Just back from Jardin del Sol and have mixed feelings.
- Grounds are lovely and very well kept
- Duplex apartments are nice if not out dated
- Location for Yumbo Centre is great (7 min walk)
Now the bad bits...
- Upon arrival we were greet by a grunt by the security guard (receptionist) which seemed to be the language spoken by all of them (5/6 diff employees). Could defo do with having some females working there as all the security/receptionists (dual roled) were male and very rude/unhelpful
- Decor very out dated in apartments - sheets not very clean - found long hairs in my bed
- Had to clean the patio area of hairs upon arrival. Despite this, when the cleaners did come, they did a good job, and very quietly
- No air conditioning
- Towels do not smell the freshest
DO NOT choose this complex if you are single and looking to unwind / escape from your normal working/personal life as they do NOT under any circumstances allow visitors.
Would recommend complex for couples and maybe families

My Wife and I stayed at the Jardin Del Sol in october 2009, and aside from one member of reception staff (male) being very rude, the place was fantastic.
The apartments are cleaned at least 5 times a week, which was a nice surprise as the brochure said they were cleaned 3 times a week.
The bar staff were absolutely fantastic, one of which, was constantly giving renditions of famous songs, which made the couple of days spent relaxing by the pool even better.
The Pool was great, always absolutely spotless, and the reception/shop area was kept clean, tidy, and cool.
Despite earlier reviews on this site mentioning a strip club next door, if I had not read said reviews I wouldn't have even known it existed.
All in all, this is an excellent place for your Holiday.

in are 20 nd i stayed ere with my boyfriend for a quite and relaxing holiday, the hotel was great the pool was large with lots of room and sun loungers. the staff were so helpful and they all spoke great english, the rooms were cleaned at least 4 times a week. the rooms had water in the fridge wen we arrived as well milk teabags and coffee. their is a small-pool side bar which u can get some food like burgers and hot dogs that were very cheap and very tasty. the irish center is only about a 5 minute walk and the beach is just past the irish center. we mainly stayed round the hotel but there was no entertainment and we drank mainly in Makers which is at the back of the hotel they were great prices they served food and they had great entertainment like bingo, quizzes and they had a snake show one night a week, the staff that owned makers were Irish and very friendly and they were very helpful in telling us were to go and what to see which was great. another great place is big Ben which is just past makers they serve a great brekie for great prices. the hotel also has mini golf which is shaded by a tall apartment block so we tended to use this a lot at the really hot times of the day so we could keep cool, there is also a lot of amusements around the hotel. i would really recommend that u go to the markets they are great.
the only thing that i would say is wen u come out of the hotel on the left their is a door which was closed all day but at night there was music playin so we went dwn 2 have a look but then we realized it was a strip club, but they do not bother u and u would not know they are there only we went dwn. all in all this hotel is beautiful with lovely gardens and a great sized pool with friendly staff i would recommend that u stay ere.

Jardin De Sol Apartments was just a secret garden of Eden. The apartments were fantastic with most utensils available in the apartments and, if not, available to hire. Maid service was at least 4 times weekly, the pool was always clean and tidy along with all the grounds of the resort and there was always plenty of sun loungers for everyone. A big bonus was that these apartments were available for late check outs at a supplement. the staff of the Jardin de Sol were very helpful and friendly, there was no depoist required for the apartments, the only depoist was for the safety box key which was in every apartment. We would recommend these apartments to any of our friends or strangers. Out and about in Gran Caneria we found resturants and pubs to be a little scattered about although the taxi service was very good and cheap. A good place to eat was Mackers good food and drink at a reasonable price. In the Irish Centre Mulligans was a great pub for a bit of craic and also there food was good too.

WOW! What great value for money! We had a great time at these apartments. Cute little house style apartments that feel unusually homely. The maids are spot on and the whole place is spotless from the rooms to the reception. The pool is big and ideal for all ages. Maid service was nearly everyday. The kitchen facilities weren't that great but its nice you have a bottle of water in the fridge and some tea bags ready for a cup of tea when you arrive at 4am!

Just returned home after 2 great weeks at Jardin del Sol, the apartment was a bit small for us, but there were 4 of us! The complex itself was amazing, the grounds were lovely and kept nice and tidy, as for the pool and pool area, that was one of the cleanest i've ever come across in many a holiday abroad. The maids came every day and were very helpful, even with their basic english, sheets and towels changed every other day, they even cleaned up after you. The bar staff were great fun, one even sang at the weekly BBQ & Karaoke. Hannah the rep was great, very informative about all the excursions, knew of a many good restaurant. It was'nt too far from anywhere really, 10-15 minutes from most centre's, 20+ minutes fron the beach, plus the taxi's are reasonable priced.
Plenty of restaurants nearby The Yellow Rose - bit dearer but the 3 course meal was the best we had during our stay! Mackers and Britannia at the Gran Chapparel were really good value. Will definitely return in the future!!!

We have just returned from this resort where we stayed for 1 week with 2 adults and 2 children. The apartment was fantastic, all you need for your holiday and we had maid service about 4 times in 1 week with clean linen and towels. The hotel staff are very friendly, the swimming pool is excellent and the standard around the Jardin Del Sol is excellent compare to alot of holidays we have been on before. The resort is nice but not really family orientated, more towards couples and young singles who enjoy the nightlife. There is plenty of lovely restaurants, we found Britannia's nearby on our last night and enjoyed a great meal for 4 for 25 Euros! Beware of cons on drinks though, they tell you it is happy hr but you still pay way over the odds for your drinks in the local resort. We would definately like to go back here next year, fingers crossed

We have just arrived back from 2 weeks in these apartments.
We checked into the apartments at 10:30pm and the reception staff were really friendly.
We then walked into the gardens and into our room and everything looked fantastic until we got to our room. I checked the door to see if it was unlocked. It was indeed locked, but the door opened almost 1.5 inch before the lock hooked into the door frame. once unlocked, you could see signs of forced entry on the inside of the door frame.
The staff were reluctant to move us into a new room. They said that they are booked at 99% capacity. After 25mins of agruing, we were then put into another room for the night, but had to move again the next day because the rooms with the parasols, microwaves, irons, hair driers etc are not under the thomson contract.
We checked the original room before going to the welcome meeting and found that the door had been repaired badly, the gap from top to bottom when locked was now 1cm wide.
However, things got better when Clint (tour rep) sorted things for us and were then moved again to another room. He was already aware that we were moved the previous night, and had a problem before we approached him.
The apartments are well kept, however the bed linen should be renewed as many off the sheets were badly worn with holes in them. if your not in the apartments with the parasols, the beds and pillows are uncomfortable, and you wont have the equipment included as mentioned above.
The grounds can get noisy in the morning when guests return from the pubs and clubs. we were woken up twice at 5am in the morning, with a young irish couple next door arguing, and a few times by other guests returning drunk.
But you cant expect everything to be perfect at only £1100 for two weeks holiday.
we booked the Mogan trip with Thomson but found it was a little expensive, 26 euro each. we didnt realise that the boat only goes one way and a bus takes you back to playa del ingles. However the tour guide was excellent on the bus. I cant remember his name, but he was a gentleman who retired on gran canaria from Belgum and had a ponytail.
I wont go into detail about the location or places to eat as there are plenty of other reviews.
