A really great all round value Hotel, with above average buffet food by Spanish standards, comfortable clean rooms, pleasant public areas, and great mixture of gay and straight guests and best of all NO screaming children around the place.Only negative point is the choice of English channels on the T.V

My friends stayed at this hotel this october. I was just next door with other friends. We had a wheel chair and we where invited to go and join them for the day at the neptuno. But on inspection of the hotel, i could not find any accsess for a wheel chair. Staff at recption where not very freindly at all. It was one of my friends birthday, i bought a lovely cake for him , and they gave it to reception and asked if it could be brought to them at there evening meal. they agreed, but then lost the cake. This bit is quite ammusing. They then put the cake out for everyone on the all inclusive buffet for everyone. They did replace the cake but it was a completly different one that i had bought. It took three days to sort out this problem . But i was more angry that there was no facility for wheelchairs. But my freinds say the meals where lovley, and the drinks where not the cheap drinks you usually get with all inclusive, you did not wear a wrist band ,what ever you had you signed for giving your room number.

My husband and I have just had a wonderful weeek at this hotel, the standard of customer care, cleaning and food was excellent. There were choices of food that would suit everybodys taste buds. The hotel was relaxing and friendly and if you wanted the hustle and bustle the Yumbo Centre was just at the back of the hotel which provide a great night life. This hotle is also centrally located. We would recommend this hotel and are hoping to go back to this hotel next February

Good location and having the locked gate at the rear of the hotel which takes you into the Yumbo was very handy. We stayed for a week in Nov 2009. The food was average, rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. All the staff were friendly. Smoking was allowed in the bar area which you needed to pass through to get to the dining room.By the time you get to dinner you smell like an ashtray unfortunately and your eyes are stinging from the thick fog! We didn't like the position of our room which was on the ground floor facing a wall which made the room very dark. We requested a change but because the hotel was busy they couldn't change our room until 3 days later ...there was quite a list of people requesting a room change. The positive side to our room was that it was quiet and we didn't hear any noise coming from the Yumbo centre.
We only used the pool once as it was always busy so you needed to be early to get a sunbed.
We would probably use the hotel again because of the location.

Perfect for a relaxing holiday. The hotel is immaculate and the staff friendly, in particular the Maitre D' (Maria Delpino) and the Barman (Juan). The food was excellent with plenty of choice both day and night and the pool is immaculately clean. Entertainment is average with the exception of one or two nights although the customers/staff at the bar made up for that. The room was nice and the beds extremely comfortable with the maid keeping it clean and tidy on a daily basis. Altogether a 1st class hotel that I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Playa Del Ingles for the first time.

I have stayed at the Neptuno quite a few times and have found it a very good hotel. I went this May and the staff I still find were helpful and friendly and the food was of a good standard.
This year the hotel has spent some money on new laminate flooring and new televisions. The new flooring has spoilt the appearance of the room but at least the television was new. Being English it would be nice if there was a Sky News Channel.
Since the recent modernization I found the prices of food and drink at the Pool Bar and also in the hotel has shot up dramatically. 5 euros for a large glass of coke which is now in English money £4. I didnt use the pool bar. Even the price of beers inside the hotel had shot up a lot

Firstly this is not in my view a 4* hotel. The food is 3* at best actually no it's 2* food. I feel ill just thinking about it. I had the upgraded room which was fine and I was happy with this. The pool is small but ok as is the bar. It's right next to the Yumbo centre and wasn't too noisy except Friday and Saturday nights when the locals made a real racket till 6am!
The worst part for my group of 6 or 7 (and the rest of the guests 30's to 40's) was in our second week when a party of about 16 Irish Dideycoys or what ever you call them, let's say beyond travellers, turned up. To say their behaviour in and around the hotel was appalling is an understatement. And what did the management do? You got it nothing! They eventually threw 2 or 3 out for fighting late at night but the rest remained to scream, shout, drop drink and food everywhere. Numerous complaints were made by guests including people who were 5th time visitors. Nothing. Mr Manager of the Neptuno, you should be fired. Of course you are unlikely to encounter this group at the hotel but if you do or any like them, then they'll have free rein to ruin your holiday at this hotel.

May 2006, Miss H J Rowley

Room: Ok-ish, for a 4* hotel, the room wasn't very spacious and there was only two English channels out of 40 on the TV (if you can understand German, you'll have a lot more choice!).
Cleanliness: The maid serviced the room everyday making the beds and empty bins. Towels and bed lined was refreshed every three days. She was very pleasant and serviced the room when we were out so those awkward moments were avoided.
Food: Breakfast is served 08:00 to 10:30, there is a good variety which is replenished throughout the morning. However, there is no variation in the breakfast menu for each day. Dinner is served either 18:30 to 20:00 or 20:30 to 22:00. You have to decide which sitting you want on the first night and a table is then allocated for you. Everyday of the week there is something different to eat including fresh fish and traditional Spanish food. The food was always hot and of a good quality.
Hotel Facilities: For a hotel of its size the pool and terrace was relatively small. However, we found that the pool didn’t get that busy so we were always able to get a sun bed. The hotel grounds were small so the hotel didn't have much in terms of facilities to offer compared to other 4* hotels.
Entertainment: An entertainment programme was ran during the day and night. During the evening, not many people stayed in the hotel so that atmosphere was boring but the bar was nice enough to have a quiet drink. The day programme was predominantly designed for adults; it isn't really a hotel in my opinion for young children.
Location: The hotel is situated within a couple of minutes walk to the Yumbo Centre. During the say and evening, this is a large complex with many shops and restaurants where lots of people go to. However, just so your aware, come midnight the gay clubs open and now you'll be in the gay hotspot of Gran Canaria. The beach is 10 minutes walk away. A minute down the road you'll find a great Irish bar called Shinangahn's and the Red Cow which is an English restaurant. Both play the footie!
General: For what we paid, we had a great holiday. The hotel attracts a lot of German guests especially those over 50, but if you are looking to relax during the day and party at night the Hotel Neptuno is a good choice!
