.
Be back next year, hopefully sooner than later, just looking at prices at the minute.
Well done all at Eden, see you soon.

Holiday maker beware - The apartments...
2 / 10
Nov 2006, Mrs SJ Brooks

Holiday maker beware - The apartments are tiny there was no wardrobe in the bedroom as it was too small to house one and the wardrobe facilities consist of 1 broom cupboard near the door. There are only 2 drawers in the bedrooms and 2 in the lounge.
The lounge is not big enough for a table and a breakfast bar is you sole indoor table. The balconies are poorly lit. In fact the whole complex is poorly lit and with many stairs to negotiate it is not that safe for old or young.
The towels are like cardboard and the sheets not changed during a one week stay. The bathrooms are so outdated but the shower is good, hence the 2 out of 10 score!
The pool is too deep for children and the children’s pool is nothing more than a puddle.
The day time entertainment is cheesy and if you get excited about happy hour or bingo you are in luck.
I paid 3 times the amount - disgraceful really, I could have gone to Florida for that money and had better accommodation.
Overall its a chav palace!
The staff in the shop are moody to say the least.
